81  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be aware of Santa Bitcoin, stay ahead. on: December 24, 2022, 05:04:05 PM
Those so-called giveaways happen all the time, not just during the holidays.

Btw don't feel bad cashing out (a little) just to treat yourself or family.

True, it happens outside of holiday seasons, but the OP was simply trying to draw the attention of people who are easily enticed by cheap giveaways. In this case, it is a Christmas season, and they can use this festive celebration as a trap to lure them as a form of giveaways they are giving to their loyal users or new users who are joining them. Whatever the case may be, we should not be drawn to such things because scammers always find a way to make people believe in them. One must be extra cautious not to fall into their traps. It is said that for the wise, a word is enough, so let us all be wise all of the time.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found a Bitcoin restaurant in my neighborhood on: December 23, 2022, 10:28:57 PM
While reading, I assumed you were going to pay your fees in bitcoin, but that was not the case. Since they don't accept bitcoin as payment and are already advertising it, perhaps you should put them through before leaving your hometown after the holidays; it will be your own contribution to the bitcoin mass adoption we're all aiming for. I won't blame them for advertising a wallet that has few negative reviews from people because they're unaware of it, but now teach them what they need to know before advertising for someone and how bad the effect can be later on for the reputation of her business as well.
83  Other / Archival / Re: Crypto's 2022 contraction on: December 22, 2022, 10:19:51 PM
These are some of the challenges that a knowledgeable bitcoin enthusiast will face in order to reap the benefits of their investment later. It was difficult to remain patient throughout this process and continue to rely on bitcoin to maintain its value despite the obstacles it faces from both the masses and the government.

Indeed, 2022 was full of disappointment, which affected some people mentally, but the strong ones who were mentally prepared for the aftermath remain optimistic; those are the true market heroes. Hopefully, 2023 will be better, with fewer problems arisen than this years.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 22, 2022, 09:59:35 PM
There's nothing wrong with sharing your seed phrase with your partner. In case of loss or death, you must give your wife the seed phrase to your wallet. She may not understand what it is used for, but you can warn her not to reveal it to anyone because it contains sensitive information that could be disastrous to the family if an outsider learns about it. You can tell her to only disclose to someone trustworthy you can rely on, in case you pass away and they need access to your wealth. I see nothing wrong with that, but it still depends on how trustworthy your partner is not to reveal anything to anyone.

Having said that, Mac Allister had an impeccable world cup, and i knew that quite a lot of teams will be interested in him, Arsenal is a good option for the Argentine, i basically just hope that Brighton do not take advantage of this and put a crazy amount on him as they did when City, and eventually Chelsea wanted to buy Cucurrela. As far as strikers go for Arsenal, i heard they are also interested in Joao Felix of Athletico Madrid and a couple of others, once the window is open we'll see who gets who.

With the world Cup Mac Alister had surely his price will go up, Brighton will surely try to milk from clubs for him. He will be a good acquisition for Arsenal. My only worry is maybe he could live up to hype and play for top club. We have seen players go down hill after an excellent world Cup. Should Arsenal not get him I think Fabio Viera will add depth if given the opportunity or more playing time.

Joao Felix is not a proper center Foward I think Arsenal should be looking at PSV Gakpo and Juve Vlahovic they are both cheaper than Felix and a proper Strikers

ten hag has no other options because reportedly maguire is sick while martinez still hasn't returned to MU, so ten hag's choice to collaborate casemiro with lindelof is very appropriate.  with MU's squad which is pretty good right now, ten hag should be able to make MU get the carabao cup this time.

The experiment payed off because of the calmness of Casemiro, when Maguire was declared unwell I thought we see Scot McTomminay there since he has played there before for Scotland. We might see this similar starting line against Nottingham Forest but I major concern is how did this speak of Tuanzebe as a center seeing a Central or Defensive midfielder been slot in there with him available.
I second with you that united should go all out for the Carabao trophy since there only obstacle now might be only Newcastle and Liverpool/Manchester City. A triumph in the competition will boost morals for Ten Hag side going forward.

Marcus rashford again. I just wanna know why ten haag didn't wanna to offer him long term contract with MU. It can be seen from the performance against burnley if rashford was playing very offensive and he was making 1 goal against burnley.

It is not like Ten Hag doesn't want to offer him a long term contracts but When the manager signed for Manchester United he told the board that he will prefers the season to come to a conclusion before they give out contract extension to the players. This will give Ten Hag the chance to select players that will fit into his pattern and it is working out perfectly fine right now with the likes of Degea and Dalot having a good season already.
88  Other / Meta / Re: Who Pays Bitcointalk.org (org) Domain Fee Per Year? on: December 21, 2022, 01:36:50 PM
Today I was wondering that if I am correct than Bitcointalk was created in 2009, and mostly Satoshi was the owner and than he or his organization has been Ghosted and it's account is offline. So I was wondering that who pays Domain Name service fee per year. And it could not be free. And still how this website is running?

You just raised an important question that I had never imagined before. But, if my calculations are correct, the forum's statistics and the traffic generated by campaigns advertising here make purchasing a domain easy. Even if it costs 1BTC per year to renew the domain, I don't think it will be difficult to get a raise from management, especially since I'm sure there are employees here who are compensated for their efforts.
89  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: December 21, 2022, 01:17:34 PM
NEW TOPIC: Congratulations everyone, we made it, welcome to the Nigerian (Naija) Local baord.

I wan used this opportunity say thank you to everyone of you that contributed to the success we'll be celebrating today, the creation of the Nigerian local baord. Like play like play, I gat message wey come from theymos few days back asking for recommendations on how the Naija board go be like, After some deliberation with some members (Igehh, Charle-Tim & Mpamaegbu) and few questions answered to theymos, we decide to allow theymos freestyle the whole thing. And today we have the Nigerian local board. No subbaords were created but just the official language which is Pidgin and English.

Now the issue we need to discuss with the house before matters get out of hand is that, should threads be created for each discussion like Bitcoin discussion, Altcoin discussion, Naija Politics (we discussed all political discussion there and new topic get created as we did before on the hangout thread) or each person can start a discussion he wants the community to engage in anytime he feel like with a new topic. This also relate to other discussion as well like Music, Football discussion etc. Abeg make everyone contribute so we fit move forward. Once again congrats to everyone that made this possible by been active all this while. We made it guys.

Words can’t express how happy I’m for us to finally get a local board of our own, I must say it has been long overdue for us to already have it. Thanks to all those that pushed to make this a success. We all appreciate your efforts and promise to make this board as important and informative as other boards in the forum.

About the sub-boards, I will suggest we take it easy and deliberate very well on it. We should only create sub-boards that will have more contributions from everyone, I mean a board that will be informative and people will have discussion there to share a lot.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 21, 2022, 10:32:22 AM

The EPL has always been the most competitive and regarded league since I picked interest in football and began to follow every season of the English Premier league and this season I am very curious as to know how Arsenal will resume the seasons campaign after the break. Will they continue in shining and top class form, or will they break down and let Manchester City take the lead while they follow or go further down the pecking order?

From 2000 to 2015, the EPL was regarded the best league in the world because of its competitiveness between many teams. This earned them many TV rights and that's why they are the most watched league in the world. Compared to other league that just has competition between two clubs Premier span across six teams. but for the past 5 years i feel the competitiveness has reduce with Man City always having an edge, only Liverpool has gone toes with them the likes of Man united, Chelsea and Arsenal are having mixed period. It's a great feeling seeing Arsenal back in the champions contender spot, I hope they go ahead to win it and end Man City dominance
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 21, 2022, 10:16:34 AM
I think the manager ask him to not play or Benzema has a personal problem with France's national teammates. Benzema is currently at his peak performance, he get Ballon d'Or which is already prove to become the best football player in this year.

Honestly Benzema could play for Algeria, but Algeria has very bad performance which only make him wasting his time.

Benzema was upset that he didn't get call back when he became fit after France two world games. France Coach Deschamp has in recent years showed he prefers Giroud to Benzema. Benzema's had issues with the French national team when he got entangled in between the blackmail of his fellow compatriot Valbeuna. Valbeuna sex tape was leaked and the was advice to pay for it to be deleted by Benzema. They were accusations later that Benzema had a thing to do with the blackmail or knows the blackmailer, which lead to both players been suspended from the national team. Benzema was later found not guilty by the court and was recalled back to the national team. I think that hasn't yet settled down well with national team. Benzema last competitive tournament for France was the 2014 world cup in Brazil.

I think its too late for him to play for Algeria but I don't buy your idea it will be a waste of time because Algeria national team are great, they were the last AFCON champions prior to the last one held in Cameroon. Algeria national just had a bad run in 2022 and they failed to qualify to the world cup but that doesn't mean they are bad even Italy an European champion couldn't qualify either. Also Morocco's run at the world cup signifies no country is deemed to small for world tournament in this modern football

CBN GOVERNOR FAILED TO APPEAR BEFORE THE HOUSE OF REPS
My country people how una see this matter na. This recent news way we day here about our country trying to reduce the withdrawal limit for everyone to 20k daily and 100k weekly  don see outburst of different suggestion and opinions towards the implementation of this recent law this news don make every Nigerians so worried on how this law go take affect business and individual life for this our country.
Although maybe from their own views na to help implement a cashless policy for our country wey go try give the Nigerian naira value.
This news don make even the house of reps call and serve the cbn governor letter to appear before them, make him go explain the reason for him to implement this kind policy for our country and as the country everybody deh do anyhow, even the c.b.n governor don fail twice to appear since when dem call am and which is supposed to be so.

How una see this matter na. here

As for me, I don’t see the reason why they’ll invite the CBN Governor to appear before them after the new policy have passed a lot of recommendations and approved by the president himself. If they wanted to stop this, they should have done it before now not when it has already been implemented. He failed to appear before them twice and they can’t do anything to him for disobeying the law, this is how the country has been before now. Even if they see a reason as to why he shouldn’t implement it, It’s already late now. I just feel the house of reps are also toying with us to make us feel they’re fighting for the wants of the people which doesn’t feels so. If at all it was, a action should have been taken before now by them.
93  Other / Meta / Re: theymos! Please use the forum account on Twitter to tweet on: December 20, 2022, 04:48:14 PM
It's great to see that the forum has a Twitter account with a large number of followers. It would be ideal if the account was whitelisted in accordance with Elon Musk's new Twitter policy. In comparison to using a social media or another website, this forum is more like a social media platform where everything you need to know about bitcoin is embedded and explicitly explained here, which is why I believe the account has been inactive for a long time now. Even so, keeping the account will be beneficial because it may serve a purpose in the future. However, this forum is where the real-time updates are, and the emphasis here is more prominent than on Twitter due to many restrictions that exist there which are not found here.
94  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for feedback on my new bitcoin site! on: December 20, 2022, 02:44:40 PM
The site appears to be well-organized and well-designed. It's simple to use and very quick to access. When I looked at the cryptocurrency charts, there were only two coins displayed with little information about them. You should include more information in that area; it will be extremely beneficial to obtain real-time information from visitors visiting the site for the first time in order to entice them to return again and again. I think you did an excellent job and applaud your efforts.
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to avoid future losses in crypto on: December 20, 2022, 11:48:05 AM
Although all points have been discussed on the forum before but nonetheless thanks for the reminder.
For emergency fund I always advice new investors to have some savings in fiat, even if we detest it, we can't do away with it just yet.
Concerning diversifing into other coins I stick to bitcoin because to me other coins just follow its trend both in bearish and bullish period. Although there are other coins I might consider worth investing but they are too centralised for my liken (most especially the top 2 altcoins;ETH and  Bnb
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners kill Bitcoin, and governments are happy, boycott the CEXs on: December 20, 2022, 11:23:09 AM
Someone might have a financial emergency and these exchanges would be the best platform to convert Bitcoin to fiat. I am sure in the nearest future there would be better alternative to these exchanges and people would gladly dump their services.

I have to agree with on this one about CEX's, in some countries where crypto are banned they make it easier to buy/sell their funds. To new investors it is easier to learn. But this doesn't translate to leaving your heavy funds on it. People that do that are either earning through some of features there or one way or the other. If we could get DEX making it easier to learn and having some future trading futures we could do well it that. But overall CEX'S are just cunning to have funds on
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to properly store seed phrase during inspection? on: December 20, 2022, 11:12:03 AM
I don't buy the idea of moving seed phrase around where one is going. The weakest place to hide it is a vehicle that which we know is prone to search by inspectors. You can't predict the search even if you are law abiding. A two or more parment saves at home is better. At least a home search comes warrant.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Finally got my boss to pay me in Bitcoin on: December 19, 2022, 07:32:23 PM

Well this is my side Job but it's all I have now I also do some other job too but it has it's period, I don't know what the future holds but I am taking it one step at a time, I would really want to save the Bitcoin I get from there but in case of personal needs I would touch it, but for now am very glad he agreed to pay in Bitcoin, not many employers where I am from would agree.

Getting paid in your preferred currency (bitcoin) seems a great feeling to you so congrats. My question is are you paid in dollar equivalent of Btc or the payment is an greed Btc. My advice is since this is your only major source of income at the moment and you will need some to pay bills it will be better to set side the amount yoh wish to save every pay time and then convert the rest to either stable coins or Fiat for daily use. Although we will wish to have everything in Bitcoin but its volatility won't allow that now. Also when you have some spend able amounts in fiat it gives the freedom to hodl for long.
99  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: December 19, 2022, 05:31:32 PM
There are money handling policies in the eastern world; if you squeeze a US dollar in that manner, you will be arrested or the money will be rejected because banks do not accept or distribute dirty notes. Nigeria has far too much freedom, which makes us appear foolish.

This is one of the things we need to emulate as a country. The proclaimed Giant nation of Africa is still left behind. Our money is not valued and we as citizens are contributing to it with the way we handle and abuse the naira notes. Just see the way many celebrities spray and match the Nigeria currencies in occasions and clubs. If we want a change in the country, it has to begin from us. I hope this new cashless policy will be able to tackle and reduce the misuse of naira notes in the country.
100  Other / Meta / Re: Most users just state their opinion on a topic rather than discuss it on: December 19, 2022, 04:47:15 PM
Some people get bored discussing a specific topic in the forum, so they move from one board to another to share their thoughts. You can't blame people for contributing a little quota in a given topic because they're diverse and want to contribute everywhere. In most cases like this, only the OP follows up on replies given to his topic on what he asked about, and asks additional questions if more explanation is required.

A board where've seen more discussion to a topic posed is the technical board. Most users that discuss there are vast in knowledge in that aspect and it's their everyday work, unlike other boards that anyone with basic knowledge can share their views about a question asked. Basically, it depends on the board the question is asked and the more knowledge people have about the topic.
