81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 30, 2017, 07:51:05 PM
I really don't understand people whining and moaning about the lack of marketing from the development team.

It's not only about lack of marketing. It's also the way Rijk runs his outfit. After two weeks with him you will know. You just get the feeling you can't trust him, because he wants you to accept 100% what he says even when things don't add up and his explanations don't sound right. Oh, he like to blame market manipulators and demon traders. Or "bad luck", or "bad timing". Nothing is ever his fault. If you put good money into this coin or any investment vehicle for that matter, you really want better treatment, better leadership.
I hear what you say and why you feel that way.
My opinion is the complete contrary.  When I have had to deal with him on a personal level he has always been completely upfront, helpful and honest.
If you still hold Gulden then my advice would be to get active and do some marketing.  For your own gain regardless of your misgivings about certain people.  You'll feel better for it I'm sure. Wink

Hello, do you guys have any bootstrap for new wallet? My PC is lagging then becoming unresponsive after many hours block loading.

My mac took over 24 hours to get up to date.
I think it helps if you close the wallet down and restart it again when it seems stuck.

I really don't understand people whining and moaning about the lack of marketing from the development team.
Why not put all your energies into marketing Gulden yourselves?
As far as I understand it the dev team have stated that they code and develop the coin but don't market it.  That's the job of the community.
When it comes to advertising with a cost involved then that's different.
But it really costs nothing to publish an article, tweet it, put it on your FB page, write to online blogs etc.
If you're worried about your investment or the lack of recognition for an innovative and ahead of the field coin then get active.
If you're not part of the community then what are you doing hanging around in this thread?

This is awesome guys! Please push Bittrex to fix the market. I need to invest here and get some profit on it.

Is the bittrex market still broken? I think I saw the deposit/withdraw links working recently
Bittrex market working fine

88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Putin going to run his own ICO? on: November 21, 2017, 10:01:08 AM
Putin Orders the Issue of Russia’s National Cryptocurrency – the Cryptoruble, lmfao this sounds just wrong to me.
They have cloned facebook, now it's bitcoins turn ... i can just lol
I've heard the cryptoruble will be back by gold.
Maybe we'll see a lot of commodity backed cryptos in the near future.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 20, 2017, 05:45:45 PM
Today Gulden can be traded on Bittrex, GuldenTrader, Nocks, LiteBit.eu, Bleutrade, Yobit and CoinExchange

Bittrex -> check
Guldentrader -> NOPE, Just a buy and sell platform, not an exchange
Nocks -> Partially check, NLG-EUR only
Litebit.eu -> NOPE, Just a buy and sell platform, not an exchange
Bluetrade -> 0.008 BTC average volume, seriously??
Yobit -> Scam site, not a real exchange (try getting your funds out, lol)
Coinexchange -> 0.001 BTC Volume, seriously??

The 24h volume on Bleutrade was $1700, that's a lot of money for a lot of people.  You know what seems to be the target demographic of Guldens, Joe 6-pack/Joey bag-o' donuts. Smiley  Sure this volume of trading isn't going to send Gulden to the moon anytime soon but for a lot of people it's a substantial amount of money. Wink
For sure Bittrex is the go to exchange for Gulden but there is a lot to be said for the direct access to/exit from the Gulden market through Guldentrader/Nocks and Litebit.  Trying to untether a crypto from bitcoins volatile price fluctuations seems difficult.  It's a long road to achieve some independency but to standalone might be the best course for survival.
I don't need more examples and price comparisons of how Bitcoin has outperformed Gulden etc, the fact remains that if Bitcoin plummets for whatever reason it might take down a lot of cryptos in its wake.

Wouldn't it be better to wait until the fork which should be happening soon?
Some exchanges can be a community effort to get listed whilst others need a developer.

What's the plan to get on larger exchanges?  (and maybe new ones too eg UpBit)
I'd imagine this is something for after the fork.
The community needs to pull together on this with a concerted effort.

There are a lot of old members holding quark we need a spider or some kind of script to email everyone on the old qrk thread and get them active here.

FYI there have been around 40 different contributors to this new Quark thread.

I have sent PMs to around 160 posters from the original thread letting them know about the coming changes to Quark and this thread.

Where would the wallet.dat file be located on mac?
Default place would be:

~/Library/Application Support/Quarkcoin

Thanks but just checked and nothing there. When i search for wallet.dat or quark on system search the only thing that turn up is the QT wallet.
You might need to actively look in the 'Library'.  Look up how to access it depending on your OS version.
