81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP market cap manipulation? on: February 01, 2019, 04:18:06 PM
The market cap of XRP is possibly manipulated at a large scale, published on different crypto news during the last days. In fact, half of the current market capitalization could be faked in favor of XRP. You can read more on cointelegraph: https://cointelegraph.com/news/report-xrp-market-cap-could-be-overestimated-by-billions

Another reason to stay away from XRP.
Sometimes, it looks very interesting to see the rate at which xrp pumps and dumps.
I have for long known that xrp is a coin that is meant to enrich some sets of people, most especially those who are holding very large quantity.
When it wants to pump, it is then you would see some sorts of partnership pooping up in the news or any for of update. Immediately they cash out their profits, it will start dumping.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $98,90 Ethereum - New critical mark. What will happen to the projects of ICO ? on: February 01, 2019, 04:17:46 PM
Despite the price of ethereum, some projects are still working out fine.
I could remember, when ethereum was seriously dumping, at the 2 digits stage, some coins like XYO, were pumping.
I also believe that there were couples of other projects that also surged at that time.
So irrespective of the price of ethereum, some ICOs or tokens will still be fine.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you short cryptocurrencies? on: February 01, 2019, 03:21:38 PM
I have no idea how to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most times, i do not buy coins when they are just listed. You would need to wait and see what the market dictates, buy both buyers and sellers. Although, that does not mean you should wait for too long. A coin after a week might reduce by -10x, most especially with the present situation of the market.
There are exceptions sometimes. Which mean you would need to study the project and follow their updates.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Old coins vs new coins on: January 30, 2019, 12:50:01 PM
Old coins in my opinion will rise, if btc price should reach the last ATH that was had, but most of the old altcoins might not attain their own last ATH, except the individual coins rise on their own accord, perhaps due to some developments.
I also prefer to invest in the new ones, but one must be careful while doing that, because there are so many shit coins among them.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto songs on: January 30, 2019, 12:44:18 PM
One of the easiest means through which you can promote any engagement or venture, is through music. Songs on cryptocurrency has been a tool used in propagating and creating more awareness to the world on blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
Seeing celebrities come into the crypto world these days looks interesting and its a sign of good things to come.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Decentralized Exchanges on: January 30, 2019, 12:42:50 PM
The author has really made an impact on this forum with this thread that has been creating. I am still trying to imagine that, there are as many DEXes as this.
We truly need this awareness and its high time they are now promoted, because they seem to be the safest, most especially those that have been tested and have been in existence for quite some time.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRUECHAIN - VERY interesting alt! on: January 30, 2019, 12:38:24 PM
Although the market generally is down, but i expected that TrueChain with a total supply as low as 100,000 should gave a higher price than what i am seeing.
Considering the arbitrage trading, the price seem to be at aggregate value now. Whenever this happens and you intend to buy low on a DEX, it might take a long time.
It looks interesting and i will keep watch over it.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will end the hype of ICO ? on: January 30, 2019, 12:28:05 PM
Every day more and more ICO collect money, and then disappear. Do you think we need sanctions for ICO?
If scam ICOs can be sanctioned, then it might be this best, but i do not think it can happen as thought.
Scammers will not want to reveal their identities and will try every means possible to ensure that they are not caught. Except if they are from a countries where activities on internet are carefully monitored by the government and if they they are ready to apprehend them.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans for this year on: January 30, 2019, 12:22:10 PM
There might not be much dump as was experienced in 2018, but that does not mean coins will not dump.
2018 should have thought us a lot of lessons, on how to be careful while investing in coins.
I can still see some coins like CPT pump with 400% increase, as well as some other good number of coins, while some are dumping.
A lot will happen with surprises in thus year.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP competing places with ETH? on: January 30, 2019, 12:18:40 PM
I am yet to develop interest in xrp, despite its competing prowess with eth. Perhaps its because of my reservations on it, which is its centralized nature.
No doubt, xrp can bring some profits for someone who is able to trade it well, which is why some people are very much interested in it.
With xrp, you can easily switch, by buying when it is low and selling when any increase is noticed. All the same, it's about pump and dump.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid ICO scam. on: January 27, 2019, 08:54:29 PM
Although, it might not be that easy to detect and to do the required research for every project, whether it is scam of not.
Reading white paper is not enough, but that after reading, you should be able to drill the team with questions.
This is best done most times by crypto experts. So you might look for one that you can attach yourself to.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: yobit.net Scam or not ? on: January 27, 2019, 08:49:58 PM
I know yobit to enjoy and always want to list tokens without any formal application backing it up.
Most of the tokens I have had and that i have seen traded there, don't usually perform well.
Most times, if they eventually pump, there is every tendency they will still dump.
Yobit cannot be seen as scam exchange, because they are still carrying out their activities as supposed.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Value investment tool for altcoin on: January 27, 2019, 08:46:34 PM
Sometimes it baffles me when I see coins I initially expected ought to keep up with their prices plunging in the market.
This is sometimes affected by the activities of traders and their plans is to always buy the coins cheaply at their initial stage of listing.
Some coins have actually succumbed to this. Which are seen through the investors relinquishing their coins to them.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 first quarter market prediction on: January 25, 2019, 08:56:03 PM
Usually, the beginning of  a thing is very important, but sometimes, there are some exceptions.
A short, but big news is enough to turns the whole things around for good and bring about a speedy recovery.
I am seriously eager to see that moment and i believe it will come.
2019 looks promising, but a lot of factors need to be considered before making any investment.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Gaming and It's Future on: January 25, 2019, 08:51:00 PM
Those who are into games, would like platforms like this. This is one of the areas where one can get a lot of adoptors.
Many of those who play games are ready to pay anything for its usage, so there is immense success that is imminent for this industry.
Although, bring uo so many blockchain gaming platforms, might make a lot f scam projects to also invade such area, because hey see them raising fund.
I do not know how welll they succeed, because i know of Gamex. Look at its present state. It shows that a lot needs to be done.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICO's Dead? on: January 25, 2019, 08:44:39 PM
On the contrary, those who invested in scam ICOs are still remembering till date. An experience of such cannot be forgotten, because they were cheated. Some have worked so hard for the money, so to forget might be very difficult.
ICOs are still very much around and i am glad to see some succeeding. Those succeding have got something unique to offer the world, which is why investors will trust and invest i them.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful of strange projects on: January 25, 2019, 08:40:31 PM
I understand the fact that scammers are trying so many means of defrauding the innocent ones, because a scammers himself will not invest in such.
These are some of the areas exchanges need not also look into. They are not meant to list such tokens, because that can make  some investors to fall prey, thinking it is legit and that was why the exchange listed it.
For instance i have seen a coin bear XRPC, looking like XRP itself.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cryptocurrency has come to stay on: January 22, 2019, 08:48:42 AM
There is no gainsaying that cryptocurrency is one of the strongest investment platform in the digital world.
Despite all the agitations, media attacks, government attacks and attacks from groups and individuals, yet it is still going.
If cryptocurrency will end, it ought to have ended long before now and would not have survive to see year 2019.
One of the strongest points of cryptocurrency, apart from the technology, is the community.
Instead of the community reducing, it is increasing, because more people are becoming aware of cryptocurrency allover the world. Even if some seem to have taken a break, more people are being added.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Advice for Bounty participants on: January 22, 2019, 08:25:46 AM
Sometimes, bounty can be very frustrating, most especially when you find yourself promoting scam projects almost every time.
It is better to promote just one project that you are sure is genuine and will pay you well your reward, than promoting so many scam projects.
The most tedious part and maybe disappointing is promoting a project for a long time and at the end, you get a peanut. This once happened to me and that was when I promoted DIW.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should We Trust Blockchain ? on: January 22, 2019, 08:17:35 AM
It is like saying, you have a pure gold, kept in a compartment that can either be broken or not. The pure gold is the block chain, whose form cannot be changed, because it is already pure.
If the compartment where it is kept is in form of a glass, plastic or wood, they you should know that it can be broken and the gold be taken away.
The same can be likened to block chain and a weak security system used in saving of keeping it by the owner.
So every party, exchanges, ICOs, individuals and the likes, making use of block chain in one form or the other, should try to keep their system safe by improving on the security.
