People have to have made a trade though.
83  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Random 0.00001 BTC from Laxo Trade? on: September 15, 2014, 01:01:54 PM
So is this definitly nothing to worry about? I've had a couple of dust payments from this and others before and I've read from some higher members here that they're trying to track or trace your addresses or something or is this just fud?
Although it's probably a lot easier tracking addresses that your've sen btc to i don't think this would be the case as you can just track anyones address anyway.

Yes it is fud, these spam payments are used only as advertisement. Many who receives unknown payment are curious who sent it and check blockchan.info comment. If your worried about not spending this spam payment from address you dont want use anymore because you had there no unspent input anymore for long time, use coin control and just do not use the spam payment - but you should never reuse adresses if your very concerned about privacy anyway

Thanks. Still seems a bit weird they would go to all this fuss just to spam promote their site. Arent the links only available on blockchain.info? Not everyone uses that as a blockexplorer.

So you're just topping up phones? How much would it cost to get me credit for O2 UK? Can buy a decent amount like £50 if the price is good.

Please PM me your No

Why do you need my number? I want to know what the prices are first. Also can you not just send the top up code?
85  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Beware of the paypal "friends and fammily/gift" on: September 14, 2014, 12:30:45 PM
I think most people know paypal can be reversed whatever way you send it. Not only can paypal reverse the payment but you can also get your credit card company to do the same.

You're probably just going to get a load of carders and other scammers offering to buy these for you.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are some good coins to invest right now for Christmas vacation money? on: September 14, 2014, 12:21:47 PM
Make a list of altcoins that have active supporters , there delete the names of the ones that have been posted by shills and bag holders in this thread , do some research about the ones that are left and then

BUY BITCOINS

This is good advice. I think bitcoin has the highest chance of seeing a decent return on investment. Hopefully we'll get a nice price rise in the last couple of months of this year like we did last. Hoping for some big news to cause it.

Op, you've instantly made me crave one now, though I know it isn't going to look like that. Burger King burgers are much better tasting and looking than Mcdonalds though. They always look and taste terrible nowadays.

It was pretty good. I caught it on TV and have been telling people to watch it on the iplayer for a good intro. I'm really looking forward to that feature length Dark Webb documentary that is in development right now http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3312868/
92  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL]DiceBitco.in Siganture Campaign - Continued on: September 10, 2014, 03:16:31 PM
Yeh hopefully one or two new deals will arrive soon. Seems a lot have been hitting the dust and closing recently. Places are going to be like gold dust soon. The best one to join is probably Luckybit as places become available almost daily so you need to jump on that one as soon as you can.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=776975.0

There you go someone is selling a dicescript, but like above it's not as easy as simply buying a script or getting someone to build you a site. You also need a bankroll. Hope you've thought all this through.
94  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin starting to look more and more like TULIP BULBS of 1600s on: September 09, 2014, 01:51:49 PM
It's really not like Tulipmania. Completely different ideas. Might as well compare bitcoin to pogs and pokemon cards as well.

During the 1600s people were dying for these bulbs.  Flower shops started popping up everywhere just like miners today.  If the gov't ever start legalizing gambling and drugs, isn't bitcoin/ alternate coin just absolutely doomed to death

I don't get or see your point here. No, it isn't like Tuplimania. How would the government legalizing gambling or drugs 'doom bitcoin to death'? Isn't gambling already legal in most places anyway?

Not online gambling.  Online gambling is illegal/heavily regulated in most places.

Online gambling isnt where i live. What country are you in? Saudi Arabia?
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent Court docs show Silk Road and DPR were sunk by a leaky login CAPTCHA on: September 07, 2014, 02:19:52 PM
wtf is a 'pen register'?

"A pen register is an electronic device that records all numbers called from a particular telephone line. The term has come to include any device or program that performs similar functions to an original pen register, including programs monitoring Internet communications."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pen_register

Basically they monitored all the internet usage of Ulbricht for a few days, this was "judicially authorized".

"The Pen Registers did not collect the contents of any communications. They collected only routing information, such as the IP addresses being contacted using the account, router, and devices, the ports being accessed, and the MAC addresses of the devices involved.
We used the Pen Registers to track when Ulbricht was connected to the Internet and what IP addresses and ports he was connecting to. By monitoring when Ulbricht appeared to be online, and comparing it to the times when “DPR” appeared to be logged in to Silk Road (as reflected by his activity on the Silk Road discussion forum), additional evidence was collected corroborating that Ulbricht was in fact “DPR.”

More at 18 - 21 in the declaration

Isn't that circumstantial? I'm not computer whiz but how did the captchas leak information to the SR servers. Aren't captchas like an external process ie not hosted on whatever server the website uses?
96  Other / Off-topic / Re: Celeb Nudes leaked (sold for bitcoin?) on: September 07, 2014, 02:17:34 PM
r/TheFappening has been banned, where to go for new leaks, other than /b/, of course?

I wouldn't even say /b/ now. apparently they've got autofilters to prevent people sharing the leaked images because of 'copyrite' claim. No idea how they managed to copyrite the leaks.
97  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: September 07, 2014, 02:15:24 PM
paypal is only good if you are a buyer.

Very true. I feel pretty comfortable using it to buy stuff, but dread getting paid in it as I'm always dreading the fated chargeback. Will be interesting to see if paypal ever encorporates bitcoin and how they habndle it and stuff like chargebacks.

100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Falls Below $500: The Start of Another Price Decline? on: September 01, 2014, 02:36:16 PM
I wouldn't worry about it. The price rises and falls by this amount often. Nothing we can really do about it anyway.
