82  Economy / Services / Re: Revolutionary Medical Service Meets Blockchain Brilliance - A Call for Collabora on: May 28, 2024, 09:00:08 AM
Doesn't anyone fancy this project
I checked your website and saw the claim that your project cures cancer. This claim is attractive because cancer has killed many people who are close to me. But there is no proof that you can cure cancer. You didn't also give the scientific or medical processes your health center will use to eradicate breast cancer. You even promised to return people's money if they were not cured, and what is the guarantee that this will happen.

My suggestion is that you start with breast cancer patients in your location. Use these medical procedures to cure them, and the news of this innovation will spread. People from different countries will visit your organization for a cure. This is when you can share the testimonies on different platforms and ask for partnership. Nobody will trust your organization because you don't have any evidence that you offer what you claim.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did/do you handled a gambling addict story. on: May 28, 2024, 07:40:29 AM
Has anyone gambling addict shared his situation with you and how did you handled it? please come clean about it let's learn from each other.
The worst reaction you can give to an addict that needs help is to start the blame game. If you start with blaming the person for his problem, he would withdraw and never tell you anything again. The first step is to assure him that this is not the end of the world and try to convince him that he has the ability to overcome this challenges. You can give him examples of people who were suffering the same problems but ended up overcoming it. You can give him some helpful tips on how to gamble responsibly like having a budget and gambling with what he can afford to lose. But if he is suffering from an acute gambling disorder and you think he needs professional assistance, you can assist him in finding the help he needs.

Based on some people that I know, they didn't want to open about their sufferings and addictions to other people no matter how close they are to them, usually what they do is to posted it anonymously in some sites that somehow can helps them for having a relief but There are some kind of people who really likes to share what they've encountered in gambling activities so that they can share things that needs to avoid so we can't be like them.
People who hide their addiction struggles do it because of fear of stigma or religious sentiment. In some areas gamblers are seen as never-do-wells, so many of them will prefer to suffer in silence than look for help. I once had an interaction with a well-respected religious head who was an addict, and from my observation, he needs professional assistance, but he is reluctant to seek help because he is scared of losing his position.
84  Other / Meta / Re: Application for Merit Source - TheUltraElite on: May 28, 2024, 07:18:54 AM
Most of you might not be aware but the Indian section is facing an acute crisis of merit influx. Hence would like take the reins and help out my fellow country users with the rank up they rightfully deserve.
I checked out the Indian local board and saw that it has some good posters. Another observation is that it has less spam and some good topics to discuss. But the board lacks activities, and one of the reasons might be because of a lack of merit sources. Members will always go to boards where their positive inputs will be recognized and rewarded.

I also think that TheUltraElite is qualified to be a merit source based on his wealth of experience, consistency, and ability to identify meritable posts. I am sure he knows that the position he seeks to occupy requires fairness, selflessness, and dedication. I wish him and the Indian community the best of luck.
85  Local / India / Re: First Bitcoin ETF and now Ethereum ETF approved, what now? on: May 28, 2024, 07:02:07 AM
This is the combination that the crypto space will always remember and will be celebrated. Bitcoin ETF, Ethereum ETF and Larry Fink. These three will change the market for evere and we will be able to realised and understand  the phrase "to the moon" when Ethereum ETFs start trading in the market.
I don't think we should expect much from the proposed Ethereum ETF approval after experiencing the market reaction during the approval of Bitcoin ETF. There were predictions that Bitcoin would hit $100k immediately after the SEC approved the ETF, but the market reaction fell short of expectations. The price went high due to the media hype, and in a few weeks, price correction took place, and the market stabilized.

It is also noteworthy to indicate that it is the price of Bitcoin that controls the price movements of altcoins. If the price of Bitcoin goes high, altcoins usually experience the same and vice versa. So I doubt if the Ethereum ETF approval will have capacity to boast the crypto market. We might experience an increase in the price of ether, but like I said before, our expectations shouldn't be too high.

87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 27, 2024, 03:58:22 PM
For me I already knew from the onset that it would take just a famous name to actually being that Barcelona vibe and football that the whole world enjoyed so much. Barcelona at their peak was never a force to reckon with and now even with all the efforts of xavi, I still can't place xavi as the man for that job, coaching Barcelona is like Carrying a heavy load and burden on your hands and xavi isn't well experienced enough to handle that kind of responsibility although he actually tried his best but at the end his leaving the club was bound to happen whether he likes it or not.
These days most top clubs are coached by young and inexperienced coaches. If you look at the age bracket you will see that some of them are just thirty and above. Xavi has done all he can to manage a practically broke Barcelona. I don't think any coach will perform well when they don't have access to the players they think fit in their pattern of play. Let's see who will replace the Spanish international and the results he will produce. But I know that Xavi will not be out of job for a long time because he will be sought by many clubs.

The ideal action would be to report to the moderator and they will take relevant actions. I don't think it is worth creating a thread. But from this newbie's post history, I think those posts have been deleted, and hopefully, he will be warned or punished accordingly.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: First they ignore you: Are we (the Bitcoin/crypto users) about to win? on: May 27, 2024, 05:25:55 AM
If politicians want our vote, then we should insist that they have to commit to censorship resistance and cease all legal action against privacy tools.
Trump and other politicians who have promoted crypto want the votes of crypto users and also funding from crypto firms. Sadly majority of crypto users don't care about privacy because their interest is mainly how to benefit from the industry. People just want to invest in the sector and make a profit; they don't care about privacy. Most of them are okay with ETFs, centralized exchanges, and so on. The government has been attacking exchanges in my country, which has made buying and selling crypto difficult. I am sure that they will get all the support during elections if they begin to allow the operation of these centralized exchanges.

The big firms that will support these politicians financially are owners of these censorship-promoting firms. The population of crypto users who are against censorship is small, which means that their voices will not be heard. The crypto space is moving towards centralization, and only a few people know the danger of this move.

94  Other / Politics & Society / Re: All in my head.. on: May 26, 2024, 01:24:22 PM
I am curious.

Since Black rock and Greyscale among others are very powerful in the financial world, are they powerless in politics? Because I believe they will benefit even more if someone who supports crypto to the core is elected as the new president of the United States.
A crypto-friendly president might make policies that will favor these companies. But there are still some powerful lawmakers who are anti-crypto. These lawmakers could also propose laws that might undermine crypt growth or development.

Quote
I can't help it think that if these people also have power in politics somehow, any crypto hater will be gone if they want them gone, I believe these people are responsible for the forceful apprivement of the ETFs, now Ethereum ETH is also a success.

With Biden and Warren hating on crypto, these two will be too powerless if many powerful companies want them out of power over crypto.
These powerful corporations sponsor elections of these politicians so that they can support them when they get into power. Biden might not have been a supporter of crypto, but his administration approved the Spot ETF after years of disapproval. Trump is unpredictable; he is a businessman who supports policies that favour his business interests. He might be more friendly to the crypto space if he or his business has invested heavily in the industry.
95  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 26, 2024, 12:42:06 PM
I feel so bother and that is why I decided to ask this question.

We keep talking about gambling addiction and how bad it is to become addicted, does it mean that addicted gamblers lose money all the time? Do you means those guys doesn't win anything at all? Can they not be lucky to win jackpots?

On this board, we are always referring addiction as a terrible thing but does it mean that those addicted gamblers doesn't win money, are they only bounded to losses upon losses?
Gambling addicts might have more chances to win big since they gamble more. However, it shouldn't be an excuse to gamble more than you can afford to lose. Gambling is practically a game of luck, so these people also win, and some also win big. But the problem with them is that even when they win big, they still gamble off the money. This is the reason why many gamblers who win big become broke after some time. This is because instead of investing the money, it will still go back to betting. It is noteworthy to include that gambling addiction is not a terrible condition but a behavioral disorder that can be handled if it is given the right approach.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the limits and common sense of bet? on: May 26, 2024, 12:16:25 PM
If there is nothing to ensure that whosoever loses in a bet pays, then you can't really call it a bet, because the loser may end up not paying or decide not to do what they said that they would do.

Just as you deposit your money into a casino and stake it, with the casino taking custody of the money until you get the outcome of the bet, that is the same way friends must find a way to escrow the money staked amongst themselves, before going into a bet with one another.
Even if both parties didn't stake any money, maybe because it was not available at that time, if there is a sort of agreement that is either written or has witnesses, I could be called a bet. In my location, people can bet with some part of their earnings, and they will be under obligation to redeem these bets. But this kind of betting could lead to disagreement or even fights since the funds were not escrowed.

Have you ever made a bet that led to an embarrassing situation or do you know someone who has?
I can't remember engaging in this kind of bet but I can remember that my elder brother won such a bet. He was asked by his rich friend, to show his private parts to some ladies, and he would win a large sum of money. I was shocked that my brother did it perfectly and won the bet. It was those days when there was no smartphone or internet, so it didn't matter that much.

98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 25, 2024, 06:16:41 PM
If Mbappe still has a strong enough desire to win the Champions League, of course he has to look at the team that often enters the Champions League and also often wins the Champions League so it wouldn't be wrong if he targeted Real Madrid to move and play there next season. But if it weren't for Real Madrid, it would be very worrying if Mbappe would suffer the same fate as now or when he defended PSG like now, where until this season he still hasn't been able to taste the sweetness of the Champions League trophy.
Real Madrid has also suffered from a performance decline. There are some years they failed to win the Champions League. So one cannot say if Mbappe moves to Madrid he would win the UCL. Players should not just look for clubs that they think will give them trophies but should consider going to clubs where they will be comfortable with the coach, management, and fans.

Most people never predicted that Borussia Dortmund would make it to the finals, and if they were lucky, they could win the trophy. Some players left clubs that were highly respected by other clubs because they wanted to win the UCL, but they were disappointed. Players like Harry Kane left Tottenham, where he was a demigod because he wanted to win the prestigious trophy, but he has not won it to date.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Day streaming as gambler experience on: May 25, 2024, 05:48:25 PM
Lately, I have started day streaming as a sponsored gambler on one of the casinos I use to be a tester there, I chose one of the known platforms to start my stream, bought the gadgets I need even though Unfortunately I live in a country where the internet speed is limited, the quality of my stream isn’t as good as other popular streamers, however, I have got much support from the community and viewers, had fun and good slot hits.
For now my experience is pretty good for now, but I certainly need some advices from you to upgrade my channel, community, and how to grow and to the next step.
You would have more people visit your channel if you produced quality videos. So I suggest you invest more in equipment and also upgrade your skills. You also need to be creative and innovative so that your audience will not be bored. Ensure you add varieties or spices to your streaming episode so that it will be entertaining. You could also promote your platform through diverse means you can.

Do you think it is a bad thing to do, promoting gambling?
It depends on your belief or perception of the activity. Some persons might not engage in such because the content can be viewed by underaged gamblers, which is not ideal. Some people might also think that it will give rise to gambling addiction. But I also suggest that you use your platform to discourage underage gambling and gambling addiction.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting bitcoin to fiat without problems on: May 25, 2024, 05:20:44 PM
Hello,friends
The question is more for those who once converted a lot of bitcoins into fiat to their bank accounts
How did you do it so that the tax authorities and the bank manager would not question where the money came from?
The thing is that many years ago i bought my bitcoins from a person in cash and he transferred them to me in my presence
How can i make sure that this money is transferred to my bank card without any problems?

-Regards
It will mainly depend on the crypto laws of your country. Some countries have laws that mandate you to state the source of your income and also pay tax from it. Other countries may not ask where the funds come from but you need to pay tax for it. While other nations are tax-free when it comes to income from crypto. In my country, the government will be asked for the source of the money if it is above $10,000. So dividing the money into lesser funds while exchanging it will make you escape such scrutiny.

When it comes to tax, it will depend on the platform you use to exchange your Bitcoin. If you use a well-established centralized exchange, you may be subjected to tax because they will report your transactions to the government. But if you use a decentralized exchange or through physical P2P like when you bought it, you may avoid tax. But if you are legally mandated to pay tax, there is no need to avoid it. Taxes are an important source of revenue for the government, and without them, basic amenities might not be provided or maintained.
