81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next best alternative cryptocurrencies after bitcoin? on: December 31, 2014, 03:03:31 PM
2.0 platforms such as ripple, nxt, and stellar represent a sample of what is to come.

Those are the best bet for 2015.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - Redefining 2015 - Colored Coin 'Fuel' [NOXT/NOCC] on: December 30, 2014, 12:12:59 PM
I think Rofo will upate us soon Smiley

He always delivers without making big noise around it

That's the truth Smiley
83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to invest bitcoins on: December 29, 2014, 04:09:08 AM
The only legitimate projects are few and far between. Check this out and see if you can see the potential of 2.0 platform with business oriented roadmap plan:

NobleNXT (NOXT): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.0;all
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How in the FUCK are you supposed to know what's legit? on: December 29, 2014, 04:03:56 AM
Seriously...between each community fluffing their own coin and the haters on the "neutral" boards shitting on every coin that's just past it's prime, how are you supposed to know what coin is the most prudent investment?

I understand that "research" is worthwhile, but there's only so much you can learn from a coin's website.

For one thing, the developer fully disclosing his face, name, country, business  number and contact info including his cell number might be a good start.

Like this guy and his projects: Rofo (aka Jason L. Curby) twitter https://twitter.com/NobleCoin NobleNXT etc.
85  Economy / Economics / Re: why do people agree to pay taxes? on: December 29, 2014, 01:56:43 AM
why is it ok for a group of people calling themselves the government to force everyone to buy their services?
if enough armed people refused to pay and told the government to go fuck itself there is nothing they could do.

Let me ask you another question OP.

Why do people agree to live in a country? For that matter, why do they agree to live alongside other people in communities and benefit from the inclusion, while denouncing the cost of belonging to such a group?

Once again, why do you agree to live in A COUNTRY? A community?

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Surge of Legitimate, Open and Public Projects - NobleNXT Leading the Way on: December 29, 2014, 12:55:22 AM
Since December of 2013, we have seen piles of cheap scammers, pump/dumpers, fraudulent exchanges, and myriad of fake cryptocurrencies that destroyed trust in the community.

No more.

I would like to say we can find gems in the sand if you look for them. For one, Rofo (aka Jason L. Curby, developer and leader of Noblecoin) has been an honest, open developer who disclosed his identity and worked as a professional in a scene full of anonymous shadows that seem to disappear and reappear under different names for their next schemes.

Mr. Curby's twitter/linkedin/personal financial disclosures Shocked/business number in Australia:

Twitter: https://twitter.com/NobleCoin

LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/jason-curby/27/9b8/994

Australia Business Number: http://abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?abn=92119945303

Personal Financial Disclosures: https://www.noblemovement.com/public-ledger/

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=402667.msg9250285#msg9250285

Yes, personal financial disclosures. I suppose you can always ring up his cell phone and ask over the phone about any questions you have (note the number on the NOXT flier): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.0;all

From my point of view, this scene desperately needs a REAL, MOTIVATED people who can approach these things with necessary professionalism and serious devotion that Mr. Curby has shown throughout the whole of past year (he was essentially paying out of his own pocket for maintaining marketplace, Noblcoin itself, and others).

His most recent project, NobleNXT (NOXT), is just another testament to his professional approach to this idea. ANN here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.0;all

Over half of it has been sold already though NXT and BTC on poloniex and secureae.

Whitepaper itself is over 100+ pages long Shocked encompassing understanding, planning, and vision that reaches out to realistic plans for coming (some already arrived) wave of regulations, demand for legitimacy, and official PUBLIC business approach to the potential of cryptocurrency. Legitimacy, legal issues, financial backing and proper crowdfunding along with working side by side with established financial/regulatory bodies is one of its chief goals from what I can tell - he has recently traveled to Canberra, Australia (capital of AUS) to discuss setting up think tanks for cryptocurrency itself and essentially taking a very realistic, viable approach to fighting the adoption/influence battles that honestly not many are willing to do so in person.

All feedbacks/questions and attention should be directed to Mr. Curby (Rofo). Let this thread be a public one to bring attention to this project and discuss the its merits. With so many threads out in alternative currency section discussing respective projects, there is little reason why one such thread for this professional project shouldn't exist.

Let the discussions begin Smiley

Will watch this.

Greetings guys!

Greetings, and welcome to noblecoin community.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I doubt we'll ever go mainstream on: December 28, 2014, 08:43:32 AM
Crypto may go mainstream one day. BTC? Less likely so.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple about to become the next kingmaker? on: December 28, 2014, 08:33:38 AM
just stay away.  it's centralized, so it's not going up.

Centralization of some sort is inevitable, and has its appropriate position. It is in no way a liability from realistic perspective.

Unless you live in a fantasy world, you should recognize the idealistic decentralized paradise is beyond your reach, at least for the foreseeable future.

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blocknet, Etherium or Maidsafe - which is the best? on: December 27, 2014, 12:55:36 PM
blocknet was a scam by prometheus pump and dump group as far as anyone knows.

Etherium is shady with their 'we might not even finish our project with your 20k btc investments' written in fine print on their actual contract. Not to mention many serious financial officials have doubts about its viability or vision. It just sounds way too unrealistic or vague.

Maidsafe - not much knowledge in that area. As far as I know, little in the way of scams or scandals such as those above.

91  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese bears vs USA bulls, which one will win over? on: December 27, 2014, 09:20:39 AM
In all fairness, the chinese exchanges have a degree of manipulation that dwarfs US exchanges, just like that of corruption comparison in both sides.

US will be the driving force in 2015 and beyond.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOXT] - NobleNXT Proposal/Whitepaper - Noble's 1st Colored Coin on: December 26, 2014, 01:02:24 PM
Wow, I am so looking forward to the burn. I do not quite have 1BTC worth of NOXT, but I have still seen so many of these crowd funding projects take off in the last couple months that I a still looking forward to it. There was one that drew me to and helped me to discover the NXT AE.
I hope these go through the rough also. I would like to see them go to at least 1BTC each.
I had a question about the burn. You said you were burning them at a rate of 17 satoshi each, but they were worth more than this when I purchased them. I almost got out, I hope I was not wrong in thinking I would regret it if I did not purchase some back.

Rate depends on the amount of btc raised. If You bought nobl at a higher rate, you are at a loss if you burn them. You could also buy additional nobl at current rate for the burn, or, very probable, expect noxt price to at least double/triple in the future.

Right on Smiley
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOXT] - NobleNXT Proposal/Whitepaper - Noble's 1st Colored Coin on: December 26, 2014, 06:46:29 AM
It would be just under two days from now, however we are thinking of extending it two more days if we have to. There is more info. due to come out shortly but Christmas and family is more important and conflicting a little with the dates (allowing people to soak up info. and get back to me). Smiley

I'll be releasing a lot more either way. Merry Christmas everyone!

A lot of people are out for christmas and I think a few more days will be a great idea to give more people a chance to take interest Smiley

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOXT] - NobleNXT Proposal/Whitepaper - Noble's 1st Colored Coin on: December 24, 2014, 10:38:37 AM
All info. is in the ANN but feel free to PM me. I'm in the capital again to print a bunch of docs (will post), have some meetings and prepare a final presentation for private people interested and social media.

This look quite promising, how long will last the crowdfunding (IPO), also in a few words in which companies will use this coin and how do you intend to be able to be one of the good ones as there are over 500 cryptocoins in coinmarketcap and we all know 90 per cent will be a failure, they all say they are here to stay and say big things, how do you intend people to believe you with all the scams and failures coins out there promising heaven, To me your coins and presentation look great but how will you convince people that you are coin worth to invest?

From what I understand, very few have actually officially registered their person as a business in this manner, not to mention a track record of persistence and continued support for nearly a year since creation. Developer is not some anonymous no body on the forums - he has quite clearly stated his intent and identity from the beginning.

If you read the whitepaper, you will find many reasons that you ask - I think as a starting point just having a government registered business being presented should give you a good idea of what to expect in the future. Remember, this project is getting started, and unlike those 2000 or 20,000 btc ipos that promise heaven than fall short of their false hype, this is doing things slow and correctly with a modest, reasonable amount of crowdfunding.

So far, I see little reason to doubt the intentions or ability of the developer to carry out his stated goals and vision.

Again, consider this a beginning. You can hardly expect a crowdfund to begin with all of its goals already achieved. Crypto is a newly emerging technology, and such modest beginnings are the start of a cycle of positive reinforcements from my point of view.

I understand what you are saying and if I am here its because I like how it looks all, but there is one thing I don't understand, why to create another coin like NOXT when exist already NOBL? why not to do all with one coin?

Please bear in mind I am only speaking from my own understanding - Jason L. Curby is the best person to ask for solid answers regarding these questions.

From what I know, NOXT and Noble are two fundamentally different projects from a technical point of view - Noblecoin is a scrypt based, decentralized crypto currency while NOXT is NobleNXT - built on 2.0 platform and issued as a colored coin/asset as a crowdfund.

Not to mention, if you read the whitepaper there is an emphasis on 'brand' of each project. That does in fact make a difference in two projects even if you somehow disregard the clear technical differences.

The way I take it, what the developers DO with the coin is the important part, and that takes time to set up and reach out. It's the action based on the brand and name of the coin that makes each project unique, or so I understand, instead of all the 'differences' supposedly set in stone from the beginning.

Once again, please contact rofo for all such questions. Smiley

only 10 BTC left on poloniex Cool

That volume is decreasing slowly.

PLEASe can someone explain this instead of writing 2 words, is there an IPO going on and how does it work

There is an ongoing crowdfunding, which for purely intents of purchase is more or less the same as and IPO. You buy however much you want from the amount offered.

You can buy them with nxt on secureae (https://trade.secureae.com/#6780060819348751348) OR buy with BTC on poloniex here: https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_noxt

If you have nobl, you can also contact rofo directly and ask to buy NOXT for Noble - your coins will be 'burned' and you will receive NOXT in turn.

I highly encourage you to check out the NOXT whitepaper and thread through the OP and the pdf flier images posted there thoroughly.

To chime in on the comedy news: The bobsurplus is a good one, I read it earlier. The other one for this week is, that our beloved troll barabbas' (you all know him?) is an aging mexican actor called Jose de Vega.

http://www.josedevega.com/

isnt the internet a wonderfull place?

Is that actually true? Pretty funny if it is! There a link to the convo?

have a look at the NAUT thread, which he hijacked and basically killed (there is a moderated thread opened by a community member now):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=591114.5720

Someone stated that Jose de Vega has deleted his tweets, but I havent checked that. Have a look at the youtube video on page 288 too.

Honeypot, I rarely buy ICOs, because it makes it super easy for scammers. This is the exception, one of the reasons is rofo. I tried reading up on noble the last weeks, and what you wrote is totally my impression, too. I wouldnt be here otherwise. Sorry if it sounded differently, that wasnt intended at all.

oh no was just commenting on riverboat's comment.

Yes, I agree that rofo made all the difference possible. This is crowdfund done right, with long term vision not a bunch of hype raising buzzwords and obvious pump materials.

Professionalism is in play now, and it's high time devoted, professional, and motivated people are supported by the community instead of being tossed on the wayside in favor of quick pump and dump groups.
