[/quote]

https://www.coindesk.com/binances-coinmarketcap-acquisition-is-a-bet-that-crypto-really-is-for-the-masses

https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-programmer-at-the-center-of-a-100-billion-crypto-storm-1516708800

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chainlink is a shitcoin and will dump to zero on: October 19, 2020, 12:26:21 AM
I believe it is a great short opportunity. You can profit a lot by holding shorts call and receiving the Funding Rebate. It was an impressive up but with little real purchase volume, a lot of speculation
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has the properties of an employment opportunity on: October 18, 2020, 11:52:50 PM
It doesn't make any sense what you said. This is a forum and Bitcoin is a social experiment. Neither are
for-profit corporation.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase to Support Bitcoin Core Developers on: October 16, 2020, 04:10:30 PM
Who decides on significant code changes? Wondering what the criteria of that would be whether it would be over x amount of code changes, or a subjective decision from Coinbase.
As per the article, the proposal will be shortlisted by existing core developers and "important" community members. So coinbase is probably not looking for those who have already been core developers like Luke Jr who shared a post on twitter talking about having to go back to working full time after 10 years contributing to bitcoin. Its a bit surprising because core developers like him should probably be comfortably sitting on some old Sats stash.

He has a patreon page with 48 sponsors
https://www.patreon.com/LukeDashjr

https://twitter.com/LukeDashjr/status/1316052973881966592
"Might also have to go back to more paid work myself soon.

I appreciate those who have stepped up to sponsor my work, but it seems there's simply too few willing to contribute. Sad"

_________________

I think that more industries should have attitudes like this. But all developers seem to have some kind of link to contributions. Whether by pages like the patreon or by direct donation.

This idea of a company being the largest, and only, sponsor of a core developer, does not seem very good. These companies should join the thousands of other individual sponsors. Therefore, it would be more difficult to believe that there is any kind of benefit for these companies.

86  Local / Economia & Mercado / Re: OKEx suspende saques on: October 16, 2020, 03:53:49 PM
Eu to bem preocupado.

87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Billionaires Are Suddenly Buying Bitcoin on: October 15, 2020, 07:13:29 PM
Inflation, Inflation, Inflation.
Americans doesn't have much idea of how destructive inflation is. But billionaires know it well. That is why they are looking for exotic investments that can help escape the possible global inflation that we are going to experience. In addition to the extremely low interest rates that encourage you to risk more with investments.
88  Local / Brasil / Re: Corretora brasileira lança 'Big Brother' das criptomoedas on: October 14, 2020, 01:21:00 PM

http://blockchain.org

I thought it was really stupid. Unfortunately he continues to use his money for this type of marketing. The name blockchain is very strong and probably used a lot. Too bad he bought it to redirect to TRON. Blockchain.com is one of the most well-known sites.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on recent move of 1000 coins mined back in 2010? on: October 12, 2020, 11:26:53 PM
Maybe he finally found the hd he was looking for. With the Bitcoin he had mined. Imagine the feeling, it must be incredible. I find it very unlikely that this is a trader's strategy, or that he will use an exchange. But he will probably realize some of the profit he made.

Or maybe someone found an old HD from another owner, his password. There are many possibilities and I believe that most have to do with some forgotten and unsaved wallet.
91  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: "The Great Reset" (WEF - World Economic Forum/2021) - Artigo do Mises Brasil on: October 12, 2020, 03:13:55 PM

92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeFi benefiting Bitcoin? on: October 12, 2020, 02:46:39 PM
For most people when reading about any crypto project they tend to find out about Bitcoin as well. So in theory it helps to know more about the whole ecosystem. Since DeFi is complex and requires study.

But as mentioned, no DeFI is built on top of Bitcoin. It does not use the same code. It is not possible to trade with Bitcoin.

The only impact is on the Fomo that people use and end up buying everything while the bubble is rising.
93  Economy / Speculation / Re: What could be the impact of the US election on currencies? on: October 12, 2020, 04:54:32 AM
Elections are more about the value of the dollar. So far there have been few statements about Bitcoin from candidates. I don't know their position. But the dollar is very volatile, many bet on a devaluation, this would affect the price of Bitcoin increasing its value in relation to the dollar. Inflation, unbridled printing of money, increase in the debt bubble.

Now, this is in the long run. Most want to understand the impacts in the 6 months after the election.

"The dollar may tumble to its lows of 2018 on the rising likelihood of Joe Biden winning the U.S. election and progress on a coronavirus vaccine, according to Goldman Sachs Group Inc"

94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex hackers move another $30million on: October 11, 2020, 03:21:43 PM
The real news is to know that they still have access to the wallet. This is the most worrying. Trying to understand what strategies they could use is a curiosity I have. What would be the next steps? The main thing is to use it in a way that doesn't bring connections, so they can't buy anything directly. Would they probably use a mixer or an exchange?

I found this post here offering the reward.
https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/494
I believe it could be a good opportunity to earn some money to plan their next steps and anticipate how to find out who they are or any leads.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin "mining cartel" (centralization power) on: October 11, 2020, 02:38:54 PM
You are missing the point, as long as Bitcoin and cryptos, decentralized, in general, are not imposed by a government by force, you will always have options. And that includes making centralization as difficult as possible. There will always be fork options, changing the code by consensus. And several other options that make centralization difficult for one region or goverment.

Bitcoin is a choice of people, for people.
96  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: B2U COIN - Último dia! on: October 11, 2020, 02:13:17 PM

Their twitter account seems to have been suspended. And the activity on Reddit is minimal. But I think you're talking about the price, right? This is more complicated, I do not think they have reached any major news for the price to rise more than the average.

98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years and no country has approved Bitcoin ?? on: October 09, 2020, 10:42:38 PM
What you really need to understand, is the power that being able to print your own money has. That's why there are so many currency. We live in a world of financial leverage. Printing today means controlling the basic interest rate of your economy, The government's ability to borrow at the rate it wants. Control the population's purchasing power. Control imports and exports.

It becomes very difficult to have a caged beast like Bitcoin, free in your country. The government loses that power and needs to create other instruments if it wants to continue to have that control.

That said, Bitcoin can only become a currency with great circulation in a country if society does so. Society needs to start seeing its advantages and freedoms. It is the power that breaks borders and diminishes governments, especially those that are excessively controlling.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP got 30 new WHALES!!! on: October 09, 2020, 06:20:48 PM
Incredible as an extremely centralizing project. Owned by a company that has already demonstrated that it is not necessary to use it for its projects. It finds so much potential and market yet. We have several innovative projects looking for the oracle of decentralization. It is bad to have this project at such a relevant level and attracting so many big investors. They should invest in innovation. Support those who can truly revolutionize.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Bubble Burst? on: October 09, 2020, 06:16:40 PM
DeFi's big challenge is regulation. I believe if Biden wins, we will have a fall never seen before. Unlike Bitcoin which has been gaining support, new projects are still viewed with great suspicion. Mainly by regulators. Bitcoin is heading towards being a commodity. DeFi challenges many people, including those who run the money.
