81  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where To Buy Coins on: December 10, 2017, 05:32:26 PM
Coinjar is also a fairly good Australian option as is Coinspot.

When I visited Vienna recently this store -  House of Nakamoto - had bitcoin vouchers you could purchase. They were backed by the company who own the physical store. Highly recommend them. I bought a few for my family members who were interested/curious but didn't want to take the plunge yet with their own money. The fees were fairly high (I can't remember off the top of my head but it was more than an ATM) but it was quick, simple and trustworthy.

The downside is I don't think they have an online web store!

Hope that helps and good luck on your journey  Smiley

Just through random browsing on the internet back in 2012. I think I also read an article (maybe wired?) which got my curiosity going. If only I had learned how to mine back then!
84  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your goals in 2018? on: December 09, 2017, 09:46:54 PM
My goal for 2018 is to study and learn effective day trading techniques.

I like the illusionists. Blows my mind when I see them do their thing on TV. I haven't seen the statue of liberty Copperfield trick yet. You've motivated me to go watch it now.  Smiley

What miner are you using for Masari?
89  Economy / Speculation / Re: 15k treshold...hold or fold? on: December 09, 2017, 04:50:32 PM
I agree with BrewMaster. Everyone's circumstances are different. If you can afford to lose the funds you hold you may as well HODL forever. As a deflationary currency Bitcoin should theoretically only continue to rise in price.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What your opinion about feathercoin? on: December 08, 2017, 06:35:55 PM
I like mining it because I can get a decent amount of coins a day from it. Yes I'd have the same income (possibly) from mining ETH but I find something satisfying about earning whole coins instead of 1/100th of a coin. But that could just be me  Grin

Test them in small intervals. My cards are relatively new and I'm running very stable. Having said that my hash rate drops significantly on the 1070 laptop if I plug an external display in but barely moves if I plug in to the 1060 laptop... go figure...
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in those ICOs? on: December 08, 2017, 10:21:10 AM
ICOs are extremely high risk. As stated before do your research. If you decide to invest do it because you're also happy with the aims of the project. Don't invest in an ICO just because you think it'll be a short term pay off. You're better off just buying BTC and holding in that case.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we Need Altcoin? on: December 08, 2017, 10:18:43 AM
All ICO metamorphosis to altocoins if it becomes successful. As more startups are seeking funding through ICO then it shows we need more altcoins and it will be springing up massively in 2018.

I agree. We're only just seeing the start of the flood of tokens onto the marketplace. 2018 will be huge!

TRexMcStubyArms you might want to give givemecoins a crack as a pool. Also here's my config that I'm running for my 1070 in case you're interested:

ccminer-x64 -a neoscrypt -o stratum+tcp://ftc-neo.give-me-coins.com:3366 -u username -p x

obviously replace the username and password with the worker stats from the pool account.

I'm also overclocking my 1070 using MSI afterburner - Core clock +107, Mem Clock +845  (actually very stable which surprised me). From this I'm getting about 785 kH/s.

My 1060 in comparison I get about 360 kH/s so less than half that.

OK I have an answer!  In 81 minutes I mined 0.69 coins.  Divide that out by 4 cards convert to 12 hours and bam, you get 1.53 coins/card/12 hours.

Redbackbone I have absolutely no idea how you're getting almost 3X as many as me.  Either my pool sucks or your numbers are off  Grin

Huh that's quite low. I mine with two cards (a 1070 on my MSI laptop and a 1060 on a Lenovo laptop). Here's my earnings from give-me-coins over the past few days:

I tried to subtract the 1060 to get to about 5 coins a day from my one 1070.

This site http://whattomine.com/ gives a good indication what you should be mining for profit and how many coins you should expect (approximately) per 24h.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] on: December 07, 2017, 02:51:00 PM

soo..this sucks.  Give me coins must be down...I can't login to check stats

Huh... it's working for me. I get about 835KH/s from my 1070 and I'm earning (very) roughly (give or take) about 5 coins a day from it.

I am sure sooner or later there would be crypto doggies, crypto birdies or whatever crypto collectibles they can think of.

Bring on Crypto Doggies! As a dog person I just can't get my head around buying cat. Even if it is a digital one  Grin

FreeBitco.in always robs me of my 0.0000000000000000000015 BTC on their dice rolls so I dare not try it with my actual holdings.
