Keep your loyalty with Windows 7, it was one of the best... If you have AV that can still support it then you should be fine to keep running ir and not much can go wrong if you don't have large amounts on the wallet (and if you do you can use an spv client or a hardware wallet on another machine/os).

Yeah windows 7 was the pinnacle
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fatal error on: January 21, 2020, 12:51:46 AM
No, Win 7 going away would not cause any of the issues.
Keeping a wallet on an unsupported OS might have some security implications down the road but as of now its just as updated as any OS.

Did the reindex finish OK?

The tor issue is strange if you do not it configured anywhere.
Could you have set it up for an earlier version and forgotten and it's just been copied from update to update?

Other then that I have no idea.

-Dave

Reindex is still going well. Yeah i had tor before but it's out of the config. Not sure where it's getting it from, maybe registry.

Maybe i need to explicitly disable tor. Anyone know the config file options?

Also how do I get rid of these, there's thousands. I don't have tor or onion in my configuration.

I'll try those. I'm on Windows 7. I don't see any disk errors.

Reindex seems to be running.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Fatal error on: January 19, 2020, 11:32:14 PM
I'm getting a fatal error. Qt just says fatal error and crashes. I recently updated to 0.19.0.1. Didn't happen before then. Ran for a day fine.

CARLOS WATCH!!!

He goes by TITO now:

https://www.recorder.com/Tito-s-Tacos-gets-building-28117504

I let the Recorder know that there is a MUCH bigger story about "Tito" than TACOS!

I'm shocked he wasn't "too scared and frightened" to have his picture taken.

He has aged.   Grin

He's on Federal Street, is that a forewarning?

New order on July 5th who is a member of the Class Action:  Plaintiffs’ motion for class certification is GRANTED. The following class is certified:
All persons or entities who, between August 1, 2014 and January 19, 2015, (1) purchased Hashlets, Hashpoints, HashStakers, or Paycoin; or (2) acquired Hashlets, Hashpoints, HashStakers, or Paycoin by converting, upgrading, or exchanging other products sold by the Companies. Excluded from the Class are any defendants, any parent, subsidiary, affiliate, or employee of any defendant, any co-conspirator, and any governmental agency.

What funds are even available? There's nothing left

Were you asleep when Garza was dropped from the lawsuit and Uncle Stu is still the target?  I am not saying they will be successful in getting to Uncle Stu's money, but man that would be interesting.

Ok that's amazing! I always blamed uncle Stu.

...... I still think he has a secret wallet somewhere.

I would assume the legal people involved in the case would be aware of this possibility, (ie...remote possibility imo, but who knows)
and would maybe somehow monitor his finances upon release?
Maybe question his sudden purchase of a brand new shiny Lambo?...you know, the sort of thing dumb, pretentious bitcoiners do.....

Even if he does, he'll burn it on private jets and drones. He's not a bright guy.

This thread is under new management to be clear. ETC Labs is leading new projects forward.

Is there a specific reason for the new management that is interesting to the community or just a change in personal interests of those who were formerly involved?

I haven't been as dedicated.

I think we'd pay a lot for pics of homero inside

Only in paycoin?

Yeah and they can hit up homero in prison for their $20

Is the network even up still? The coins are out there

New dev, new management, new beginning.

Can't wait to see the results tomorrow.

Code is law

Code is law. https://etclabs.org/ is leading the way forward.

Is it their new website? It looks very fresh to me. I see that they have a lot of funding especially for start-ups and I am excited to see some projects being sped up. Awesome ideas they have there

ETC main site is at https://ethereumclassic.org
