Thank you for solving wallet problem, so glad to have Bittrex back up.  Look forward to Poloniex add with NXS re-brand.

Cheers!

I just found a crypto podcast with "Hex" from Cryptopia as a guest, August 6th https://soundcloud.com/errorbytrial/blockchain-dynamics-episode-23-862016#t=2:14

What is the problem though?  NIRO wallet has been up and down on bittrex (at least I've noticed) for the past few weeks.  Is the issue a Nexus - Bittrex one, or Nexus alone?  Or, for that matter, a solely Bittrex problem...?

As I understand, from following slack, all the problems stem from somebody mining directly to the Bittrex wallet.

So, a problem with far less than 1% of the outstanding NIRO has halted functionality for a week+ on the only exchange with any substantial NIRO liquidity.  This tiny error condition could do the same damage next month, based on a small handful of miners who might make the same mistake, that NIRO cannot prevent.  The exact same problem could/could not happen to BTC or ETH.  The probability of someone repeating this error, frankly, is reasonably high.  Somebody correct this analysis, because this is why would-be buyers of NIRO are not buying.

I believe in the NIRO development team greatly, but these are my concerns.

I agree.  I have not had any issues trading on Cryptopia.  Deposits and withdrawals are very fast.

Poloniex, the community of Nexus would greatly appreciate your add of Nexus to the Polo Markets. I for one love trading on Poloniex. Nexus is growing organically and the community continues to expand and draw in real talent. Colin has made an excellent coin, has an excellent plan, and is going to grow Nexus into a top contender cryptocurrency. Outside investors are already entering into the crypto market through Nexus. Please take careful consideration and add Nexus to your exchange. Thank you!

Also wondering when Nexus will be added to Poloniex.  It's been on Bittrex for a LONG time.  I've requested this coin on Poloniex for over 1 year, and volume and interest is growing RAPIDLY at the moment.  It's now trading on Cryptopia as well, but another high volume exchange would provide amazing liquidity and additional arbitrage opportunities.

Very glad to hear about Cryptopia.  I'm a big fan of small exchanges that are secure.  I wish Swisscex was still around, that was a great small and secure exchange.

Nexus Release 0.2.0.3
https://github.com/Nexusoft/Nexus/releases/tag/0.2.0.3

Release notes included in link, OSX, Ubuntu, and Windoze wallets compiled under for this version.
Update 0.2.1.0 - LLD Experimental Core coming later this week. Testnet Trust Update coming next week.

Let me know if you have any issues.

Thank You,
Viz.

Firing it up!  The block index is still taking quite some time to load.  Will report back in a bit.  (Windows)

Edit:  Ok it took ~3-4 minutes on my windows pc.  Wallet is syncing relatively quickly despite having only one connection.

Do you have any suggestions to help me acquire more connections?  I usually max out at around six.

Edit2:  Still one connection after 3-4 minutes of syncing.
Edit3:  Still one connection ~ 10 minutes
Edit4:  One connection after 15 minutes Sad

Hopefully someone has some insight.  I've shut down nexus-qt for the time being.  I will keep the wallet open permanently when this is resolved.
Keep swinging guys, thanks!

Edit5: (yes I'm OCDish)  I've got a lot of shit in my roaming folder for nxs from early 2015.... I deleted everything but the wallet.dat.  The wallet loaded instantly and acquired multiple connections to the network.  BRAVO!

Perfect, clearing out those old addr.dat files should have made the difference there.  The blockchain downloading is still slow but the wallet loading was only 10 seconds for me on a Macbook (although that's before the whole chain was downloaded).  I'll update later once I get the chain completely downloaded

Videlicet and I are currently testing the new QT client compiled for Mac

Wallet loaded in ~10 seconds, had 8 connections within 30 seconds, downloading the NexusChain significantly faster.

We will keep you guys updated as to when this is up on Github repo and ready for download!

Sure I'll post some updates to the address manager in the newest update. So far have the base LLD templates done and working great, the load time is reduced to < 1 minute compared to 15 minutes using berklee DB on my currenct computer. Working on new website that should be up in a few days, article coming out on bitcoin.com next week most likely, marketing some fb ads soon as well.

Trust update coming as testnet first by next week, mac wallet done you can check github if you would like to compile yourself, running some python scripts to create the *.dmg.
GUI updates coming as well with another dev who has decided to help in the project, finalized the architecture of nexus and 13 spheres that create it, new logo, trade symbol update to NXS in the coming month or so (depending on funds).

Will keep everyone posted on further developments, also don't hesitate to make suggestions. On new site I will make a NXI section for Nexus Improvements and Suggestions. Let me know if there is anything else you need.

And Pineapples, worry not, I'm checking into your issue further now. I apologize for my absence on this thread, been quite busy. I hope you all understand Smiley

Thank You,
Viz.

This is good news.  Is it possible to participate in the test-net by running a -testnet flag on the QT?

clear as day scam lmfao!

Why do you say that?

Nexus is definitely not a scam, and I would know, because I've seen quite a few of them go down.  If you were around since this network was launched, you'd know that nobody here since the beginning was really interested in pumping or hyping the project on a financial level - it has always been about long-term organic growth. I am hardly invested in this project financially.  If I wanted to accumulate hundreds of thousands or millions of Niro I would have done it.  Most people here are running nodes and participating in the network and helping each other, that's all.  Niro started as a long-term project of exploration and conceptualization from it's original name of CoinShield.  We worked on his project while we did our day jobs or whatever else we needed to do to survive, but now Colin and Kierre are working to bring the financing to fund the business and development.  The key is coming up with real world solutions that can be marketed and sold.  If we can build real proof-of-concepts (POCs) throughout various industries, we will eventually strike gold.  One option worth exploring is launching a Nexus satellite into space as a means to gaining notoriety and demonstrate the technology used in a new way, such as recording the satellite data into the blockchain directly from the outerspace node to broadcast transparently from the satellite in a decentralized fashion, everyone can pickup on the data across the planet that has the wallet because everyone can view the ledger.  It doesn't seem like most people are really interested in building out public ledgers for the good of transparency and information.  That's another real innovation of the blockchain not often seen as a benefit.  Blockchains (decentralized ledgers) can be used to obfuscate transactions but they can also be used to provide unparalleled transparency and trust, depending on how the ledger is utilized by the end-user. There's a lot of potential for this technology in new industries, such as building out decentralized infrastructure for the planet just to provide trusted public information.  People could donate or even pay for additional information and access to satellite services and fund new add-ons for the satellite, or even a second or third satellite.

We are talking next level shit here.

Hi guys, I'm still around, running a Nexus node, dropped in to say hello!  I will be very busy next few weeks but will try to pop in more often.  Cheers, keep up the good work Viz!

Hey ladies, all you NIRO holders ready?

Your patience will be rewarded soon. Big pump almost ready here.

Not a scammy pump. It'll be a fair pump. Nexus deserves a much, much higher MC than 60K$ ...

Little bit more patience gentleman, we're looking at you closely. Wink Wink

If we could get NIRO listed on Poloniex, there would be a good opportunity to bring the market capitalization up much higher.

Anyone smell a pump....

Maybe....buy support has increased.  The person who controls the top few wallets at Trex has not been very active recently.  If all the fake volume starts again that will be an indicator to me that something is brewing.

Perhaps someone will buy the book, like they did with BBR the other day?!!

Any news on getting added to Poloniex yet?  Some of the savvy traders there will be/are looking for alternatives once the ETH bubble breaks.

well price closer to 1k would be nice

Just waiting for the new release from Videlicet before approaching Poloniex.  Viz had to work with Bittrex to help them integrate Nexus trading, and we expect the same thing with Poloniex.  So, we do want to approach them but it's best to wait for the next build.

I have submitted request forms and talked to them in their chatbox about adding Nexus, but they seem to be too busy at the moment.  I think Busoni is the only person who adds new coins and he is very hard to get a hold of.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nexus [Niro] - Pure SHA3 + CPU/GPU + nPoS + 15 Active Innovations + More to Come on: February 06, 2016, 01:35:46 AM
ill never understand why this project doesnt get so much more love

IMHO it is because there are no uses for Niro yet, the majority of holders are speculators rather than users.  Bittrex is now the home of the scamcoins, Niro needs to get listed on Polo to enable a new audience to come on board.

That's true, I think Viz just doesn't want the hype so he can work more relax on Nexus without a bunch of people pushing for upgrades, on the other hand its been a year already, more and more coins are coming out and old coins getting better and better, is a new release coming in the near future to give some fresh air to Nexus?

Actually, this is true.  The reality is that those involved in Nexus are very busy with other jobs and businesses at the moment, but we are actively forming ideas and laying foundations for the future.  On one hand, we need more coders and developers to build tools for Nexus.  On the other hand, the projects we are all working on that are separate from Nexus might be just as important for the future of Nexus.  You can see updates to the code and last I heard from Viz he is getting close to releasing an update. Viz might still be using a private repository for the moment as well, but im not actually sure https://github.com/Nexusoft/Nexus
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Zcash? on: February 01, 2016, 11:47:35 PM
I use Shadowcash as my altcoin besides Bitcoin. It's more than sufficient to meet my needs in terms of anonymity and security.

PoS coins like SDC can never be as secure as PoW.

I think hybrids can provide even more security though, especially when using multi-channel mining alongside a staking channel, although it hasn't been proven, it adds an extra layer of randomness and protection from sequentially mined blocks, obviously this has been done before but I think Nexus is the most well developed test-case https://github.com/Nexusoft/Nexus/wiki/Currency

Nexus has no anonymous features though.  Zcash looks really solid on this front, I hope to mine it
