Raaahhhrg! What's happening to me?

I'm not at home so I can't check what's going on my puter... Why would I suddenly get all my hashing rejected??

I've seen wireless routers do this, might need to reset your internet connection.

Also, why don't you use Teamviewer or Chrome Remote Desktop to access your miner(s) remotely?

People suggest this a lot, but what if your rig is running on Linux (as mine is)?

You can install XRDP which allows you to remotely control your Linux machine if you have the desktop just like RDP in windows, it allows the same protocol. If you're running your mining client in a terminal, then just allow SSH access and run your mining client in a new "screen" by doing "screen -S mining". To see how your mining client is doing just do "screen -R mining".

Actually I already do this but it's a pain in the arse.

I'm running bamt, with 2 instances of cgminer (290's and 280x's don't play well together)
I connect to my rig from work through ssh but it's shit because my ip changes all the time (i think i can get around this with no-ip) but more annoyingly i have to manually connect to each screen and i can't see the pretty bamt web ui graphs and shizzle. Also 1 of the screens is sketchy, if you try to restart the second screen (the one that bamt doesn't start on it's own) it crashes, and you can type but you can't see the words and strange things happen.. the only way to fix this is a reboot of the rig by physically pushing the button.

Yeah, I've noticed screen can be buggy sometimes, for instance you can type but it appears nothing is being typed when there actually is etc. Have you tried exiting the screen and then re-creating it? That'll fix that issue I just described.

Anybody?  Undecided

I managed to get it to stabalize at 195Kh/s using these settings for Reaper:

Code:
worksize 256
aggression 19
sharethreads 8
threads_per_gpu 1
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 3200

Then for Catalyst, I had 930Mhz Core Clock / 1300Mhz Memory Clock.

Is there anything else I can tweak so it'll hit 200Kh/s? When I start up Reaper, it goes straight up to 200Kh/s then falls back to 195Kh/s and hovers around there.

910Mhz GPU Clock Speed
1200Mhz Memory Clock Speed

Reaper:
worksize 256
aggression 17
sharethreads 8
threads_per_gpu 1
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 3200

I get around 170Kh/s+. I have 1.50GB of DDR2 RAM in the computer.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Reaper - Can't get 200Kh/s+ with 5770 on: January 07, 2014, 12:55:41 PM
Hi

I've tried running reaper with my 5770 graphics card which is dedicated towards mining and I can't get over 170Kh/s+ when scrypt mining. When I read the hardware comparison for the 5770 HIS which is what I have, I attempted the clock settings which are supposedly meant to get 213Kh/s but I only ever get 160Kh/s, even with the command line arguments. I've tried using cgminer but it keeps crashing for some reason. I'm not using the beta driver, I'm using the latest AMD Catalyst available. My main PC which has a 6870 and that's got the latest driver too, and that runs CGMiner fine.

Any ideas?

Well as far as cryptsy taking forever to load, I know you're right and that's for sure. I had to hit F5 twice just to get it to load, and I don't think that's s problem on my side when I get 150Mb Down and 12Mb up. Including the fact other sites load in under a second +- 1-2.

Research chemistry and biochem in my own personal lab. I'd love to develop a mechanism to cleave the gene that builds the ccr5 protein, out of a genetic sample. This would be the most important step in preventing HIV from attaching to a host cell. Could also cure AIDS patients

I'd sure donate to you if I could.

What exactly is a mobo? Maybe it's being re-routed so the NSA can put a tracking device in it?

It's slang for Motherboard.

I'm pretty sure if it fake, eBay could take action against the seller, right? :p
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 500W PSU power issues with 5770 on: January 03, 2014, 12:04:46 PM
Yeah, I meant this. That should work since it's drawing power from both rails, I'm just ashamed it didn't work from one, lets see what the results are once it arrives Smiley

Should work fine with both. When just connecting one molex, you just power 3 of the 6pins. Wink

Ah! That makes sense! Derp  Cheesy

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 500W PSU power issues with 5770 on: January 02, 2014, 04:01:27 PM
Hi,

I've had a spare HP Pavilion for quite a while, it was used as a homeserver. Until now, I wanted to use it for some scrypt mining. I bought a 5770 off my friend and installed it along with a new 500W PSU from eBay (here). After wiring everything up, the computers fans spin up and down spin down and if you listen carefully it's as if the graphics card isn't getting enough power. How can this be? I'm using a 500W PSU... Unless it needs to take two molex connections to the 6 pin connector instead of one which is what I tried. I'm awaiting my cable to see if two molex's will do the job. If not, what to do?

Thanks.

I'm hashing at around 270Kh/s-300Kh/s. If you check my address on the site "1FuRWyGKNb6vJeuvJZnbiUwVdSMfaEyJBA" is that reward right or should I be earning more? Sorry for stumbling another question like this after many, just want to be sure.

Dude from what I see , its fine, your not hashing for a full 24 hrs each time you you start mining its never a full 24 hrs which is why your seeing your shares this way. SOmething is either failing on your end , or you yourself know that your not mining for 24 hrs.

Infact out of the whole graph that I can see , Not a single day it shows you mining for 24 hrs straight. So the rewards are fine fpr the amount of mining your doing.

Right, that's fine. It's only a test since I used to be earning quite a little bit more when mining like this. Should I see an increase in rewards there when I mine 24/7?

Ofcourse! If you mine for 24 Hrs Vs 10 Hrs? What do you think is going to happen? The more you dig for gold the more chance your going to get some. And WHen your Pool mining this is a 100% fact. Aim the miner at the server and let it rip 24/7

Heheh, right, let the mining begin. Cheers for the clear up. Sounds pretty dumb, but the more you know, right?  Wink

I registered, also PM'd about moderation etc.

Excellent idea from Sunny Wales !!!

Will join up now...

Can anyone recommend a decent priced Motherboard to support x5 GPU's ??

I want to put x2 direct on x16-x16 risers and x3 on x1-x16 cut powered risers with two PSU's.

Thanks

I've only ever seen a mother board which can hold 4 Graphics Cards. Try looking at Scan or Ebuyer.

"Shitpost" - wtf?

"promise the server will be up at least 60% of the time" - What's wrong with the other 40%?

I have something like 450-500 and I get almost .01 per day.  It's not anywhere close to a week.  It's more like 2 days or so if we have a bad day.

I used to be getting that, but can't tell due to these issues :/
