If you mean dump by selling and not buying back, then that's just normal for someone who's been holding in a bear trend for over a year.
Shorting on the other hand is a good way to protect the value of your portfolio.
Other reasons include businesses or profitable traders who just sell their profits for fiat.

Filipino couple amasses at least P900M in alleged Bitcoin scam.
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Police have nabbed a couple promising easy wealth through popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa announced on Tuesday, April 10.
Arnel and Leonady Ordonio were nabbed by PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives – the police division in charge of high-stakes and high-profile crimes – in Vigan City last April 4 through an entrapment operation.
The scam, Obusan said, is structured like a pyramid scheme but with electronic money.
The Ordonios apparently had middlemen who lured people to invest. They promised to pay victims with their earnings every 15 days.
Fueled by the worldwide Bitcoin hype, more and more people were baited by the Ordonio couple's promises.
The complaints started piling in when investors lost contact with the Ordonios.
Whats happened next?
Around 50 angry victims stormed to Camp Crame on Tuesday, asking the couple if they could still get back the money they had hoped would grow.
Will bitcoin be banned because of that?
Philippines is a nice place and a nice people so I don't think they entertained for this kind of online income to get banned.They will never do this and I'm sure of that. |

This is my opinion.Banks won't make you rich.saving in bank can never do that,because of interest rate that bank gives you is too tiny.You saving will be simply be eaten up by the sleepy monster called inflation. As a example I will take ,When I'm in grade school,each day I received 10Rs (my country currency) from my mother.It was enough to by me 2 meals,but in now 10Rs enough to buy 2 candies.  Banks are just for keep your money safe!  Yes,if you invest your money in bank it won't make you rich so better invest your money in bitcoin because there's a great chance that you become rich in here. Absolutely.Bank will never us to make rich because of the interest they provided to make us down.But for bitcoin I'm surely predicted everybody will become rich as long as we are striving hard to make this happened to our life. |

Bitcoin is seen as valuable due to it being decentralized. In my opinion, since it is non-taxed in some countries and away from the government, the demand for bitcoin increases thus increasing the value of bitcoin. Compared to physical money, it is easier to invest with bitcoin. However, the downside of bitcoin is there have been numerous scams with regards to bitcoin.

actually, trading is my side job. I work 8 hours a day, Monday till friday, but I'm working a lot in front of my computer. And my work doesn't disturb me while doing this. Mate I have also my strategy and that is to joined bounty program and a holder of tokens and coins.This is not easy but I have a potential to make my profits grow. |

i think not it is a little bit overestimated to say that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin because ethereum is still not to be not limited to a certain supply.
For me Mate if Ethereum will overtake bitcoin maybe for how many years but not now.It is impossible but for me It's hard to level with bitcoin in terms of value price. |

I think that bitcoin will be used everywhere in 10 years and will cost more than $70,000. It cannot be otherwise. The whole world is switching to a non-cash exchange, and bitcoin is the best of non-cash payment methods. IMHO

For a regular consumer's point of view, I think it's a risk they are willing to take due to Bitcoin's rising popularity and demand. Big corporations (I think) also have the means to venture into adapting to cryptocurrency as they are well funded.
