81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin was hijacked and centralized on: July 18, 2020, 02:56:09 PM
Uhuh. Now what? You're going to shill us BSV or whatever your stupid shitcoin of choice is?

You idiots really need to create new false narratives to at least come close to convincing people because you idiots have been using the same false narratives for YEARS. People like you are like the flat-earthers and the anti-vaxxers of the Bitcoin world.

A shitcoin is something like Bitcoin. that's just a ponzi and has no actual utility.
If you think Bitcoin is a ponzi then you need to grab a dictionary because you're full of shit and it seems like you don't even know what a Ponzi scheme is in the first place.

83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is not doing well in Alexa rank because of the Merit system on: May 19, 2020, 03:26:27 PM
So I decided to take a look at your account.

Your post count and activity count is literally equal. Are you just complaining about the system because you aren't able to rank up due to the merit system? Like 99.9% of the people complaining about the merit system? Stop it with this shit. This has been discussed a hundred times in the past already.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There's something Satoshi didn't think of. on: May 18, 2020, 12:10:10 AM
I'm fairly certain that Satoshi has considered this. This is why the mining difficulty exists. Some miners shut down their machines, mining difficulty will drop, hence more opportunities for other miners.

As long as there's profit to be made, there will be miners.

As for year 2136, it's fair to assume that if there aren't enough transactions for miners to profit from, we could probably say that Bitcoin has failed.

A quote from Satoshi himself: "I'm sure that in 20 years there will either be very large transaction volume or no volume".

We could apply the same quote for 100+ years from now.

Apparently Roger Vermin is interested in buying the domain. Hopefully Cobra won't get tempted.
The scammer was always ready to purchase it. Despite my dislike of Cobra, I do not think that he is that dishonest.
I really can't say anything about him as I barely know Cobra, but let's just say that money can easily change people's minds so let's not slash out this possibility.
Speak for yourself. It can do so for weak willed people and those that were actually corruptible to begin with. Money just makes them expose their true character.
Without a doubt. Time will tell.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So it looks like Cobra is planning on passing on the Bitcoin.org domain on: May 14, 2020, 10:42:12 AM
Nah, nothing will happen like that. On the whole post Cobra doesn't mentioned he want to sell the domain. As he said he want to retire, although I don't know the real reason behind of this but I believe he will take an appropriate decision. But the real concern is about trust.
He didn't mention selling it but it doesn't automatically mean that it's out of the picture. I'm not doubting Cobra as I really don't know him but he's quite reputable as far as I know, but let's not forget that he's using a pseudonym and that his reputation wouldn't matter that much in the end as he's planning on retiring the pseudonym anyway.

Would/could this be something Bitcointalk can use some of the forum's funds for if it comes to that?
Not that I expect Cøbra to sell out like that, but it could be a good use of forum funds in the interest of Bitcoin in general.
Though I'd like to stay optimistic, time will tell if Cobra's going to hand over the domain to someone reputable or just sell it. After all, he said he's going to retire the "Cobra" pseudonym, so his reputation after handing over or selling the domain wouldn't really matter.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So it looks like Cobra is planning on passing on the Bitcoin.org domain on: May 14, 2020, 07:50:40 AM
Though I doubt Cobra will just sell the domain to someone like Roger, holy fuck if Roger actually gets to own two high-authority Bitcoin domains.

i am almost sure nothing like that would happen but even if it did i seriously doubt it would change anything except the number of posts newcomers make on different tech support forums complaining about being scammed trying to buy bitcoin and received a shitcoin instead.

If you do a Google search query for "Bitcoin", the number 1 spot would be Bitcoin.org, followed by Bitcoin.com. I don't think the damage will be that little.

From his recent thread on GitHub:

First of all, happy halving to everyone!

I just want to inform that I will gradually be reducing my involvement in Bitcoin.org this year, it won't happen instantly but hopefully by the end of the year, I won't be around anymore. Over the years, I'm glad to have helped contribute to a project that has let so many millions of people learn about Bitcoin. It's really a massive honour. The domain name will be left in trusted hands, I have a few people in mind already. Alternatively, if anyone knows of any individuals or organisations that would be good, feel free to suggest (either here, or privately -- just DM me on Twitter). Ultimately, trust is very hard to measure, but I plan to be thorough and meticulous here and find the right people.

I guess for a lot of people, this will probably be some sort of relief. I can't say I've gotten along well with everyone, and some people have questioned my judgement. Hopefully whoever comes after me doesn't get sucked into drama as easily as I sometimes did (though that's also largely a product of being around in pretty dramatic times). Bitcoin.org really is an amazing resource, and we need to continue working on it and keep improving it. With Bitcoin being as complicated as it is for new people to understand, sites like Bitcoin.org are key to getting more mainstream adoption. Especially in avoiding getting Bitcoin labelled as some get rich quick scheme.

If we've had any collaboration over the years; I appreciate your contributions, and have learned a lot from many of you. I wish everyone good luck and success. Thank you. No doubt Bitcoin will keep succeeding and reaching new milestones with such a great community behind it.

91  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🔥 [Defamation] At Its Worst During Chipmixer Applications 🔥 on: May 11, 2020, 11:53:13 PM
Funny how these people he is hiring are all pals. Cycling merits together I mean if you look at their top 20 fans and recipients they are stacked with each others names ? They are include each other on DT.

So then darkstar comes along and says oh look brilliant posters because they have lots of merit  ( they gave each other )
And they are trusted ( by each by each other )

Think about it for the minute.

ChipMixer(as far as I know) is the highest paying campaign right now. Not sure about you, but what if a good amount of merits are revolving around ChipMixer members because they're actually good posters, hence they deserved to receive merits? I've been lurking for months and I have noticed that most if not all of them are actually great posters.

And it's not like their merits are only from their fellow ChipMixer members in the first place.

You'd probably be really great friends with Craig Wright, OP. You both definitely have something in common, you're both Chief Scientists of shitcoins.

Sorry, but don't we have like more than a dozen topics concerning browser extension scams already? At this point it's getting super redundant that people are pretty much creating the same topics over and over again for the sake of merits.

I think people will realize what is happening to the economy in a few months and this will be the moment when the new bull run of Bitcoin prices will start.

Just like the price of BitCoin shot up a few weeks ago when the Economic Crisis started Huh   Oh wait, the Price of BitCoin did not shoot up, it was CUT IN HALF  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Keep DREAMING and ignoring reality, you will deserve to lose your investment...

Hard Facts

Is it just me or you probably should change your name to Stupid Opinions?

Even gold dropped. What's your point?
