I went to a Ben Harper concert a few years back in Berkeley and Ben jumped in the crowd to hit a fat one and saw his old friend Carlos Santana in the crowd and he convinced him to get on stage and jam with them! We were watching from the moon so we couldn't believe our eye's!  Cheesy

Im gonna try some of this GSC so im headed to the chamber to burn one down.. Thought i would share this moment and pass the torch.

Ben Harper - Burn one down  Cool

I saw Santana over a decade ago when I was a kid, still the best concert I've ever been to.  I think I saw Van Halen that year too

I hope maxcoin will destroy dogecoin because it is a disgrace to crypto currency world! this is serious bussiness not a joke like shitty dogecoin is Tongue

No "ordinary" people will buy/sell using dogecoin. just look at the logo, joke man, joke...

Fool. 55 million marketcap does not look like a joke. A community of hundreds no... millions of people is not a joke. It's something new, something different. Dogecoin is mindblowing.

Such coin.
            Such Currency.

Eat a dick.

He is the joke, maxcoin will never get close do doge, and i'll enjoy watch it try.
They're both joke coins with no long term plan, I don't expect either to last

Re freshmarket :

Quote
I'm really sorry to say this, but it seems that our security system wasn't enough.
Just now i received a message from someone that he has hacked our exchange, and if we want to stop this, we have to pay 10 BTC. Obviously, we are not going to pay our users' money, and we temporarily closed the exchange. We have made an secutity audit to see what's missing, and found ~1200 LTC stolen (nearly 40% of all LTC),  nearly ~50% of LEAFcoins, and ~20% NYANcoins. All other currencies remained nearly unchanged.
Just now we deciding what refund can we make (dev team has nearly 200 LTC on their own, and i can give up some too). We will make a message after we have an agreement. We will 100% refund all other (not-leaf, nyan or LTC) currencies, and try to refund as much ltc as we can.
As i see, it was sql-injection, but it doesn't helped him much - all passwords are stored as hashed ones. So he just brute-forced all low-security passwords to steal their money. So if you haven't got email auth - it is possible that your account was just jacked.

I also have possible ideas about openex malware in source code, but without proofs i can't do anything.

had 650POT in there.. hopefully you guys didnt have much either... going to try get that back :/
Sounds like Potcoin was unaffected unless they were jacking account and dumping altcoins for LTC to transfer out

Hey guys, anyone mind letting me know where to find the wallet file for Potcoin-qt on OSX?
When you backup your wallet you should be able to save the file anyway.  I've saved directly to different drives and usb sticks so it's hard to say, I never use Apple products so it's all foreign to me
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: February 05, 2014, 03:21:57 AM
Either way... there are plenty of smaller pools to throw some hash rate at, including Pot.CripToe.Com.

I've mentioned it before, but statistically, you will earn more coins per day on a smaller pool than a larger pool.  I'm not sure exactly why, but try for yourself and see.  I typically see at least 10% more profit on pools that are in the 40-100MH range, than pools that are over 100-200MH.  I see this with my TAG pool, which is ranks as the top or second highest hash rate pool in the world for TAG.

I recommend using CripToe's pool, after this week of continual ddos attacks he is the only one to stay up, plus there is a block reward bonus and 0% fees
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: February 05, 2014, 03:19:14 AM
we need people to mine on some other pools other than pot ogres because we have about 80% of the network right now.

EDIT: 90%+ of the network, prepare for a fukken fork.
yup and my GTX 560 was hashing at 10MH/s according to their dashboard earlier so I think you could be wrong
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] First bounty for the PotCoin Community !!! on: February 05, 2014, 02:36:45 AM
Sell a half finished Android potcoin wallet.
Began already 2 days after launch but was short on time the last days.
I've forked dogecoin wallet and dogecoinj, rebranded everything except images, changed some code but was then stuck at compiling potcoinj and generating the genesis.
So i want to sell it because i don't know how much time i can invest in the next days and i don't want to be a Day late after investing so much time already.
Perhaps someone wants to finish it.
So, what's to do ?

Edit graphics.
Compile potcoinj, needs some edits for Genesis and checkpoints.
Compile potcoin wallet

Pm me when you're interested.
did you find anyone?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2014/01/29/medical-marijuana-will-be-on-florida-ballot/

Correct me if im wrong .. Cryptsy is in Florida?

I can think of a really good reason why POT is not "on" yet!

Hopefully Floridians go can vote..

This has nothing to do with the legal status of MMJ in Florida.  It has to do with an internet coin that uses the name.  We're not trading drugs.

-Fuse

potcoins are a crypto currency whos sole purpose is to be the default currency for "medical marijuana" where it is legal! i think the legalitys of it all is very relavant.

From potcoins.info (about page )

PotCoin was designed to empower, secure and facilitate the Cannabis community's daily transactions. The now legalized Marijuana industry is calling out for its own distinct crypto-currency - PotCoin effectively forms a global community with each coin holder a participant anchored in this new economy. On every level of the Cannabis industry users can trust PotCoin to lend credibility and security this exponentially growing community. We are here to give our full support in all ways possible to this incredible industry and build this community together

--

So no we are not trading drugs but we are using a currency whos sole purpose is too facilitate the cannibus industry which is only legal in some places.. one of which "maybe" florida after the coming elections.. and hence the reason i brought it up!

They don't specify what the coin is used for. The cannabis industry isn't restricted to dispensaries/the actual drug.

Try convincing a judge that..

If you are some flyby night russian exchange you dont have to consider that but if you are in the states and you want to operate above board which i think Cryptsy does..   You must consider the legal implications. There is a grey area there.

You'd have to be very naive to think Craptsy is anywhere near a legitimate exchange.  Their servers are never running properly, people constantly have deposits and orders stuck, plus there was even the bug which allowed you to withdraw into negative funds.  I have a lot more faith in BTC-e which actually operates with a little integrity.  Cryptsy adds any and every coin because they desperate to soak up everything they can while their scam still runs.  Has anyone even been to craptsy before?  I mean I've actually been to Vault of Satoshi and they have a huge operation compared to them and have such less volume.  I'm all for going to bigger exchanges but crypsty is not any place I would trust with my Potcoin.

I'm going to try creating an android app.  It will be a learning experience but I'm going to try me best.

Would you be able to send in a padded envelope to Canada, I had no problems with USPS sending my Antminer U1s that way.

If not I could only order if they would come in by Monday since after that I would have to wait another few weeks to start mining
98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: antminer u1 overclock bfg on: February 04, 2014, 06:37:02 AM
you need to do modify the hardware to go over 2Gh/s , I think it requires replacing a resistor
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: February 04, 2014, 12:55:59 AM
This is why this coin needs Kimotos Gravity Well, this will force a block diff regtarget every 1 block so when these big guys come on and push the diff up and then go we are stuck on high diff blocks, is also effective with the same effects caused by multipools. These big guys will push away new miners and interest in the coin. Look at the effectiveness this has had with KDC (Klondike).

http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/1tbtdm/suggestion_implement_kimotos_gravity_well/
I never thought the Kimotos Gravity Well was necessary but the mutlipool effect seems like it is needed.  We need to prepare for getting listed on larger exchanges and getting ranking on coinwarz where we will attract the attention of those just looking for the fotm coin
