81  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: July 16, 2016, 03:49:47 AM
Exactly what the title says.

If bitcoin dropped to the price of a dollar (which we hope it never will), what would you do? Buy more and hold, sell? Buy a promising altcoin like ETH?

I personally would buy more bitcoin.
I will also buy more bitcoins @ $1 it will be a dream come true and fuck ETH. ETH is having unlimited coin supply so it will always decrease in price in future, but bitcoin having 21million coins cap will be safe heaven.

If price goes that low then people will go crazy for sure, either by panic or to buy as much as possible, it will depend on individual how he views and react to the situation.
The Bitcoiner will change to fiat money because he won't see anything different in bitcoins he'll just think it is worthless and never use it again.
if Backup is needed then they'll just use there job wages instead of digital currency
yes and i will also not use it any more. i think at that time the bitcoin will be consider as dead. so no one will like to invest in inactive coin. but my personal view is that it is difficult to happen so.

Bitcoin is not dead untill the last few miners and hosted nodes get shut down. At $1 per coin I will buy as many coins as possible. With such a low market cap you can basically see your investment double in value in just a single day. There will always be money making opportunities. What others see as a failure, is seen as a great opportunity by smart people. Wink

Buying would help with the rebound and bugs can be fixed. Overtime the price will rebound and if people are invested in BTC they most likely should be able to survive WITHOUT their investments anyways so if they sell out, when the prices rise again they'll most likely buy in again as an attempt to gain back what they lost. I would totally buy as much BTC as I can afford to.

When are they going to remove the test currency?
83  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: July 15, 2016, 05:20:04 AM
I would love to get my salary in bitcoins. There is not much problem but if I have to choose then I will take fiat because I cannot use bitcoins in daily real life and exchanging them to fiat will cost some fees so I will choose fiat.
Yes, nowadays due to the lack of facility and shops for bitcoin people prefer to fiat, But I am not like that I will like to accept my salary in bitcoins with bitcoin when I receive my specific salary on the next day it will be increased and the other point is that I can sell my bitcoin at higher price on exchanges.

yeah, that is a good feature of bitcoin that its price increase with each passing day, so with this I will also like to get my salary in bitcoin I will also like that after getting my salary it increase on the next day and what a lucky will be me when the price double up in a month and i get double of my salary.

The same argument can be used the other way though, what if the exchange is 500 (in whatever currency) per BTC today but it falls to 450 per BTC tomorrow? I realize that to win some you have to lose some but unless you're amazing at predicting when is best to exchange AND have self control not to spend the emergency money, being paid in fiat is much easier.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had suddenly 500 BTC on: July 15, 2016, 05:12:24 AM
I wouldn't transfer the BTC to my bank account.

But if I had to, I would do it in small amounts when I need to/want to spend the money.

I would spend the BTC without transferring it to usd.

Converting it sounds like digging your own grave doesnt it? I'm sure anyone would convert if it was desperate conditions but the idea of just converting it just to have it in their currency, in a bank or not, is asking to be shot or jailed.

I definitely not quit my job but convert enough, or if I can I would use the BTC straight, to pay off any debt I have at that time and just live comfortably rather than doing something drastic as moving to an isolated island. But to each their own, to others I'm sure my plan sounds crazy.
85  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: July 15, 2016, 04:53:32 AM
Intercontinental feeless* money recieve&send function.

feeless*: a few cents might be accepted as feeless.

Don't forget its much faster and without a system that limits the amount that can be sent.
86  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Favorite presidential candidate on: July 15, 2016, 04:48:00 AM
Until this thread I had never heard of Gary Johnson but that's most likely due to how the major news corporations only cover candidates that bring in enough money to pay for that time slot, which practically requires inference of mass corporations. To be fair though, Bernie Sanders, who I've decided to vote for, is most likely as well known as Gary Johnson.

Elections are really a game of who can pretend to be for the people the best, though all the major/well known candidates are there for the mass corporations' benefit.
America is an oligarchy.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Deflation and Bitcoin, the last word on this forum on: July 14, 2016, 07:09:23 AM
halving will not change anything unless the price of bitcoin expected to increase
Well I agree with you man. But halving do bring 1 change, and that is the miner's profit for mining bitcoin. That is the only change it bring to bitcoin.

You know some systems, when you change one variable, the system gets out of balance. It rebalances and afterwards all (or most) variables are seen to have changed.

Since the halving is only happening once every 4 years that gives plenty of time to stabilize the price, if the price rises as will demand to a certain degree so the deflation will only hit when the demand is unable to keep up with the price rise.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: July 14, 2016, 05:52:10 AM
Nope Bitcoin is separate, and the bank is different. I think no people will take a risk in this. Because in Bank our money will be safe and it is our old storage. If anything happens bank, people will help us. IN Bitcoin it is not like that, It is very easy and helpful I agree, But security wise I prefer Bank.

But what if there was a bank-like system made of just BTC? (Though it'll never happen, it's just food for thought)
If the issue is trust then I think just trusting something because its been around longer isn't the greatest plan, that system feeds off of blind trust. Trusting a bank over BTC isn't wrong but before trusting one over another maybe length of existence shouldn't be the only deciding factor.
89  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it illegal for someone to hack my BTC wallet? on: July 14, 2016, 05:35:18 AM

So,

1) If they hacked into my machine and stole the private key; (illegal)
2) If they sniped the pk while snooping on a public access connection; (illegal)
3) If they brute forced the private key into existence; (not illegal)
4) If they snapped a shot of my private key qr code over my shoulder at an ATM. (not illegal)

What if I claimed an address on the block chain with a signature and 3 or 4 happened?  Would I have a case then?

If 3) happens then all Bitcoins become worthless and the question would become:  If I take something which is worth nothing is it illegal?

Well I guess you could argue that even though all Bitcoins are now worthless they still might have sentimental value.

Haha well I doubt we'll get there anytime soon s don't you worry Wink you just keep on HODLing.

It is illegal to steal digital goods. It's a fact. But to others' points, the authorities will most likely do nothing or start a haphazard investigation and in the end getting your $500 back from a hacker off the coast of Taiwan won't be a priority. Giving those punk kids their $150 speeding tickets will meet the quota nicely Smiley

Great justice system huh, "make sure you arrest about this many people"
Back to the subject though, authorities would most likely just brush anything being digitally stolen as things they "don't have jurisdiction over" so why even bother? sure it's illegal to steal things, physical or digital, but if the authorities don't follow up then whats been stolen is just gone.

Awesome. I tried the dice and its pretty awesome . Claim faucet working perfect  , the bets are fast . No problem so far , already 50k bets approx . Great going . Waiting for you to add the chat .

i also got some of this coin in ico it will go up soon

This coin has done nothing but go up from day one on the exchange and you are right it has only just started, it will be going up much much more. My prediction is over 10,000sat in the not to distant future.

Very well said i keep looking to hold my LIR also and wait for the big pump and it seems really that this coin have high potential to rise more for this upcoming days well let see for more and really keep looking forward to see LIR to hit your prediction price.

the lag can be a problem. shogdite what is the plan to fix this. if you have 1000's of users the site can crash.  Sad

The same problem as i shogdite should do some upgrade so mobile user can use it smoothly with less hassle will keep looking forward for more about devs future plans

I think this coin should not get a big pump now itself , because many ICO buyers will sell off to make small profits and we will be in trouble. I hope this coin's price gradually increases .

Well the price has been going up steady at a good rate so that is a good sign to me. Going to say this is because of the beta release and when they continue to release things interest will continue growing

I think auto rolling would help mobile users a lot. Since this is just an open beta I'm sure there is still a lot of development left to do.

Tested out the new game and gotta say I'm liking where things are headed. Keep up the good work!
93  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: July 13, 2016, 04:44:56 AM
The main reason is that bitcoin is fast like if you want to send money to your family you wont have to go to a bank and wait 3-5 days .
yeah with the bitcoin digital form will be more flexible than paper money or cash. so bitcoin was made for the currency in the future. so in digital form instead of cash

Sending money with bitcoin is faster and cheaper. Banks have been overcharging us for centuries. The only thing we need now is a better way to pay/receive interest and the banks will have nothing to stand on.

A system that pays to invest in, much like a bank, would indeed help with moving away from our currently system but then the issue would be that the public doesn't trust new technology based things in a heartbeat. The older half of the public would definitely would actively look for flaws but not admit the current system has more flaws, digging their heels into the dirt in an attempt to stop/slow the progress of technology.
"We've always used this system, its worked for xxx years so why do we need to change it now?"
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 13, 2016, 04:22:56 AM
Oh there is a big difference between both:
You can actually produce gold :3

I mean btc is all virtual whereas you can physically produce gold.
Ok it's not everyone but you got some jobs that do exactly that!

Well another difference is the potential gain from the investments and assuming that the OP wanted all assets in one currency or another, both have advantages and disadvantages. You're right, gold can be produced but BTC and gold share the trait of being worth what people believe its worth. Owning BTC can be a job just like watching the price of gold, it really depend on what angle you look from, gold may be a bit more stable but it doesn't mean the price cant plummet.

What I'm basically trying to say is that BTC and gold aren't that different and it really just comes down to if the investor is willing to lose his whole investment for a chance at tripling or quadrupling or if they would rather a more stable gamble.

Looks like LIR went down a bit since I checked but imo I think that's good news I bought a little bit under 2k and I swear everytime I see it drop it just resurges to a new height
96  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: July 12, 2016, 05:52:38 AM
Yes, but in 20 hours after halving, maybe something will change in better way or in a bad way, who knows. Anyway better to wait frist befor investing.

I don't see any changes from it's price yesterday I thought that the price will just increase suddenly.
But I am wrong maybe it will just going to increase slowly.
the price is pretty much stable at the moment and i dont think that anything is going to change any time soon unfortunately though i hope that we will soon see a price growth so its a wise decision to buy 1 bitcoin now
But, the thing is, we don't know where the market is going any time soon, so i'd just buy 1 BTC and hope for the best.
therefore if you don't know where prices or bitcoin market will go you must choose price and the right time to buy. You can not just buy bitcoin at any price. of course it might be any harm if the price subsequently dropped. therefore you have to do research beforehand

Yes you really can't but bitcoin at any time. And you really need to consider it once you are going to invest in bitcoin.
But I say that 1 bitcoin is really a small amount if you are going to invest for a long term investment.
Better make it 2 or 3.

2 or 3 btc(1,300 or 1950 USD) seems reasonable since the value of btc seems like it will keep rising; only issue is with the value rising so much one cant help but feel paranoia that its going to get so big that the number of people using it is just going to tank which ripples into the value dropping.
If you're able to survive without that 2k being fluid then this is a good investment, but definitely just expect this investment to magically grow. Watch the value and flow of the btc.

Once traction builds you won't need to be asking people to use LIR or anything like that, they'll be adding it themselves Cheesy
We've been stable at 2k now, I'm hoping for 3 next.

1700 + 1750 wall eaten, next stop 1800!  Smiley

That is a good sign. I didnt expect the price to bounce back up before i went to slp. It seems like LIR has caught several attention even before the dice game is out.

I think once LIR can stabilize above ICO price it will really start to take off
99  Economy / Speculation / Re: 350 USD in August on: July 09, 2016, 10:12:42 PM
It's coming

Whaou, that's not only pessimistic, that's nearly unrealistic ^^

350$ is nearly the half of what's right now!
It's... really low. Why would we see such a drop?

I think this is a poor attempt at a halvening joke, the price halving
