Long sales say about ICO's large amount of cap and there are a lot of time to get it and to involve many investors with different parts of investing sum.

It is better to do mining with so reliable cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH, they are able to encourage your position on the market more confident with money and future oppotunities.

With real achievements of crypto I suppose that there will be only raising of its popularity most of all. Especially it is connected with alternative cryptocurrencies market.

Maybe it will be possible but not now because BTC is still very strong and nothing can change it in accodrance to the current market. LTC has not been developed in the necessary level, but it could be.
