81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 19, 2024, 06:27:07 AM
Very well but my question is if everyone here advices each other not to be a gambling addict then who are those gamblers that doesn't obey all this rules here in the forum and outside because basically if you ask any gambler he will tell you all the rules that guides gambling but yet they gamble out of control.

Anyways, to those who gamble alot there is only one unconscious act that pops up in the process but remains unnoticed till it begins to consume you and that is chasing losses or gambling to get back your loses as OP puts it but at the very beginning of you gambling as soon as you loss don't go back on the same strategy thinking you made one little mistake that would have resulted to your loses but gamble with the conviction that you're getting entertained.
82  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price predictions gone silence since the DIP. on: May 19, 2024, 01:00:05 AM
The promising approach about the rising of Bitcoin price seemly to have emotional influence on investors which at some points triggers market sentiments.

Who has observed that the speculations and predictions  of Bitcoin price has gone silence since the market went DIP after the halving?
At some point in the market I believe people usually gets tired of prediction because the volatility of bitcoin is now on a state of deep confusion because the price is not showing a trend yet it's just fluctuating around 60kish to 65kish price so most people don't seem it necessary to keep predicting.

Or maybe some are enjoying the profit they made when bitcoin broke it's ATH. Or maybe the market is boring to an extent that people just want to relax and enjoy what they planted long time ago

I’ll give you a prediction, 1BTC = $200,000 before the end of 2025.
Let me add to your predictions @LFC_Bitcoin. My prediction,1BTC = $120,000 before the third quarter of 2025
83  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Social media account as KYC requirement? (2) on: May 19, 2024, 12:07:20 AM
I honestly don't understand where the regulations that are emerging now in Nigeria is coming from. How does one's social media handle serve as a standard know -your- costumer policy, when we know how the rate of scams and hacks happen on social media.

What if someone's SM account get hacked and used for inappropriate behaviour in the social media does that mean the bank will have to restrict ones business initiatives with the banks as the justice of the Lagos high court said that the could use the social media handles as a mirror to know if a customer is due good enough to do business with.

I don't think this people really know the power of social media to want to link ones social media handle to legal issues that relates to the banks because some people can be brought down in a matter of days throughout social media if planned, because celebrities and influencers has more power in the social media works than a regular popular person.

Anyways our government has failed the people hence everything is been taken into consideration with out passing through the signatures of the house of assembly which is supposed to pass laws and regulations into bills.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoins to invest right now on: May 18, 2024, 11:44:10 PM
In my opinion, the best altcoins to invest in right now are ethereum and binance, because these two altcoins have a very large community and popularity in the crypto market so they have the potential to provide very high profits in the future, especially now is the right time to start investing with ETH and BNB because the prices are still very affordable.
For investment with safety net I think these two are good. But if you want to earn more profits, youll pick those lower marketcap than these two cause the upside is still more unlike these that may pump to a certain price. Like eth with its current price $3k would it be likely to do a 3x or reaches a $9k price? Well we dont know. Ut if you pick a lower mcap project there still chance to do like 5x or more.
I think your idea is very much valued over here. For maximisation of profit investing a low cap coin will be the best because it stands the chance to make 5x or more but for a coin that has gotten such position as the second most expensive coin, it might take a very long time to hit even 2x so i would even prefer some to invest in such coin for along term interests but when we talk of short term with high profit but with high risk too.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin specifically for holders.. on: May 18, 2024, 11:19:41 PM
Hey mates, how are y'all doing this good Friday? For memecoin enthusiasts, I just discovered this memecoin with the narrative of 'No more torture for holders' on the BNB chain called $HODL. Pretty good concept if you ask me. I also noticed the devs are the founders of Arbdoge, if you remember this meme from around 2023. So they may know what their doing lol.

As someone who's into memecoins, I think I'll keep an eye on this. Solid narrative, good community support, and CEX exposure too. Wanna ask though, what's that meme narrative that's got you intrigued?
I'm not a memecoiner but I believe any meme coin that has a good technological back up or support is a good project to hang on. But the big fact about meme coins are the temporary, which means they are not to be held for a long time.

Major reason why I'm not a memecoiner is because most of this meme coins are for scam purposes, someone can just come up with a plan to scam people but make them work for it in a way then the first few people will benefit then when some naive investors puts their money then they pull out the coin till it becomes valueless.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Important Questions about the Market and Alts on: May 18, 2024, 09:11:17 PM
First this is th best place you have found in the crypto world, here you will get real time advises on how to go about your trade and investments.

One major mistake you have made before now is relaying on your own knowledge about crypto to trade or hold crypto. Most of the coins or assets you hold are not known to me and for you to have been lossing in bitcoin is because you are investing in bitcoin for a short term purpose, most of the people buying bitcoin are for the purpose long term and after a 4yrs circle that bitcoin revolves and reaches a new ATH your profit is guaranteed.

No for you to start making good profit you need to start buying top altcoins to be in profit and you need to be strategic when buying. Strategic i mean is buying during dips and selling during high markets.

Additionally you need to read more threads in this board to be acquainted with basic knowledge of Altcoin trading market. I'm not an altcoiner so I can't give more than this, in subsequent time more knowledged members will give you better advises.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX planning to payback customers, small account holders on the priority list on: May 18, 2024, 08:51:52 PM
The game is real here, Sam Bankman is connected to so many influential people so all this promises to pay back the funds even with an extra as compensation is just way to get him on a platter of getting out of governments hands or to escape the consequences of this actions.

Well I see reasons why a lot of us lost hope in a centralised authority like the governmental bodies that can receive bribes and forgo the bad effects of an individuals action.

he has parents who have friends on top so that's going to be something that the judge would consider.
Your going far with that buddy! His parents are even too far. Do you realise his on of the major sponsors of the incumbent government? Joe Biden? So how then can he get rusticated for his actions when his partners are still in power.

All the struggle for him go serve in prison is being pushed by opposing party for the up coming election.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kraken considers dropping USDT in Europe ahead of new regulations on: May 18, 2024, 08:21:12 PM
It seems they have been lossing lately from the crypto dealers or buy purchasing crypto directly without having to deal with banks for the government to take they so called taxes or commission in each transactions and the MiCAs are charged with responsibility to put that into order for the EU to make profit frequently from crypto dealers.

The more the regulations, the more exchanges will begin loss interest in USDT in the Europe because they are wanting to punish people with their inhumane regulations.
89  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: A Skill or a degree on: May 18, 2024, 08:07:46 PM
I for like draw the line between skill and degree and what e really means for the job market of today. Naturally for this our environment for Nigeria we dey only see degree as certificate and not the process or what it takes to achieve the degree. While skill we see him as waiting we just learn or the practicalize for months or years then we need to use am work but big difference day between this skill and degrees something.

now make I explain, when people talk say dem dey find worker wey fit offer or do something tangible for company e no means say person wey go school no fit do am, but weytin dem dey really take about na if the person in question fit think then maje something new out if a situation, but we dey see degree as something wey person just go school collect while some people really sabi the thing wey them learn for school even with the skill wey you get you no still pass them because some of them acquired the skill in the process of acquiring certificate. Just like engineering job (construction) if person wey go school and person wey learn am as skill dey in competition you no fit win the person wey go school because e don learn short cuts to problems concerning construction wey the person wey get am as skill no sabi because e just learn him own knowledge from either one man wey him own knowledge too dey limited but for the person wey go school e pass through rigorous knowledge of different scholars before e come out.

So so what employers dey look at na problem solving mindset not practicality.
90  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: invest for Capital preservation and capital appreciation: on: May 18, 2024, 07:33:14 PM
Personally as long as I am still on the race of trying to be in the social status of rich or wealthy I wouldn't jeopardize my chance of making profit for the love of Bitcoin or any other thing. We all want to maximise bitcoin by making profit in order to achieve a status quo rich in the society, hence buying bitcoin is majorly for the sole purpose of profit making but when it appears that the profit isn't the goal any more I will keep buying bitcoin if the price keeps a stable movement at the 100kish level but if the price is at the peak I would buy for profit maximisation because at any given moment I expect the price to fall hence losses is applicable but if in a long term expectation I wouldn't border because the number of coin acquired can not change rather the value only changes hence after 4 years which is the bitcoin circle we expect the bull season and new ATH hence profit will still be maximised.

What I'm saying in essence is if for store of value only I would chose a stable coin like USDT for a short term purpose but for long term I would option for bitcoin because at the end I wouldn't loss instead profit will be the end result.
91  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: When will you start losing trust for an exchange? on: May 18, 2024, 07:07:23 PM
Let us be realistic here, is there really any need for one to trust or distrust an exchange?

Personally I don't see any reason for saying you trust or you do not trust and exchange because basically we all know that and exchange is not a wallet for storing your crypto assets or bitcoin specifically. It is just a medium that has been created to bridge the relationship between a customer and a seller, it was initially created to cope or help resolve the issues of being scammed as a result of P2P transactions with customers whom are not known except for having a direct chat on any of the medias so the exchange only comes in between these two people to help as an excrew or help people transact without any misunderstanding.

What I'm saying essence is why try to build trust or trust an exchange? When you can practically hold your crypto asset in a non-custodian wallet which gives you the power to handle all your crypto assets without anyone's intervention or decision for you. You have Electrum, Sparrow wallet, Blue wallet etc as wallet not exchange to hold you assets but you can use exchanges to sell or buy, if you have any issues you can move to another exchange without a second thought because you don't store your assets there so the trust case to me is not supposed to be a problem.
92  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: the decline in price of bitcoin on: May 18, 2024, 06:40:45 PM
Basically, anyone that is well acquainted with bitcoin knowledge will always maximize the Bitcoin dips as long as they know that bitcoin is never going to vanish for any reason the best thing to do is to make use of every opportunity that bitcoin brains during his price fall or correction as we may call it.

Most of the people who engage in selling Bitcoin for buying altcoins are usually people with low knowledge of the capability of Bitcoin or those impatient people who see altcoins as the way to turn into millionaires overnight. As long as Bitcoin is concerned it is more of a long term project or investment, so since it has to do with long term one most always have in mind that if eventually the price goes down, at the end of every price fall their is always going to be another price pump so this price pump will turn your little capital which was invested in Bitcoin into a huge profit but not in a short period of time. To expect a good profit one most wait for at least a 4 years cycle to be accomplished.

Sometime ago I came across some topic that said Bitcoin volatility is not a cause but a blessing to those who understands Bitcoin. This statements means that the price fall of Bitcoin is not for losses rather and opportunity to buy bitcoin on discount which is the over all theme of this thread. Finally I wouldn't advise anyone here because I believe a lot of us already have sufficient knowledge of what the dips mean in Bitcoin so I will say we all have the right to do whatever we choose but selling bitcoin for altcoins is not an option.
93  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Waiting go happen to our money? crypto currency dey face trouble for Nigeria. on: May 18, 2024, 06:25:51 PM
One major thing wey the Nigerian government dey do na to use cryptocurrency as excuse to their inability to do something better in the country.

If you dey follow up politics for Nigeria you go notice say the people no really get any better thing to offer Nigerians so the next step na to put blame on the masses, from my own perspective the person in charge of the regulations concerning cryptocurrency in Nigeria just the make decision we go help the government escape their their current state of inability to handle national decisions. In Nigeria today if you check very well you will notice so many inappropriate money allocation buying weapons for war etc just because they want to lose money but anyways as it stands now they can never shut down crypto in Nigeria because end in the Nigerian law it is not stated in any area that cryptocurrency is banned or illegal in the country so every other battle around it is just a distraction.

The economy is bad and the government are after crypto exchanges since this exchanges know the law they have inner people from Nigeria who understand the Nigerian law so they don't adhere to the decision or the regulations that are made in Nigeria instead they only delete Nigeria p2p or remove Naira from their exchanges so that they don't get fine for any reason. But in the same time they don't want to lose Nigerian customers who are very vibrant in the crypto industries so what they only do is remove Naira but the exchange still remains in the country. It is not the first time that Nigeria is battling crypto exchanges or anything that has to do with cryptocurrency I am not afraid of anything happening in the crypto industry against Nigeria because it is not the first time over it is now during the time of muhammadu buhari in Nigeria face a lot of crypto regulations yet it is not banned in the country so since we are using the 1999 constitution Nigeria cannot ban cryptocurrency until there is an amendment in the Nigerian constitution hence crypto has no practical issue except the imaginary issues made by some cartels that wants to loot national incomes.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is the right Name to use? on: May 18, 2024, 04:05:07 PM
Since no word existed on it's own, someone could at any time coin a word for his or her personal use and maybe eventually if it caught people's attention and it's agreed upon or accepted then it could be included in thr dictionary.

If eventually we agree to use any of the below whether bitcoin-ist or bitcoiner which is already accepted it will be added to the dictionary.

My question is, between Bitcoin-er and Bitcoin-ist, which one sound better?
I definitely will pick bitcoiner but we all have different perspectives or views of everything so some could choose Bitcoin-ist which is also good.

Another question is, what can we call the study of Bitcoin?  Huh
I would like to suggest something different that nobody has suggested here which is; The study of bitcoin should be called Bitcoinology and someone who studied Bitcoinology should be called Bitcoinologist  Cool
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swap crypto or sell first then buy? on: May 18, 2024, 10:07:39 AM
Although OP it's up to you to decide which action to take but I would suggest you don't loss every thing at once buy swapping to the new Altcoin.

Finding a good project isn't easy so if you see an alt that is doing well correctly and you wish to take profit then what you have to do is keep a certain amount of that coin back sell only what you thing is necessary then you can use the profit to invest in the new Altcoin you wish to invest in.

This means that you will be maximising your profit by not lossing the first coin and even if the new Altcoin don't perform very well you wouldn't be in a deep loss as you would have been if you swapped directly.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: May 18, 2024, 09:59:24 AM
Every investment holds a level of risk, it’s up to you to do your own research, due diligence & risk assessment as to what you want to invest in & how much capital you wish to allocate into them. Altcoins carry a risk of course, some more so than others.

Apparently every thing in life is risky, whether one decide to try or not they are already taking a risk of losing if they don't try so the only option is to keep taking the risk.

But in the cost of taking a risk, it's best to make a level or research that could help in reducing the rate of risk involved, a good risk management plan and research can cut down the cost of losses which is the best advised I have ever come across in this board.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance launches Notcoin (NOT) on launchpool. on: May 18, 2024, 09:52:14 AM
It did arrive back to my bot wallet instantly and then I got the the option to send it to my onchain wallet. I have done that but it took about 8 hours to get credited to my wallet. I am not going to send it anywhere and for now as I am going to wait for another Bitcoin price spike that should encourage nits price a bit more to what it is now.
Mine was sent to cex. Not sure why it took you 8hrs if semding on onchain wallet but took lile 5mins to credit on cex. Maybe too much congestion on ton network thats why its too long to process. Anyway goodluck and hope notcoin could reach some crazy valuation in the future. Many earned for free and definitely will do good when bull run hits.
Congratulations to everybody that participated in the notcoin, airdrop, they're all smiling to the exchanges, to grab their rewards, a well deserved achievements. I'm among the few that didn't perticipate in their mining, was occupied with other things, my friend who participated diligently, got enormous rewards. I think that notcoin, has a strong community, and anybody that has the funds can buy into it, hopefully the project will go far and continue to be profitable to it's investors,
Your absolutely not along on this. I never knew about the NOT coin cause I was never interested in airdrops coins as I have had bad experience with mined coins that never got listed anywhere and some even after being listed they get dumps that will result to lost of values.

Anyways no regrets buddy, if you still want to be earn this rewards you can keep track of the new projects to be mined hence you will get favoured some day but for me I'm not too interested in them.

After listing the price of $0.035 only lasted for a short time after that it slowly fell. I wonder whether all of the listed tokens are listed? Not coin's current price is slightly higher than yesterday's lowest price and now it's at $0.00685, don't you think so?

This is one of the major reasons I don't do Altcoin or even mine them because they can get listed and after then price will drop and refuse to rise above the Ath.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tornado Cash Developer Was Convicted and jailed on: May 18, 2024, 09:42:08 AM
It's not the first time we are seeing attacks on anything that has to do with decentralisation. The governments especially US government does not like anything that is beyond there control.

They get nervous any time they hear about a decentralised crypto project, it usually seems some one is about to drag power with them and I believe that Satoshi would have been jailed if he was know just as they are failing the few people who didn't hide their identity while creating a decentralised protocol.

I think Alex made a huge mistake for showing his identity, he should have learn from Satoshi who knew how the government will react when they find something like bitcoin and disappeared till date, if Alex was hide to an extent I guess he would have escaped all these sentences.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: exchange monero for fiat on: May 18, 2024, 09:18:06 AM
Basically, since monero coin has been delisted in almost all centralised exchanges or infact has been removed from centralised exchanges you should probably use a decentralised exchange.

I'm not a promoter of any exchange but you can try the one that is advertised here in the forum like Exch. Since it's a non KYC exchange it will be good for you apparently.

You can also search for another non KYC exchange that you find comfortable that convert you monero coin into any stable coin then you can move to your favourite exchange for fiat.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When investing in Bitcoin: what to consider? on: May 17, 2024, 11:20:17 PM
I know a lot of people most have contributed enough or have mentioned what I want to say in one way or the other one consideration which must be put in place before investing in bitcoin or while investing in bitcoin.
One major thing to consider is having a good source of income. One must be well to do with his or her income to venture into bitcoin because I don't expect anyone wanting to invest in bitcoin to it in all her income into it as it discourages long term Hodling which is always a primary goal.

Another thing that must be put in place is emergency funds that could last for at least 3-6 months hence one would have nothing to do with his or her investments for a short period of time instead it will be sad to holding for a very long term hence profit will be guaranteed.

We must not forget also one of the most important thing which is security and self custody. In storing your assets a self custodian wallet is most advisable and an open source wallet like electrum.
