81  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Need Bitcoins for 75$ Paypal Amount on: July 22, 2015, 05:42:11 PM
Hi, your best bet might be to trade on LBC, you can use paypal there.  But imo most people don't like to use paypal so you might have to wait a little while to find a buyer.  Good luck!
82  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Earn up to 40% monthly with SuperPeople Community! on: July 21, 2015, 09:43:16 PM
Hi, can you provide some more detail about how exactly this works?  Some of those numbers look reasonable-ish, but the presentation doesn't really say much.  And I don't tend to click on links.  Thanks!
83  Economy / Gambling / UFC 190 discussion on: July 21, 2015, 09:34:36 PM
Anyone interested in ufc 190?

I feel pretty strongly about these matches:

Rousey v Correia:  Rousey by submission

Rua v Nogueira: Rua by knockout

I think the other Nogueira fight will be interesting.  Struve is good, but if Nogueira shows up he will win the fight.  However, he has looked over the hill in most of his fights in the last years.

Maia va Magny: Maia has looked pretty good lately, but he is getting old and there is no telling when his age will catch up to him.  This should be a good fight, I think Maia will win by decision.  But he has been in a lot of tough fights.

So those are the fights I have some opinion on, and I was wondering what you guys think.  Does anyone have strong opinions about any of the fights?  Also, what is your favorite online site to bet on ufc?

Note: I am not a professional gambler, nor am I remotely good at picking winners.  This thread is more for discussion, and please don't bet on my picks!  I would hate to lose money for you.
84  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Game over Fat People on: July 21, 2015, 09:20:54 PM
Lol, I am thinking of all the ridiculous smoking commercials, and how they will do the same for anti-fat stuff.

OK so as someone who is fat-ish (I am down to 195 from 220, so less fat than I was, but still a way to go!), I can say that it is HARD to not be fat for some people.

Would you give cigarettes to our children?  Because the diets in schools are so bad that we might as well.  I know LOTS of smokers.  And none of them have health problems until at least 50 years of age.  But I also know lots of fat people.  They start having problems much earlier, even as young as 30.  So yeah, giving our kids cigarettes would be better than the crap they get in school.

There are some good documentaries on netflix to watch, but in a nutshell the food industry has our government by the balls.  For example, in stead of getting crap like pizza out of the schools, they just redefined it as a vegetable.  That is not made up, pizza is a goddamn veggie at school.  This is because a corporation didn;t want to lose sales.  These companies will literally kill babies to make a buck (see: nestle).  They set up the bad habits early on, in some cases putting sugar in formula for babies.

It is not all the fault of the fat person.  Did you know that sugar is more addictive than cocaine?  Or cigarettes?  Companies know this and use this information to formulate addictive food.

I don't want to go on, but there is lots of good information out there if you care to look.  Sure individuals need to take control of their diets.  But with the 60 hour, 2 income households, who the hell is going to cook healthy food?  It takes TIME to cook healthy food.  All that pre made stuff is just garbage.  So in stead of shaming the fat people, why not shame the corporations too?
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Should we rename the alt section the Peter Todd section? on: July 21, 2015, 09:09:03 PM
OK, so I am a noob or something because i don't even know who that is.  I guess I need to go google him?  Anyway, in light of my ignorance, I think that the best answer is: Waffles.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin halving is near, will the price increase after halving? on: July 20, 2015, 10:32:45 PM
With the recent pump of litecoin, many think the halving is already priced into LTC.
So after it does happen, there may not be much change.
I expect the litecoin price to eventuality stabilize around 0.01 btc.

This is what I was thinking.  The halving push maybe already happened, but I do expect it to go up after the halving.  Just not a huge spike or anything.

Famous boxer Juan Manuel Marquez used to drink his own urine during training.  Say what you want, dude was badd ass in his prime.  Too bad he switched from pee to steroids.

89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much BTC have you gambled? (anonymous on: July 20, 2015, 10:17:54 PM
I have gambled less that 1 btc.  I use it as entertainment only, because I don't feel that I am lucky enough to beat the house.
90  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BINV - Blockchain Investor on: July 19, 2015, 06:44:48 PM
I like the idea, but as others have said, I would not invest in this game without a website.  Take a look at chain profit, they have a game that seems very similar to yours.  Put in some effort and you will get some bettors I bet.
91  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recomended poker rooms on: July 19, 2015, 06:42:34 PM
Thanks for the great suggestions guys, I have been wanting to try poker myself.  I can see bitcoin poker growing a lot in the near future Smiley  I will keep an eye on this thread for more suggestions.
92  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitTournament.com - Provably the most fair Bitcoin game in the Universe! on: July 19, 2015, 06:39:54 PM
Hmm, sounds interesting.  I like the concept, but to me it would be more interesting if there were multiple pvp games, with different options.  For example you could have dice, where one player offers a roll with corresponding payout such as 60/40 win, and another player has to match that bet.  With no house edge, but only a house fee, this coul dget really interesting.  With the right games I could see this site having good volume.  Damn I should stop giving away these ideas for free lol.
93  Economy / Gambling / Re: How much more would you gamble if you found a provably fair EV+ casino? on: July 19, 2015, 06:34:54 PM
I think my chances of winning the lottery are better than finding such a casino.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who would use a new platform for freelancers? on: July 19, 2015, 06:32:49 PM
Yes, I would absolutely use a website like this.  One feature I would really like is a review system, like on LBC for example.  So after a job the employer/employee could rate each other, and bad eggs could be weeded out.  With a bit of work you could establish yourself as a leading member of the community with consistent quality, either prompt payment and such for employers, or good quality work for employees.

Reading the quote, I dont think the author meant literally that a bunch of 10 yr olds will be running the economy, I think it was just an example.  Sort of like how older generations are in general less computer literate than newer generations.
96  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cloudmining VS Investments(trading) on: July 19, 2015, 06:26:42 PM
we all know for a fact mining is not profitable why are this mining companies still around, how are they still making profit and why are people putting money into this.

It's because there are always noobs that don't know about the difficulty. These noobs buy highly expensive miners or bitcoins on ebay too. They see how much they can earn with mining in the next week on actual difficulty and often think that will proceed the way in the future. Then they buy contracts and learn eventually that their real profit will be way less than their investment, most of the time.

Huh, thats funny.  I have been making about 10% a month on hashnest.  I better call them up and tell them to stop paying me.

It is true that most mining companies are not legit, but to say that cloud mining is a waste, I think that is just silly.  It IS possible, you just have to find one that makes sense.  Bitmain likes to sell hardware, so it makes sense that they would try to increase their sales by housing the equipment for you.  And if you buy an s5, they will house the hash and send you the machine when you want it.  How is that a scam?  How am I losing money?  How are they a ponzi?  Blanket statements are silly.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IEEE - The Future of the Web Looks a Lot Like Bitcoin on: July 19, 2015, 06:15:59 PM
Just like the cell phone, cryptotech is slowly integrating into our every day lives.  Now that even the banks are starting to look at it, I think it won't be too long until wide spread adoption begins.  The so called "killer app" will actually just be when the first major bank allows direct trade of bitcoins<->fiat.  It has to happen because of game theory!
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs. early internet Investments on: July 17, 2015, 05:40:13 PM
Hi all,

I would like to know why comparing the BTC vs early internet investments the inflation is always not taking into account. It is always said, that the costs of launching a start-up has changed over the last two decades. Is it now more expensive?

Thanks in advance for an answer!

It probably depends wildly on what kind of start up you want to start, but my guess is the cost to start a startup has gone down.  Mainly because nowadays most everyone has a computer powerful enough and internet connection fast enough to create and maintain a website right from home.  This allows lot of service type "start ups" or even new products to be advertised, sold and such right from home, eliminating a lot of the cost/hassle that was probably there before.

In addition, there is so much knowledge out there that you could teach yourself just about anything you need related to doing business, such as how, when and where to advertise, etc, that you could learn a lot from others mistakes and save a lot of money when starting up!

Not only that, but there is software out there now that pretty much builds a website for you.  So if you don't want to pay someone to do it, you can just do it yourself!  I used Imageline's EZ generator to make my website, and I don't know ANY coding.  I did have to learn a few really basic things in html, but I mean REAL basic.  Plus their help in the forums are second to one: on a couple of cases I got a software update just for little ole me.  Now THAT is service!

But if I was starting a real business, I would hire someone to make the site.  It was quite a lot of work to make the site even with the software, and I don't think it looks 100% professional.  But that is ok, it is just a hobby site anyways.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Texas to circumvent fed with new gold depository, will accept Bitcoin on: July 17, 2015, 05:35:34 PM
This is interesting.  There have been questions about the gold reserves going all the way back to Nixon, when we left the gold standard.  To my knowledge there has never been an audit of the reserves since.  And I saw on a show that when other countries who have gold with us ask for it, they are given the finger.  There is also a shady thing with that manhatten vault, where there is a goldman sachs vault underground at the same place.  It is all very shady and looks like a conspiracy.  The problem is that when you try to talk to the average person about these things, or even about how much money was spent killing people in Iraq, they look at you like you are talking about space aliens.  This crap will continue as long as people refuse to come out side of their suburban bliss.

I loled at the secede plan.  Texas won't do that, it is all just bluster.  If they try I guess we will have our second civil war!

Texas lawmakers may not, but the citizens may push for it.  Especially with the currently ongoing unwanted military "training exercise" currently underway.

Another reason why counties may never see their gold again, look into the missing gold that was under the world trade centers on 9/11.  That will lead you down a LONG rabbit hole of research...

Huh, I never heard of the missing gold under the trade centers.  Thanks buddy, now my weekend is gone!

And @BADecker don't be so sure, Texas is a red state.  I like living where I am, we have actual freedoms here like freedom of religion, lack of racism, etc.  I am not saying that everyone in Texas is a racist, or party to religious oppression, but it tends to go with the territory.  I have never been to Texas so I could be wrong, maybe it is the exception to the rule.  But the red states I have been to fit the pattern.
