Glad I was able to help you, just as someone helped me with that trick.
I was puzzled. Huh? What's wrong? What happening here? Then you came up with the solution. Thanks again!

Also, @mendace updated his pizza picture. Please update it the “hodl” pizza in the gallery!
I just updated mendace and LDL's new pizza in the gallery. I intentionally ignored some submissions as they are not some kind of pizzas. I removed some submissions from the gallery as well. Some people do Photoshop, and some others download images from the internet and submit them here. So, I had to ignore them and remove a few submissions. I hope this makes sense in case anyone wondering why I ignored them.

Dunno I also want to keep a record of 666. Lol
What if someone tries to ruin that number? Since you participated in the Bitcoin Pizza contest, There is a high chance that you may get more than 1 merit in a single tx. You were on 665, so I stepped forward to make it 666.

There you go, salad daging and Congratulations!

84  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start a lending business on: May 29, 2023, 08:00:17 AM
You got some good replies from Experienced members. Here I want to add my opinion. Don't rush, please. Before you open your business, observe how others operate their business. If you see they rejected some loan requests, try to understand why they rejected them. There are a bunch of scam cases where people scammed the lender. They took a loan and never paid. Sashan is one of the lenders who recently created a few scam accusations against a few users. Since your forum rank is newbie, I doubt you understand everything about the forum. You must consider many things and check your user account before granting a loan.

The main target is return. You have to judge if the user can return your money. How much is the maximum for a user. Make sure if a user is participating in a signature campaign or not. How much is he getting from the signature campaign. Check if the account has some Negative or Neutral tag. Make sure the account did not change hands (sold account). Check for how long he is in the forum. Check if he has an active loan or not. Check for how long he is in the signature campaign. There are many more things you have to consider.

Good Luck!
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto influencers secrets that all newbies should be aware of on: May 29, 2023, 07:45:30 AM
An Average person in Crypto for at least five years should know how it works. It's an open secret that crypto influencers work for those developers and get paid. If people believe that those crypto influencers are suggesting the right coin which will do 100x in the next few weeks or months, that's the mistake. Not too long ago, I tended to follow a youtube channel named Fomotion. He is a Dutch guy, and every time he comes up with his videos, he used to say this is hidden gems, and he is bringing them up. He used to give away, and many people trusted him because he also invested in those projects.

What people don't know is those are not real money. The developers gave them a few bucks to make the contest for his viewers, and that's it. I remember I bought some shit coins even though I knew those would be zero in no time. Being a crypto influencer is more like telling a lie in people's faces and making money by telling a lie. People with a good hearts will eventually exit from doing such things.
86  Other / Meta / Re: Did Laszlo Hanyecz exchange 40000 BTC for 8 pizzas, not 10000 BTC for 2 pizzas? on: May 28, 2023, 06:58:48 AM
I don't mind giving merits if a member makes some good points, even if I might not agree with the member or even understand exactly what the points might be, and even if later it is shown that the member might not be adequately backing up what they say.

There seems to be some directionally correct evidence for what UchihaSarada had posted in the above OP, even if in the end, UchihaSarada might not have backed up everything that he said very well (and?  Does the backing up need to be perfect?... sure you also have a right to criticize him for not backing up his points well enough and also making whatever points that you had already made).. but there were a few others in this thread that did some additional backing up some of the points that were made in the OP (even if all of the points might not have been exactly correct or substainable (and maybe inferences have been made too).. and we do not even know if the points have been disproven, either).
Let's forget about the merit thing. I know you have seen tons of them in your forum journey. I hate when people create a separate thread to discuss something they are not sure about Bitcoin-related history. I don't rely on some specific Twattar influencer or public figure to back my claims. Whenever people are on the internet, if they find something interesting, they can search for more details on the internet. Guess there is no information about what they are searching for, which means they are looking for something that does not exist and did not happen. It seems Lazslo bought more than two pizzas But look at the title of this topic. It has a question mark, indeed. But, The title is misleading or somewhat clickbait thing. Do you like clickbait titles or thumbnails?

Quote
You are asking me what I thing, and to me it seems that you (John Abraham) seem to have strong feelings about UchihaSarada failure to adequately back up his framing of history on the topic of whether Lazlo might have had several other times in which he bought pizzas with large quantities of bitcoin.. including possibly 4 times and such as 10k BTC each time.

Seems a bit much to actually spend 40k btc on 8 pizzas, but it is not totally out of the realm of reasonableness .. even if it might end up NOT being technically correct and even if you, JA, label UchihaSarada as disingenuine, fishing for merits and/or purposefully spreading misinformation (which are all valid criticisms.. even if you might be wrong in your criticisms, too).. which seems a bit much of a claim, too..

I often see people create threads to discuss something that should not be discussed or isn't worth discussing. His topic title indicates Laszlo exactly bought Eight pizzas for 40K Bitcoins, and this claim doesn't have any reference. For reference, he used three tweets from the same unnamed Twitter handle. A single person cannot claim such a thing without proper evidence. I am concerned because this will change the history of Bitcoin. I believe we are still in the early days, and we should defend against any kind of miss information. I know you know about metamorphosis and how it works. This Bitcointalk thread will be used as a reference to validate the claim that Laszlo bought Eight pizzas for 40K Bitcoins.

Quote
Surely members can disagree on matters, and sometimes we end up getting pissed off at each other... and sometimes we make up later and sometimes we don't.. I claim that I don't tend to hold grudges, but sure there are some members who are a wee bit irritating to me too.. so irritation can flow in either direction.. even though some members seem to be very well liked by almost everyone. Dolly Parton holds that title in main stream media..

Through my years in the forum, I have had some battles with some members, and later it seems that we get along well these days, and surely there are some members who really seem to dislike me too.. so there's only so much that can be done about some of the differences in perspectives and personalities, and sometimes members rub each other the wrong way... what can we do about those kinds of personal variances? Frequently, I tend to respond when I feel that I have been directly attacked (or referenced), unless I feel that I had already sufficiently/adequately addressed whatever point is trying to involve me, or I might refrain from responding if it appears better if I don't say anything.. so of course, there is discretion that each of us has in terms of whether we should respond or not.

I believe that most of the times when I choose to respond, I try to not take it personal (or to make my response personal.. even though you never know, I might choose to throw in a few zingers for funzies, from time to time, too.. so there is a kind of balancing and attempt to figure out how important the topic might be to me).  There is a lot of variations in choosing to respond and how to respond.. and frequently it can be difficult to figure out how to leave emotion out or whether it should be left out, which the rule of thumb would be to leave it out and only strategically employ it...and if you strategically employ it wrong, then sucks to be you.

members sometimes will end up getting themselves banned, suspended or red tagged by other members because they are unable to stop their battles with other members... or maybe sometimes they just end up forcing themselves into a kind of rage quit.  those are choices.. and surely sometimes not easy to figure out when to stop.

Look at the way he responded to me in another thread. I don't think I've said anything bad. People who cannot take criticism should not be in the public forum. People could have a different opinion than yours. If you have a point, talk to them and defend yourself with your point. But, some people choose not to show their point and like shit. They start making personal attacks and being aggressive toward others who criticize them. I don't think I've been in battle in my forum life. I tend to ignore when I see trolls and users talking pointless, and I don't see any reason to respond. No matter your point, you won't get the answer to your point.

Getting pissed off at each other is a common thing. But, when we talk to each other and sort out things, there is no problem. You cannot expect calmness from a twelve-year-old kid. Yeah, angry people who give death threads and dox others will get banned. About the red tag, I don't think forum members should tag others based on the way they talk. The feedback system was introduced for trading-related use. But we still use it for other purposes as well. Sometimes people tag each other for their personal matter, which makes it pointless. Whoever use it for their own favour should not be on the DT network.

I did not see anyone commenting on whether they are Coinbase users.

I'm KYC'd at Coinbase. I got the email and laughed my fucking face off.

This is something serious. I have to dive into the darknet for a while.
I will come up with an update if I find one, at least.

Edit; Did not find any news.
Most darknet sales markets are scams.
Not sure if those things are real, but look at this—both markets are selling 1.1M coinbase users' emails.

88  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: May 28, 2023, 05:48:50 AM
I don't need to believe it, haha. Spent 3 years collectively in India and Pakistan, not to mention Sri Lanka. Only foreigners played football there, but the reason I asked was because I'm reading more and more about how big Indian football actually is. India's about 1/7th of global population so even if only 10% of the people watch football, it's already more than 3x the population of my country Wink
Oh wow! Nice to know that you were in those countries. If you have spent three years there, you must be familiar with the culture and know how crazy people are about Cricket. Every South Asian country is cricket-loving, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal. Indeed there are some football fans as well. You can see the football craziness during the world cup.

Look at those clips from Fifa and Al Jazeera;

https://twitter.com/FIFAcom/status/1596759102755115009?s=20
https://twitter.com/AJEnglish/status/1601958735987048455?s=20

But I would still say this is seasonal. You won't see this craziness for a whole year. But when it comes to Cricket, South Asians are crazy.

Cricket is king, for sure but a friend of mine insists Kerala and Goa are football crazy (see this clip), Indians were the 7th rank in the last World Cup ticket sales apparently! This isn't even recent, Russia 2018 had the most fans from US, China... then India. And they don't even have a team at the tournament ha!
Yeah. This is impressive. A country doesn't have their team in the world cup, but they are cheering for another country; this must come from the heart. Without loving football, it's not possible. Just imagine your country is not in the tournament, but you are still cheering for a team. It's because you are a soccer fan, and that's why you are there.

89  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A quick reminder on how to get full information about your account using BPIP on: May 28, 2023, 05:26:30 AM
I am not sure if this thread belongs here, perhaps Service Discussion would be a better place for it? I also use bpip.org every now and then, it has quite a bit of functionality and I've been using it for a while now to see the 120 day merits. It's pretty good for viewing merit earned ranking and other rankings as well.
This thread should belong to the Beginners & Help section. I believe those who visit Meta regularly know about BPIP, and they know how it works. If you specifically think about the service, then yes. It should fit into the service discussion. But OP may have arguments because this service is exclusively for BitcoinTalk users. So, if Suchmoon or ibminer create a BPIP thread in meta, It should be okay, just like Talkimg thread. Since this thread does not come from BPIP officials and somehow reminds/teaches people how to get information from BPIP, I guess this is a bit better in the Beginners & Help section.

However, Installing the BPIP browser extension is much easier to get information like earned merits in the last 120 days, Check DT Status, Check Earned merits, and Go to BPIP, Ninjastic and Loyce.club with one click, so you don't have to search for the username. I am unsure if anybody uses them, but I find these five buttons useful.

Want to check user info on Ninjastic? Click "N," and you will be forwarded to Ninjastic.

Just install the BPIP extension, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224821.0
you can find out the earned merits for the last 120 days on your merit history page

Not only for merit stats. This extension has many more features, including Check DT Status, Check Earned merits, and Go to BPIP, Ninjastic and Loyce.club with one click, so you don't have to search for the username.
90  Other / Meta / Re: DdmrDdmr is surprising for meriting posts on: May 28, 2023, 05:05:02 AM
Many users wonder about that even I'm not sure how he does it all the time other than opening tens of tabs before spray merit.
There's been some speculation and discussion about the DdmrDdmr merit spray in these two threads, so I don't think the OP should worry too much about it.
This is not rocket science to understand that he used Bot to send merits. It's impossible for a human being to open thousands of posts and keep meriting them until his sMerits turn zero. Indeed, he never said in his thread that he uses a bot. I didBott check fillippone's thread to see if he responded there regarding using a bot. But, as he always uses some criteria to filter eligible posts, he must use his own made Bot or other secret services that he owns. You and I won't have access to those things because it's not for everyone. This particular thing is exclusively for himself, making him more exclusive.

True, but he use bot, that should be complicated than manual, because he must know the quality post
Look at the quoted part below

Quote from: DdmrDdmr
Have received merits from at least five different people since january 2023

He used this criterion to detect quality posts. If five different people merit a post, this post must be worth meriting. So he uses this method to find quality posts. He also uses other criteria like re-merit his last merited posts. Sometimes he Manually merits users' posts and then re-merits those posts with his bot. That means he knows the quality of the post he is meriting.

Beijing has released a white paper titled "Web3 Innovation and Development White Paper (2023)"
--snip--
The release of the white paper suggests China opening up to the crypto industry to some extent.

Yes, they need to be able to ban it again.

China: openly banning, secretly allowing (or moving in this direction).
US: openly allowing, secretly banning (or moving in this direction)
EU: quoi??

hmmm

A few days ago, I saw a Tweet from BitcoinMagazine that China Central TV Broadcasted the news that Hong Kong is allowing retail investors to buy. China is quietly allowing it again. You can see the video on that Tweet too.

did coinbase customers info got [partially] leaked?
peeps are reporting 'i got you' messages:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/13tedzc/should_i_sent_a_dick_pic_back_to_assert_my/

I am not sure how it's related to Coinbase. I saw the email address was Coinbase@pro.space. But this is the receiver email. If a user uses their email on the internet, it's not hard for a scammer to collect email information from the internet and use them for their purposes. The email they got is pretty much an old scam. I am surprised these scam attempts still work, and people fall for it. The scammers send the same email to thousands of emails. One Reddit member said the Bitcoin address he received from a scammer to pay; he already got five $400 transactions. This means five people got scammed.

I did not see anyone commenting on whether they are Coinbase users.

Yep, most of the users who are regularly posting in the gambling section aren't a real gambler.
Most are in the gambling section due to signature campaign requirements. Sometimes some of them talk bullshit. They don't read the previous posts or check the platform before commenting. I remember a case saw in the BC game thread where a guy was saying the BCD price is low now, so the user should hold it  Cheesy

Quote
Still there are a good number of active gamblers in the forum. I'm a regular gambler, but I don't like to participate in the multiplier contest on the forum. Duelbits had run slots multiplier contest in the games and rounds
. I see you and panjul07 were participating in the Betcoin slot competition. Sometimes has to come with unique promotions. Duelbits have been doing that contest for a long time. I am not sure if the same strategy will also work for Flush. Do you know why? Check my response below.

It is a sad fact but it is real that the number of participants of slot contest in this forum is not that much, I participated most of them and most of the time there were less than 10 competitors.

Well it seems that when those type of contest was ran frequently, most people got bored with it hence the participants of contest was pretty much always the same player over and over again.
As I said earlier, I remember I saw Mahdirakib and Panjul07 in the Betcoin Competition thread. I remember I checked the contest result for a few weeks. Most of the time I saw the winner was Panjul07 and Mahdirakib. There are a few more regular players. But, I don't think there are more than 20 players who participate in contest regularly. So, seeing the same winner over and over is not impossible.

I just shared my experience and you are welcome to share your opinions.
And best wishes for every newcommers in this forum, in crypto world.
Beginners & Help is the best section to learn. But the board is not only for Beginners. You cannot finish learning everything. No matter how much you learn, You will still find new things to learn. However, I won't suggest that anyone only stick to the Beginners and Help section. It would help if you explored more boards like Development & Technical Discussion, Mining and Bitcoin Technical Support to learn different things. I know coding is not my cup of tea. Still, I try to play a little in my spare time in case I can understand anything.

Beginner and Help section is best if you want to learn more about the forum system. But, For different technical things like Mining, Wallets, Software related issues, You need other boards to get help from experts. For a long time, I was stuck to the WO thread and did not explore the forum as I was suggested by someone to speculate on Bitcoin. Back in the old days, People used to share their predictions there.

Post stadium pics if possible -- never seen one in India. Do you also watch Football there? I read it's getting serious...
Would you believe if I say 90% of Indians are more into cricket than any other game? Yes. It's true. Ask web tricks to verify. As the craziest cricket guy, I always dreamed of visiting crazy cricket-loving countries like India and Pakistan. Indian Premier League is the most successful cricket tournament in the world. I guess it generates more profit than the Cricket world cup. If you Google "The Richest Cricket Board in The world", You will be surprised. Yes, It's India. Imagine how many cricket fans there are and how much profit they generate from cricket tournaments. At the same time, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is at number two, and Aussies are at three.

So, I don't think people from India watch Football that much. More like European countries, They don't watch cricket  Cheesy
Moreover, FIFA Suspended All India Football Federation (AIFF) https://www.fifa.com/about-fifa/associations/media-releases/fifa-suspends-all-india-football-federation. I am not sure how is the situation now.

I had a conversation with Steve both In Forum PM and Telegram. It's nice to know he and Sportsbet founder love and play cricket. I missed a big chance to meet Steve due to a personal issue. I hope I can meet him next season.

Cheers!

I don't think we can expect everyone to follow some guidelines (which aren't even official), and the Reputation board has always been a place where members posted their achievements. It would be nice if everyone posted their achievements in the same topic, but that is simply not realistic to expect.
I did not blame OP for not following the guidelines. We used to follow others. If we see others doing something, we tend to follow them. The reputation board is in the Trading discussion board. It is supposed to use for trading-related reputation. But, it has been used for other reputations as well. I don't see any problem there. Again, I don't blame OP for not following the guidelines because maybe he saw other members creating threads to celebrate their achievements, and that's why he thought, why not create one for me? But I encourage everyone to post in Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great!

Quote
I don't think I have ever "celebrated" any of my achievements in this way, but I understand that there are members who experience each "achievement" very emotionally, so I can understand that they react like the OP.
Neither I. I did not celebrate my rank or other achievements by creating a thread, and I do not plan to create one unless I achieve something extraordinary.

Quote
In addition, I think that the quantity in this particular case is not too important, because numbers are just numbers, and the quality of the posts is a much more important criterion.
Somewhat Agree. But, Do you believe Ratimov's post quality or writing style is terrible? He is one of the guys who wrote most tutorials and Guidelines for newbies. He was excited about his achievements and created threads to celebrate them. Somehow BitcoinGirl finds it annoying and decided to create a separate thread so everyone could celebrate their achievement in a single thread.

OP, you deserve it, but why don't you consider posting it in this thread: Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great! - But sorry, I just think like that even though I also congratulate you on your achievement.
I was about to write the same thing but figured out you already posted this. I know how it feels when we reach some milestone, and they want to share their feelings. In the old days, everyone started creating separate threads for reaching Member rank, Full Member rank, Sr, Hero, and another achievement. BitcoinGirl.club firmly believes that if everyone started making such threads, the reputation board would be full of such topics. So, she came up with the idea of posting all of them in a single thread. That was a good idea, and most forum members followed that.

But in recent days, Some Prominent forum members created a separate thread for their achievements (which I consider an extraordinary achievement), and now we are trying to follow them. We should not compare ourselves with some extraordinary guys even though BitcoinGirl.club may argue about that.

It's not like OP is not aware of Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great!. Only nine days ago, he celebrated his Sr. Member rank-up achievement in this thread. He could have posted this achievement there as well. But decided to create a thread because others are doing the same.
