81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: August 03, 2014, 08:31:16 AM
It seems to me that devs who buy a lot of their own coins and brag about it are most
likely trying to pump up the value just so that they can dump their coins and  make short
term profit at the expense of others who trust those devs.

One thing I really like about ANC is that the devs seem to be spending their time working on
creating a coin with more use and value than bitcoin, rather than spending time trying to
convince others to buy their coin.  And if that's the case, then whatever ANCs they
are holding will balloon in value.  If that is the case, then keeping ANC low profile so
that they can be bought cheap for as long as possible (until the strongest anonymity
to date comes online and the public gets wind of it) is the smartest thing to do.

If you take the time to read up on ANC info out there, and stop worrying about frequent
updates, then you will take a long term view.

But if all you want to do is buy and sell for quick gains... well, there are plenty of coins
good for that.

Maybe, if you take a look through the list of ANC wallets (link posted in an earlier post),
you will find many people are holding ANCs.  That might tell you something.

We go up to 5.5$  : )

https://coinmarketcap.com/

EDIT: bug , but good to see rise for a moment   ; )

I don't think Anoncoin will move much until ZC is implemented.
People were excited months ago, but since all that took so long ... they lose faith.

It's just like with many other coins ... slowly but surely people want to see significant improvement in a Coins development. Most of the people however don't know reality very well and that delays are normal, such as problems in development.

So true.  It's far better to progress slowly but successfully, than to rush it and ruin an otherwise world-changing coin.

If somebody didn't know, you can see rank of ANC addresses on this list

This is cool.  Thank you.

"Other thing what is missing this community is voting,
maybe we can vote for every decision,  and on that way we attract more people into the conversation."

I think you are right, if people are able to participate more, they might participate more.

"From that we get to another "problem" , Who will work on forum logistic ??"

What do you mean?  What is needed with regard to the forum?

Here is a mutlicoin tipping app on facebook which is looking to add a few alt coins to their servers:

Get on and vote for ANC... all press is good press, right?

Bittrex
9h
A BTC market will cost .8 BTC, and a BTC and LTC market will cost 1 BTC. Which plan do you want?

The plan that tells bittrex to fuck a goat.

There are enough honest exchanges and more new ones almost daily. No pay to play for real coins.

Today anc is number 14 in volume on cryptsy. Sometimes it is higher, sometimes lower, but cryptsy makes a lot of money as an honest broker for anc trades. If an exchange lists anc they can expect it to consistently outperform most of their coins.

Glad to learn that bittrex is pay to play. I have less than 0.1 btc there but I will be closing that account.

+1

Asking for a fee to participate in the market is insane.  Bittrex will list ANC soon just because of ANC's value.  Hopefully we will remember this and ignore Bittrex.

It looks like the pool at anon.cryptcoins.net is down.

I've been mining there exclusively even when there were hardly any other miners...

So, I'm on www.anonmining.com now.  Much smaller, but much steadier earnings.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: July 17, 2014, 06:50:01 PM
Is the Zerocoin implementation going to be trustless? As I understand it, there's a key that needs to be destroyed. If that can't be overcome, this coin has no future.

You just shook my knowledge and belief,
right now selling all of the ANC, and you set buy order,
then I will buy DRK, total anonymity with only 2 millions premined

4) Lastly. Least important. Shiny things like anonymity perfection that 90% of folks, like me, don't worry about too much.

While I agree with your points I disagree that this is least important. As the crypto-sphere gets more and more regulated people will want options for black market dealings, and absolute anonymity will be the major requirement for the winning coin.

I really don't believe that only black market dealings will be a factor here.  Many people are just plain uncomfortable with the idea of anyone, especially government agencies, tracking their purchases, even mundane, daily shopping- but also such things as medications and other private but essential consumables.

So, I agree that anonymity is far from the least important factor in the long run.

So it has been over a week since my ANC withdrawals "processed" yet I still have no coins. I have submitted multiple tickets to support, but they couldn't be more useless. This is a lot of money for me and I see that this is a problem a lot of people are having. Has anyone actually gotten their coins yet?

Yes, in fact a couple of weeks ago I transferred my coins out without any delay or trouble whatsoever... this was unusual, however.  Most times it takes at least two attempts to verify and get them out.  I can't imagine what Cryptsy's difficulty could be, unless it's simple market manipulation and not actual technical problems at all, as someone else suggested- but I'm not there working on it so I don't really know a thing about it.  As it is, I don't put any money at all into Cryptsy, I just mine other coins and trade for ANCs.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: July 04, 2014, 04:11:51 PM

Sorry if I am rude, but what is more related to anoncoin than anonymous and fairplay politics? Most of the people who will be drawn to this coin in the next upwave will be drawn to the political association of the name.

At the very least maybe a link page with a broad choice of libertarian and pro free speech sites, maybe even activist sites like http://photographyisnotacrime.com/

Again, anonymity is only a feature, in a few weeks or so it will be easily pasted into the code of any coin. The core of anoncoin should be something not so easily copied by the hordes of new flybynight coins. Its anonymity appeal will pass quickly but if it helps people network with likeminded folk, and inspires a bit...

If you or k1773r create a resources link page on the wiki I will try to populate it with fair links and any that seem inappropriate you can delete.

93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Mazacoin ** FAKE Sovereign Currency ** on: June 24, 2014, 04:08:56 PM
LOL.

Brewer's "Council" have absolutely ZERO authority to make any claim, either regards MazaCoin or regards sovereignty in general. The only people who recognize his "authority" are sympathizers with the USA and their BIA and FBI armies. Please.

As for statements by the Treaty Council and Elders. They do not work that way. They operate by consensus and verbal acclamation. And several have gone on video and we published those. That's the only "statement" you are going to get.

Brewer is at best a land manager, at worst a collaborator with an enemy nation. He has authority to fix the streets and collect the garbage, nothing more.

I am done here. BitCoinTalk is a cesspool of racist bigots. Go say the pledge of allegiance to the flag of your nazi-facist nation and we'll take care of MazaCoin.

Please provide links to the video statements you reference above.

I hope you are for real, and that this actually does some good for the people you claim to represent.  If so, do not take personally the attackers and skeptics.  These are to be expected.  Be thick skinned if you are actually trying to do good.  Be steadfast.  Be here, be open and informative, and ignore the naysayers.

BigVern @cryptsy
We have corrected the issue with ANC withdrawals. We apologize for any delays

So... is it fixed, now?
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: June 19, 2014, 04:12:28 PM
Just a note to all here that my company now supports Anoncoin and this privacy project.

To show our support we are giving a 5% discount on any of our products and services when you pay with Anoncoin.

Keep up the good fight!

http://KeepYourAssets.net

This is *very* interesting.  Anyone who uses these services, please write about your experience here.

But, KeepYourAssets, don't be surprised if not many ANCs are spent... I think most of us are holding until, well, you know Wink

Hello drAGon925,

I apologize for the inconvenience. ANC withdrawals are currently delayed. Our technical support team is aware of the issue and we expect to have a resolution soon.

We appreciate your patience on this matter.

Sincerely,
Stephanie
Cryptsy.com

= I Hope we will have many other exchanges with high volume on all of them!!!

I have the same problems these last few weeks with Cryptsy. Others coins too:
http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/287wou/boycott_cryptsy/

The problem is that we depend on them. This is the only exchange with a good ANC volume.
If you dont switch exchanges, volume will always be biggest on craptsy.

Can  you suggest another decent exchange for us to migrate to?

Hi everyone

Just wanted to post an update regarding http://anc.hashfaster.com

We've upgraded everything, new theme, new stratum, etc.  I am not sure where everyone is mining ANC now-a-days but I figured I'd bump in to let everyone know HashFaster is still proud to operate an ANC pool.

ZC

I can't seem to login now.  And the auto-payment function is not working for me.  Ticket sent May 19th(!!!), and still not resolved & no contact for over a week.

meanwhile, anon.cryptocoins.net is giving me no problems at all.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: May 22, 2014, 10:36:47 PM
Just a 'heads up':  the hashfaster ANC pool is not doing automatic payouts and there is no provision for manual payouts.

I put in a ticket to support on May 19, three days ago and the situation still has not been resolved, although they did ask
whether I was still having trouble on the 20th.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: May 15, 2014, 02:29:45 PM
Hi @,
I love the concept behind anoncoin.

IMHO here we have a problem, we need to know that things are going on

The last post on twitter was written 28 of april, and now we know that the zerocoin will not be implemented, the the zercoin's devs stop to develop it in favour of zerocash (that will be presented the 18).

We need a sign from meeh or one of the devs; the community sometimes is at least as important that the features implemented on a coin.

This is my thought

This cannot be stressed enough... so many of us would be willing to devote more time and treasure to this project *if* we had some frequent updates such as a quick post here every other day or so.  I know that folks are busy with earning a living and volunteering and developing, but *faith* in the project and it's eventual completion is essential, and the long periods of silence make keeping faith more difficult than necessary.  My 2 cents.

Has anyone in the last week withdrawn ANC for Cryptsy? I'm still waiting on two lost transaction to get sorted out but in the meantime would buy and withdraw some more coins if I can... I know sometimes it will take a few days to see the transaction but here there aren't any txid's. Just wanting to make sure I  could still buy and get some coins out or if I would need to wait until my prior transaction fixes itself...

I have had some trouble with delayed withdrawals.  Try clicking again on the verification link in the confirmation email sent by Cryptsy.  That worked for me.
