81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Block Erupter Question on: October 31, 2013, 05:57:30 AM
Thanks for the help milone.

I tried using cgwatcher,  but for some reason when I started up the program,  it gave errors trying to download the miners.  I manually placed cgminer in the folder it wanted it in,  then kept running into problems.   Not sure what I am doing wrong.  If I start up cgminer  with api enabled  I can use cgwatcher to monitor it.  But as far as setting cgwatcher up and using it to configure cgminer properly  I am lost.

Right now I have cgminer set up with multiple pools  with balance.   I will try to set it up like you mentioned  after work tomorrow.   Sounds like exactly what I want to do.

Quick question tho. I understand how to create a config file for cgminer,  but not sure exactly how to start cgminer using a specific config file.   I start it up now by using a shortcut to cgminer-nogpu.exe  with commands on the target line.  What command would I use to specify a config ?  I read through the cgminer readme  but didn't find it.  I may have overlooked it.

Anyone have experience with CGwatcher  or Multiminer ?  Just wondering if they would help do what I want to do.

I will look into setting up multiple pools.   I use BFGMiner now,  but just use shortcuts with commands set to open it up  for whatever pool I'm using that day.  I haven't been mining for very long and still learning about it all.

I just used the setup directions at BTCguid  to start up.  That didn't get into setting up more then one pool.

Time to read some to see how the programs actually work.  I haven't tried cgminer yet.

Thanks for the suggestions,  and any more tips on how to do it would be great Smiley

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Block Erupter Question on: October 28, 2013, 10:05:27 PM
Is there any program  or way  to where i can single out block erupters to mine different alt coins.   For example:  Running 16 BE's ,   have 4 mine ASC ,  4 mine ZET  and 8 mining BTC. All from the same computer.

I tried to search the forum,  but couldn't find any information on it.  Might not have searched for the right key words.

If someone could at least point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like CoinEX took it off their exchange.   Is there another exchange that has BFC?

I was also looking into  how to solo mine this coin.

Thanks

Seems like DPR made mistakes from the start.   I never visited silk road.  I had heard about it,  but didn't think it would be around for too long.  Selling drugs will get you put in jail,  no matter how you do it.

the problem is   all the  be's  have a serial number of 001  ,   that link i posted above,  you can download a program  and reprogram the serial number on each BE.    then you will not have hardware conflicts.   To me thats a pretty definite fix.   Once they each have a different serial number ,  windows xp  no longer throws the hardware errors.

Edit:   I will put step by step instructions on a website  and post it for help

Good luck mining! I felt I missed that boat and was better off just buying and trading, since pre-orders are so speculative (and frankly, scammy). Anyway, welcome to bitcointalk - glad to have you here in our community!

Yeah read about the pre-order horror stories.  I bought what was in stock and could be delivered right away.  I don't think I would ever do a pre-order.   It would have been nice to start mining a couple years ago,  but its not too bad mining different alt coins and trading for BTC.

Can you give us suggestions what is the best miner available now? I'm also interested in mining.

I believe there is none, but the best way to profitable might be just buying Bitcoin and keep.

That seems about right.  I didnt start for the profit.   Im not running a mining farm so I dont notice the increase in electricity.  Computer is always on anyway.  Its a great learning experience for me so I dont mind investing some money for not much return.   Some people spend 1000's on video games  and dont get ROI.

now mining is not profitable many peoples now searching new ways for gaining more btc and most of them stuck in gambling which is very bad but its still going on

I have never been into gambling so much.   I figure on one day starting a Exchange and Trading site  and just make a small percent  on transactions.

Hello and welcome. Look around the forum as there is a lot of useful information to be found.
What are you mining with and is everything going according to plan?

Yeah  learning allot from the forum sofar.

I currently am running 9 Block Eruptors on a Anker 9 port hub.   Adding another 9 BE's and hub in about a week.

Everything is going great sofar.  I never expected to make the money back that I have invested  so ROI is not a issue.

Thanks for the welcome.

I haven't made all that much yet.  I'm only mining at about 3Gh/s .  But then again ,  I didn't start to make money right away,  I started so I could learn about Cryptocurrency.   Its a fun learning process sofar.   I'm currently mining some alt-coins  and I exchange them for BTC.

I am also working on creating my own exchange site.  I think in the future it will be easier to make BTC off transaction fees instead of mining them.   I still have a long ways to go on the exchange site,  and even if it never pans out,  its still a great learning experience.

Hey BitcoinTalk Community.

New here,  Hope to learn lots from you all.    Heard about Bitcoin about a year or so ago.   I started mining  about 3 months ago give or take.   Looking to learn more  and maybe help someone out along the way.

Thanks for listening  Grin
