81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Awards / Bitcoin Awards on: September 01, 2013, 09:46:03 PM
I think that a nominal donation would be best, to someone who greatly benefitted the cause of bitcoin. That way, in press coverage, it does reinforce the idea of bitcoin as a real currency, one in which prizes can be paid out in.

Do you want to earn or buy your first coin? Buying is a lot simpler...
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin farming, the next frontier on: September 01, 2013, 09:37:44 PM
I'm somewhat confused.  Are you suggesting selling food for bitcoin, or farming supplies? Or are you just a proponent of bitcoin closed loop economies?
84  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why isn't there a single purpose bitcoin hardware wallet ??? on: September 01, 2013, 09:31:02 PM
I think that the majority of people who use bitcoin already own smartphones (massive generalization, but chances are if you're savvy enough to use bitcoin, you're savvy enough to own a smartphone).  I know that I, owning a smartphone, wouldn't want to carry something else with me.  One of the (many) conveniences of bitcoin is that it eliminates the need to carry a wallet full of cash; I think having a hardware wallet seems a little redundant to me.  As for those that aren't tech savvy enough to use a smartphone, I think giving them a hardware wallet would be even worse; now they have ways to lose the coins both physically and electronically.  Just my two satoshis.
85  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: How long does it take CampBX to answer tickets? on: August 23, 2013, 05:38:25 AM
I think that they've been having support requests problems lately.  Yesterday, the ticket hoster they use went down for a period of time.  If you check their facebook page, there's a ton of unhappy people with ticket requests as well. I personally sent a ticket in 3 weeks ago with no response, so I ended up messaging them via Facebook.  Took them a week, but they finally responded to that today and resolved the issue.

I'll likely be there, depending on what the rate is.  So, what price you looking at?
87  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Coinbase cancel "high risk" buy - now seeking agent in Los Angeles on: August 23, 2013, 02:02:03 AM
Just thought I'd share my own experience: bought some (4) at 98, got them at 108.  Maybe I was just lucky; I have no idea.  Just my own side of it.
88  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB BTC on: August 23, 2013, 01:52:18 AM
What realestone said. Even if it takes 4 days to get the money to your bank account, its much safer that way and you're going to find sellers much more quickly.

Awesome stuff! Just followed. Good luck with your site!
90  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitgo arbitrage tool on: August 22, 2013, 03:20:45 AM
I don't know if its just me but I'm getting a Page Not Found Sad. Sounds cool though so I hope it comes back!
91  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC. Would love to recieve WU but other payment options works too. on: August 18, 2013, 06:27:33 AM
Okej cool thanks! I really appriciate all the help I can get. I will check it out right away! John K sounds good

John K is the most trusted person on this forum.  I'd trust him to hold $100,000 (about €75000) if I ever needed someone to.

For more typical values (anywhere from $20 to a few thousand), I'd also trust KingOfSports, Graet, and (obviously) myself.

John K can be a bit busy, and may not be online when you need to set something up in a hurry, so it's always good to have additional options available.

I've had this question for a while... Do the escrow services mentioned have minimums? If so what is the average? As in can I buy half a bitcoin worth of goods and use escrow?
92  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC/LTC -- Multiple Payments Accepted on: August 18, 2013, 06:20:09 AM
Assuming identity established and pp as payment source, how much of a premium will you be taking? I'm mostly interested in the litecoin.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding the Gold-Silver Ratio and How It May Apply to Bitcoin and Litecoin on: August 16, 2013, 01:26:02 AM
I'd really like to hear your findings personally, that's something I'm interested in myself.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC not showing in wallet on: August 15, 2013, 07:37:44 AM
I'm not sure if this is why, but some services require more confirmations so it might take longer for them to show up.  Confirmations sometimes happen quickly; other times they go slow.  I know on localbitcoins, sometimes it takes like 5 minutes and other times it takes an hour.
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase Transaction on: August 15, 2013, 07:25:41 AM
Hello fellow N00bz!

I just successfully completed a transaction with Coinbase's new bank to BTC method. It was super easy and took about three days for the transaction to finalize. This was, by far, the easiest and most convenient way for me to exchange my cash to BTC! If you're sick of Bitinstant, ZipZap, Moneygram, etc. etc. I'd check it out!

Thanks!

Do you know if it will always take that long? I was thinking/hoping it would be same day.

If you have third level verification, you can buy instantly.  The verification process requires you to forgo some privacy but its pretty easy.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Linux need a Bitcoin OS? on: August 15, 2013, 07:19:23 AM
Building on the privacy idea, I'd appreciate something where two factor authentication is built into the operating system.  Two factor is in everything already... It should be a staple in operating systems too.
97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Place to buy BTC with credit card on: August 14, 2013, 08:54:14 AM
It's not. You need to link your bank account.  It is substantially easier than wire transfers etc. though.
98  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS: 3 BTC on: August 14, 2013, 08:48:13 AM
Will you be using escrow?
99  Economy / Services / Re: Get up to 0.30 BTC a month for your signature! on: August 14, 2013, 08:08:27 AM
I can still get in on this right?

100  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would you like to help beta-test a Bitcoin strategy game? on: August 14, 2013, 08:00:23 AM
I would definitely play this game for money I love tower defense style stuff.  Only problem - it takes forever to find anyone to play with.
