81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Hardware for BitCoin on: September 06, 2017, 08:31:51 AM
Hi.

What kind of different hardware is availble these days for mining Bitcoin? It could be good if you just could post the hardware that is used. Don't mind if it is profitable. I see alot of diffent hardware, but I don't know if it is for Bitcoins or AltCoins.

Can this hub be used for 2PACs?

What thread is that?

Is there a new project going on, since it is imposible to get any one of 2pac?

Can you use Minera on RPi 2? I'm trying to get WiFi to work on my RPi 2.

When I have cable and WiFi connected, I can see that both cable and WiFi gets an IP, but when I take of the cable the WiFi is disappearing. I can't get in contact with the system.

I have been followed the link you wrote earliere.

Do I have to do something else for me only to get access by WiFi?

Did you get an IP address for your wlan0 interface? Can you get something from system logs?
Did you put your correct ssid and wpa password?

What's output of "ifconfig" and "iwconfig"

As I wrote I get an IP for both cable and WiFi, so to answer your questions the answer is : Yes. But as soon I take out the cable and boot I don't get any IP for the WiFi.
How can I get something from the systemlog? I don't have any IP on my system now where I'm at.

EDIT: But googling this I merge other solutions. I just skipped this part from wpa_supplicant.conf

    proto=RSN
    key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
    pairwise=CCMP
    auth_alg=OPEN

and now it works.

Sorry for being lame, but how do you setup a gridseed to work with this?

I looked at the WiKi, but could not figure it out.  Embarrassed

Plug in it
Go to settings
Add correct pools for Scrypt algo
Select a preconfigured miner as Cpuminer
Save settings
Start the miner

If you need more please post your configs so we can look at something

Thank you.

I did what you wrote, but it dosen't seems to work.

RPi 3 + Gridseed 5-chips.

Not sure what else of config you would like.

What doesn't work? Did you check the logs in the dashboard? Is it starting but not hashing? What miner software did you choose? Can we see a settings page screenshot?

I'm sorry but your requests lack of many informations to give you some support.

Sorry.

No local devices found
No pools details

Picked a preconfigured miner options:
cpuminer --gs3355-detect --freq=838

Is it powered the Gridseed? Try to reboot with everything connected and powered.

Jeps, but for some reason it is working now.
Thank you.

If I remember correctly, each rig consumes about 10 kbits/s, not really much, and I doubt it will get noticed by anyone.

Not even if it runs 24/7?

How much data is transfered/retrieved when you mine for coins?

Br

do you mean internet data? it's not much, the mining activity consume very low amount of internet, but the real problem is when you saturate a router maximum amount of data with many rig connected, it's better to buy a powerful router, to not get many lost shares when you use many rig with one router, i had this issue before, because i connected 4 rig to one old router, and my miner was disconnecting all the time, internet was working fine though

Ok. thank you.

I'm trying to setup a very lame rig on our corp WiFi and I don't want the rig to get much attention.

you need newer cards even for fun... money makes fun  Grin

But it can be done. I know it might not give me any profit. I just want to get startet and see how it works.

Try to go to ethermine.org and look into how to section. You will find all the answers you need there.

 Huh

I don't see any "How To Section" and I can't see how to sign up in the ppol.

A simple minergate GUI app will get you going with Ethereum mining. They are good with NVIDIA cards.
But I think you'd need at least 3GB graphics card to at least start as my 2 GB GTX 820m showed not enough memory error.

Where do I find that?

Hi.

I have at my work a lot of Nvida Quadro 2000 cards.

I will try for fun to mine ethereum, but I don't no where to start.

What software and what pool should I use?

Hope a kind soul will help me out.
