81  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fed holds on rate. on: February 01, 2024, 11:37:31 PM

Big boys know this and haven't poured the coals to ETF's yet, they anticipate better buying opportunities ahead.

Point of correction, there are no big boys anywhere in this situation, it is only an assumption, they do not know better than you do and what is official is always kept so, so that it will not be an issue for the officials since it is illegal if leaked, and could cause market manipulations.

Um. I guess BlackRock, Fidelity, ARK et al are not big?

They know what's up. The tail wags the dog.
82  Economy / Speculation / Fed holds on rate. on: January 31, 2024, 10:05:48 PM
The markets heated up in anticipation of a rate cut but now the "free money" pipe isn't running (yet).

Big boys know this and haven't poured the coals to ETF's yet, they anticipate better buying opportunities ahead.

I am willing to speculate that we will go mostly sideways until the next fed which will be sorta around the (bullshit) halving time.

Tech companies are having troubles and bitcoin closely mimics them.

Buy Buy Buy in my idiot Cramer voice.

I drink and post too sometimes.

I kinda snorted when the poster mention Rubbles.

Poster do some reading on BRICS and the possible decoupling on the petro dollar.

Good, I see article after article about people refusing to return to work and getting canned. Good.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: Interesting Friday 1/26 Behavior, let's see happens 1/29 on: January 30, 2024, 01:38:51 AM
I wish I had the time to learn glassnode.
86  Economy / Speculation / Interesting Friday 1/26 Behavior, let's see happens 1/29 on: January 28, 2024, 06:48:33 PM
Price rising for the weekend. Small dip at 5pm EST, Friday sell off for the after hours. It's going to interesting to see if the price swings will start mimicking those of the markets. Will the price go down when the markets open? When the big boys show up at work will they start selling again to move money into ETFs?

Friday afternoon showed a nice inflow ishares/bitwise samples I looked at. But ishares is a not even 2 billion yet vs 800 billion btc. Markets/ETF's (USA) are business hours and BTC is 24/7/365 worldwide.

I dunno. wadda you think?
87  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has never pass ATH before halving but it has always dip don't panic. on: January 24, 2024, 01:06:42 PM
If y'all  thought it was going to skyrocket the day of and shortly after ETF approval you are a fool. Big money moves slow.

Since most here walk around with blinders on not looking at anything else but, let me help you.

Here is some homework kiddo's.

-First week of trading BTC ETF's exceed that of silver! That's pretty f'n epic. That's winning but y'all focused on the number and not the big picture.

The day of ETF's started trading silver AND gold took a hit before the price fixers stepped in.

Look at the blip on jan 11th on both gold and silver and you can see it in the gold/silver ratio charts.

https://www.apmex.com/gold-price

There is alot of money is in flight and I bet some is coming our way.

Relax, read the news. Beware of echo chambers like here and social media, especially the youtube idiots. This dip has ZERO to do with the upcoming halving, nothing. Since the halving is emotional and not technical it's a great time to take peoples money which I am happy to do, suckers.

Kill your need for immediate gratification and the whining that ensues.

88  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has never pass ATH before halving but it has always dip don't panic. on: January 24, 2024, 04:57:53 AM
This isn't a crash, this has nothing to do with the halving. Read the news people.

Lot's of people are selling and redistributing. This money will come back in via ETF, but slowly. Big boys move slow.
89  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is Marriage a contract or a union? on: January 23, 2024, 11:27:12 PM
I see Marriage as a union, where you complete your partner and vice versa.

To fall in love and to love with all your senses and from the deep bottom of your heart is priceless.

Marriage is great but it all depends on your partner, did you chose him/her well?

The answer may seem simple, but it's not.
Exactly , better choose the right one and not just the random person that we fell inlove but what about them? do they love us back as much as we do?
because sometimes we  thought this is the one but suddenly we don't and ending us either separated or not treating each others right when time passed by.
I really like the idea of a traditional old world value marriage.

However here in the US that idea is largely dead and as a male it's highly biased against the man.

It's over here, don't do it.
so it is Union as well?

Well what it is these days is a woman checks off the boxes then on to the next best thing. She can be the worst human being in the world and it doesn't matter, you are going to be paying for her and your kids you won't see for a long time. Sure I am jaded but I find greater than 50%  of my friends in this boat. She gets a paycheck and the kids.
90  Economy / Speculation / Y'all need to relax, ya gonna have a heart attack on: January 23, 2024, 05:18:14 PM
Target (BTC) fixation runs deep in the BTC circles like no other markets or pressures exist.

The day ETF were approved both Gold and Silver took a hit, Grayscale is leaking billions and shitcoins are taking a hit across the board.

BTC ETF's exceeded silver ETF's in the first week, that's big.

Mt Gox is slated to drop 200k BTC soon.

This isn't a correction, this is a redistribution of assets. Money is being queued up to enter the ETF market. The big boys don't move fast they will sit back with their money (AMMO) and enter the fight when things start to shake out. Why buy now when it's dropping? Let it keep going then enter the market softly as not to overheat it and trigger fomo.

The big boys have boards and oversight to contend with. They don't buy in a day it could take months for their money to move. Lot's of due diligence has to be exercised.

I suspect some were hopped up on youtube and reddit shills (big names but almost always wrong) and now they didn't get the X factor they were "promised" they had to bail and make rent.

My speculation?: Big smart money hasn't even walked in the locker room yet to get suited up. Halving is about 3 months away with an anticipated peek in about 9 months. What is halving? Great time to take peoples money and secure profits. Bitcoin has one foot in it's big boy pants now, money will start to flow in dwarfing the halving bull run mania. I don't have a number, it would be bullshit but I am pretty sure it's going to up and to the right this time next year.

Speculation #2: Elections, wars and shenanigans. Russia could launch a nuke, China could invade Taiwan. Israel could nuke Tehran (wish they would),Pakistan could nuke Iran. However this is way more possible under our current limp dick president.  But with Trump looking fairly eminent to be re elected president it probably won't happen. With canidates bowing out the markets set records know that good times are coming back for everyone.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prepare for the Next Dip before the Real Bull. on: January 23, 2024, 02:25:05 AM
It's not a correction.

Grayscale clients are selling massive amounts to move to ETF's. It takes time, the BTC is moving around a shell game. I suspect allot of people are liquidating BTC to move to ETF's. Just wait a few minutes. BTC ETF surpassed Silver ETF's in under a week.
92  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the best piece of advice you've ever received? on: January 23, 2024, 02:21:08 AM
My dad: If it flys, f***s or foats, lease it.

I told my son "never get married or have kids, enjoy YOUR life"
93  Other / Off-topic / Re: when I stop paying taxes, our friendship fall apart on: January 23, 2024, 02:17:48 AM
Well, if you don't have any income you don't pay taxes or child support that's the way it is.

If she isn't working you pay more child support. What's fair is fair.

My ex kept my children from me on my own time, the system will do NOTHING for a father. So I stopped paying and boom, imagine that. I see my kids.
94  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your expectations for the few weeks after the halving period? on: January 20, 2024, 08:32:16 PM
Nothing really. Halving ferver seems to be an emotional response and a good way to milk FOMO's of their lunch money.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin EFTs are bad for Bitcoin as a decentralized digital currency. on: January 20, 2024, 04:36:45 PM
Remember "Not your keys, not your coins"?  Bitcoin was intended as a decentralized digital currency.

Futures ETFs and spot ETFs are as far from Bitcoin's intended purpose as you can get and they serve to make banks more money while giving them more control.

Does anyone else see what is happening here?  The silence is deafening!

Any investor that buy ETF are only scum bags that are scared to be their own banks, scared to protect their own keys because they are not man enough to protect it. What is that hard in buying a hardware wallet and push some bitcoin in it? If you can have thousands to buy some bitcoin, I don't see why it's now a difficult thing to buy a hardware wallet that is less than 200 dollars, they rather watch Blackrock goes down and later ask for bailout of bankruptcy than hold the bitcoin by their hands.

To think that they will not ever have the feeling of holding a bitcoin and how to even transacts with it kills the vibe of bitcoin with this ETF stuff but on a second thought, you can't force people to do what they don't want to, they should enjoy their mimic bitcoin and will enjoy the native bitcoin.

The ignorance runs strong with this one. Very very strong. I suspect you are very young and inexperienced.

Example: Expose one's ROTH IRA to an ETF, pay no taxes on it when I retire and withdraw. Expose my 401K to ETF and my employer matches 100% pre tax. I pay tax when I withdraw but being retired I would be in a much lower tax bracket.

Trading: I can move in and out of an ETF without incurring a fee and much much faster than the network.

Corps: Having a wallet is a giant PIA, the big boys don't do it (Saylor or Musk). ETF is far more palatable. Wait until the sovereign funds poor in.

ETF is now where bitcoin just got it's big boy pants and that's a great thing.

Drawbacks: I can only trade during trading hours, but the big boys don't give a shit that's the way it's always been.

Not ETF but kinda related: I can hold BTC in Fidelity which I trust 1000X more than any exchange and I don't incur any on and off ramp fee's and they handle the tax paperwork perfectly.

conclusion on personal not corp: Is this the only thing? of course not, never hold everything in one place! NEVER! Sure hold your hardware wallet! Keep some on an exchange for ease, I do buy things sometimes as my HW wallet is inbound only, never been outbound. And if you have a substantial amount of BTC, keep a few HW wallets on different technologies.

There ya go youngsta.

IMHO, when the big boys are playing in BTC, the US government is less likely to do stupid shit. Tail wags the dog. Just like Gensler got his whooped into approving ETF's.

Bitcoin ETF is already a PART of my overall bitcoin portfolio. I keep some in hot wallet, cold wallet and some on my exchange. To have all your bitcoin eggs in one place / technology is just plane stupid.

Anywho, Bitcoin ETF is an EXCELLENT add to my Roth IRA! Why? Because what I put in there I won't pay taxes on when I withdraw for retirement in 13 ish years or so!

My 401k choices are very limited unfortunately, wish I could take advantage of that generous matching.

Just think of all the sovereign funds, pensions and corporations that can add BTC to their portfolio that keeps the boards happy. Think MicroStrategy.

Everyone talks about BTC is for everyone, okay, it's for everyone. stop whining.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about ETF's? Could they help reduce crypto scam rate on: January 15, 2024, 04:08:17 AM
Fraud via ETF will be nil, no more or less than any other ETF.

Holding keys for most businesses is frightening to impossible.

I love it now I can easily hold BTC in my IRA with ease. My 401k plan has very limited options, I wish it did  because the matching would be insane for my long term goals. I may be losing my job so that will change my tax bracket I will cash out and punch into my IRA, no tax in ten years when I retire. perfect
