81  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The cost of electricity in the world on: December 13, 2014, 07:09:46 AM
.09$/kWh

Interesting price ,  but what is the name of this nation ? Maybe is it in Asia ?

Actually I live in the USA. We have even cheaper electricity on the east side as low as .02$/kWh. GO WASHINGTON STATE!

I believe I just need one board, maybe two. I'll test them out one by one this weekend.

Sorry this is a hot mess Canary. Hopefully some good news comes soon about possibly organizing a return compensation of some sort.

I am trying to unload my headache right now actually....

Canary told us to individually approach about initiating RMA. I'm still debating if chasing some tiny compensation is worth it. Frankly I don't even want to get this POS failed miner back.

Can I send it back and get a refund at the Group Buy purchase price of 1.47BTC? I'll pay shipping and will even send it back with a BE Controller, on me.

Currently have a decent offer (1BTC shipped) via PM. I'll entertain offers for the rest of this week.

Well I got good results with mine> but  a really finicky machine.

I could do 1400gh with 1200 watts  all day and all night long.

 but It :

 1)needed extra fan for cooling.
 2) would not underclock and hold the settings.   if I set it at lower freq it would start at 950 watts and 1100 gh and over night be 1050 watts and 1200gh

I did not feel I could travel away from it and leave it alone.  I do this with my s-3's and now with my sp20's

I go on short 2 day trips and the antminers and spondoolies hold onto the underclocks.

I turned mine back in for a small loss.

oh not to mention I had to close my garage door to warm the room to get it to start.

then open the garage door to keep it cool enough to run.

A lot of work for me.  Plus the fear of burning.  I just could not do a proper setup with it.

Now on a side note these were lucky gear for me.  I really wanted sp20's but they were 1100 usd when this prisma came out.
So I went cheap purchased the prisma and the sp20's dropped over 400 bucks in price.
So I lost 50 bucks on this and saved 400 on the sp20  net 350usd gain.  I was lucky with the short tubes as well.

Did you return it to AM for a partial refund?  If so, who did you talk with at AM?

Refund from AM? Are you joking? I'd be very suprised if anyone even manages to successfully communicate with those fuckers, let alone RMA.

If you are reading this researching and thinking about purchasing this miner. DON'T. For this price range get a few S3+(for home) or SP20(for data center). Stay away from this miner.
90  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] ASICMiner Prisma 1TH @ 1000 Watts, taking offers.... on: December 01, 2014, 06:20:23 AM
Yes it is a full unit with 4 boards.

No PSU they're a dime a dozen. I find the resell value pretty bad and I can still get use out of it.

But if the price is right I'll throw in a RPI with cgAM .img, if someone needs it.

hrm. I'll consider your offer. Might need a bit more for shipping though.

Not sure how to check if the chips are hashing on cgAM Minera image.
92  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] ASICMiner Prisma 1TH @ 1000 Watts, taking offers.... on: November 30, 2014, 12:11:11 PM
I bought an ASICMiner Prisma from Canary's group buy several weeks ago and finally decided to admit defeat. I can't seem to figure this one out.

I have a unit that hashes around 1000-1050GH poolside @ 950-1100 Watts. The unit did at one time hash at 1450GH @ 1250Watts. This only lasted for two days though. Perhaps some pro-miner can restore the unit to its full glory..?.

Unit comes as-is.

Escrow? Yes.

US shipping only.

I am currently entertaining offers.

IF/when I determine a board is not hashing then what? Does ASICMiner offer any sort of RMA? I bought the unit via Canary's GB.
97  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] ASICMiner Prisma 1.4th/s - 1.47 BTC on: November 21, 2014, 01:47:55 PM
So after about a day or two of hashing at 1300-1400GH something happened and now my Prisma only reaches about 1000GH poolside.

I believe one of the boards went out? or isn't hashing for some reason? I didn't make any changes to my system so I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem. PSU is good and everything checks out, boards switches are correct etc. Running CrazyGuy's version of cgAM on a RPi.

The Kill-a-watt meter fluctuates from 950-1200 Watts. Sort of reminds me of my Titan with the failing die. Hopefully that is not the situation. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot?

Finally got CrazyGuy's cgAM on my RPi up and running. What did I do you ask? Well I handed it over to a friend who knew what he was doing. Lol, sad I know but hey it works now.

Minera UI reports really high error percentage around 8-12% but pool side I'm getting around 1% so all is good except one thing. I wish I could get the wifi set up.

Anyone know if CrazyGuy's cgAM version of Minera supports Wifi? I use to set-up Wifi through the OS with the start x command but that doesn't work. Would I use sudo tasksel?
