83  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptsy Finally announced they are filing for Bankruptcy. Stolen Coins on: January 15, 2016, 03:24:23 PM
Hhahahaah that blog post was a great laugh.

"About a year and a half ago, we were alerted in the early AM of a reduction in our safe/cold wallet balances of Bitcoin and Litecoin, as well as a couple other smaller cryptocurrencies.   After a period of time of investigation it was found that the developer of Lucky7Coin had placed an IRC backdoor into the code of wallet, which allowed it to act as a sort of a Trojan, or command and control unit.   This Trojan had likely been there for months before it was able to collect enough information to perform the attack."

He might as well have said, "because ponzi".

I don't understand if they found that the balances of the cold wallet are reducting, why they didn't change the wallet? Or they are lying about it?

Well, I am assuming the cold wallet is reducing so fast that no body see it coming and poof!!! gone forever!!! But I really hope they get it back somehow.
84  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: When will you be selling your mining gear? on: January 02, 2016, 07:34:58 AM
In the not too distance future for many it will be time to sell their gear.

In about 4-5 months or so, winter will be over, many usually sell their gear then.

In 7 months, it will be the halving many will have to sell their gear then.

Any month now there could be a new efficieint miner like the Bitfury 0.05W/GHS, so many will upgrade to that and sell their gear.

For me, I will probably sell most of my gear in the Spring and before the Summer halving and keep my coins and get out of mining altogether since the profits aren't what they used to be.

Best time to sell is right now, halving is coming, winter is almost over and 16nm chip is coming to market.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffet advise not to buy bitcoin. Expect bitcoin price to collapse. on: January 02, 2016, 07:34:07 AM
Well, warran buffet is only going to safer investment like a company etc. Btc is like gambling so its nono for him.
86  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New Chip Cements BitFury as Industry Leader in Energy Efficiency on: January 02, 2016, 07:26:21 AM
Does anybody know when 16nm chips are coming? Some producers want to deliver in January 2016 but is there any proof that the 16nm are available?
I can't find any information here.

Okay, it says first quarter of 2016. But not January. So I think it seems to be not doable.

I read somewhere that the new chip will come out March 2016. Bitmain will also introduce a similar spec miner around that time.

Woohoo, where did you read that? I am interested in bitmaintech new spec Smiley. antminer s8 incoming?
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Long term OIL on: January 02, 2016, 07:23:23 AM
Oil will rise to 180

When post was made price for UK oil was 36.55

Targets:
Short term 20-25
Long term 180

Long term prediction could be fullfiled between 2017-2019

i wonder how you know about oil price movement?how about now,is oil price have touch 180?or still 36.55?
if oil is a good comodity to trade, where i can trade it?

I dont think oil will touch 180 ever again, company is slowing shifting the technology to electric, solar and battery.
88  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will halving affect the value? on: December 20, 2015, 01:10:12 PM
Got a bad feeling that the pre-halving pump is already over done, after the halving the value would drop back to the pre-pump level.
89  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share Your Methode on: December 20, 2015, 12:41:38 PM
Hello Friends
Please I Request from all of my friends and Brothers That
Please Share your method of how to make steady income as bitcoin
Please Share
Your Method
Of how to make 1 Bitcoin per day
or how to make 1 Bitcoin per week

Well, making 1 Bitcoin per week is easy, you just need 30 TH/s. But making a profit of 1 BTC per week isn't easy especially if the difficulty keep increasing and you have electric bills to pay Sad.
90  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Horrible Idea on: December 10, 2015, 02:17:23 PM
Who wants to hear the worst idea possible? Still reading... your loss. This is the basis, in my basement i noticed that the floor stayed pretty cool, and my miner got a little warm. I was thinking about putting a large water block against the concrete to cool the water coming from my u2. Yes i know this will never be profitable, and water cooling it is absolutely idiotic. But i figured that if i boxed off the radiator and threw some fittings on there it would be a fun project to waste my time and burn my wallet. Any suggestions on how to waste my time and probably soak my u2.

I dont quite understand what you are trying to do here, but making a hole and blowing the heat out is better idea.
91  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining farm in Romania on: December 10, 2015, 02:13:02 PM
Hi guys. We did this interview with a mining facility in Romania. Now, we had some technical difficulties with the sound, and yea...I know it s not our best work. I just wanted to show you this cooling system they had, I thought that in spite of the video not looking at its best it s still something that might get you interested.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZHM8-3RxF4

The giant fan in the video is scary and it sounds really loud. Isn't it better to have multiple smaller not so dangerous and noisy fan?
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: December 10, 2015, 02:11:10 PM
Is it safe to keep all of my assets in Bitcoins? And how Department for Combating Economic Crimes, can affect my account?  What permissions they need , to freeze all my money ?

50% is the max bitcoin you should have, you don't want bitcoin crashing and losing everything. Also I keep my BTC online exchange like bittrex, coinbase etc, I never trust myself even if its cold wallet. Smiley
93  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: December 04, 2015, 04:16:14 PM
Put your BTC in bitfinex and earn interest, bitfinex have most of their funds in cold wallet so it is pretty safe. (not 100% safe so don't come blame me if anything happen Smiley.
94  Economy / Speculation / Re: 232 days before bitcoin block reward halving on: December 04, 2015, 01:10:56 PM
Either BTC price increase double or miner difficulty drop half (maybe 30-40%). So efficient miner continue to mine like nothing happened. Sell your old miner now before its too late.
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Europe reseller/seller on: December 04, 2015, 12:59:51 PM
I am in US only Europe one I used was - https://www.bitshopper.de/ .  It was to get a Europe compac model. It was a nice addition to my collections.

One thing to keep in mind is when you look at Europe resellers the Vat/Import tax is pretty high so miners sell for higher.  One thing you might look into is hosting center somewhere without the vat unless you have a extremely cheap or "free" electricity plan.

A 20 percent or so vat can make it hard to ROI in some cases.

Thanks for your reply. I have free electricity, so that isnt my problem. ¨

EDIT: seems like most of their products are out of stock.

Not worth the investment at all, the 20% VAT is a lot and you would not ROI even if you have free electricity. Don't forget the bitcoin halving is coming soon too.
96  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: s7 with loose heatsink, fix in house or send back to china on: December 04, 2015, 12:57:38 PM
Just fix yourself, shipment charges ganna be so much more then the repair cost. Use tape if you have to, but make sure its the tape is not in the hot zone as it might melt.
97  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mining Farm on: December 03, 2015, 10:44:33 AM
Hello Guys,

First of all thank you all for your valuable feedbacks. I have again recalculated my figures based on 100 Spondoolies SP50s. This is the link to that calculation. Could you guys please have a look at this ?

https://btcserv.net/bitcoin-mining-calculator?hashrate=11&hashrate_unit=peta&currency=USD&difficulty=65848255180&block_value=25.00&btc_rate=324.53&watt=1657000&kwh_cost=4.2&kwh_currency=INR&hardware_cost=5000000&hardware_currency=USD&pps=0.000000000152

Also, the place of the proposed server farm is kind of a hilly area with snow peaked mountains surrounding it. Average temperature during summers is maximum: 22C and during winters is 2c. Will it reduce my cooling costs.

Based on the calculation, the website did not factor in bitcoin halving which will occur in 6 months time. You will need to manually calculate using excel if you want to factor in the halving.

Will take few months to set up miners this scale. Make sure you don't save cost on your wiring Smiley.
98  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mining Farm on: November 21, 2015, 03:19:17 PM
Dont forget that Bitcoin halving is coming, by the time you get your investors and your mining equipment. You might only have few months left and no body know what happen after that but miner is sure to be at disadvantage.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sgminer v5 - optimized X11/X13/NeoScrypt/Lyra2RE/etc. kernel-switch miner on: November 20, 2015, 05:09:35 AM
Anybody have a fast x11, x13 miner to share? The one I have is only 3.8mh/s per R9 280x for x11.

the easiest to use is wolfs binaries for x11 ... you will get a lot more than that hashrate - at least 11MH for a 280x ...

https://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/2o1yoz/rewritten_x11_binaries/ ...

instructions on how to replace the built binaries with wolfs ones are further down the page ...

if you still have issues - ask here Smiley ...

#crysx

Wow, thanks for the quick reply, will try it later. Smiley
