I don't anymore and I never cared for beer, but when I did drink, I drank Margaritas. A few of those and I'd be drunk. Yager is great as well.

I love my Note 3! I sexified it with Themer Beta and a custom ROM. I have a nice white UAG cover on it for added sexiness. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Instead of transaction fees going to pay miners, its actually possible to instead store some of those fees in a fund on the network, which can be payed out to long term Bitcoin holders.
This is what bter.com does for their deposits. There is no reason why you couldnt do this on a blockchain as well.
If only we didnt have to pay miners for their costly task of confirming blocks - if only there was a more efficient way to do it.
If only miners didn't have to pay $10,000 for units that will never ROI. If only people would stop complaining about having to pay 6 pennies per transaction. If only people would realize that when the block rewards end, that mining fees are the incentive for miners to continue mining. Come on, man. I don't know if you don't really understand how this works or if you're just being a money grubby, but it's a bit nuts to say that we should stop paying miners the little bit they do get from helping to keep the entire blockchain secure and functioning.

Lightlord is usually VERY late on his payments, but at least they come and account for all of the posts made while you wait. Sometimes he gives bonuses as well, so I've decided to keep running his ads.

Let's hope this payment comes soon. 5% is starting to look a bit short, but as long as we get all of the new posts counted up that we've made after the end of the pay period, I'm cool with that.

I'm writing an article for CCN on how you can start using Bitcoin. As this is meant to help new people get started in the Bitcoin community, I'd like to hear what you would like to know about this topic. Please post your questions in this thread and I'll work to answer your questions in my guide. The link to my article will be posted here once it's been published. Thanks for your help!

It's possible, but it can be a bit of a pain if you've never done it before. It's the way that the official binaries are built. On the plus side, it's very well documented here. If you're starting with an existing Ubuntu system, you can skip down to "Setting up Debian for gitian building". This particular section needs a few changes for Ubuntu (it was originally written for Debian 7.4). Specifically, the apt-get line should read: sudo apt-get install apt-cacher-ng git python-vm-builder ruby1.9.1 qemu-utils debootstrap lxc
Don't run the "adduser debian sudo" line. The "set up LXC and the rest with the following, which is a complex jumble of settings and workarounds" section is partly unnecessary, and it should instead look like this for Ubuntu: # the version of lxc-start in Ubuntu needs to run as root, so make sure # that the build script can execute it without providing a password echo "%sudo ALL=NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/lxc-start" > /etc/sudoers.d/gitian-lxc # make sure that USE_LXC is always set when logging in, # and configure LXC IP addresses echo 'export USE_LXC=1' >> ~/.profile echo 'LXC_GUEST_IP=10.0.3.5' >> ~/.profile echo 'GITIAN_HOST_IP=10.0.3.1' >> ~/.profile echo 'LXC_BRIDGE=lxcbr0' >> ~/.profile
The section which talks about manually installing python-vm-builder can be ignored. The rest of this document should work on Ubuntu. One important note: if you're running this on a fully updated Ubuntu 14.04 system, it won't work due to a bug (see here). I think it should work on most previous releases of Ubuntu, or on an unupdated version of 14.04 (but not 14.04.1), but I'm not certain of this.... Awesome! Thank you very much. I'm going to switch to 12.04 instead of 14.04.1 as most of the documentation is built for that anyway.

I'd like to build the Bitcoin deamon for Linux, Windows, and OSX all at the same time, or at least all from Ubuntu Linux in some way. I'm a web developer, not a software developer, so if this isn't possible, please let me know.

First he says he'll pay by the 31st, then he says on the 1st that he'll give us an update within 48 hours, now after the 48 hour wait for him to do something fairly remedial, he's still piddling around. This Legendary donator is about to get bombed with bad rep.

KNC hasn't yet finished shipping their $13,000 Neptunes These guys are card-carrying thieves. They used that $13,000 to build their data center while their customers got nothing. Still no Neptune delivery. All the while, they promised not to mine over 5% of what they sold to customers. On the day they announced the opening of this new Cloud Mining service, the promise not to mine over 5% was removed from the FAQ page of their website. Fucking Swedish Scum. No less. Now they hash at about 5% of the entire network - that is ALL the mining equipment EVERYONE made. Liars, cheaters and thieves. Wow... You're right. They did.

KNC hasn't yet finished shipping their $13,000 Neptunes, yet now they're offering 3 tiers of cloud hosting, including 3TH/s for less than $1,000 per month. (1/13 the cost of the Neptunes) Unlike the still shipping Neptunes, you don't have to pay for shipping or power costs. Please discuss. It is too bad that people paid $13,000 for the KNC Neptune. It will mine around 10 BTC, which is worth less than half of that now. BTW, even KNC's price of $1.79 assumes a pretty optimistic prediction for the rise in the difficulty. I wouldn't pay more than $1.50 per GH/s. I'm not sure how you get 10BTC, but monthly you'll get a smidgen over 1.65BTC.

I looked at ya profile and seen your job as a CNN journalist and was jealous, if its true then that makes my job seem boring. Must be interesting, i didn't really look into your work much yet but tell us, What's the most interesting job you have worked on? What places have you been for work? When did you get into bitcoin? Don't take that 777 shit serious i always argue with anyone that constantly complains, lightlord is alway late and always will be, i knew that before i joined.
What's the most interesting job you have worked on? What places have you been for work?Aside from CCN, I've run a computer repair and custom PC shop named HSE. I'd have to say my most interesting job would be one of those or being a freelance web developer for over a decade. You can see my professional profile on LinkedIn. When did you get into bitcoin?I was informed of Bitcoin's existence, but i didn't think it was worth the effort to get into at the time. A couple years later, I looked Bitcoin up once again and this time it was booming. If I'd only invested when I first hear of it, I could have made a considerable profit.

there has been a fuss around the fact that many think its not him writing the "im not dorian nakamoto" any news on that ?
also, do you think nsa has the ability to know who is satoshi nakamoto if nsa really wanted to know it ?
The NSA IS Satoshi Nakamoto. If not, then it's the CIA. I find it VERY hard to imagine that the governments would just say, "Oh, you want a currency we can't control? Sure, we'll make it legal for you to use it. We don't care about our power." They built it and made it look like someone else did it. It's the One World Currency.

Just this morning bitcoin dropped $25 I think, what is the biggest drop you experienced?
$25 is really nothing, everyone who experienced a real crash could agree with this. Try over $700 from the peak of $1,200. After the Mt. Gox scandal, the price dropped by half, then it sank a bit further, but now it's hanging around $500 - $600 recently. $25 is a fair amount, but it's nothing compared to what Bitcoin has endured in the past.

I do it because it helps to increase the network security. It just feels right.

where is the lightlord??
is he pay the enrolling today??
Lets hope so because if he don't pay soon then i'll have to argue with earthgiver again, always fun but getting old. Isn't it funny that the people that don't seem to get paid are always the ones that bitch the most.
