81  Economy / Services / Re: [Amazon] Order Anything from Amazon with BTC on: April 05, 2014, 02:35:27 AM
Will the shipment come from you or from Amazon?
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A little bit of perspective for all of us. A reminder for all of us. on: April 04, 2014, 06:40:55 PM
Micropayments have been touted as a good niche for Bitcoin for quite a while now.  Although I don't know anywhere you can buy a pack of gum for 25 cents anymore.....

It has two wheels, it must be a bicycle - right? It has motor driven wheels, it must be a car?

There's a lot of things that have those characteristics and are not a bicycle or a car.  A motorcycle or scooter, for example.  While I don't agree with how the IRS is treating Bitcoin, I don't understand the analogy.  For the purposes of operation, a motorcycle and a car are very similar (requires a license, insurance, obey laws, etc.).  You don't need to rewrite the rules every time something different comes out.  The problem is the IRS is trying to play both sides of the fence.
84  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User GambleX not paying for sig ad campaign on: April 02, 2014, 06:26:28 AM
Yup he's gone.  What I suspect he did is pay people upfront for renting sig space for a couple weeks promoting his website and the investment.  The "investors" were left holding the bag and he made back his upfront costs and then some.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / FoolCoin on: April 01, 2014, 06:56:13 PM

Obviously an April Fool's joke from the Motley Fool but I thought it was pretty funny and well done.

86  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gamblex signature campaign not paying out on: April 01, 2014, 06:33:12 PM
I haven't received the payment as well.

Right after the so-called IPO ended, he locked the threads, and blocked PMs.
His site gamblex.org becomes a blank page, so as his facebook and twitter.

So, I guess it is pretty obvious what happened.

Yup.  OP I would move this to the scam accusations page.

(this isn't me and sorry for the creepy dude)

Keep in mind the two that are for sale here are only semi automatic and have the 16+in barrel.  The way I see it... it only takes one anyways.

Lol I like how the guy spins the gun to face him without even checking to see if its cleared.  Scary that someone like that can own a fully automatic weapon.

As for the PS-90, it's a great gun especially for close quarters due to being compact and using smaller rounds.  I like how the mag doesn't extend downwards like most rifles and also that the cartridges eject downwards as well.
88  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Strange mail from Coinbase... on: April 01, 2014, 06:20:33 PM
I received 3 payment requests similar to you guys from mailinator. I talked to support and they said somehow they got our email and just can use that to send requests. Just decline the requests and no harm done. When I first logged in i was a little nervous but no big deal they spammed out coinbase like they would your email

My advice would be to not deny the payment just yet, you might want to leave it sit.  What they're probably doing is phishing to see who has a Coinbase account and/or who is active on their account.  If you deny the payment it will let them know that you have an active Coinbase account and will likely lead to more spam.  Just my thoughts.  So long as you don't pay them, having the request sit shouldn't do anything.  Coinbase should be the ones removing.
89  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Strange mail from Coinbase... on: April 01, 2014, 05:19:25 PM
What I want to know is where the hackers got the email addresses from.  The links are legit, they're originating from Coinbase but some users here don't even have an account so it has to be a leak from somewhere else.  Gox database maybe?
90  Economy / Economics / Re: Why don't we see US$ hyperinflation? on: April 01, 2014, 06:44:46 AM
Almost anybody surfing these forums is familiar with Austrian economic school views and the drill that goes along following lines:

- massive US debt
- even bigger unfunded liabilites
- massive FED printing of money
- mismanagement, debasing of currency has led (across space and time) to one thing and one thing only which is hyperinflation

Sitload of books predict the financial doomsday - some of them now almost a decade old.

So how come US and it's counterfeited dollar are still afloat? Why isn't it happening?

Inflation is caused by an increase in BOTH the money supply AND the velocity of money.  Your points only address supply.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When the USD collapses what will happen to Bitcoin? on: April 01, 2014, 06:29:27 AM
It's much more than a direct effect if something like the USD collapses.  It's not like if X happens then the outcome will be Y.  The shadow banking system dwarfs the regular banking system, and derivatives like interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, etc., will bring the whole world crashing down.  It's not a linear thing that can be tracked or predicted, it's a giant spiderweb of mess that you really cannot untangle in an orderly fashion.  Look at what happened when Bear Stearns went under and they were nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Bitcoin has its purpose in the future of money and the storage of wealth but the tinfoil hat apocalypse/SHTF people need to stop because as some have mentioned, you're better off with guns, food and a bunker if the US collapses.  I don't care where you live.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Waiting for Buffett to pump an altcoin. on: March 31, 2014, 07:01:39 PM

Roll Eyes  And who is the largest contributor to Gates' fund you dumbass?   And yeah you said, "will probably get greedy" which is basically saying he will be greedy.  Glad to be on your ignore list, now go sit in the corner with your tinfoil hat.
Pop quiz hotshot. Who said "Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful?" I didn't say he will be greedy, he did. Capiche?

Lol, an investment mantra is what you're coming back with?  All he's saying is to be a contrarian.  You simply have to look up the amount of money he's given away to see that the man is far from greedy.

Quote
Buffett is No. 2 on the Forbes 400, with a fortune of $46 billion as of our most recent tally. As the originator, together with Bill Gates, of the Giving Pledge, a commitment to donate at least half of a donor’s fortune before they die, he has already given huge sums. He has pledged to give away 99% of his fortune. Forbes calculates that Buffett has donated at least $9.5 billion in shares of Berkshire Hathaway to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. That sum does not include 2012’s $3 billion pledge to his children’s philanthropies.

Wow only 99% of his fortune?  What a greedy dick! You're best to put me on the ignore list like you said you would, you're making yourself look like a complete imbecile.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Waiting for Buffett to pump an altcoin. on: March 31, 2014, 06:05:09 PM
I hate to pick on the guy. I'm sure he's nice, but slamming Bitcoin deserves a response. One day he will finally start to understand cryptocurrencies and will probably get greedy like so many other newbies. I predict he will gravitate in the way so many investors do and invest in developing an altcoin rather than help Bitcoin develop. I'm not saying he should buy bitcoins. In fact, I hope I'm wrong and he stays completely out of cryptocurrencies. He would cause more harm than good like so many others with more money than sense.

You're calling Buffet greedy?  You realize he's one of the biggest philanthropists in the world, right?  He embraces what he understands, and he doesn't understand Bitcoin.  I hardly see him slamming it, I do see him saying he doesn't understand it, which is entirely fair.  Calling him greedy and lumping him in with "newbies" makes you look like an ignorant fool.
He calls it a "mirage" which is a hallucination or delusion. The Bitcoin developers are not delusional. So he's a philanthropist. What cause has he championed? At least Gates set some real goals for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Besides, I didn't say he was greedy. I'm sure his wealth came from a deep sense of sacrifice like Mother Theresa. But when Cryptocurrencies finally reach a major adoption stage, he may change his tune as he watches his BRK.A start to fade away into dust. Welcome to my ignore list, Mr Ignorant Fool.

Roll Eyes  And who is the largest contributor to Gates' fund you dumbass?   And yeah you said, "will probably get greedy" which is basically saying he will be greedy.  Glad to be on your ignore list, now go sit in the corner with your tinfoil hat.

Subscriptions are closed.

Curious what this means.

No new subscriptions? Or subscription is ending?

no new subscriptions or renewals.

service stops mid July for those who paid thru to that time.

one of the purposes for the letter from the beginning was to evangelize Bitcoin to those who valued my vision and to help kids become millionaires.  that vision has now been fulfilled and i have no further desire to continue the service.

it's been fun.

While I was never a subscriber, I'm sure you helped a ton of people realize that dream.  You had a strong conviction, stuck to it, and even helped others along the way.  Best of luck to you in future endeavours.

97  Economy / Services / Re: Buying Site Memberships on: March 30, 2014, 08:40:00 PM
@CurbsideProphet: Some people try to act like a moderator even when they aren't. Anyway, I have no issues and you were just generalizing the category of those sites in a wrong way. Not every site with adult content is porn. Well, you at least confirmed that these are not malicious sites so that works out for me.

If anyone else is interested, send me a PM, I have a long list of sites.

And PM me only if you are serious about the deal and not just out of curiosity to know the list of sites.

For the record, in my initial post I said they were "adult webcam" sites, which they are, I never used the word porn nor disclosed specific sites until your reply.  I wasn't trying to be a moderator, had I seen a way to profit by helping you with minimal risk to me, I would have taken your offer.  However, my concerns are and remain valid and it's my right to bring it up publicly so others who want to deal with you are aware of the potential dangers.  Whether they want to go forward is totally up to them.

I appreciate that you're doing things legit from FFL to FFL (any newbies to guns this is the way you ALWAYS buy guns online if you live in the US).  I just wanted to let the guy know since he was unfamiliar that the process could be more time consuming, depending on where he lives, so take that into account.  The clip thing is just a pet peeve and I shouldn't have come across so snarky.  I wish you the best in your sale.

 Shocked

As in you're not taking in any new customers or you aren't making any more predictions going forward?  I'm assuming the latter as doing the former is of no benefit to you.
