81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any gamblers with top analytical skills from whom beginners can learn? on: August 22, 2024, 04:42:29 AM
Personally I don't believe gambling should be taken so seriously like a course to be learned, rather it's possible and more logical to gain experience in some games that require analysis over time . However it's also possible to grab a few tips from responsible and successful gamblers over time to help improve your gambling strategy and skills. Another thing to take into consideration to is to make sure you also master good gambling habits over time.
I think being able to master certain analysis and strategies in gambling is a huge reason why many gamblers too prefer games that require analysis to games that are based fully on predictions.

  • Updating our software's also makes us safe from attacks from software's applications where they gain access through that and steals information
  • Updating our antivirus also is necessary so that they were update in the latest threats
Op I understand that you are trying to explain the reason for software updates but you are not sending the correct message over to members here.
Firstly let me start by explaining why updates are even possible in the first place. Now all softwares, scripts or code, whether written by AI or by Human has vulnerabilitys and also little bug issues and even back doors.

After launch of a software or script, the creators often back test and debug the script or codes of the software in search of all these venerabilities. Now once a considerable amount has been noticed, they create a patch file to fix those script , errors or bugs.
It's these scripts that are released as updates from time to time.
Using an old version without update can be risky except the script or software is open source, and you the user is able to fix those bugs yourself.

That is to say that software updates don't make you safe rather they Only make you safer in the sense that they should have lesser vulnerabilities and bugs.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck: a dominant factor in gambling then skill. on: August 21, 2024, 11:23:59 PM
Fact is gambling depends on luck no matter how much we try to put it. Luck is a very important factor even for a game to be regarded as a gambling activity in addition to the fact that staking should be involved. Anyways this is not to say that it is not possible to become skillful in a particular game. although gambling activities require luck , overtime gamblers can become good at certain games and gambling activities hence increasing their chances of winning.
However experience still depends on the kind of game or gambling activities as things like sports predictions require more of luck than experience.

88  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gold vs Silver on: August 20, 2024, 04:32:43 PM
Global silver reserves amounted to a total of 610,000 metric tons in 2023 while The World Gold Council estimates that all the gold ever mined, and that is accounted for, totalled 190,040 metric tons in 2019. If you compare prices  per gram then gold is expensive than silver. People would love to hold gold instead of silver because gold is rare and many big companies hold gold with them.

note I rounded numbers below

so gold is 2400 and silver is 30 an 80 to 1 ratio in value

and silver  is 600 tons to 200 tons a 3 to 1 ratio in weight.

so  the question is why is gold over priced or why is silver underpriced.

logically silver should be ⅓ the price or 800 not 30 or 1/80 the price.

back in the day say 1978 silver got close to 50 and gold was around 500

this was the tightest margin ever silver about 1/10 the price of gold. not the current 1/80

gold works better for electronics than silver
gold would make the best car batteries ever they would last for 50 to 100 years.

so is the real reason gold is pricey is it is a better industrial metal?
You have a point Phil.

However the biggest reason for the price of gold over silver is availability. Gold is less abundant than silver.

Also Gold has a more expensive and complex extraction process.

Another advantage gold has is that it has a more expensive appearance than silver.

Gold overall has a higher demand than silver making people see it as a better store for value thus making it's price increase.

On the contrary silver is a better electronic component because of it's high conductivity and low price compared to gold.

Infact in the electrochemical series of elements , silver is the best conductor.

95  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My Electrum wallet says I have no Bitcoin on: August 18, 2024, 11:18:07 PM
Op either your wallet has been hacked and your coins spent or you simply are not connected to the internet or your device is having issues syncing up with some nodes. Anyways even with the syncing issues, last time I checked Electrum will just go ahead to display you last balance though if your toggle over to your settings you will get the message notifying you that you are not syncing with any node.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What would be the best way to get through customs at an airport with your Btc? on: August 18, 2024, 10:47:54 PM

I would use an electrum wallet

I would use a 13 word seed.

it has that option.

I would send multiple emails to multiple email accounts that I control

in each email i would have two or three of the seed words.

alternatively i would put the list of 2000+ words for seeds on this thread.

I would number the seed words 1 to 2000 plus

I would send emails to my emails with the numbers instead of the actual seed words.

either method above is okay for a temporary move.

certainly not perfectly safe.

you could fuck up when you create the emails and  lose the 13 word seed.
This is quite a long and risky process Phil especially if there's quite some fancy amounts on the address.

I think in a situation like the the old and regular paper wallet is nice enough. You can write those seed on a piece of paper, open up your pc and keep it in there.

Alternatively get a second device, format it don't connect it to the internet, boot in your wallet.

When you get past customs you can create a new wallet and moved your coins to ensure their safety.

You're lying, I just want to get the definition of Bitcoin, but there are no results after I use forum search. Forum search sucks, better to use google or ninjastic.space, you don't need to wait too long and you high likely will get the information you want.

Anyway this forum isn't the only one resource to get information about Bitcoin.
Well Op may have not made his point properly but he is right.
The forum search button  sucks for you because you probably don't know how to make use of it. You made mention of Ninjastic space as a better information search engine however you have forgotten that literally all the data there came from bitcointalk.

The fact is that if Everyone was good at using the search button many threads wouldn't need to be created including the Op's post which of course have been created multiple times before now.
As for the op there is no need for you to even create threads like this telling members obvious things. I suggest you learn and contribute in more important threads.

Op this thread is not necessary.
Expect it to be nuked or moved soon.
It's obvious why you created this thread. You did it because you are currently finding it difficult to rank up to full member.
