I know the definition of strawman already

But ill paste it for you:

an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument

You are making arguments such as:

1. his screen name says "ShortCoins" so he must have a short position
2. user xyz doesn't like bitcoin so it must be "ShortCoins"
3. user abc is a newbie so it must be "FUD"

Instead of discussing the pros and cons of Bitcoin. Not only are these straw man arguments, they are also incorrect.

If you want to actually discuss the topic which is about the 1355 different cryptos and how each new one can be bad for bitcoin, then go ahead. But I am done addressing your harassment and false accusations about things not even related to the topic

Hi mods,

I would like to thank you for running a wonderful forum.

I will be brief because I know you have more important things to do:

- I have asked Nullius at least three times now (very politely) to stop stalking and harassing me on the forums. I don't know what other route to take besides asking him very nicely.

-This is my only account, but Nullius has been spreading lies that I am using many accounts

-Nullius has tried to start fights with me more than once. I have no interest in doing so. I won't waste your time pasting his comments but he has come onto my last 5-10 boards and posted the same spam

-I try to be kind and get along with everyone on the forum, but if there is a way I can block someone who is harassing and stalking me I would feel a bit more safe on the forums.

-I respect all the rules and try my best to provide good insight and not start duplicate topics

Nullius, I hope that we can both be adults about this and move forward. Please don't harass or spread lies about me.

so I can stop bumping your spam thread

The last time I called it "my thread" you were quick to correct me that it is a public thread. You're basically just looking for an argument. Anyhow, I'm not going to drop to your level of maturity. So bye, have a nice day
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☠☠☠ Will High Transaction Fees Be The Downfall Of Bitcoin? ☠☠☠ on: December 14, 2017, 12:58:20 PM
Bitcoin STARTED off as a currency

Since it has failed as a currency due to high fees, scalability, and wait times we have FORCED it to become something else. Since it is convenient to sit and collect such massive ROIs we have changed bitcoin to be an investment tool or a storage of value. Bitcoin also started off with lots of support from developing countries and areas of poverty. Now those fees are squeezing out the very people who have supported, lobbied and invested their small amount of funds into bitcoin. Bitcoin is becoming more for the rich not for people of all incomes.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ✨✨✨ Are we wasting resources to make digital currencies? ✨✨✨ on: December 14, 2017, 12:50:40 PM
The problem is Bitcoin is intentionally designed to waste resources. The way bitcoin works, more and more resources will need to be consumed to make it. BTC doesn't need to work like that. We can make crypto currencies without destroying billions of dollars worth of man power, electricity, and hardware. It is scary that everyone is overlooking how wasteful it is. And that bitcoin's value is derived from how many resources were destroyed to mine it. Mining fees could be minimal compared to what they are

Nullius,

You are making yourself look more and more like a clown. Obviously the boards are public. But you come on each and every single board I make to post your bullshit. All of which you just make up on the fly including dumb allegations of FUD and sockpuppetting. I just laugh because of how off you are every time you try to make an assumption about me.

YES, my screen name is a play on words for Shorting Crypto. You are so smart figuring out that Short Coins stands for shorting coins. How the heck did you figure that one out? Let me take back what I said about your dumb comments on FUD and Sockpuppetting because you are a borderline genius for figuring that out.

Just cause my screen name is ShortCoins does not mean I have a short position on bitcoin, you dolt.

Do you stalk people in real life or just on forums? Weirdo.

I’m going to call a presumptive sockpuppet here.  The one and only post on the account of “cryptoandmore”,

ROFL. Nooblius, You are DEAD WRONG. Again! Stop making stuff up about me just because I don't have the same outlook on bitcoin as you!

This is the only account I have ever made on bitcointalk. I just discovered the forum this week. I have a relatively grim outlook on bitcoin, and do not deny that but I have posted plenty of positive things about it as well. I don't short bitcoin, and I think shorting it is more risky than HODL simply because of the nature of options and needing to predict timing in addition to price direction.

It would be a bad thing if the entire forum was all long on bitcoin. Its normal and healthy for people to disagree or have varying viewpoints.

So is there anything else you would like to know about me before you stop stalking me around the forums and spamming all my boards?
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☠☠☠ Is Crypto A Rip-O? ☠☠☠ on: December 14, 2017, 12:11:53 PM
I don't have a short position on Bitcoin, nor do I have a short position on any crypto. Please stop making stuff up just to support your straw man arguments.

Bitcoin and currently existing alts may or may not fail but they have already planted the idea that it's possible to have a financial system separate from the government. In that sense, they somehow succeeded.

Well said. Maybe greed is a necessary component that will help spread awareness in the end. I think digital currency is here to stay.

And Bitcoin's creation of the block chain will be a lasting legacy.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☠☠☠ Will High Transaction Fees Be The Downfall Of Bitcoin? ☠☠☠ on: December 14, 2017, 08:19:31 AM
I agree that it has elements that are similar to a Pyramid Scheme.

Even if the poor are still profiting after fees on bitcoin, they are effectively still losing because the rich are increasing their profits by a much larger percentage. The reason the rich can increase their profits by a greater ROI is because the fee is a smaller % of their overall investment.

91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / ☃☃☃ The #1 Factor Driving Bitcoin Prices ☃☃☃ on: December 14, 2017, 08:12:27 AM
The Number #1 Factor Driving Bitcoin Prices Is:

Greed

People want to get rich quickly and not work. They think that bitcoin profits will last forever. People are investing in bitcoin, not because they believe in the future of the currency, but because they want to pad their pocketbook. Big money in Asia markets are manipulating the price. And everyone is coming along for the ride in the pursuit of profits. Bitcoin technology has increased very minimally but the cost to buy bitcoin has gone up 5,000,000 times its initial cost. Everyone is hoping to sell their bitcoin to the next person in line for more and more money. Greed will drive the price up as high as possible, and greed will cause the crash as well. Crypto is a really neat concept, but turning it into an investment tool is making us more motivated by profits than actual beliefs. Not to mention Crypto is destroying billions of dollars worth of resources each day. Its really sad to watch humanity destroy the world in pursuit of profits

Warning for EVERYONE:  The troll named “nullius” is spamming the forum with FUD warnings. He is very annoying and stalks all my threads
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ♨♨♨ Is Bitcoin A Giant Ponzi Scheme?♨♨♨ on: December 14, 2017, 08:01:45 AM
Bitcoin prices will keep going up as long as there is a line of greater fools thinking that they can sell for higher prices than they paid. But, inevitably, that faith will wane and, then, there will be no reason to hoard bitcoins. In contrast, when the price of Apple AAPL  stock drops, the price is stabilized by the fact that, as long as Apple is a profitable company, its stock is worth owning, When bitcoin prices drop, there will be no reason to hoard bitcoins and no reason for the price to stabilize. In the rush for the exit, few will make it out the door unscathed

the high fee only make the poor lose their interest in bitcoin

The sad part is that a large majority of bitcoin investors are "poor". Bitcoin fees are a scam against the lower class

We are spending around 10 billion a year on bitcoin mining at the current costs (which keep increasing)

I am simply discussing topics related to bitcoin.

I don't think coinbase will remain the most popular exchange if their fees stay this higher or get worse

I was very surprised to learn coinbase is the number one downloaded app now
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☠☠☠ Is Crypto A Rip-O? ☠☠☠ on: December 14, 2017, 05:12:13 AM
Why are you so focused on my "newbie" status. Do you really think bitcointalk membership status has any bearing on the validity of my posts?

I have spent more time learning about crypto currencies and I have provided much more substance than your spam.

It is your choice what to believe, and if you want to go around shouting FUD everywhere, go ahead. It makes you look unintelligent

CAYAMTB.

(chances are, you already missed the boat)

I agree strongly with this when it comes to bitcoin. With the price having skyrocketed from $0.003 to $17,000 USD chances are that you already missed the boat in terms of tremendous profits. But because of FOMO (fear of missing out) people are coming in and buying bitcoin for very expensive prices simply because so many other people have made money off it. I think FOMO is one of the driving forces right now for bitcoin prices

Since when is being a realist a bad thing?

Everyone who believes that bitcoin can only go up is in La-La Land. Discussing both the good and bad things about Crypto is healthy. The people who just scream "FUD" are not providing any substance. They are simply spamming the boards. So again, I will request that the spamming and false allegations of FUD cease.
