I suggest you don't use bitcoin in this case for short term transfer, because there is a possibility that bitcoin value decrease and you don't have enough money to pay your tuition.

However, I believe as an long term investment, it is worth it.

On my first thought, there are a few safety issues:
1. Bitcoin users have the safety issue of being hacked and then the transaction cannot be reversed.
2. 51% attack, it has the possibility of being 51% attack

Of PoW and PoS, PoW is much safer than PoS.
I have heard about PoB, and I think it doesn't associate with safety issue
