81  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reason people are so adamant to invest in Bitcoin on: June 07, 2024, 01:21:19 PM
Na true say some people still de doubt di legitimacy of Bitcoin reach today, dis sets of people still de reason everything wey de for internet say na scam, and na so dem go still de pesimistic and beta things go de pass dem by. Aldo as e be now for Bitcoin matter, more people de get awareness everyday say na genuine digital cash and a store of value, compared to wen Satoshi, first create am, even me sef follow call am scam, say na Ponzi scheme. You no fit to take di rate wey people take de skeptical about Bitcoin, years back and compare am to now, di awareness and adoption don increase geometrically.

Recently wey Notcoin give airdrop reward to people, di thing don make plenty other people to understand say crypto matter no be play play thing, say e get people wey de make genuine money for inside cryptocurrency. And di thing don follow increase Bitcoin adoption, unto say more people don know say no be scam e be.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the role of home/away matches? on: June 07, 2024, 11:12:40 AM
I think that a team that is playing at home has more familiarity with the pitch and they will want to give their very best, do everything possible to win in front of their home fans because they would be the majority spectators in the stadium. This factor would be an edge over the visiting team, even if it's a minor factor, it has to be put into consideration when placing a bet, although in the end what counts is the better and more tactical team that wins the match. So I'll say home advantage is a secondary factor when considering whether it's a home or away team that'll win a match.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting altcoin profits into Bitcoin? on: June 07, 2024, 08:05:47 AM
Is it best to take my altcoin profits in the next 6-12 months at the bull run peak and then buy Bitcoin in 2026 during the next bear market?

So you can wait from now till 2026 before investing on bitcoin, maybe before then all your assets on other altcoins could have vanished away on losses and you may not be left with any profit again to use in making bitcoin investment, why not do that now, take the profits and invest in bitcoin, we are still on the post halving market pump, which means if you can buy now, you have higher chances of making profits till we reach to a new all time high of above $100,000 and by the year 2026, you could have achieved what you're meant to started with already.

In the crypto market Bitcoin, is the most reputable and trusted cryptocurrency, meaning that it's a store of value, even when it's price dips, we're sure that it will always pump again and reach new ATH, but these can not be said about altcoins, their prices can dip and never recover again, and your investment funds will vanish. Seeing that we're still in the early stage of bull run, with strong speculations that Bitcoin price will reach $150k or even surpass it in the peak of bull season, I think that now is still a good time to buy and hodl Bitcoin. I'd rather reinvest some of my ROI of Bitcoin, into altcoins, to cash in some profits in the alt season, then continue Bitcoin DCA method into the bear run.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fun activity but it has some potential to be profitable sometimes on: June 07, 2024, 06:51:15 AM
Winning is when you cash it out and enjoy it.
You are not wrong. Winning is not when someone win a bet but when they cash out the money and spend it on something. I have several winning but I hardly cash out because most of the money I won I later lost it. They are small amount of money which I can not even think about at all. But it is good to know that gambling is for fun but I do not see it as a potential means of making profit at time ares. This is what some people will think and use high amount of money to gamble. When they lose is when they will know that this is not true most of the time.
When you collect your winnings and spend it, that is when I consider it to be a complete win, like what is said in economics, that production is not complete until it gets to the final consumers. So I believe that until a win in gambling is spent on another item other than gambling, then it becomes a true win, otherwise the gambler can still lose their win if they gamble with it. Gamblers should take profits and enjoy it because there are more loses in gambling than winnings, we shouldn't put our hopes on something that depends on luck to win and to get rich, it should be for fun whether win or lose, that is why it's better to gamble with the amount that you can afford to loose
85  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How can I identify a scammer using Bitcoin or crypto to scammer people on: June 06, 2024, 02:15:55 PM
Di easiest way to avoid scams for social media, na to get di mindset say nothing be free for social media. So when somebody wey you no know begin to de tell you say make you click on a site and invest small money and within a small time you go get plenty profit, dat na red flag say na scam. And wetin scammers de take catch people na greed, wen dem tell people say dem go benefit plenty money for dem scam projects, na so many people go lose dem sense of reasoning, until dem loose money finish.

Scams de plenty for di crypto space, many altcoins wey developers de launch na scam, dem go hype di token say na di next best thing after Bitcoin, make you de careful because na red flag say na scam. Ponzi plenty for many projects dem wey de for di crypto market, so investors suppose wiseup and carry out research first before dem go buy, odawise make dem de focus on Bitcoin and top altcoins.
86  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: June 06, 2024, 10:57:55 AM
I'm back in this energetic thread again, although I don't make comments here everyday, but I do follow up on the discussions. And thanks to DirtyKeyboard, I always get notifications on the progress of our bushups.

I updated my last pushups countdown here about 6 days ago, and I've only pushed for 3 days within the 6 days and I have a reason, I observed that after the days exercise I always feel very dizzy, everything will be spining like fan in my eyes. I don't know if it's because I combine the 10 sets pushups with 10 sets squatting, maybe my energy can't carry it, so I decided to be taking one full day's break for now. My wife is advising me to see a doctor, although apart from this severe dizziness, I'm not feeling sick in any way, I don't know if it's a sign of something serious to see the doctor as she advised. Is anyone in this pushups community experiencing this dizziness too?

My total pushups for 10 sets in 3 days, 62, 67, 60 total 189 + 625 = 814. 100k,Kelward,18,814,2024-6-6

87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone take gambling as a source of income to he/she life? on: June 06, 2024, 09:01:50 AM
Successful gamblers are the gamblers that make money from real business and not from gambling.
Specifically these so-called successful gambler which you have described are those who invest in the casino's bankroll.  They do not play slots, poker, roulette and expect a big win. They are more of investors than gamblers. They give the casino money to run it's operations and pay winners. Therefore when the casino makes money they also make money. This is gambling business serving as a source of income and not the activity in itself.
Someone can argue that nobody can make a successful career in gambling and they'll say that it is only irresponsible people that will take gambling as their only source of income because the probability of loses is far greater than winnings. But I agree with your analysis that there are people who can earn from gambling as a source of income, and they are the casinos and bet companies owners, including those that invests in reputable gambling establishments.

Because gambling is a lucrative industry where they make more money than what they pay out,  the owners and investors can make it their sole sources of income, but it's very unfavorable for the gamblers that bet their money to make it a sole source of income.
88  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As newbies we should know the significant risk in trading on: June 06, 2024, 07:05:54 AM
The facts about crypto trading is that it's hard and risky, and any newbie that wants to venture into it without first acknowledging this facts might end up in disappointments and loses. I've seen influencers on social media, hyping crypto trading like it's a get rich quick scheme, they'll exergerate about how you can stay in the comfort of your home and be making money everyday and ignorant people will believe these lies.

I agree with experienced members on this thread that newbies in cryptocurrency should avoid trading, they should focus on diligently learning about it first, from online courses and materials, it's also important to have an experienced trader to guide them. There are technicalities and fundamental analysis to learn and understand first before starting, so that they can minimize loses when they start to trade.
89  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is getting addicted to gambling right or wrong? on: June 06, 2024, 05:33:37 AM
Addiction in anything is wrong, whether it's in gambling or in any other activities that we engage in, it simply means that the addicted person is not in control of their decisions. A gambling addict is financially dangerous to himself and his family and friends, because his lack of control can make him to use anything that belongs to him and his loved ones within his reach to convert to cash and gamble. Addicted gamblers needs counseling from professionals and loved ones so that they will understand the implications of their harmful habits, and if they must gamble, they should do so with the amount that they can afford to loose.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Australia's first Bitcoin ETF just opened for trading on: June 05, 2024, 02:41:12 PM
Monochrome Asset Management just launched Australia's first Bitcoin ETF, named Monochrome Bitcoin ETF (IBTC).

This is a new development and we expect to see it make some significant impact on bitcoin price this month, whereas there have been many speculations already concerning the bitcoin market price of crossing $73,000 down and close to $80,000 and with these, we also expect to see more of participations in Australia for increased business activities and bitcoin adoption in boosting their own economy.
I observed that Bitcoin price as of today is approximately $70k, and I don't know whether the slight price increase is as a result of the news of the Australian ETF approval, because it has been a while since we saw Bitcoin price to to be above $69k. Anyway the latest ETF is a plus for the adoption of Bitcoin, on individual investors level and on institutional levels, more people and companies are holding it through ETFs and in none custodial wallets. Although I don't think that this Australian ETF will have as much impact on Bitcoin price as the US ETF did, but it can be an added advantage to increase the demand of Bitcoin, which will increase it's price to boost the bull run.
91  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin investment helps in better funds management. on: June 05, 2024, 11:43:02 AM
Bitcoin investment de help investors wey de very serious to hodl for long term, so dem go de very prudent for di way wey dem de take spend money. 92  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling is a fatal mistake on: June 05, 2024, 10:54:03 AM
The subject of your thread suggests  a different thing from the content, you generalized gambling as a fatal mistake in the subject, then you personalized it to an individual gambler in the content of the thread.

Your gambling senior brother is definitely an irresponsible gambler because he puts gambling first before his financial responsibilities to his family. He's clearly a gambling addict that needs profession help and emotional support from his loved ones to help him overcome his addiction problems, they shouldn't abandon him because of his addictive gambling, otherwise he can degenerate and become mentally unstable. Undisciplined people are not supposed to be gamblers otherwise they will be controlled by greed and emotions to gamble amounts that they can not afford to loose.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you really want from gambling? on: June 05, 2024, 05:38:06 AM
Initially when I started to gamble a bit, it was to get lucky and hopefully win big that'll change my fortune, but then I realized that gambling wasn't a get rich quick scheme. Now I just gamble for the thrill of it, take a little risk with the amount that I can afford to loose, and try not to worry much if I lose a bet, and if it happens that I win, I'll be more thrilled and that is it. I've learned not to take gambling too seriously a Wink ;)s a none professional gambler, I just engage in it as a pass time to have fun, not too serious about winnings because it doesn't happen often.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is bitcoin future roles in Finance? on: June 04, 2024, 02:27:00 PM
Considering how bitcoin might shape the future of finance, it’s potentially impact on traditional banking systems and regulatory challenges it’s may face
Bitcoin doesn't have any inter connected role as banks so it not going to Shape the financial landscape in the now or in the future,  bitcoin role is simple, bitcoin is an alternative to fiat currency and also an assets which have long term value,  bitcoin asset role plays significant duty mote than bitcoin currency roles because not everyone accepts bitcoin only a few scanty shoos accepts bitcoin for payments of goods and services,  but when you talk about bitcoin as an asset, there you have huge community of investors and bitcoin holders.

There's no interconnection role between Bitcoin and banks, because it's a decentralized digital cash while fiat currencies are centralized, therefore their functions are different. Central banks controls their fiat currencies while Bitcoin doesn't have any central office that controls it, it gives it's holders privacy and freedom to carry out p2p transactions without any third party interferences. The aim of Bitcoin creation is not to eliminate fiat currencies or banks, but to be an alternative currency for payments and also for those that seeks privacy in their transaction

Bitcoin has made the use of Blockchain technology to become popular, perhaps banks can adopt it as a trial in the future.
95  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: June 04, 2024, 11:31:48 AM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.
In my understanding the reason why the rich wins more in gambling than the poor is quite simple, because they bet more. What a poor person can bet in a whole year will be what a rich person will bet in a single game, so assuming that a rich person and poor person bets the same thing on a game, you can never compere the amounts of money that each of them can win. So because the rich have higher chances of winning more, that is probably why they will gamble more than the poor, also I believe loses will not affect them much because they have too much money to spare.

Don't forget that the rich also loses more money in gambling than the poor because one lose is greater than many loses of the poor, so the equation is balanced that way. The higher the amount of money that you gamble is the greater your chances is at winning a higher amount of money ,vice versa.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that you trust most on: June 04, 2024, 09:51:05 AM
My investment investment now is only in Bitcoin but might be diversify or extend my investment to another projects but not now. The altcoins are still under my watchlist. And I will invest when altcoins market is interesting me to invest as for now they are not. Let me focus on Bitcoin for some period and when the altcoins move upward to the stage that is good to invest and I have interest to invest then I can do that.
Ethereum as others have said it would have been the good altcoin to invest but it is not doing well for now.

Also, I see your second option which is Ethereum as moving around a circle, as Bitcoin and Ethereum will always be moving in almost the same way. They will earn almost the same multiples of income for you or make you lose in that same magnitude as well. This is why I have Bitcoin in my arsenal and avoided Ethereum, but only invest in altcoins that do not have many similarities to Bitcoin when it comes to the way they behave during their selling and buying times. Although, I trade Bitcoin and Ethereum all the time on the futures market, but on investing them, I am so careful not to waste my time while my money is being wasted with them when other altcoins are seriously performing well. What a waste would that be.
I was also all about Bitcoin, investment alone when I first entered into the crypto space, this is because I was cautioned about the risks of scams in altcoins. But now that I have increased my crypto knowledge, I can make my own research and invest in profitable altcoins because as an investor I should be profit oriented, and it's not too profitable for all my funds to be in one cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is undoubtedly the most reputable and trusted cryptocurrency, but there are other cryptos that have also built reputation and trust in the crypto market, which will make investing in them a good business decisions. Despite what Ethereum, is at the moment, it remains a very trusted crypto coin.

The altcoins that I trust most is Ethereum, at the top, BNB Solana and Shiba Inu, I choose them because they're still relevant in the crypto market and I believe that they have potentials to be bullish in the alt season. Then there are other numerous projects in the market that can give profit on the short term, but investors needs to understand that investing in most of them are gambles, so DYOR.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: June 04, 2024, 07:10:42 AM

My curiosity led me closer to them I was interacting with one of them and at same time observing what they are doing , one thing I observed was that they stake with huge amount and they don’t give you change even when your money requires change instead you will use it and bet for another round.

So at this point I decided to bring it here to know or see different views from different intellects here on why do some people hide just to gamble or if it is the best way to gamble ?.
I have a couple of reasons why I think that the friends were hiding to gamble, it could be that it is illegal in your country, they're underaged gamblers, they needed a private place to gamble that nobody will disturb them or they're a criminal gang, these are some reasons that I can think of. Apart from these reasons, we have people who love to gamble but they will condemn it in the open, they are the sets of hypocrites who will hide to gamble, perhaps in areas where they feel like nobody knows them.

We have a lot of hypocrites who don't practice what they preach, in the open they will condemn alcohol, womanizing , gambling and many other things, but they will hide and engage in those things that they condemn, believing that people that knows them will not catch them.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons from 50 Cent's Adoption of Bitcoin for Album Sales 10 Years Ago on: June 03, 2024, 03:51:13 PM
I think that 50 cent, took a risk 10 years ago when he accepted Bitcoin, that hasn't gained much reputation then as payment for his album, we're saying that he did the right thing today because the price has increased over many 1000x since then. If Bitcoin, didn't live up to expectations and probably died before now like most of the shitcoins that never made it, we wouldn't be talking about it now.

Now that Bitcoin, has proven that it's a store of value, I wonder why some people are still skeptical about it today, instead of adopting it, buy, hodl and become very rich in the next 10 years. If 50 cent, is still holding his Bitcoin, till today, even if it's a part of it, he'll surely be worth a lot more in his assets today.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you understand entertainment? on: June 03, 2024, 12:08:30 PM
Entertainment in gambling is a relative term to me, what entertains one gambling can be different from what entertains another gambling, and for some gamblers it can be for survival, meaning that there's no entertainment in it for them. I gamble for the thrill of taking small risks and it gives me entertainment, in the of the day it won't matter much whether I win or lose because I gambling with the amount that I can afford to loose. There are some gamblers whom the casinos can be like there own amusement parks and that's how they get entertained. There are people who take gambling as a job, and I doubt that it's entertainment for them, they're in it to make money to survive, and they only feel happy when they win, their entertainment might be when they're giving themselves treats after they win.
100  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Invest wisely on: June 03, 2024, 08:14:21 AM
A lot of crypto projects de for social media, wey dem de hype say dem get di potentials to make you overnight millionaire, person wey no get crypto experience go rush go buy, in di end e fit to be say na scam project im go invest im money. So I believe say di most important thing for this crypto industry na make person no rush enter, make dem first ask questions from crypto experienced people, find better crypto sites and carry out research before dem begin to invest dem money.

Di best cryptocurrency na Bitcoin, no question about dat one, na store of value and di most reputable crypto coin, but newbies suppose understand say no be get rich quick scheme, like many altcoins wey de scam people, na long term project wey be say di longer wey you hodl am, di more di value and price go de increase. Apart from Bitcoin, we get other top altcoins like Ethereum, Solana and BNB wey dem don gain reputation for di crypto market, dem too na wise crypto investment options dem be. Even wen dem prices de dip, make di investors no worry because dem get di potentials to surge and reach new ATH, unlike shitcoins wey no fit to rise again wen dem dump.
