81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 23, 2013, 06:07:31 PM
You had a good idea for a joke but executed with very poor delivery..lol

I admit I like your joke better.
82  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 23, 2013, 05:57:33 PM
Starting to wonder if the creator of Bitcoin made a typo.  The "i" is right next to the "o".  Maybe the second "i" wasn't suppose to be there.
83  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: August 20, 2013, 10:39:19 PM
@Amy

Not sure why you felt compelled to write all that in the first place.  Unless they publicly put your product down first, and you are posting a reply with proof against it.  If your chips are that much better just state their specs as they are and we can figure out for ourselves what suits our needs best.  This type of "this is why we are better than so and so" seems a bit petty and unprofessional.  In addition, claiming your chips are 11 to 16 more efficient implies it either hashes 11 to 16 times more per same wattage or draws 11 to 16 times less power to hash the same amount.  Without the final products to take actual readings against each other, statements like this is misleading at best.  Lastly, how many times more efficient your chips are compared to something else doesn't matter when you take into account the time factor.  No one will argue with you in that your chips are vastly more efficient than batch 1 Avalons.  Yet no one can argue the result that owning a batch 1 Avalon had back in the days, over owning a Baby Jet in late October 2013.  KnC is presumably a month ahead in schedule and while that's yet to be proven, neither is your delivery estimates.  A month of difficulty changes everything these days.  Please keep it Professional.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy 7950s or 7970s? on: August 20, 2013, 05:41:52 AM
For me, the 7970s give around 660 at 72C average.  The 7950s give around 630 at 68C average.  Both cards are all undervolted to 1048, and the 7970s draw around 25-30W more according to my killawatt.  Between the higher initial cost, increased power consumption, higher heat output and thus louder noise (although most don't care about that), all for 30KH/s more, I actually regret buying the 7970s.  My recommendation goes for the 7950s.
85  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 19, 2013, 08:07:24 AM
There is a company selling apple pies.  I ordered my pie in august 2012.  When this pie gets to me, whenever that maybe, it will be no good.  It will have spoiled and I won't be able to eat it.  I am in the overwhelming majority of the customers who share this same predicament.

There are the rare customers who did get their pie and did indeed eat it.  There are those that also got the pie within the time limit to still eat it and not get sick.  We know you people exist and we can only imagine how good the pie tasted.

If you are one of these people, it is usually poor form to talk about how great the pie tasted and how you'd get another, when most of who you address are still starving.  We blame the company for our malnutrition and will probably never give them our business again.  You bringing us news of your unique instances do nothing to enlighten us, it only makes us angry, and more hungry.

wow... I am so hungry...

One of the mods could easily clarify this (checking the IP from where BFL-Engineer posted this).

@BFL-Engineer, would this be OK for you?

We don't need to see his IP identification.  These aren't the cards we're looking for.  You can go about your business.  Move along.
87  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Announces 600GH/s 28nm PCIe Mining Card on: August 17, 2013, 11:59:43 PM
I'm still in the process of trying to get a refund on my august 2012 order for a single.  While there are those of you who have your products in hand, you are in the minority.  For the rest of us, I think it's a matter of principle, and maybe a touch of spite even.  People don't like being lied to and led on.  Personally, it's gonna take something extraordinary for me to consider buying another BFL product again.  Especially now, with other options available.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: did ASIC ruin bitcoin ? on: August 17, 2013, 06:17:06 AM
Depends on who you ask.  For GPU miners, yes.  For the receivers of the first Avalon batch, no.  For those waiting for their deliveries, depends on your queue.  Then there are long term investors and day traders.  Day traders may like the ever increasing volume to play with.  Long term investors may hate the volitility. Merchants dealing in bitcoin may also like the increase in volume and ultimately the publicity it brings.  In the overall sense I don't think ASICs ruined Bitcoin itself, just certain aspects relating to it, for certain people.  Bitcoin will continue to chug along, and ASICs will eventually be archived as just another part of bitcoin's history when something better comes along.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is New York Going too far? on: August 17, 2013, 05:46:42 AM
Not sure if it's going "too far", maybe just far enough.  I don't think they are out to hunt down bitcoin/bitcoiners and drone them, but I also don't think they will be pre-ordering asics either.  Might be appropriate to say that they are now more "interested" in the whole bitcoin thing, whatever their reasons may be.  Ultimately, they will probably look to figure out a way where they can take advantage of it somehow while allowing it to continue.
90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ASX Project website on: August 17, 2013, 04:34:04 AM
It certainly did look like one (scam).  The site had images of Apple chips with Apple blurred out, a 10+ year old powersupply, and another chip from texas instruments which they didn't even bother with photoshop treatment.  Their product was a moduler miner at 25GH/s per module up to 6 in one box.  Total of 175GH/s for approx $2400, payments in bitcoin only, delivery within 2-3 weeks of purchase.  Here is the original thread from 4 months ago:

Please understand that the landscape of this forum have been shaped and altered by the countless entities failing to deliver on their promises, quite literally in fact.  Perhaps you could enlighten/intice us with a brief plan on what exactly you need the $20 loin (sic) for, and how you'd go about generating a profit with it.
92  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes a block to be rejected? on: August 16, 2013, 11:58:03 PM
I apologize.  I misread your question: blocks for shares.  Hope it didn't add to the confusion.
93  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes a block to be rejected? on: August 16, 2013, 11:08:50 PM
I can only contribute my personal observation:

I find my rigs that are plugged in (ethernet) always seem to have lower rejections than the wirless rigs.  The wireless rigs are not in the best area for coverage, always hovers between 2-3 bars.  The rigs are exactly the same hardware wise, and I've tested it by starting them all at the same time as well.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / ASX Project website on: August 16, 2013, 10:32:48 PM
Has anyone here made any pre-order purchases with ASX Project? and if so have you noticed their website no longer functions?
