82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling addiction mainly due to loneliness and dissatisfaction? on: August 16, 2018, 12:49:19 PM
Yesterday I watched a video about addiction on youtube: https://youtu.be/ao8L-0nSYzg. It was a real surprise to me that according to recent research people are addicted to drugs mainly because they can't bond well with people and are not able to live a satisfying life. The research shows that when an addicted person appears in a loving and caring environment, the addiction kind of disappears (even heroin addiction). I wonder what are your thoughts on this matter and whether you think you could say the same about gambling addiction.

It is indeed true. People that don't have that much social life and doesn't interact with other people like having a decent conversation, a little chit-chat about the things in life and so on are mostly the people who could be easily addicted on something bad, the reason why is because they think that their life is useless, they are worthless person who don't deserve to live because nobody loves them.

And we can't blame them if that is what they are thinking, the only solution for that is to let them know that there are people out there who are willing to help them, to hear them out, to be their crying-shoulder, to be someone who could they trust, it will not be an easy job, but I think that is the only way to save them.

I think that was harsh. You never know if someone is being loved or not and at least the Creator loves everyone. Besides, hackers are alone people too most of the times and it is not like they are desperate for love of others because they love their work. There are many gambling addicts out there who are rich guys and play this game for enjoyment alone.

There are different causes and reason why people may turn to gambling as a means of coping with or blocking out difficult events or problems in their life. Some gambling addicts may simply gamble as an escape from the outside world. Addiction in general is considered a pathological coping mechanism used for escaping from current or past problems. It is one way to escape from loneliness and disappointments in life but it needs to be corrected because gambling is not a good habit that we must not misinterpret.
83  Economy / Economics / Re: Has Crypto Changed? on: August 15, 2018, 02:43:24 PM
If crypto has fundamentally changed over the past few months and whats “in” this month in cryptocurrencies?

https://www.asiacryptotoday.com/has-crypto-changed/

Cryptocurrency went through a lot of changes some are good and some are bad. Good changed includes the widespread acceptance and adaptation. Many people around the world already know about cryptocurrency. The bad thing is that the more people who know about cryptocurrency the more coins came from out of the blue and made the price become unstable. The more dump of the coins because of greediness to earn huge profit the more the market become unstable. Many investors are pulling out their investment which lead to heavy dumps.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still HODL? on: August 15, 2018, 01:25:52 PM
Right now is a tough time for anybody holding tokens. The HODL strategies put into effect a mere 3 months ago have cost portfolios a huge % loss in value...
I myself have witnessed thousands upon thousands in value destruction. Hrmmm, but what to do now?

Although I have watched, slowly and painfully, tokens descend in value equivalent to a brand new Cadillac down to a value where I cant even sell them for a used 1980s Ford where the bumper falls off...

Instead, I opted to HODL… But the question remains...
Should one effectively Sell-Out and take that broke down ford valuation now?
OR.
Does one still HODL and dream of Lambos full of Women and cocaine?

Seems there is no other way to do in this moment of dip than to hold. We cannot afford to sell in a losing price so better wait for a better price hike. As of the moment I am holding at least 4 kinds of tokens and just hold it a little more time since the price is very low and there is still no sign of price increase. I will just sit and wait and not keep monitoring the cryptocurrency market to avoid stressing myself.

86  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What is the most critical moments in Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin history on: August 15, 2018, 06:54:54 AM
Hi All Members,

Most critical moments in Cryptocurrency history of yourself;
01. Most Painful Cry Cry
02. Happiest Grin Grin

What we do in that moments!

Appreciate your reply to newcomers for cryptocurrency industry

My most painful moment in cryptocurrency is when my etherwallet was hacked and my tikens were stolen. All my efforts were wasted away. My happiest moment was when I received my first bounty reward and make my first trading transaction and successfully completed my first payment.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: HitBTC a scam?? on: August 14, 2018, 02:31:40 PM
I have read an article that says HITBTC was a scam. Is it true? Huh

Here's the link : https://news.bitzamp.com/hitbtc-scam-stole-10-btc-70k-reddit-user-lament/

Unfortunately, seems true. I have read several bad stories about hitbtc exchanges and it seems impossible that those people who said so are just making stories to ruin the image of the exchanges. I already come to a conclusion that I should stay away from hitbtc even if I have tried trading on their exchanges that went well. Maybe I was lucky that time that I was not become their victim. If HITBTC addresses this issue immediately it wouldn't have gone this far. They just simply say they managed to resolve my problem but it takes months and still unresolved.
88  Economy / Economics / Re: A cryptocurrency with volatility can't be used as money on: August 14, 2018, 01:58:31 PM
I totally agree, because under the current conditions of volatility the only practical use that Bitcoin could have would be its use as a means of payment to replace the current inefficient and expensive payment processors.

I am convinced that those who dare to use Bitcoin as money or as a long-term investment, will have to learn to continually deal with this high volatility because its defended decentralization makes bitcoin an easy prey for speculators without the possibility of any regulatory intervention.

A cryptocurrency is not a money because a money is the fiat that we are using. A crypto is an asset and obviously it is so unstable. Volatility is both directions, it's up and it's down that  a person will take that risk making it is a long way from being a currency. Unlike a currency, which is used to assign and exchange value, an asset has its own inherent value based on what people will pay for it.
89  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ang bitcoin ay ilegal!? on: August 13, 2018, 11:10:24 PM

Ayon sa isinumiting impormasyon ng coindance,"Bitcoin is unrestricted in 107 of 251 countries or regions.

                              Global Map of Cryptocurrency Regulations

Statistics for Bitcoin's Legality Around the World

Source: https://coin.dance/poli

90  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is a trending topic all over the world? on: August 13, 2018, 02:04:46 PM
Crypto has become an amazing phenomenon, this is because the number of users continues to increase significantly so it is natural to be trending topics in various media in the world.

Yes, the market price has skyrocket last year and that is the reason why cryptocurrency is trending all over the world and most of the investors and businessman right now are all interested in cryptocurrency related business.
That is right you mentioned about poor countries but we can see that poor countries have also innovators and they are contributing their parts for the betterment of this world. However developed countries have power and potential to support and run proper systems in their countries but poor countries have no high budget for their progress that is why they are slowly progressing.

Yes, cryptocurrency is driving the world crazy because of it opens new ways and opportunities to earn extra income. Which is at the same time a big help for the economy of the country. Turning the unemployed individuals to become self employed and it is earning a decent amount of money that can help raise the family. It is reasonably good to have crypto currency as a trending and most talked about topic anywhere.

Profit is profit atleast dika tengga.

I suggest pili-in ang maganda at may kinabukasan na coin.

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People call bitcoin a fraud or ponzi scheme on: August 09, 2018, 02:14:49 PM
They expected to be better off the moment they invested in but the idea of bitcoins is not as they think, hence they will tag it as a ponzi scheme or fraud.

Bitcoin is definitely not a ponzi scheme because nothing about Bitcoin is a secret. It is one of the most open technologies in the world. It’s open source, anyone can review the code, anyone can contribute to the code, anyone can run the software voluntarily and participate in the network, and anyone can use the network without permission. The entire history of all Bitcoin transactions is visible to anyone in the world too. So where is the ponzi in such a very public bitcoin system?
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency or Stock Market? on: August 09, 2018, 12:58:19 PM
It will depend on preference. The stock market has been going on for decades now and can easily be predicted, it the prices in the market is already stable which can be good if you do not want big risks, however the start up capital for is should be big and not many people can afford to get into the stock market. On the other have cryptocurrency is within the reach of regular people even tough the prices are volatile and is also hard to predict with right timing and good evaluation of regular people can make profits with great risks involved.

Between Cryptocurrency and stock market no one really knows what the total market capitalization for cryptocurrencies is. The cryptocurrency market also acts almost ten times faster. This affects everything. Prices go up faster, prices go down faster, prices change at larger magnitudes.Market manipulation is something that doesn’t really exist in the stock market, however, in the cryptocurrency market it definitely does. To some extent it might be beneficial for the wider adoption, since it gets more people involved in cryptocurrency now adays.
95  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin contribution to world economy on: August 09, 2018, 07:13:12 AM
How do you think bitcoin will affect the world economy by 2028?

In 2028 there must be big difference because as you can see at present, money transfers are facilitated by banks that charge extra in processing and transaction fees. Aside from that, transaction time is relatively slow and it would take seven days at the latest before the receiving party can access the funds. With bitcoin, on the other hand, people can get around these caveats and get more from their money than what traditional wire transfers entail. What’s more, currency conversions through such transfers are costly, whereas bitcoin conversions are much simpler and do not entail any such costs whatsoever.

97  Economy / Economics / Re: How did Crypto help you out? on: August 08, 2018, 01:36:15 PM
This question is especially for those who have been into crypto for a long time. How did cryptocurrency help you, most specifically financially? Did you earn more? Gain more investment? I do have a friend who wants to get into crypto but he does not have a lot of savings in his bank account or any major investment. I told him to save more before getting into crypto because they still have mortgage and car loan to pay. Do you think crypto will help him out to?
crypto can help everyone even though they do not have capital, because the work done in crypto is not only investing, you can follow several bounties and airdrops, this job does not require capital first, you only need to have a good bounty and airdrop and follow the rules applies.

In my own experience in crypto it becomes my best friend specially in times of difficulties. When my financial status is very low and I am about to give up. Crypto give me hope to fulfill my dreams. I earn money and able to buy the things that use to be very expensive because my income cannot afford to buy. Crypto currency is a very profitable business that everyone must try.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin holders will have to pay their tax? on: August 08, 2018, 09:07:51 AM
What will happen on BTC if the government will said that all the bitcoin holder have to pay their tax??
Maybe the expansion of BTC community will get low than usual.

This is one of the problems. You may have a taxable event even if you don't formally cash out. Short-term capital gains are taxed as ordinary income, which means your marginal tax rate will apply to your short-term gains as well. Anyone using cryptocurrency to pay for goods or services must treat each purchase as a sale. So, that is already a way of paying taxes because upon purchasing an item there is already a value added tax for the government benefits. The local wallet we are using for instance is governed my the local government.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who will be the new king on: August 08, 2018, 06:26:41 AM
Now the mainstream currency, BTC-ETH, has the upper hand, and they have the strength and technology, but the future is likely to be a new project to replace them more mature and more comprehensive. What do you think it would be?

I think nothing can bet bitcoin in terms of value but in terms of short term investment I think there are many good altcoins including ethereum. Bitcoin is the most secure blockchain in the world. It has more peer review and testing than any other coin. Bitcoin has paved the way for blockchains and is on the front lines taking a beating for the ecosystem. It’s been declared dead at least 99 times and subject to multiple attacks and yet it still stands today. Every time Bitcoin survives an attack it becomes more resilient.
