81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spells of Genesis - Innovating the Game Economy with BitCrystals (BCY) on: September 16, 2016, 11:07:13 PM
Anyone know of any more details related to MAGICFLDC? I saw the Foldingcoin interview last month. Anticipation is killing me.
Same with ORB (Ownership Revolution through the Blockchain??) I read that the release was today but I can't find much mention of it yet.

Thanks

any news on xcp? or just another pump Huh

Not just another pump. XCP has been the most undervalued cryptocurrency since when it's market cap was 25 million USD. Now it is under 15 million. XCP should be in the top 5 for market cap. This is just XCP taking its rightful place.

Anyone know how to clone Qora into Netbeans or another IDE?

Keep getting errors when I try
Code:
Netbeans > Team > Git > Clone

You can view the crowdfund at http://qora.tech:9090/qrowdfund ignore InitTest QoraPR is the only crowdfund as of this moment.

But if you want to donate you need to have the wallet running which provides access to the decentralised qora web 127.0.0.1/qrowdfund/at?at=AGe5sF9wSskpjx7YJo8rGG4Kb4JcebGqGU

Somewhere I read that each crowdfund would run 6 - 8 weeks but this crowdfund page defaults to 2 weeks (or is that just me?) which would mean that this crowdfund is more than half over and has generated less than 4% of the end goal. Even if it is given 8 weeks it won't hit the target. Does this mean it will be abandon in favour of other crowdfunds? Do I get my Qora back if it does get fully funded?
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: September 11, 2016, 08:27:07 PM

First CF has been launched, mostly as a test to see how that type of funding will go.

New algo for switch of QORA 1.0 is in development.

I've been a little busy lately, but I'm getting setup in my new position, and once I do I will have more time to be active here again.

Shouldn't take longer than another week or so. But development is being done in the mean.

Where can we find the full details regarding this Qrowdfund? I see the description in the wallet, but is there a page showing the full list of objectives and milestones?
good question mate i hope dev will answer this one by one or point us to the proper place to learn about those question moving good again for qora. good luck

It would be good to see some details on the crowdfund page. I've quoted Crowetec's most relevant post (imo) with some snips:

[ANNouncement] - QORA PR and Marketing CrowdFund started!

Hello everyone! We have launched the first CrowdFund for QORA, for Marketing and PR!

This is the first CF of multiple that we will be launching for QORA. We will launch them in groups of 1-2 at a time, I think I will also launch one for Development at the same time as this one. To see which direction people would like to see more focus on at the beginning of this big transition.

Also... We are going to be redesigning the way QORA hosting works in 2.0 version, making it encrypted so that illegal content is solely on the hands of the person who uploaded it and broke the terms of service.

So, this lead us to thinking about what could be done to make more use cases for QORA 1.0, and we are thinking we will likely turn it into a decentralized news hosting location. Make it limited on the number of accounts who can actually upload content (until we get to QORA 2.0) and give big news agencies upload accounts, allowing them to decentralize their news content. This is one idea.

Also, we have many ideas for the improvement of the QrowdFund platform, I'll give details on this a bit later! I believe it will be a completely new way of looking at CrowdFunds and management of them, and keep from having the issues of people starting them and not completing the jobs they started them for (thus scamming the people who donated to it.) I think it is a great plan, and it should work out great!

QORA 1.0 will be an exclusive gateway to 2.0, with the holders of 1.0 being able to donate coins and obtain one of the first 'mining accounts' on QORA 2.0. QORA 1 will also function as a gateway to poloniex through the power of ACCT, and will be focused on the QrowdFund platform and making QORA 1 into a service for decentralizing news content. With 2.0 being the one that anyone can use for decentralized hosting, as the data will be entirely encrypted, and able to be put responsibility solely on the person who uploaded the content. In the current system that isn't the case, so the worry of illegal content being on other user's computers if someone breaks the terms and uploads illegal content, is an issue.

Anyway, feel free to continue giving your opinions on what we should be doing with everything.

As far as the person who suggested that the switch to a mined algo is good, but to make sure that we don't over saturate the market with new coins.... I completely agree. We will make sure that we don't introduce new coins in super quick fashion, and make sure that the introduction of them is done in a way that the current price will not be negatively affected, while at the same time giving the network the boost in power that it needs.

We will also make sure to provide as many use cases for QORA 1 as possible, while at the same time providing others in QORA 2.

We're still open to suggestions and ideas, so keep them coming!

Please donate to the QrowdFund posted above.

Come on. I am waiting for another pump.

If you only want pump and dump coins, HZ may not be a good choice for you. Smiley

I am holding several millions and different assets since more then 2 years. But i want a pump to sell high and buy more cheap coins after the pump.

When are you planning to dump?  Roll Eyes

I'd like to install from source (git clone) to see if that helps but I don't know details of how to do so.
I've cloned the repository and I don't see anything other than  .../src/Start.java
Not sure how to proceed from there.

After some failed attempts and reading, I believe that I will need to install an IDE to move forward. Big hoping I can remember how to use Eclipse.

...only 2 people donated to the qrowdfund and I was one of them...wth

there are more than 2 people on this forum...with 10B coins out there we need more

all holder who want coin to increase in value must participate...

2 cents

@theduuude did you pledge 1,000,000 qora twice? That is a hefty pledge to match.

The qrowdfund is just getting started, no? I'd like the weekend to review some of the posts. Crowetic left a long list to review. I intend to pledge. I will also post bounty pledges where, for example, if someone shows me how to install from source using java I'll pledge 20,000 qora.

One question: after reboot my machine i have to sync bei wallet from the scratch ... why?

During successful close a checkpoint of the database ist created (called "databak"). If you kill the application it will not close properly and have to start from last checkpoint.
Those checkpoints are unfortunately only done during successful closing. If you donwloaded the data folder, you can also create that databak fodler with the same content so you will atleast have one good checkpoint to start from in case of an error.

The Closing process lasts much time. 1 Hour waiting ? :O

In my experience, closing does not take much time. No more than a minute at most.

Excited to see Qora starting to get the attention it deserves.

I installed Qora a few months ago without any problems. I was running Qora v0.25 and I forged a few blocks then shut it down after about 2 weeks.

Revisited a week or two ago. Not able to make more than 2 connections, not able to forge. Updated to Qora v0.26 but still had the same problems. In the last day, I'm getting no connections.

I used the zipped file from https://github.com/Qoracoin/Qora/releases

I downloaded the file provided by Crowtec from https://cloud.crowetic.com/s/IDzrYBiqXnhNCvg and replaced data and dataBak files.

Might try this again.

Not too worried. I can send and receive coins.

I'd like to install from source (git clone) to see if that helps but I don't know details of how to do so.

Not sure how to proceed from there.

My java version is 8 (build 1.8.0_66-b17)

Looking forward to exploring Qora. Interesting and tremendous potential.

Any updates on the dev?

Iam sure we will see some significant announcement during the next 48hours.

Waiting patiently for the news Smiley

News? You mean like "Hey people you can deposit and withdraw Qora on Poloniex!" ?
That sure would be news worth waiting for... hey wait. I'm already waiting for that?¿

anyone knows reason why counterparty price is rising ?
thanks

It's junseth. He said he was going to pump it 2 weeks ago on BU.

Who is Junseth? Hopefully the price increase is due to good fundamentals and not just another pump.

Well... ummm... I am not junseth.

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you know about newest coin? on: April 15, 2016, 11:52:52 PM
It is very hard to sit all day long to find out new coin launch. Is there any way to know the latest coin in crypto market ? I only know about altcoincalendar.info but am not happy with it. please tell me what are the upcoming coins. obviously CPU and GPU mine able only coin

What are you mining right now?

Don't wait/look for the right coin. Be ready for it. In the end, it's not about the coin. It's about the miner. You'll find that you go down many dead ends with new coins. The ones that are promising will likely require at least a moderate understanding of mining software and the professional miners will jump on promising new coins before you can even connect your miner.

Test the waters though. I would recommend decred.org It launched just over 2 months ago. The network mining speed went to 4THs pretty much right away. It's only 5THs now so you may be able to mine a bit with gpu. My gpu cost ~$200.00 6 months ago and my return now is less than $.50 per day (I think). I haven't bothered to figure out the exact roi because I know the gpu is not going to pay for itself. It can be more efficient to buy coins rather than mine. Staking Decred has been more profitable for me.

I read about Decred around 1.5 months before launch from CoinDesk emails. It took a lot of effort (for me) to be ready at launch (i.e., practice on testnets just to see how you manage). I failed at the ethereum launch because I didn't prep on testnet and didn't understand the software.

Do you have btc in the account? You need to pay transaction fees.

Hey folks,

I've got a DCR Pool ready for testing:

https://dcr.suprnova.cc

First the credits:
Thanks to ceejep and Wolf for the (really crazy) cgminer stuff and feeleep for the getwork and mpos testing/developing.

I'm using a special version of cgminer with some fixes, as while I was testing I encountered several problems with the original DCR cgminer implementation. My fork is here:

https://github.com/ocminer/cgminer-decred

In the original version endianness was incorrect, so (in my testing) blocks were found much less than expected, in the corrected version from my github you should find blocks (when pool mining) much more often. My version should also work on every other pool but not vice versa, so the official version is (not yet) working on my pool, you'll only get rejects. I'm in contact with cejep @ IRC to get my fixes commited to the official version and I'll also create a pull request soon. I'm still trying to get stratum implemented but there are STILL a lot of bugs and swapped things (big endian should be little endian) in cgminer. I hope to get most of the stuff fixed until the launch. Duplicate shares are a rather big problem currently.

Again: Please don't point the compiled official version to my pool - they won't work - you'd need to compile from my source !

Please be so kind and point your miner to my pool to see if the hashrate matches. Several blocks were found already, statistics are okay, hashrate calc seems to be ok and things like payouts etc. have to be tested.

Of course the pool is completely free for now, I'll add a 1% fee later on. If you see anything weird, please let me know. Either via PM here on bitcointalk or you can also get me on Twitter: @SuprnovaPools http://twitter.com/SuprnovaPools

Thanks for this. I'll make an effort to test it out and post back in the next 48 hours.
