81  Economy / Economics / Re: Spain confiscates 0.03% of all bank deposits. on: July 11, 2014, 07:53:35 PM
Moves like these is why people trust the decentralized virtual currency, and this move begs for spanish people to unify for bitcoins Smiley
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can you request payment like a Bill? on: July 11, 2014, 05:19:10 PM
There is an option in the wallet to Request payment. when you click it it creates a popup with my wallet address and amount but i'm trying to figure out how to send it to any specified BTC Address.  There must be a way.

Thats just a way to generate a QR code for someone else. Youd have to send the picture. The other person can scan it and has your address as well as the amount to pay.

Sending a payment request to a certain address makes no sense IMHO. Do you really care from which of the (e.g.) 243 addresses the other person controlls come from? Most people that use a bitcoin wallet do not even know in advance which address will be the one the coins come from.

as shorena mentioned, it makes no sense from where the payment comes from, as BTC addresses can be generated very easily and most people tend to have multiple addresses for the sake of security.

But, if you would still like to request payment, i think coinbase android/iPhone app has a feature where you can request payment. it is not recurring though. and you will have to send the other person a screenshot of your QR code for them to scan it. too much time consumed here Sad

I think that you should lower the ammount to reach to get more signups!
Otherways the project seems good but the bonus is very hard to withdraw...
Thank you. I will forward this suggestion to the decision makers and will let them decide.

This feedback is much appreciated Smiley

Withdraw and Deposit option should add bitcoin

Thank you for the feedback.
We are currently working on integrating the functionality with our website, to allow global users to access the service.

This is after all about bitcoin so without Bitcoin deposit and withdraw are just not sticking to the topic ...

We realized it after our first few signups, and started working on it ASAP. developers informed us, by the end of next week, we should have BTC deposits and withdrawals. fingers crossed. Smiley

I just registered and found out i cant trade without id verify ?

This is bitcoin and its all about annonymous ...
As i already mentioned earlier, we are working on a few things that we realized were needed after the initial signups. I am sure the superiors and developers are working on something to address this concern as well.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: July 10, 2014, 11:08:04 PM
I have not read all the posts (IT'S GREATER THAN 10 PAGES!!!! Tongue), but, upon scanning your website, this very much looks like the Seattle Project, where users would allocate fractions of the CPU cycles and HDD storage space to the community. I really liked the Seattle Project, but unfortunately my city did not have anything similar(last time i checked.)

But Storj seems to take it a step ahead, with privacy and decentralization. Like it. Gonna get signed up on the website.

Be aware that (at least in some jurisdictions) it is illegal not to accept local (government issued) fiat currecy in trades.

Which jurisdictions? Is this US included in this jurisdiction? I've seen a few soap shops that only accept BTC.
I believe there was a news report on this, where employers were paying in bitcoins and one of the courts ruled that salaries will have to be paid in FIAT only. I do not know the country name and google ain't helping tonight. But it was definitely not US.

As far as trades are concerned, there are some loopholes because of which these BTC exchanges exist.

I believe we should make a list of shops and cities where bitcoins are accepted, will be lengthy and tiresome, but will definitely help spread the word, and if the BTC only stores get visited more often, might as well help persuade their neighbors to join in.

We are aware about our clause issue, and we are working to resolve it.
Meanwhile, if you guys could let us know on what would want instead, will help us define the clauses faster.

So if I make $500 after 120 days I can withdraw all of it?

your total balance will have to exceed $500 for 90 days consecutively. Only then you would be able to withdraw.
Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this.

also, as adrian-x mentioned, this will really help people who have fallen prey to scams. .

The last reference I made to kickstarter in this thread turned out to be a scam, this one looks more credible, and offers a back end solution.

Its a scary world out there. considering the number of scams out there, people would at times suspect the legitimacy of a completely genuine project. But lets hope this project indeed does what it says it will. and i will most certainly be interested in getting my hands on its tech. Smiley

So hard to pick a good coins / coin services sometimes. The people want to offer you everything. But soon a coin will come that does, and everyone will be scared of it!

Yes, then you will hear phrases like, "too good to be true" and write-off the whole thing.

Give  them discounts for using bitcoins would be my suggestion.

i would be very much interested in a list of vendors giving discounts for using BTC Smiley

You cant withdraw in 90 days anyway .

and 90 day is a long time Smiley in between you don know what happen
We do understand BTC trading is a very volatile market, and your concern is legit.
With that being said, I cannot promise anything on this yet, as this would be something that will have to decided by the superiors.
I certainly hope to answer your concerns as you seek. But, not right now. Smiley

This looks interesting but it looks like it could be very difficult to get your $$ out even if you are above the $500 threshold as it looks like the withdrawl requests are going to be done with a manual process that could take 4 biz days (provided that there are no staff issues).  And when you do get it processed there is a $25 wire fee?

At least if I am speculating on coins on the other exchanges at worst I can transfer my coins to somewhere I can turn them into Fiat if I need to.  Maybe if you put in coin transfers (above your stated limits) this would be a more appealing offer.

That said I am going to sign up and see what happens Smiley

We are currently working on adding the feature to deposit and withdraw BTC, so i believe that may answer your concern a little.
We will be very glad to see you trade on our service.

This looks like a very good product.
The potential are unlimited.
This system has the potential to replace the existing card system.

and with news that MasterCard recently filed for a patent related for bitcoin incorporation into its existing payment system, this product will be something to lookout for.

also, as adrian-x mentioned, this will really help people who have fallen prey to scams.

I would really love to take a try at this device, and maybe even try the NFC HTML5 api to push the potential of this gadget.

There was an error with log-in page which  has since been fixed.

There are still working in progress for some aspects of the website, which should not affect the signup process.

This post is a very good initiative. we should let more people know about these kind of projects to gather their trust.

98  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project Bitcoin Island - Bali - Indonesia on: July 01, 2014, 09:59:24 PM
This indeed seems like a very good idea,  and an initiative.
Considering the tourist popularity of Bali, and the advantages of Bitcoin, people will save a whole lot of money, which would normally be lost to paying conversion fees.

All this, and reports of a Jersey(european island) all set to become a first state to accept bitcoins as a means of currency, is very very promising for the community.

I would encourage leaders from every state to take up a project to introduce BTC to local businesses.

100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When Will Bitcoin Reach $1000?? on: July 01, 2014, 08:10:49 PM
maybe by the end of the year
Think this is going to happen sooner. Not because I am holding and just hoping i will be rich at the end of the year, but the price is going up and it is not difficult for the price to go up to 1000$. We are now going to new borders and we are living in a very interesting time for BTC. Hope to see what threat will be opened after 10 years Cheesy Guess!
BR
Gondel

I will not be to optimistic for the price to reach $1000 by year end. As more people are becoming aware of BTC and its volatility. If the prices do reach $1000,  it will be for a very short while, as like you, most people are holding on to their bitcoins. and given the fact the Feds just recently had completed the auction of the silk road bitcoins, they will also come into play around the time when the prices soar. So my prediction, it will peak at $1000, triggering a selling frenzy, and then settle to somewhere near $850, and pick up from there. I may be too bold, but i figure $600 to be the new base line for BTC in the near future.
