Ebangs are out, we now know where the samsung 10nm chips went, 18ts at 5k usd per unit and shipping now. If the dragonminter is real, it just got outclassed and beaten to market.
82  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty increase Feb 2018? on: February 06, 2018, 08:06:19 PM
My power cost is $.11/kWh. It’s still profitable right now for me. I am small enough though I can just pay my power bill out of pocket and that’s what I’ve been doing.  I haven’t cashed in any BTC to pay for power. Only to buy more equipment.

This is what I'm doing too, mining, holding, paying the bills from my regular job. Everything is moving right now, it's a huge shakeup, and we just have to wait to see where it all lands. I continue to believe that this is all temporary and we will see things get back to normal in a couple weeks,  after the Chinese New Year on the 18th. However,  I'm prepared to mine at a loss for years if necessary. There will come a time eventually where it will all come back to me and more.

Can someone tell me how low the price of the bitcoins will go .Is it worth to make an investment  or should i wait ??

Someone that looks for investment advice from random strangers on the internet should consider investing in something else.

Everyone except us seems to be just pushing Sig campaigns

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining earnings are terrible, I'm shutting down for a while on: February 05, 2018, 03:17:08 PM
Now is the best time to mine. If you’re mining for daily profits I think you’re missing the boat. Mine, accumulate, value increases over time. It’s like if you bought stocks on Thursday, the market tanked on Friday and you decided investing is not profitable. It doesn’t work that way.

This. If I wasn't banging out zclassic for the hard fork I'd be grabbing a thousand graft because it's new and easy to get right now. I don't calculate my earnings at 6 cents per coin and say I made 60 dollars, because it's easy for it to go up to 12 cents, 15 cents, and then it's 120 bucks, or 135 bucks. And it's not like you have to wait very long, if selling for profit is your game. I'm a hoarder, but I watch the prices, I could have sold for triple mined value on 3 different coins so far this month, all under 15 cents. They're back down now, but so is everything.

I think people are trying to get rich quick, like next week. Everybody needs to realize, 3 years, four years... that IS quick!

I only posted Kuala Lumpur as a joke, but if you want to roll the dice, let us know how that works out.

Guys... anyone has this error when starting zClassic wallet?

I did, I saved my wallet.dat file and deleted the rest, reinstalled, then replaced the new wallet.dat file with the old one, fixed.

c:/users/you/appdata/roaming/zclassic/wallet.dat

***** be careful with that file, don't lose it or mix them up. It has everything in it including your private key *****
88  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: KryptMiner - 20th/s @ 800w (a new magical miner / scam?) on: February 05, 2018, 02:56:13 PM
It's really a scam!!!
It probably is but you do realize that statements like yours are as credible as the statement that kryptminer is legit.
Do you know someone who ordered and got scammed, did you, did you find any evidence online, do you see something on their website that points towards that, God told you?
You have to say something more than "they are a scam" otherwise your comment bears no real value.

I don't know if you read the entire thread, but I did order from them, and was refunded without requesting a refund. In addition they have changed payment processors at least three times that we know of, and the woman behind the ebay account is a bodybuilder and fitness book author with no technical or computer background. The opal kelly board displayed uses an xilnix fpga which is not technically capable of operating in the manner described. I leave it to others to draw thier own conclusions from these facts, but I personally believe it is a scam.

Sir, could you please tell us where you happened to come across the https://intellogence.com/ link? Was it in a group or site specifically for advertising in the "community"? Thanks if you have any info. Very curious.

I saw it from a link on Reddit's r/bitcoin

Intellogence was one of their websites. If you look at the card displayed at the kryptminer website, it's an Opal Kelley card and it has intellogence stenciled on one side of it.

Grab easy coins and hold. 1k etn, 1k music, then wait. It's easy for a coin to go up 5 cents,  at 1k coin that's 50 bucks. I'm hitting zclassic right now for the btc private hard fork but if I wasn't doing that I'd be grabbing a quick thousand graft. You know,  for later.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there so much FUD about BTC right now? Have people forgotten what BTC is? on: February 02, 2018, 03:41:57 AM
Typically deceptive media is reporting that tether is a scam because all they do is swap tether for btc and then back. But that's what tether does, that's what it's for.
Whenever you see multiple media outlets using the same terms and themes, the same phrases, it should set your spidey senses tingling. The coordination is not just you being paranoid.
92  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Installing 10x dedicated 50amp outlets - $8000 reasonable ? on: February 01, 2018, 06:51:44 PM
I have an old house, 100 years plus, my electric was added on as it was being invented. For two 220v circuits,  2 outlets each for 4 miners, from the basement to the 2nd floor spare bedroom,  he quoted me between 600 and 800, I offered 750 If he did it the next day. He seemed most pleased. And it was done the next day. Including a small breaker box on the side of my main box, 2 breakers one each circuit. 2 slots left in the box in case I need more later. US, northeast.
93  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: February 01, 2018, 06:33:27 PM
Sold out again,  just now. I'm in the US,  northeast, can anybody lay out for me what additional expenses I can expect? Shipping, customs, etc. I read the thread, there's some conflicting information in there, especially the ups hostage taking thing, which I understand seems random,  but the rest of it I'd love to see it laid out in simple terms. If anyone familiar has the time. Please and thank you.

You need PSU - $105
Shipping ~$140 per unit
Customs depends how many units you buy. If you buy under $2,500 should be no customs. Not sure how UPS charges but I paid ~$40 for 6 units as well as 1 unit (which was actually under $2,500). I think when you already in their system and it comes from the same location in China they will charge you even if it's under $2,500. Maybe somebody else had different experience?

Thank you.

96  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Difficulty Increase what's going on ? on: February 01, 2018, 03:37:56 PM
It's interesting that the news reports that China is cutting miners off of subsidized electricity, but bitmain is racking in hundreds of units a day.. Where?  Are their bribes just so thick that their power usage is immune to these new regulations?  Or the reports are just BS, maybe - I was expecting to see s9's flooding out of China as displaced miners scrambled to roi.  Again, nothing.

China is corrupt, throw a few reminbri around, everyone looks the other way.
97  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: KryptMiner - 20th/s @ 800w (a new magical miner / scam?) on: February 01, 2018, 03:16:32 PM
Their Powerserver claims to draw 80KW power at 110-240V. Personally I've never heard of a single phase cable being able to take that kind of load. 3 phase yes, but if that was the case they would have said 220-415V. If we use european voltage which is 230V that would mean around 350A on a single cable !!! You might want to call the fire department before you connect this thing.
It's obvious that something smells fishy here.

I think they're trying to imply they have something like the GMO cards that are still as of yet unseen in the real world. Obviously, they don't.

I try to give back to the community by running a full node whenever possible, I have the space, (and also I'm greedy for free btc private) but the inability to encrypt the wallet is discouraging me from doing so for this coin. I respectfully suggest to the devs this should maybe be a higher priority to get fixed. Who wants to adopt an insecure coin? Using zclassic swing wallet ui 0.58, I believe this is the "core" wallet. The dev page requests users run a full node to solve the verification problem, but then the core wallet cannot be encrypted. These two things are at odds with one another.
99  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 29, 2018, 01:26:37 PM
I've been following this thread closely, and I wonder, what's so great about a 16T miner that nobody has ever seen that makes it worth risking precious btc on? I mean, ebang has an 18t for the same price, and they're a real company, with real products. Nobody seems to be going crazy for that. How come the dragonmint is so worthwhile? Less power consumption or something? I don't get it. I understand speculating, that's cool, but people are sending real btc to them, unrecoverable transactions. Seems kind of scary. I wouldn't mind taking a chance with a strongly protected credit card but btc is just gone if they screw you. And until recently it was 5 units or nothing. Is there some quality of the haloong miner that makes it great and I'm missing it?
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer A3 earning $500 a day mining SIAcoin . .WHAT?! Results & Stats on: January 29, 2018, 01:11:44 PM
I can extrapolate the yield drop from my 2 580s rig.
before hard fork at block 139,000  1 sia per hour
right after  .5 sia per hour
now .2 sia per hour

Yield has dropped by 80% since the fork.

Now at .07 sia coin per hour, down 93% since 1/27. 2 or 3 days.
That's a lot of drop.
