oh i hear ya brother.

my last coding days were turbo pascal when i wrote a few door games for my BBS.

my "formal" training was in cobol and fortran.

i'm so "out of the loop" i wouldn't try coding "10 print "hello world""

=]

one of these centuries i'll try to move to an android based device.  i really like the motorola atrix.
i've just been so entrenched in winCE, now windows mobile, that i find it hard to give up the apps i do use..

inaba, love the pool.
appreciate the time/effort you've put into it.

i took a break for awhile but i'm back. back in the "top" charts at least =]

rather than deluge you with suggestions, requests, i'll tell you how i "use" the pool.

i like the worker status and the quick stats.
those are my most used/looked at parts of the website.

what would be super cool is a windows mobile 6.1 friendly version or the coolest app ever written for it. (yes, i only have wm6.1, an htc fuze)
like those tiny sidebar gadgets people make for the "other" pools, but a wm6.1 app.  that would be righteous.

i check so often that sms and email alerts aren't a biggie for me.

i love the paypal payout.  the fees are totally understandable.
i take it the paypal payments are based on the current mtgox trade value?
i'd like to see an instant payout button though (again, one that i could use from my old/dinky phone =])

basically, a stripped down, graphics wise, website would be great for me and my puny phone.
no background images/colors, tiny logo, yada yada, etc etc.

anyway, thanks again, it's cool in da pool.

21.06.2011 14:17   1HYAxJJ2CZVLcXHvSDuGnbhueuUDEwEC8P   0.55

that was my "no such transaction"

and again, as i said, no biggie!

it's only 10 bucks or so =]

it's still cool in da pool!

yes, the .5 had been raised and will raise it to 1.0.

no deposit in the locked address wallet although the .55 had been subtracted/paid out from the deep.

to a slow miner such as myself, .5 is an achievement but losing 10 bucks or so is miniscule in the scope of things.

a payout option according to time would be coolio.
say i could set to autopay every 48 hours regardless of balance?

will continue to slowly plod away

anyone have a slow transaction?
.5 BTC threshold reached and paid according the website.

nothing shown in the wallet for quite sometime.

just checkin', no major ordeal

91  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Visiontek 6950 - no dual bios switch? on: June 19, 2011, 12:35:16 AM
If it's a 1GB version it doesn't have the switch, regardless of vendor.

Only the 2GB can be unlocked and has the dual BIOS.

Mine is a 2gb and has no switch.  Unless I'm blind. Sad

i'm sure it's a "revision 2" card.

my 6970, though pictured with "the switch" arrived with no switch.
it is a version 2 card.

several vendors retain the stock number yet ship the version 2 cards.

AMD 2.1 SDK > All
offers bugfree stable operation + best performance
http://www.amdzone.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=527&t=137766

unless you have a 6 series ati card.

which begs the question:

is the ati 6770 a rebadged 5770 and therefore compatible with sdk 2.1?

94  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / I just wanted to setup a Ubuntu box with CPU mining == fail :) on: June 18, 2011, 04:04:11 PM
so, i thought if i could whip together a ubuntu 11.04 box and run a cpu miner for a day or two.  you know, check out how i like remoting in and what not.

well, that failed.

i can get 11.04 up and running.  installed from a stick to a hard drive.

remote in via vnc viewer or putty.

what i can't do is get anything else to "go".

i do NOT have any opencl capable video cards to go in it yet.  i wasn't going to buy anything untill i decided if i liked it or not.
so i'm thinking that's why i can't get opencl to even compile/make/showup?

then i tried cpuminer1.02 but even cutting/pasting the directions from the readme fail.

gotta have libcurl.  download libcurl (or so i think).  cut/paste make directions == fail.

i'm comfortable on the command line.
i've run a linux command line box since redhat 6 but i'm TOO stupid to get this going.

yes, i want the ubuntu 11.04 DESKTOP installation.
yes, cpu mining is worthless.  it's just for proof of concept.
yes, i'm way to whiney about the whole thing Smiley

any thoughts on running a non video card dependant setup for a cpu miner?

thanks for your time and the bandwidth.

I normally watch films and play games while mining

How? system spec? Are you using only one card?
I can do gaming/mining/video on my Nvidia card, but ATI = instant crash.

he's got a single 5770, not a 6 series.

i was stumped forever figuring out why i could open gpu-z while mining with my old 4870 but doing the same with 6970 resulted in a lockup.

+1

that's the usual culprit/fix.

2nd monitor or dummy plug to get it "visible".

i'm uber new to mining.

started less than a week ago with a 4870 i already had.
that went away and helped buy a 6970.
it's doing the average for a 6970.  just underclocked the memory.

have tried 3 pools and the first 2 were fine, the one i'm on now, i'll hold on untill the round is over then i'm pretty sure i'll head back to one of the first two Smiley

interesting.
