Hey Guys!

Want to share some of my thoughts and ideas after betatesting for you to consider, develop or say it is dumb )))

1. There should be the possibility to drop a fraction of geo, at least min 0,1. If the price of GeoCoin is $20-50 (ATH of GEOCoin was 35USD by the way) the usage of GeoCoin will be automatically reduced (you won’t be able to drop a few USD of GeoCoin). Another solution is to make a split of current GeoCoins, say 1:10-1:100
2. GeoCoins you drop are not visible when zoom out, it doesn’t sum into the blue/yellow/pink summary-circles.
3. The map looks very dark, it would be nice to have a possibility to switch between different color schemes, at least dark/light, and also to have a satellite photo map like in Google Maps (not sure if the MapBox has such features)
4. Navigation, like in GPS-navigation apps when it makes a route to the selected point, to a GeoCoin in our case 
5. NorthUp mode to the selected coin (the selected coin is always on the North)
6. Highlighting of a circle round the coin when you select it. The circle that indicates the area where you need to get in to collect it. It could be very useful during my betatesting when I was not sure if I could get a coin in the pound close to the shore but not enough close 
7. The possibility to set up the radius of such circle when you drop a coin. Different variations of how close you need to get to the coin to collect it could bring up more interesting user cases.
8. Passworded coins. When you try to collect such a coin, it asks you for a password to be collected.
9. Coin with the timer. Coin automatically returns to the original owner after the pre-specified time ends (and nobody took his chance to collect it).
10. The pattern of coins. You can collect the 2`nd coin only after you collected the 1’st one, the 3’d coin only after you collected the 2’nd coin etc. There can be interesting user cases, some kind of stagy quests with a specified path to pass and places to visit. This option can be released using Passworded coins (if each coin has the geo coordinates and the password of the next coin).

P.S. The project is very promising and I’m very glad to see it develops and enjoy participating in the betatesting! I think the only real risk the project can face – another project with the same gist and possible usage, but with many developers and PR/Marketing team onboard.  Such clone project can outdo GeoCoin and thus make GeoCoin obsolete.
Thanks for the feedback In-Sider!  I replied within the #geo channel on the Ubiq Discord!

We're very excited to get started on some new functionality that was recently pitched to us from some community members helping out with the 2nd phase of beta testing.  We are investigating the ability to include some custom collection messages to the user who grabs a $GEO off the map.  This will allow for some exciting bonuses to be included with $GEO drops such as Amazon gift cards and others.  Keep the ideas coming folks!

We hope everyone enjoyed the Easter long weekend with family and friends.  We are happy to process the next batch of PoL magnets.  2,000 more $GEO have just been dropped on the map!

Taking this opportunity I will tell you that: The geolocation game "Let's Hunt Monsters" was released in China, combining the mechanics of "Pokémon GO" and "Cryptokitties". It has already become the most downloaded free to play game in the Chinese iOS Store, ahead of "PUBG" and "Honor of Kings".
Thanks for the heads up Nazim.  I personally think this is a good sign as more projects will enter the space of "spatial gaming".  As with cryptocurrency, there is more then just Bitcoin.  I feel there is plenty of room for growth and expansion of geospatial themed crypto projects and feel it only draws more attention to the space and helps bring more mass adoption.  Let's keep it GEOing!

Satoshi's Treasure: There is a real scavenger hunt with $1,000,000 worth of BTC to be claimed by the winner.  It could be fun to put together a team and combine efforts in a chance to claim the prize.  Anyone interested head over to the Ubiq Community Discord #geo channel.

weifa, I'm interested what made you choose to transfer geo mainnet to ubiq blockhain? since ethereum blockchain is more famous it could be more rational to move to ethereum. are there any technical advantages for geo project as to moving to ubiq blockchain? maybe you described it earlier but I think I missed it

https://twitter.com/geo_coin/status/1074754398075506688

I think a major reason was reliability and the team he was able to work with would be some reasons.  Eth can be a bit difficult to navigate development wise with coming changes to POS. I would assume that and the smaller DAG size with Ubiq which will allow for smaller miners to contribute for a longer time frame is another reason, this also reduces bloat on the chain.  I would venture a guess that the monetary policy was a big factor too.   Just speculation on my part till Weifa pops in..

Hope some of that helps.  Ubiq is like a Honda imo, super relaible, durable and plenty of leg room for TXs
Yes I agree with Crypt0ptimus, reliability and security were the main driving forces that made us decide on the Ubiq blockchain.  Follow the links within the tweet above for more in depth information.

The Ubiq developers were very helpful during the onboarding process and assisting us with the swap.  We are very happy to be part of the Ubiq Network and I also feel that many tokens can get lost in the dilution of tokens found on the Ethereum Network.

As requested, we were able to implement a directional vector arrow into our GPS location for collect mode.  This new vector arrow will help users navigate their way to the nearest $GEO using their choice of map orientation option.  Please try it out and let us know your thoughts!

We have fine tuned this new map orientation option to be more responsive based on direct feedback from our community of beta testers.  An additional 1,300+ GEO have been dropped onto the map for collection.  Please try out the new collection mode option and let us know what you think!

Just added another feature based on direct request from some beta testers.  There is now a new map orientation option available under your user settings.  Users can now select a "Track Up" option which will follow your movements automatically while tracking down $GEO in the wild.

PoL was expected to launch by Q3/Q4 of 2018 and then again postponed, I understand this but at this point I begin to disbelieve in GEO for the following reasons:

1. No whitepaper yet
2. No documentation / preview of PoL
3. No estimated launch date -- not really a reason, but still good to clarify this

We don't even know if the PoL is it really going to be an algorithm or just a centralized web interface with a distributed supply owned by creators of GEO.
According to your latest updates (with some beta tests completed) I assume you are very close to give us an estimated date of launch and if that is the case it would be highly appreciated to clear the first two doubts I've mentioned above.
Looking forward your reply weifa, have a good day!
Thanks for your questions, I'm happy to provide some answers as best as I can.

We have never had a GeoCoin whitepaper and I don't plan to create one at this time.  In terms of a preview for the PoL system, we have been running our 2nd phase of beta testing since early this year and the results and feedback coming back are great!  The Proof of Location process is not an algorithm, it is more a user driven experience where you drop a magnet to attract GEO to nearby green spaces (parks and rec areas that should hopefully be safe for people to collect GEO at).  Since GEO is now an ERC20 token on the Ubiq Network, it can no longer be mined using traditional GPU POW mining.  The Proof of Location process allows users to 'mine' the remaining supply of GEO by turning on their smartphone GPS and navigating to the location.  This will allow us to continue to increase our Circulating Supply and it acts as the Coin Supply Inflation in a sense.  Your last question is in regards to an estimated launch date.  As I've mentioned in the past, we have partnered up with the KryptoTech.io team for their assistance with our wallet backend.  I'm currently trying to work with them to figure out a more solid timeline, but the last I had heard they were estimating it could be complete within a matter of a few months.  I realized this has been said before as I originally had wanted to release it by the end of 2018, but due to their availability it has been postponed.

The GeoCoin project is an ongoing project and we're pretty excited about all the progress and improvements we've been making recently with the assistance of our beta testers.  I personally can't wait until everything is fully up and running and will do whatever it takes to get us there.  Let's keep it GEOing!
