81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Choose a Good ICO on: July 27, 2018, 04:38:51 AM
To add to what many have said, I give you some advice that I have learned from my own experience. You should never NEVER invest off of hype, that's how people get duped when a coin suddenly pumps and then eventually dumps. Invest in projects that you're passionate about, at which point the initial buying price doesn't really matter. Whether or not the price fluctuates up or down doesn't really matter.
82  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think the markets will collapse on: July 27, 2018, 02:15:05 AM
Cryptocurrency has only just begun to enter mainstream awareness never mind adoption. By the year 2000 when the dot-com bust was in full effect, over 43% of the United States population was using the Internet. In contrast, after roughly eight years Bitcoin is at best in its early adopter's phase. It is estimated that only .046% of the target population of crypto users has adopted this technology. We are not at the peak of this cycle as mainstream media would like to suggest, rather we are just starting up the cryptos adoption lifecycle.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the impact of ICOs on the market? on: July 26, 2018, 06:00:33 AM
Only the best projects get highly funded. Take a look at the dozens of ICOs that are languishing or failed to attract any ETH funding. For the most part, the crowd is smarter than you might think (although they are certainly not right every time).

so what is the problem if there are dozens of ICOs a day nonetheless the best are going to succeed anyway (with some exceptions).
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you panic? on: July 25, 2018, 03:01:27 AM
I think if you are an investor you should not worry about that, because if the project is good, promising and has some real use, it will recover from the dump, also the bounty hunters hodlean tokens if the project is good, because they are also interested in maximizing their profits, remember that bounty hunters are investors too, only they do it with time and effort.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Investment Pool? on: July 25, 2018, 01:14:57 AM
It might be a good idea, but we should have some security issues and have to had an extreme confidence in the manager of the pool, it would be ideal to develop a smart contract or a Dapp to do it automatically, example: Ask each participant X amount of coins to ensure Y % of participation in the pool, good idea but it lacks development
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with the rewards you received? on: July 21, 2018, 04:10:17 AM
depending on how promising the project has been, if I see that the creators were not aware and did not care much about meeting their goals in the roadmap or fulfilling what they promised in the whitepaper be sure that I will not have much confidence in the token and sell it as soon as it goes out in exchange, but if I see that the developers believe in their project and can change something in the industry I will hodl despite the initial price being lower than expected
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of investor are you? on: July 21, 2018, 03:18:30 AM
I think it would be a little hodler and freebie, because if I like to participate in bounties and airdrops, but I also like to retain the tokens that if I see them future to maximize my profits or even use them on the same platform, I like the good job rankings quite a bit, I think I have gone through several of those and hope to become the satoshi at some point.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: planning for down market on: July 21, 2018, 12:17:11 AM
I usually don't keep any of my trades overnight and especially don't over the weekend. I also set very smalls goals for myself regardless of how much people or analysts may think an alt will go up by. Day trading on an hourly basis has proven to work for me and also minimizes risk so I stick with this strategy.

Also, for times like this where the market is red for consecutive days or even at times where my luck is just terrible, I just take a break. Trading is a skill, you're not always going to read the market well.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop !! is it worth it ! on: July 20, 2018, 02:15:38 AM
I think so, but you still have to check which is worth it and which is not, there are many airdrops scams out there, and you can waste your time and your information, you also have to take care of what information you give in the registration form because on one hand they are giving you tokens and on the other hand they are selling your data to advertising companies, and for so much effort and risk I think it is better to make a bounty campaign, safer, better reward and more stable.
90  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price is back to surprise us on: July 20, 2018, 01:26:06 AM
I think the recent jump is due to a few early users who understand how it works got a benefit. Meanwhile, everyone else stays away out of fear of consequence, until one day they wake up and realize "hey this is actually a legit thing that even big financial guys are into. I'm gonna get in too." At one point within a period of 12 months, everyone jumps in.

We are not at that point yet but it is coming soon, and when it hits it will happen faster than anyone could have imagined.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: July 19, 2018, 11:21:32 PM
To me, Ripple seems like a much more viable and less risky bet.

The idea that the whole international economic system is going to end because of the blockchain & crypto currency is too far-fetched. What's much more likely is that the technology will be appropriated by the industry and all these cryptos will disappear unless they can find an industry purpose, and Ripple is all about that
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 500$ on: July 19, 2018, 04:03:34 AM
Looking at the biggest potential returns from those coins I would say XRB. It is probably the one with the highest chance of doing another x10, but it is also less established so riskier. It had an amazing rise of course but it now will need to prove it deserves to break into the top 20. So far it is looking really good but you never know what happens.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest with on: July 19, 2018, 03:02:19 AM
DCR is on my personal list. It has potential just nothing that makes it "pop". IOTA needs more exchange availability and it has a crazy number of coins (I understand that's by design). Cool project. UBIQ is under fire right now with the China ordeal. Might be a good time to buy. I personally think BAT has an uphill battle and ax'd it from my list. SNT is interesting. I've been watching it for a while. I invested in OMG. Disclaimer, I'm personally invested in these as well but check out ARK and MTL.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto will be mainstream in a few years on: July 17, 2018, 03:30:03 AM
Crypto needs a bit of a reality check. Crypro communities are far too passionate and defensive about their Crypto. We all came in to make money but have gotten caught up in the crossfire game of "my coins better than your coin".

More people need to realize that current Crypto could potentially be displaced by existing infrastructure (Amazon, JP Morgan, Walmart, Nike etc.) choosing to set a Blockchain Team up of their own and start implementing their own systems instead of choosing to adopt one we associated/invest in.

All the time we are asking - "why should this be adopted by the mainstream" will hopefully drive those leading our top Cryptos to come up with a solution to a problem so in demand that the mainstream will have no other choice but to adopt.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what causes the price of crypto down on: July 14, 2018, 03:10:59 AM
This is text-book bubble pop. A huge majority of investors jumped in for high returns, not for the technology. When it stops giving high returns, it dips. People "buy the dip", trigger a bull trap, but returns are not nearly enough what they used to be. So it dips again and the "buy the dip" folks are out of money. So it dips further. Triggers a lower bulltrap. And it keeps doing this until we have a despair phase where it'll be lower than the current "mean value". I think we'll see BTC at 2-5k before consolidation at 5-7k. Might be less. And BCH is also gonna take a similar hit and we might see 200 USD BCH's.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: No Bull Run in 2018? on: July 13, 2018, 01:19:35 AM
Bitcoin is all about the fractals! It's insane how many inverse head and shoulders patterns are feeding into each other, not to mention the huge symmetrical triangle that is forming the neckline. A breakout from the small bull flag in the right shoulder could set off a chain reaction resulting in a ton of successively larger breakouts. Given that these are all bullish formations, this is giving us a STRONG signal that BTC is headed up to possible new ATHs from here.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust ERC20 tokens? on: July 12, 2018, 05:21:51 AM
I usually do a lot of research on a token before I trust it, I can tell you about these three so you get an idea of what I'm talking about.

SingularDTV - resilient thru the crash in the last few days. The team's working really hard and can reach 50-75 cents to a dollar in Q4.

Tierion - flying under the radar. Solid team, solid use case and solid partnerships with Microsoft and Phillips. Upcoming milestone: release on 15th September followed by listing in more exchanges.

Iconomi - holding this long term. DAAs are the way to go for mainstream investors.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't cryptocurrencies successful as a medium of payment on: July 12, 2018, 03:15:44 AM
Cryptocurrency can possibly be seen as a commodity, a form of digital gold (in the case cryptos like Ethereum, "digital oil"), stocks and shares in technology, and so on. But why would anyone want to use something as a currency that could potentially go up 2x, 10x, 20x in a few months?

Normal fiat currency like USD and EUR is relatively stable and lacks volatility, e.g. the price of a can of Coke hasn't changed much in 10 years.

Crypto is completely different. it's far more volatile and acts like stocks/shares or investments rather than national currencies

If I have holdings of fiat and holdings of shares - which should I use to buy a TV now? the fiat obviously

Why liquidize an investment that could be worth far more in the future over using fiat that will probably be worth approx the same?
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins with passive income on: July 11, 2018, 02:56:03 AM
PIVX and Nav are great projects. However, if we are talking strictly passive income for a regular staker (not a masternode). Nav currently gives you 5% annual return while Pivx averages closer to 4% (figure changes do to seesaw algorithm with masternodes) thus Nav is currently superior when it comes to passive income.
