where are all those "to tha mooon!!" and "HOOOLD!!!" guys now??? i miss them Sad

my job is done here, i acomplished to promote this coin at spanish comunity, put my reputation on the line trying to explain that new team avoided premine but finally they understood that AC is clean now and with a good future....

best regards guys, keep holding and staking, always needs to be a night before dawn, and AC it will see dawn soon.... take note of my words.... in the next 2 months AC price will be at least 5x current price

Generally the situation now (insane attention to a handful of coins) is keeping people away and it's the same for most coins but I'm sure they will be back once everything goes back to normal, and we're sure to have a few very interesting updates on our progress for them, the biggest one being related to merchants and how people can use AC to buy products and services.

Add directory "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\AsiaCoin"  asiacoin.conf
Code:
addnode=121.181.49.117
addnode=174.51.17.18
addnode=114.215.182.130
addnode=192.99.36.115
addnode=42.62.62.78
addnode=204.11.237.245
addnode=67.231.63.42
addnode=87.98.188.77
addnode=115.28.162.137
addnode=213.114.73.6

I checked the IPs and they're legit (in case someone was wondering), except for the last one which is 213.114.73.63 (copy-paste issue most likely). So If anyone seems to have syncroniation problems (or slow network speed), you can do this. Or you can always get them fresh from our block explorer:

http://ac.blockx.info/connected-nodes

Click on 'Get Config Ready Nodes'.

Maestro,

 I know you have broken down PoS stake 100 times here, and even sent me a PM explaining it.. but I have a mesely 214k in the wallet, and it simply aint happening... What the hell am I doing wrong?

You've been unlucky I guess (so have I, I'm in the same ship as you are). If you give me the address you hold your AC (here or PM), I can look it up in the block explorer to see if there is something wrong there.

 I did receive a stake 11 days ago, and I think something is wrong. You said it is split into 2 payments, I did get 2, but one of them is greyed out with 0 of 4 confirms, the other has 15892 confirms... PM'ing my addy now.

 Also when I look up my address on the block explorer its showing 195k when my wallet shows 214k. Something is terribly wrong.

Nope, the address you sent me shows 214 on both our block explorers. Nothing is wrong. PMed you why that's happening but posting it here for others too:

You have 214,033 AC balance, but none are yet mature for staking.

The two blocks that were generated as a result of staking your 95,059 AC block, (each 48,840 AC) will be mature on 28th.
Your 99,999 AC block will be mature on 26th.
Your 16,353 AC block will be mature on 27th.

I think the issue is that in PoS, when a block stakes, it is destroyed and two new blocks are generated (basically a transaction from yourself to yourself that its input is the old block, and the output is the two new blocks that have a value of the original block + the staked amount), those new blocks will have the age of zero.

"proof-of-stake" : 0.00296347,

high diff = need more luck / time i suppose ?

You are correct, slavo.

If interest is fixed for the first 2 months at 100%APR, what does luck have to do with anything?
Shouldn't we just received a fixed amount at exactly 14 days past coin birthday?

There is no fixed interest in PoS (and using the word 'interest' is wrong), and using banking terms is also wrong. PoS staking is not the same as the interest you get from a bank.

Read:

Guys, about staking.

PoS (and PoW) are stochastic processes, it means there's a certain element of luck involved. If you see other PoS coin threads, the same questions has been continuously asked. PoS staking is like PoW mining, it's not a bank-style interest rate, it's a competition between minters to stake a block so the more people stake, the less likely it will be to find a block quickly. You can see the PoS difficulty by using the getdifficulty command from the debug console.

The stake rate (for all coins) refers to the amount of staking you receive when a mature block of coins that you have is staking another block, and the time it takes to stake it.

For example, if you have a block of 1000 AC with mature coins staking, and it takes 10 days to mint a new block, your old 1000 AC block is destroyed and you will get two payments in smaller blocks, each around 513.5 AC, adding to 1027 AC, or a 2.7% increase in 10 days, which is the same as 100% increase in a year. Once this happens, the new block age will be zero.

This is basically how PoS works. If you have a larger staking block, it will mint a block sooner (maybe within minutes of starting to stake), if you have a smaller one, it will take longer, maybe many days but your interest rate is calculated by the amount it took to stake the block. There are lots of PoS articles out there that explain this in detail.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: May 23, 2014, 11:00:03 AM
Great new.
But it is summer now, VGA card is so hot, if UTC can change to x11, I'll back.

X11 has a much lower ASIC resistance compared to scrypt-jane. What UTC needs is a X11 multipool now so that miners like you who want to use X11 for the time being can use that, however remain onto scrypt-jane as the most ASIC resistant algo there is.

I think it's usefull to add a page on thunderclap or something how people can buy the asiacoin.
A lot of people don't know where they can buy bitcoin and which exchange they can used to buy asiacoin.

Yeah, we will do this on an update for the Thunderclap before the time ends.

Thunderclap is now 100%

don't forget, if you haven't supported our Thunderclap, you still can: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/11729-asiacoin-asia-s-own-bitcoin

Thanks everyone who supported their own coin. You did brilliantly. Monday noon (New York time), our Thunderclap goes viral. Be sure to be around.

a small question how to improve Asiacoin

the nodes

just today downloaded Bitcoin blockchain - it downloads in 1.5 hours ( 20+ GB )
whereas Dogecoin blockchain ( just over 4 GB ) most likely downloads 15 hours

maybe this Bitcoin speed and Dogecoin slowness is a number of nodes ?

how it is with Asiacoin : everybody who has opened wallet on a network becomes a node

or needs special soft ?

have seen somewhere for Bitcoin must install special soft and system

maybe we should try to have more nodes so blockchain downloads in few minutes on a fast connection ?

For all coins, any open wallet is a node as the blockchain is transferred using P2P protocols. Some coins have super nodes which are basically wallets with very fast connections (Gbps) and high availability. We also do have some super nodes on high speed servers with high availability across the world.

Our network is actually pretty strong and our blockchain download speed is better than most coins out there, as people keep their wallets open for PoS staking. You can easily connect to 100s of nodes at any time. In case you need to, you can get (some) active node IPs from our block explorer.

is it bad ac is on second place now?

https://www.coinpayments.net/vote-thanks

Or does anybody know how many coins they will add?

I have seen it's seems it's the top 4.

But anybody knows how long this voting will go on?

In the past top 4 or 5 were added (basically all coins that showed interest, interest being getting more than 20 votes).

You can vote for AsiaCoin to mined through Genesis-Mining contracts!

More info here : http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/2014/5/22/genesis-mining-vote-for-coins-to-be-added-more-features-announced#

Thanks for pointing this out. Do they understand that AC is PoS now? since their other coins are PoW.

Hey, I had about 10.000 AC on Mintpal and now they are gone. What happened to them?!

You need to contact Mintpal.

I just did. I hope they recover the AC. But I hope I haven't bought the premined AC which have been removed. :/

No need to worry. We did not invalidated those coins so even if you bought from the premined coins, it should be there and valid. Only the premined coins in the original developer's wallet, that were still there, were invalidated.

Dear friends, old and new,

There are some ways which you can support AsiaCoin and the foundation, some are free and take only a couple of clicks, some are very cheap.

Support AsiaCoin

Voting for CoinPayments:

CoinPayments.net Vote NOW!

http://www.coinpayments.net/vote

What you need to do:

1. Go to the website.
2. Choose AsiaCoin and click Submit.
3. Fill out the form to get your own BTC deposit address.
4. Send 0.001 BTC - or equivalent in LTC/Doge - to that address (make sure to add a transaction fee to ensure it arrives within 4 hours!)
5. Confirm your email (click on the link sent to your email). They will send the confirmation email after your BTC transaction gets 6 confirmations. If you don't do this, your vote won't get confirmed.

Done! Please read my other post about CoinPayments to know why this is very important for AsiaCoin.

Don't forget to click on the link in the confirmation email, which they send once your transaction is completed and after its 6 or 10 confirmations. If you don't do this, your vote won't count.

It's a shame ... I have many Asiacoin in my wallet ... I never POS .... When I saw my adresse in the blockchain there was only 55k asiacoin ( I have more than 220k ) . I will do re send all my coin and now my wallet show good 220k but I must waiting again 14 days ... I'm so disapointed . I'm bagholer . I mined this coin , I support this coin ><

Be patient friend! We will carry this coin to the stratosphere! Wink

I know , but I would like to do 100% on 220k :B and now I must waiting again 14 days Sad

I understand that it can be frustrating but that's how Bitcoin protocol works (change coins are going into a new block, therefore their coin-age resets). Same thing happened to me personally as well.

When is the last day for 100% PoS minting?  Can someone update the schedule on the original post to show the last day for each stake period?

Cheers!

Great to see support for AC going strong.  Will donate.

It's in the code, I will update the OP as soon as I have some time.

Next change is at block 72,000 though.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AC] AsiaCoin | Back on all Exchanges | BOUNTIES! | Multipool Ready on: May 21, 2014, 09:08:54 PM
Dumb question...
If I have coin staking, as it ages it stakes at a lower APR.
If I send the coin out and back (or just back to myself), does that reset the coin age back to 0, so it starts staking at 100% APR again?
Im asking because I read somewhere that when you send a coin, it splits it into fractions and the wallet creates a hidden address with the fractions, implying that all the coins are "re-newed".

The 'change block' will have a reset coin age, so they will have to wait for 14 days to mature. That's how PoS works (even if you send them to the same address they came from, their coin age will still reset because the old block will be destroyed and a new 'change block' is generated).

The way to do it is to use multiple addresses, hold the coins you want to stake in one address (like a long-term savings account that if you withdraw money from it, the interest rate will drop). You can have a so-called 'cashing' address which you have your transactions from.

hello

sorry for being lazy could some one tell me why asia is on the rise, id like to invest

switch to the 1 week period on mintpal and you're going to see that the rise is actually a recovery.

It's been a week of downfall for 90% of altcoins regardless. Only very few are recovering though.

After this amazing work, it would be a shame for it to go back down quickly... Guys, if you have sell orders, remove them. Let's create some buy support in the high 400s and low 500s.
