What is Moonbet.io?

Moonbet.io, a website launched by Decentralized Gaming Technologies NV, has become the first cryptocurrency betting platform that accepts Binance Coin, the fifth-largest coin in the world today according to Coinmarketcap.
Moonbet’s partnership with industry titan Sportradar means that players can choose from over 30 sports to bet on, with 1000s of markets both pre-match and live in-play betting.

Betting with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more

Beyond Binance Coin, players can bet with the world’s largest cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, BNB, Ethereum, Litecoin, SHIBA, DOGE and Tether, a coin directly tied to the price of the United States dollar.
Featuring a robust sportsbook and a provably fair blockchain casino that includes six games developed by their 10-person team, Moonbet is dedicated to opening up new doors for cryptocurrency betting.

Community-owned crypto casino
What truly sets Moonbet apart from other betting operators is that the platform is owned by the community members that have either purchased MBET tokens during its Initial Coin Offering *(ICO) or through the exchange Bitforex and Bitmart.

A unique model, 50% of all profits made by the platform will be distributed to the community members in an automated dividend found in the token’s smart contract.
The other 50% of profits generated will be used to further the progress of the sportsbook and casino, with funds allocated to marketing, development, administration, compliance, and other crucial elements.

Those interested in playing in the Moonbet Sportsbook & Casino can do so with BNB, SHIBA and DOGE or the aforementioned cryptocurrencies at http://www.moonbet.io

I've also been the Head of Sportsbook Operation at kwiff.com, Head of Content/Marketing for a number of affiliate marketing brands promoting Bet365, William Hill, etc. and a Director of Sponsorship Sales at the Formula 1.

Could you elaborate on your head of content/marketing for a number of affiliate marketing brands comment? It's really confusing. Were you doing affiliate marketing and promotion of Bet365, William Hill , etc or were you marketing the affiliate program itself?

I hope that the team can attached LinkedIn profile to verify if they are legit or not. The website is just showing picture and experience without a reference for it.

I'm sure there are other things than simply a linkedin profile to verify if they worked for those brands or not. I wonder if emailing someone proven to be associated with those brands and asking them about these guys or their past head of conent/marketing will do the trick.

Also, if OP is the CEO of moonbet then this would be his linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/in/jason-poprawa-9b194693 Idk how valid the experience he listed his but it is there.

And lol lots of gambling sites these days just show non hyperlinked images that nonverbally say "yeah we're licensed by curacao" or "yeah we promise we're partnered with these brands" without any proof. I'm also interested in seeing references.

This is definitely a big problem with betting companies saying they are licensed, when they are really not.

As soon as we officially receive the license (review currently underway) then we will send all relevant information to prove that we do indeed have it.

As for the LinkedIn, the profile you posted is mine. You can call kwiff HQ and I'm sure they will be happy to verify for you that I did indeed work there.

To clear it up, I was writing content including match previews, sportsbook/casino reviews, etc. to promote these brands using referral links. I also studied directly with Tom Galanis, the head of Tag Media https://tag.media/
for a certificate in iGaming Affiliate Management.

Information about the dev team can be found on the project website - https://www.moonbet.org/
Unfortunately, I haven't found any links to social media or LinkedIn, but you can find a few words about each of the team members there.

What past are you talking about because I don't understand your suggestion?
When it comes to an investment in an ICO, it is no different from any other investment in start up, the risk is always there and will always exist.
If you really want to, you can google those names and the linkedin of those people will usually come out. I mean I only tried it for the CEO of this project, didn't really feel like it would be wise to actually do it for every single one, CEO is the only important one for me.

Kid looks like a young and very hardworking person who worked in many places, but it doesn't really matter you know? Mark Zuckerberg was "a kid studying computer science at harvard", we have people like that 20+ times a year, many many kids studying there, yet only Mark managed to become 100+ billion dollar worth in all of them, I think it is not about what they did, but knowing who they are and where they are, anyone who has the most perfect CV in the world could suck, and anyone who did nothing so far could start their first thing as a great product. This is why basically the CV looks decent not bad not great but doesn't matter, we know who CEO is and that's enough for me.

Thanks for saying I look young. I'm actually 34 years old and have been in the online betting space as a professional for 10+ years! I hold a Certificate in Sportsbook Management and one in iGaming (Online Betting) Marketing from the Top Gaming Academy.

I've also been the Head of Sportsbook Operation at kwiff.com, Head of Content/Marketing for a number of affiliate marketing brands promoting Bet365, William Hill, etc. and a Director of Sponsorship Sales at the Formula 1.

So, I have been very committed to the betting industry for a number of years and have also been into the world of blockchain since 2016.

Apart from myself, we have one developer with a Masters Degree in Mobile App Design (designed the banking app for Caixa Bank, the largest bank in Spain) who is working on the Sportsbook & Casino, a lead developer that has 20+ years experience and has created applications for Nissan, and our CTO is a Project Manager at a top IT consulting firm in Spain.

We definitely have a real, experienced team where everybody plays an important role in this project.

What software will the bookmaker work on?

We are using the SportRadar/BetRadar data feeds and API (https://www.sportradar.com/) but the actual software is something developed with our partners at Lion Gaming.

We will be offering the same markets as all major bookmakers (speaking more internationally, as US bookmakers appear limited to the rest of the work) to provide our players with a full sports betting solution!

We completely understand the reservations about KYC with a new/unknown website.

We will be listing Moonbet within the next week! We have already signed the listing agreement and are just waiting for all the final details to completed before we make the announcement with the exchange.

I would suggest joining us at t.me/moonbetofficial for the announcement.
You do not have to worry about KYC requests if you do get listed and registered in a proper place. If the law requires you to ask for it, then you have to ask for it and there is nothing you can do about it. I personally do not like to give my KYC to everywhere neither, but it depends on what we are talking about, in this case if I see a place registered in a proper nation, or a place then I am feeling a lot better about it, I have seen places registered in first world nations for example, in that case it is stupid not to share your KYC for me.

Look at binance, there are very few people who do not give their KYC and they are not even properly registered somewhere, so when you get big enough everyone comes knocking on your door to get registered. Basically all I am saying is that you have to be a proper place to get KYC requirement liked instead of disliked, it is not about KYC itself, it is about where you are sharing it.

We have just teamed up with BitForex for a premium token offering. You can see all the details here:

Many people will have a concrete interest in starting a site with a casino, but the confidence is simply not there. You often see such accounts with promotions to start a casino, but too many people have been scammed. A significant setup fee is often asked. Then you will soon end up with 3,000 usd in costs, while you have not even started yet.

Absolutely, but I believe a lot of people have the dream of starting a casino like they do a restaurant: it is someting they believe will be cool, fun, and make them look good.

I have been in the iGaming industry for many years and I know about how much work it is to do so. Working 18 hour days, having to wake up for certain events to ensure the data feeds are working. I've been through two betting startups and as much as working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week may seem bad, I genuinely love it.

We have now raised over 600k and have negotiated very favourable deals with our partners, so $3000 in costs is not an issue.

Though this is crypto, I am running this exactly like any other Sportsbook and Casino that I have worked for in the past.

I may not want to be a player but probably an investor would that require me to go KYC when going to buy Moonbet coin? I do like to participate in your ICO phase however I'm afraid about the KYC since I'm not really comfortable sharing my personal information online. And I would like to ask when are you planning to list down your coin?

There are other gambling platforms that didn't get shutdown even though they did not ask for KYC to create an account but they may ask for KYC if a certain gambler is suspicious or a gamble wants to withdraw a huge amount of money. That's what most gambling platform does to avoid money laundering and other breaking rules situation. It would be only less people will gamble if the site does require KYC to create an account just to gamble as some prefer being anonymous that's all.
As crypto users, we are aware that the KYC is one part of the services such as gambling sites, exchanges, and other third parties needed to avoid money laundry. But if we can, we always avoid the gambling site which requires KYC for the members. We are happy because many gambling sites will not require KYC and I am sure that gambling sites will have many loyal members. If one gambling site asks about KYC, we can move to the other site which does not ask KYC and we do not have to worry because we will find a way to play gambling without verifying our account.

The nice thing is that we have one of the best iGaming Lawyers on our side, who will advise us on how we can optimize the user experience while still respecting the license. We will do whatever we can to make sure that players are safe, secure and can easily access the site, but also ensuring that those who have invested in the project can trust that our platform will always be in good standing.

12 days until the platform is launched, does this still want to continue the ICO program? what is said above is true. They barely agreed to launch the site and were accompanied by the ICO. most will end up not very pleasant.
Avoid KYC requests, again avoid, because obviously a lot of people don't like them. We recommend that gambling sites can be accessed easily and do not burden users with KYC rules. They don't like to give their privacy to gambling sites.

Not having KYC in a gambling site is a very good way to get shut down. I've been in the industry since 2009 and not having proper protocols for KYC and AML means that at virtually anytime, your license can be revoked or your assets can be frozen if a regulator believes you have been assisting in money laundering.

Of course it is an inconvenience and we would prefer to not include it, but these are the things that we need to live with as a licensed gaming operator.
Yet there are many gambling sites that is not implementing KYC mate.

but if that is the structure of your site then we will respect it but don't expect much response because we literally hate KYC implementation not unless there is a huge winning and then we will allow and comply.

This was also the case in the mid-2000s when all the offshore betting and poker sites came out. What happened? The Department of Homeland Security came after them for money laundering and KYC issues, freezing their assets and shutting the sites down to leave players with a loss of funds.

While of course no KYC will be more convenient for players in the short-term, it is a necessity to protect the site in the long-term and make sure that the site is not abruptly closed down by overzealous authorities.

Still not safe since IDO and IEO still prone to dump, many devs do that when IDO/IEO are booming but I don't think many people will go invest on this options since knowing how manu scams happened here for sure many investor are totally done with this. And since they are doing an ICO for sure this one will fail as ICO craze are now totally done, many are erasing it and declare it as scam.

I'm not sayinh that this is another scam but for me I will avoid any ICO and better go with NFT.
ICO, IDO or IEO are all the same , most are scam and not bringing good outcome to those who trusted their project.
so How OP can prove they are different from others that already exist and exit?

For all who plans to invest and enter this offering , best to make a deep look and make sure that you are ready for what will come because we completely give you all advice.

Maybe the least they can do if they conduct AMA or maybe show some any valid points which can convince people to trust their platform but since the ICO craze is totally over maybe for running this plan they will fail to reach their target since as I say for sure many of us are aware about the reputation of the ICO,IDO or IEO. Also we really need to do a deep look before investing since we cannot retrieve back our money if we get scam and it really hurt to exchange our hard earned money for a token with no value so we need to do extra careful when investing.

We are conducting an AMA tonight at 6pm EST at https://twitch.tv/moonbetofficial for those interested to learn more about the project.

I completely understand the reservations about the project, but I believe those who do choose to invest will be pleasantly surprised once we launch a full Sportsbook, Casino and eSports betting solution that is licensed and offers them 50% profit sharing.

ICO? Really? Do you still think this is 2017 or something op? The name of your site sounds shady too. The truth is that almost all crypto investors including me lost interest in ICOs after the 2017 rally since majority ended up as scams or failures.

You should have simply advertised your site in this forum without the ICO stuff in my opinion. All the best op!
Looks like the OP find good from  your concern here but still they will push ICO like what 2017 does .. Lets Pray for their success and also pray for the possible Victim of scamming if this one runs like how 2017 scammers does.
Though i am not pointing them as scam but of course possibilities is always there.

it's been the same way actually even with the new projects today it's still ICO that they need to fund their project, they just name it differently today like a private token sale in which only 20% of the tokens are being sent out to the investors. it's just very risky now than it was in 2017 where every ico is funded and listed on the market.

i really don't see this project as different from other dividends casino. been an investor of bethash for a while but casino tokens are not allowed to be listed anymore on exchanges.

We have already received 7 contract offers to list on exchanges (some notable ones in the top 30 on CMC), as we are not a traditional 'casino' coin. Since our token is meant for holders and not to be used in the casino (as this would defeat the purpose of holding the coins to receive the profits), we can certainly be listed on exchanges.

One major different from 95% of the crypto casinos is that we offer a full Sportsbook solution. This means betting on 30+ sports with live betting, 1000s of markets, and basically everything that major players like Bet365 have.
98  Economy / Gambling / Re: Moonbet - Become the Owner of a Crypto Sportsbook & Casino on: July 31, 2021, 10:22:27 PM
I have a few questions:

1. What is the softcap (is there at all)?
2. What is the hardcap?
3. What is the total supply of tokens?
4. If 50% of the profits go to token holders and the other 50% go to "development, marketing, and operations of the platform." Then how do an eight-person team make money?

Great questions!

1) The soft cap is $500,000 and we are getting quite close. We are at $366,000 and now with the increased marketing and crypto market heating up, we are seeing about $10k per day being raised.

2) The hard cap is $1.2 million

3) The total supply is 1,000,000,000,000 however 200,000,000,000 (20%) are reserved for the future decentralization phases. The distribution of the BUSD profits will only account for the tokens in circulation

4) We have allocated 10% of the tokens to our team for exactly this reason. Plus, part of the other 50% of the profit for the operations of the platform does include team FTE costs (a basic salary for any full-time team members). We also have allocated some ICO funds for the team salaries to ensure that everybody has a liveable wage so we can all focus 100% on the project.
99  Economy / Gambling / Re: Moonbet - Become the Owner of a Crypto Sportsbook & Casino on: July 31, 2021, 10:15:02 PM
Moonbet sold out their Phase 1 Pre-Sale by raising $295,000 USD, with the ICO just having moved into Phase 2.

What is your contract address? How to trace the transaction made by you/made to you? Are you not publishing it on the blockchain? If you are not publish on the blockchain then there is no way to trace and in this case the community is in high risk for you.

All the transactions from the ICO are viewable at https://bscscan.com/token/0x44220eeb754ade4aa72b83d587c2c959d34560cf

Unlike most ICOs, we actually built our system to provide people with the tokens within 10 minutes of purchasing. So, we did not simply just take payments, we actually facilitated the transfer of tokens in real-time.
100  Economy / Gambling / Re: Moonbet - Become the Owner of a Crypto Sportsbook & Casino on: July 30, 2021, 05:31:39 PM
I wonder how many people still invest in ICOs. I thought the ICO market was pretty much dead by the end of 2019, and yet here we are in the middle of 2021 Cheesy
The idea of giving stakes in a casino is pretty good, but I'm not sure how investors can make sure they aren't deceived, and they get their fair share of profits. Or is it somehow done automatically, like via smart contracts or something?
I'll wait till the coin's listed on exchanges because it's always safer this way, but I just want to know more. If a person buys your tokens on some exchange, how can this person get the payouts in BUSD? How are you going to monitor all and will there be conditions, such as hodling for 6 months or something?
Good luck!

I know the ICO culture is quite dead (especially compared to 2017/18), but we also ran into some potential legal issues with KYC. So, rather than risking it and going onto a DEX exchange, we decided to play it safe.

In order to make sure investors know we are running everything completely legitimately, we will be 100% transparent to show the amount of Gross Gaming Revenue generated by the platform. Then, it will be divided into 50% with half going towards profit distribution and the other half going into the marketing, operations, and administration of the platform.

As for the distribution, holders will receive the BUSD by holding the tokens in an approved wallet that can accept the BUSD airdrops. We will of course provide all the information once the platform goes live and the airdrops begin.

In order to ensure that people do not simply buy/dump MBET tokens to receive the profit sharing, the BUSD distribution will be regular yet random. This means that nobody will know exactly when they will receive the tokens, encouraging people to hold long-term. There will be no minimum needed to hold to receive the BUSD, which is what we believe will drive the demand for the token once people see how others are being rewarded.

We will have some news about exchange listings next week!
