81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 25, 2024, 06:39:21 PM
It was a narrow escape for Liverpool who came against another stronger team Chelsea,  but then Liverpool is the king of the tournament and for sure managing to win with a 1 goals to none is good,  and for sure since the closest to them Manchester city also won with same goal amount of just 1:0 which will keep them away from the closing up on them on the table but with the current outcome of both clubs it gives Liverpool more time to keep the possibility window to go on with the current title winning based on points.
Looking at Liverpool lineup, I never gave them a chance. I am disappointed in Chelsea, they couldn’t get a win against these youngsters Klopp brought on. I wonder how they would have fared if Liverpool had their main midfielders present today. I don’t think the game would have went into extra time.

It’s the league cup final: Chelsea vs Liverpool

With a three match winning streak, Chelsea are in high spirits. If Chelsea wins, they will be in the conference league next season. It will be more easier for Chelsea to win the EFL cup, considering the injuries that Liverpool are suffering. Chelsea are at their best when competing against big teams. I’m expecting a high scoring game and a very entertaining match.

Finally, Fulham gets a goal for all their hard work, they have been unarguably the better side in the game. I think they should press even more for another goal. Anything can happen in football but I don’t see Manchester United coming back into this game. I can’t wait to see who Manchester United fans are going to blame for this loss. Is it going to be the usual suspects, Erik Ten Hag or Andre Onana?

HT. Manchester United 0 Vs 0 Fulham
In many recent games that Manchester United are flute I've noticed that they may not win the game beautifully, but they somehow find a way to win the game at the end. Against Fulham, I think that the game will not end differently because even though the game is drawn at half time, I believe that Manchester United will somehow find a way to win this game even if it is by just a goal. Scott McTominay may just come in and score one very unexpected goal to give Manchester United the win.
Fulham have created so many chances but they are not using it wisely. They just cannot find the back of the net.  Fulham are exploiting the weak Manchester United midfield, how United have managed not to concede a goal up till now is beyond me. It’s funny that you’re still expecting Manchester United to win this game, with the way they are playing, the only chance they have is a draw.

PSG will definitely not intend to let Mbappe go on a free transfer and they will try to find a way to get him to extend his contract. But the problem faced by PSG is much more difficult because Mbappe no longer intends to extend his contract. There is no official statement from PSG yet and maybe they are trying to negotiate with the player's agent, but from well-known transfer expert sources so far the chances of Mbappe leaving PSG are getting brighter and he no longer wants to stay at PSG.

Mbappe once disappointed Real Madrid and at that time the process of his move was almost complete. But because he decided to extend his contract, Real Madrid's dream of recruiting him was dashed. If this time he makes the same mistake again then I am sure Real Madrid will not try to make another offer and maybe the option of looking for another player will be much more open.
PSG should have seen this coming, they tried so hard to make Kylian Mbappe happy and keep him in the squad, they should have sold him last season when they could have made money from the transfer. It’s their fault for not realizing how determined Mbappe is to leave the club. Almost all the media outlets are posting pictures of Mbappe in Real Madrid’s shirt, Mbappe has disappointed Real Madrid before, he could do it again. I wouldn’t keep my hopes up, there’s been so much drama surrounding this transfer that I think the end is going to surprise us.

It's really crazy seeing how the odd difference is between Manchester city and Chelsea this weekend. Manchester city has a very low odd of 1.32 and Chelsea has a staggering 7 odd which for me is really outrageous because Chelsea aren't good but I think Manchester city really found it difficult to win them at their last meeting although at that time Kevin de byrune wasn't available unlike now that he is back.
I think the bookmakers are making predictions based on Chelsea’s recent victories especially the one against Aston Villa. All round, Manchester City are the better side, Kevin de Bruyne is back and is in great form. Chelsea fans may be a bit confident because of the way they have been playing in recent times but truth be told they have not faced this kind of opponent in a while. This is not Chelsea’s game to win. It’s okay to support your club but I would not bet against Manchester City in this match.

We have seen some rumors about EPL clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool and even Arsenal who do have the same desire but until now Chelsea seems to be more serious than the other two clubs because the main problem to bring Mbappe remains in the spending budget they will face for salary issues and release clauses.
It doesn’t look likely at all, Mbappe to Arsenal or Chelsea is a step down at this point in his career. He’s achieved so much in his career, the next milestone for Mbappe can’t be playing for Arsenal. PSG has a higher fear factor than Arsenal in the football world. Chelsea is a washed up club, they do not have the same value they used to. I don’t see the attraction to either of these clubs.  All eyes on Mbappe going to Real Madrid.
89  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn how to read crypto market charts on: February 16, 2024, 11:01:04 PM

Strongly disagree with what you said op as a long-term trader I guess creating awareness of studying the crypto market charts should be more useful for both long-term holders and short-term holders too
For your knowledge, I guess it has shown me the concepts of cryptocurrency charts and what it also means.
But OP is just a question do you think many people can make a lot of money without studying the chart

@Hatchy is right. Long term hodlers do not need to study charts, do technical analysis and all that stuff. They just have to do dollar cost averaging and buy as much bitcoins as they can afford. Technical analysis is not accurate most of the time, DCA is a less risky strategy for investors.

91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: February 15, 2024, 06:46:18 PM
Gambling 100% of your salary is a way too much. You should only gamble less than 10% of your income monthly. Your friend has a huge gambling problem, he’s sunk $60k deep in the gambling pool and is desperately placing more bets in a ploy to recover his losses. He definitely cannot think straight when his motivation is to cover his losses, everyone knows that’s a recipe for disaster. It’s even more dangerous that he doesn’t know he has a gambling addiction. The first step to rehabilitation is to recognize the problem and willingness to seek professional help.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 15, 2024, 06:33:36 PM
I have not been myself since we lost the AFCON tournament, I don’t bet on the game but I wanted Nigeria to win so much that the loss broke my heart. Even when we were losing 2-1, I was still hoping for a miracle, our journey in the AFCON has been a miracle imo, we won all our games by narrow margin, it wasn’t out of place to believe we could score at last minute. Sadly, it wasn’t our night and Ivory Coast with their fans scattered all over the stadium had the victory. Reading the last two pages, I don’t understand why Iwobi is being made the villain of the Super Eagles story. I think this narrative is being pushed by Man United fans. They are used to trolling their players.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 12, 2024, 06:43:48 PM
Jose Poseiro’s all defensive strategy does not fit Iwobi and Onyeka’s style of football. So why is Iwobi being dragged on the internet? The cyber bullying is too much. The Super Eagles captain had to release a statement online to the fans to calm them down. This criticism is coming from people who did not support the Super Eagles from the start, they only joined the band wagon when they saw the team was going to make it to the final. How is Iwobi singled out as the reason Nigeria lost the finals?
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 08, 2024, 08:53:17 PM
The game yesterday came with a lot of tension. Victor Osimhen was a machine last night and though he missed three headers yesterday, he did a great job pressuring the South African defense. I think the coach took him out too early. I think Poseiro should have waited until the last ten minutes of the match. Without Osimhen, we wouldn’t have been that bullish as we were in the attack. It was really scary match for many Nigerians. Some people could not bear to watch the penalties and waited till after the end of the game to find out the results. I don’t think I have ever seen Nigerians so happy.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: February 03, 2024, 10:33:39 PM
This is where they are getting it wrongly because when they takes it so serious then it turns to worst why, because whenever they gambles and it happens that they lost then they think revenge gambling is the best and even when they knew is a revenge gambling they would still push hard to make sure to recover what they have lost previously without knowing they are gradually sinking in lost and addiction.
Bitcointalk is the only place I have ever seen anyone use the term Revenge gambling. When money is your sole motivation to gamble, it’s pretty difficult to accept that you are not going to win it all. It begs the question of which is more likely to become a gambling addict; Someone who gambles for fun or someone who gambles for profit.

$10,000 is not a small amount of money in my country and it is rare that a newbie would want to risk half of that in crypto. On a average scale, a reasonable amount would be $100-$1000. I think this is going to lead to a scam, this person is clearly targeting those with small capital and are eager to make ten times their investment. In short, this so called investment professional is indirectly proposing a get-rich-quick scheme.

Compared to any other side Nigeria has faced in the AFCON, Angola really gave the Super Eagles a run for their money. Jose Poseiro proved his worth yesterday, he’s been under heavy criticism from fans for his style of play. The fans will be singing his praises now that he is getting it right. In less than a hour, we will know who our opponent will be in the semi finals. It’s half time for Cape Verde - South Africa, it’s been a interesting match. I’m expecting we will see some goals in the second half.

Buying altcoins or investing in crypto seed sales is a risky business. IMO Newbies should not be doing any of this because they have no experience and cannot determine what project will succeed and those that won’t (even veteran investors cannot boast of predicting altcoins).

These crypto experts who dish out free advice to newbies always have a end game, something to profit from their recommendations. They could be working with the project and are only interested in shilling the coin to you. Bitcoin remains the safest crypto investment one can make. The simple strategy is to buy and hodl.

I don’t know what I will be doing when the AFCON ends, all my attention has been focused on the tournament and I have forgotten about the EPL and champions league. The last time I was this excited about the AFCON was when we had the likes of Kanu and JJ Okacha on our team.

Congratulations to the Super Eagles. They have done their nation proud. The game against Angola was so interesting that it had me on the edge of my seat till the full-time whistle was blown. The extra time added was the longest seven minutes of my life. It would have been heartbreaking if Nigeria conceded a goal in extra time.  The goalkeeper did not really need to do so much, we have only conceded one goal in the tournament and that’s because the defenders have been superb. We might just win this tournament without the goalkeeper making any heroic saves.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: February 03, 2024, 06:48:36 PM
I gambles but i don't gamble above my limits or to an extents where I can't control myself because I don't want the gambling addiction to will over me due to how some people do apply greed while gambling, so what i does is that i sets my limits and whenever my limits is reached then i quit and stops going further not to go against my wish and plans. If others are gambling and they goes above their limits or where they can't control their thought and their thirst for gambling which could ignites gambling addiction in them. Everyone has the right to gamble including both genders but when it goes against the normal way then that calls for orderliness.
I don’t believe greed is the only cause of gambling addiction because gambling addicts do not care much about winning or losing, they gamble for the feeling they get from taking high risks. I believe everything in life should be done in moderation. People fall into the trap of gambling addiction because they don’t possess the discipline to control their impulse to gamble. Anyone can suffer from addiction regardless of gender.
