81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbay? what do you think. Does it really offer more than all other alts ? on: November 28, 2020, 01:27:30 PM
This thread seeks to establish is whether or not Bitbay offers more technically than any other alt outside of the top 100 or top 50? Even the top 25. This is not an attemp to claim it is the best project out (although it may be)and to unfairly criticise other projects. I want to hear why any members feel it is not.

What I wanted to do was have a transparent and fair comparison the design and technical advantages that each project has and how those designs open up opportunities for real world applications and use cases.

I've not heard any other criticism other than people are not aware of it. That is entirely irrelevant for this thread.
I want to know what projects if there are any out there offer more than Bitbay outside of the top 100 or even top 50.
I am also a huge fan of ethereum and several other very large projects but I want to locate and invest in lower cap projects for obvious reasons.

So far I see no member suggesting a project that comes even close to offering what Bitbay does for anywhere near this price range. Take into account it is the only plausible fully decentralized peg out there and DDE market place that exists.
The use cases for this are enormous. The elegant design is quite unique.

82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbay? what do you think. Does it really offer more than all other alts ? on: November 27, 2020, 11:11:10 PM
No, Other alts like Tron, XRP, XLM, Litecoin, Ethereum, EOS, and more are more offer things rather than Bitbay project. I visit the link and the projects since 2014, old project right, but I never hear about it. And I try to search it on coinmarketcap and I found nothing. My reference to the rate that the coin is good or not. So the answers are clear Bitbay is shitcoin for me, this is my personal opinion, you may disagree

But what Im asking is does Bitbay offer more technically than all other alts.
Not if it is more expensive.

For example if cars with 20bhp and square wheels cost 1M dollars and I was only asking 10k for a car with 1000bhp and round wheels then would that mean the 1000bhp car was a shit car?

Now I'm not suggesting eth is a shitcoin. Xrp is certainly a centralized garbage project and if you examined the distribution, xlm is a copy of xrp with good distribution. Tron I'm not sure about.
However the entire goal of most people here to is find projects that compete technically with the top alts that are under the radar and point of entry is very low.

Judging a project by its market cap is a not entirely sensible.
One must evaluate the technical aspects and the potential usecases.
When I have questioned highly respected developers from other very innovative projects they have agreed Bitbay is a hyper advanced project that is perhaps the most underrated here.

I want to hear from people that really want to make a technical comparison between projects.
I feel that is most useful.

One should not worry about the price especially since it is at the mercy of 3rd party centralized exchanges.
Bitbay is currently constructing it's own in house decentralized exchange.

Compare technically with regard real world practical usecases.
Eth is outstanding of course but is magnitudes more expensive.
Cmc is highly manipulated and very misleading.

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbay? what do you think. Does it really offer more than all other alts ? on: November 27, 2020, 10:31:12 PM
There are lots of Alts that claim to offer more. Most of those are never completed.

This can be applied to many alts but with Bitbay if you examine it closely you will notice it is complete to a stage where it is fully functioning. There is some polishing to be done but it is nearer completion than the vast majority of alt projects.
I am not claiming Bitbay is definitely the best alt project. I am asking other members to tell me does it offer more than all other alt projects. I think it does and certainly it offers more than anything that is not a top 20 coin.
Take a look before assuming it is like most other alts out there. This project has some very original and interesting features that could have some real world usecases.

Download the web market place and watch the video tutorials. You will see what I mean.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: November 27, 2020, 05:22:03 PM
I think the marketplace is brilliant. However for real adoption you will need a web based and android ios version.
The ordinary person wanting to buy things or even more sellers are going to want to use it that way rather than download Bitbay market place. Although it is great and super innovative.
It would be nice to see a solid core in the community here. Some communities have a core of very dedicated and organised people that work together to help the project advance and they appear very active and alive.
That encourages new members here to become involved.
Bitbay really lacks this. It appears to be a part time project and that doesn't install confidence compared to decimated fulltime teams.
I say it appears because the work done here exceeds most other projects so the dev teams must be active but the community doesn't hear much from them so will die away.
How many hard core active community members does Bitbay have?

A raiblocks seed will work?

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: November 27, 2020, 10:52:51 AM
Doc, we will keep moving forward and eventually break through. Pressure over time makes diamonds.

This project gets more promising each time I visit it. Has the community moved somewhere?
Why is this thread so dead? The other alts I'm following threads are becoming active again. I'm surprised this community is not regrouping right now. Does anyone know if the bay stores or locked on cryptopia were moved?
Or is there still hope for their safe return?

As far as I know Cryptopia exit scammed. The community here is quiet but tight. There are a few new projects in the works here, there will be posts for sure of any changes. But you can count on Bitbay becoming a big success in the near future  Cool Smiley

I like your enthusiasm but the community does seem dead.
The product deserves a lot more recognition. It also needs to have a reliable exchange and a functioning web marketplace.
Even more importantly it needs a community behind it that is useful and helps build awareness.
It does not help at all that there is an exchange called Bitbay that appears on Google at the top when you search for Bitbay.

If there were even 10 determined bit bay enthusiasts on this forum it could work wonders if they organised and did something effective. I feel sorry for the dev who has produced something quite brilliant only for nobody of consequence to notice it

A reliable easily accessible exchange is essential. There is little point in marketing something that nobody can purchase.

This would be a good idea for Bitbay also

87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best altcoin to buy now on discount? on: November 26, 2020, 10:21:08 PM
You really need to put months of research before choosing.
If you wish to make money you must look for

#developers with prior track record demonstrating ability to create something novel and desirable
#developers that work away for months and years without over hyping their project.
#very low market cap but excellent and credible project that rivals and surpasses design of much larger and expensive projects.
#completed or near completed to a test level

Then seek those developers out and question them about other projects and see how aware they are of their competition and how they honestly feel they are creating something that really stands out.

This takes a long time and a lot of effort.
You will probably isolate only a handful of potential x100
You should put 75% in bitcoin and eth.
Spread the other 25% on the potential x100 alts.

I am holding btc eth and a small amount of dash and ADA

My best hopes for x100 are

Bitbay - first smart contract, DDE and decentralized rolling pegging system ( not the exchange called bitbay)
And some others that I need to accumulate more of like blacknet, byteball, blocknet
The fortunes are always made on the small caps that explode. They are also very risky.
Do your own investigation
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbay? what do you think. Does it really offer more than all other alts ? on: November 26, 2020, 12:35:59 PM
The confusing replies above were explained when I realized that some exchange has named themselves Bitbay?
I mean for this thread to focus on Bitbay the decentralized marketplace and rolling peg. I hear they are to launch a decentralized exchange shortly but that is nothing to do with this other Bitbay exchange.

I have not seen an alt that offers more in terms of potential use cases, utility and plausible real world application. The rolling pegging is the only decentralized way to smooth price fluctuations that is entirely trustless.
I don't think it is quite aggressive enough but that could be adjusted.
If you can suggest another project here that you feel offers anything like Bitbay outside of the top 100 please post it here.
I am interested in comparing Bitbay with any others that offer similar value currently.

I dont know why they have avoided all marketing until the project is complete. I think this is a mistake the larger projects advertise and market long before they have produced anything functional.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbay? what do you think. Does it really offer more than all other alts ? on: November 26, 2020, 01:01:19 AM
The exchange being constructed is going to be very interesting. Bittrex delisting and cryptopia failing was not good but having your own independent exchange will be a huge step forward.

With the Bitbay base code, can other 3rd party teams built services on top of it? It seems ideal for futures or sports betting, and you could have hosts of independent fully automated stores with auto escrow for high value items like bullion.

Yes it can. In the future the community will be able to create a library of both open source and closed source dapps.
These smart contracts can run "under the hood" in any website that wishes to integrate BitBay as a payment option. And since BitBay is already providing a price stabilizing mechanism, it gives us that much more appeal to be used as a payment method!
The automated escrow is key to keeping the contracts trustless. And when you no longer need a middleman to host the contract, you can cut out the fees associated with them.
This puts more money back into the pockets of the users!

I have used the market wallet and it is one of the most advanced I have used. The number of options is quite immense. Is there a planned web and phone based front end with all of the same features? The videos and tutorial are very good.  There could be a few more.
I can find no other project that comes close to offering anything like this project does outside of the top 20 that is anywhere near completion.
I actually started this thread to entice other members to suggest any other projects that offer something like Bitbay. It genuinely does seem to offer more than any other alt out there and certainly more than anything outside of the very most well known and billion dollar caps.

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: These 2 Altcoins are beating every major cryptocurrency in week on: November 25, 2020, 11:16:06 AM
Xrp I wouldn't touch due to the centralized control.
Ada is nice but does not have the network effect of ethereum. I do prefer Ada over Eos.
If I was gambling to make large returns I would be looking at way lower market caps where x100 is possible rather than x5.
There are projects that offer similar and greater benefits for x100 cheaper.

92  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 23, 2020, 01:53:45 PM
Thank you, yes some good advice. I think I will sell enough to repurchase my silver holdings and some of my gold.
I fully believe in bitcoin long term. I enjoy that 21m is the limit there can ever be. I do also like the security that some silver and gold can give. One thing the riots have made me think about is the possible future of a quick move. Silver is quite heavy for the value it can provide. I don't think I could walk far looking inconspicuous if I was having to carry much value of silver along with everything else I'd wish to take. Gold easier, and BTC all there in a few words in your memory.

I still wish to accumulate to 10btc so I'm going to be a little greedy and look for a 30k retrace. To sell some extra, and hopefully get in again after a nice retrace. People who said I have missed the boat with bitcoin are seeing that was not true.
I'm also investing in some low value alts 0.2btc.
Are there any bitcoin traders who have had reliable success with technical analysis. Is it true that because bitcoin is easier to manipulate by certain whales compared to forex, that using technical analysis can drop you into traps prepared by bitcoin whales. What is a whale? 1000btc or 100k btc?  I would think 100BTC is a massive sum but that would not allow you to move markets much would it?

93  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 23, 2020, 12:50:49 PM
If we break through the 20k barrier, where is the next resistance point in peoples opinions on here?
I sold everything I could most of my silver and all my gold eagles and both my bikes. I purchased at aeound 4k 6k 8k. I'm hugely up. I have this new target of eventually holding 10btc. I want to jump out before we get a big retrace and stock up at the bottom of the dip. Like all members I expect. So do you think 30k or 50k the peak before a big retrace this time?
I realize it is only speculation, still interested to hear the opinions of people here.
I'm learning some chart reading and this momentum trading book I have seems interesting. I have been informed that following technical analysis can be used by whales to set traps for small traders.

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COVAL]Fit an entire cryptoportfolio into one #NFT token with Emblem Vault! on: November 23, 2020, 12:12:15 PM
So coval is currently an Eth token?
What was the story about certain coval holders being offered opportunities to swap for some kind of stake or other exclusive benefit? What was that about?
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitbay? are there any projects that offers these features? suggest some please! on: November 23, 2020, 11:58:03 AM
I've been looking at this project Bitbay for several months. It does appear to offer an incredible feature set and is fully functional.
Was it actually the first alt to offer smart contracts?  I have some dash, eth, eos, cardano , and few others from way back and some Bitbay. Who here has researched Bitbay thoroughly? Why is this project not more widely known?
I'm looking to hear from those that have actually studied Bitbay.
What's the catch?  Are there more advanced projects around at a sub 300 market cap? It appears to offer more than many of the top 100 projects here and is older and is completely functional?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=890531.0

 https://bitbay.market/

I don't like their website but that is not important for now.
Does it offer more than any other alt project outside of the top 100 alts? Top 50?
Does anyone have any criticisms of the project from a technical perspective?
I have invested around 3% of my crypto wealth in Bitbay the remaining in BTC, ada, eth, and a few others. I will increase to 10% bay if other projects do not surface through comparison that offer more value.
As far as I know this project is unrelated to Bitbay exchange.

Looking to compare Bitbay to any project outside of the top 25 let's go.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Blacknet | PoS | Blockchain platform | In development on: September 20, 2020, 11:03:31 AM
I downloaded and tried to install blacknet for windows pc v1.2

All I see is a big black box with no writing at all?

Is there a minimum resolution? Or have I done something wrong?
I see in user appdata blacknet and things filling up?i think my resolution is 1280 x768
Is that why I can just see a black box do I need a new monitor?

Also did aex remove the btc market? I was sure there was a bln btc market before now I just see cnc
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COVAL] Circuits Of Value - Emblem Vault on: May 19, 2020, 01:08:29 PM
Joe

Not all information has been available on this thread, It has mostly been on the telegram group.

The token metrics for it still hasn't been sorted completely for it, and its fluid in its usage.

Read the AMA all parts of it to see the information that the main community has, if you want the speculative tinfoil hat version read Hughbt's.

If the deadline for the 3.5x swap have passed then that does not appear to be fluid.
My brother who introduced me to this has told me he suspects shannon to be a scammer who will keep changing the rules and creating hoops to jump through until the original investors are left with a worthless side project that is irrelevant to the core project they are unwittingly funding.

He left when the " loyyal" lie was originally exposed. This was never a token used in the loyyal eco system.

The comment to a large coval owner " it is too late for them"  when they are in the same boat as every other coval holder that was not invited to the secret non disclosure club is another red flag.

I note dabs is here involved. Has he signed the non disclosure?

It is perhaps time to become a lot more transparent and informative on this thread.
I would also suggest if members have concrete evidence of wrongdoing or very shady tactics like some devs employ which is basically to use one project to extract investors funds to build a side project which becomes dominant then to contact some of the members here that investigating these things thoroughly.

This is not looking good. This rebranding 2x , misinformation about loyyal, now swapping to erc20, now converting to another token at rates that on initial inspection look unhealthy.

In his ama shannon says " worries about emblem being a success without coval"  that was not possible previously

Better than shannon Code and emblem are branded a scam and this put on the main forum and thoroughly investigated.
There are clear red flags here.

Any tokens available to purchase with coval that were directly linked to the emblem project should have been long discussed and pre announced here.

These " opportunities" that you claim people are bitter about missing out on here where not even mentioned here
After the loyyal bombshell this is another huge red flag
Selling a token under with false promises or deliberately misleading investors is a scam.
Those assisting with it are scammers.

98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COVAL] Circuits Of Value - Emblem Vault on: May 19, 2020, 03:11:02 AM
Desktop I see that you have just deleted one sentence from your post so I will keep it here for anyone to see:

Quote
You want the same deal as the first round of pre salers, you missed the boat 2 years ago and then last year. That’s your problem, not ours.

That's the kind of attitude they are presenting. IT'S ONLY YOUR PROBLEM, NOT OURS. WE SCREWED YOU AND IT'S YOUR PROBLEM. I will make sure that everyone on twitter, mission-r or wherever I can post it knows about it.

This all sounds worrying?

I have held ribbit rewards then it was loyal and now coval?
I think latest was a swap to etc20

Mbits?

Has all information been available on this thread?

99  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 19, 2020, 01:36:31 AM

Current recommended fee - 158 sat/byte
It’s butthurt miners absolutely fuming at the block reward halving so they’re prioritising high fee transactions to try & make some money back. People are paying higher & higher fees to try & get a quick confirmation.

Edit - mempool is massive

this is precisely how markets work, and saving us from chain freeze

This is true but these sudden spikes can catch you out.
I was sending my cousin some small amount in bitcoin for some silver rounds he had dropped off ( I am just trying to get him into bitcoin a bit. I know he will start collecting it and long term it is going to be better than him only stacking silver )

I left it in default settings on electrum and the fee must have shot up so I didnt get even 1 confromation for many hours.
Didn't think it would work and someone said it will just be forgotten in the end and will not go through. I sent him it again with a far larger fee. Now he got them both. Says he wants payment in bitcoin everytime now:)
I said he can keep it. I had a very good couple of weeks on just one alt coin that I didnt buy very long before and will be heading for near on 2btc soon. Crazy times.

As a quick question are the traders on this thread expecting low 8's again before going past 10.2? And if we go past 10.2 the next hard resistance will be at low 14s? Considering a tiny gamble now I had a good win.

100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 24, 2020, 07:32:05 PM
The silver spot price is incredibly tempting.
Bitcoin is still massively under priced.
Bitcoin may have more possible short term dips
Bitcoin should have larger long term returns
I want a little more gold. I do not have any amount that would be noticed in your pocket.

Loading my wallet up to admire my 1+ bitcoin never gets old. Grin
I think we are in for a huge rise in many assets. Eventually, surely, all of these cash injections must find their way to these assets? Or am I wrong about this assumption? I didn't study economics or anything else really at school.
The bitcoin price increase is going to be huge since it is capped at 21m and new supply rate is going to be halved.
Will bitcoin hit 60k before silver hits 150 dollars ?
It seems very likely it will so even considering the gold silver ratio and huge drop in silver. I expect bitcoin is still the way to go?
In a shtf scenario silver may be better than both as I think producing a gold eagle would get you in trouble.
Cash or fiat for now is still the most convenient and useful.
Are most keeping cash in hand right now or still stacking bitcoin silver gold or alts? Stocks?

Would the price of bitcoin rise or fall if btc went pos like eth is planning?
Will covid blow over in 6 to 18 months? This could be important
