81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about Casinos rewards? on: May 10, 2024, 11:25:42 PM
Casinos are usually quote nice and gambler are always happy to get nice cash backs and rewards like free spin and many others. However although a gambler loves the idea of nice bonuses he's should also be careful to make sure he  doesn't end up signing in and depositing into a scam casino. Aside from this, you would notice that gamblers that enjoy these bonuses and cashbacks the most are the ones that stake consistently and are definitely also active users.
Some casinos even have more of a default bonus system like a cash back any time you make a deposit into your casino wallet. And although rewards like these may not be very huge, fancier and bigger rewards are usually available for premium and VIP gamblers. Generally it's quite interesting to get rewards from your casino.

Investing is something you don't just dive into weather in the case of crypto currencies like Bitcoin or not. I think before you make up your mind to make Bitcoin investments you should first answer the following questions properly.

  • Firstly do you know what Bitcoin investments is all about?
  • Do you intend making short term or long term investment s?
  • why do you wish to invest in Bitcoin?
  • what is your benefit in making Bitcoin investments
  • And lastly which I think is the most important, Are you ready to take full responsibility of your investment?

I think being able to answer the above questions properly should be regarded as the first step to making Bitcoin investments as being able to answer them already shows a great deal of interest and readiness to learn in the crypto space especially for your security like seed. Since you pretty much won't have hodlings of you are unable to protect your coins.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a core subject in our schools - Good or bad idea? on: May 09, 2024, 10:47:28 PM
Bitcoin as a core subject? Well in my opinion I would say cryptography as a core subject rather. Then students or pupils will be able to get a proper understanding of how the crypto space works especially in the case of Bitcoin. For some time now some schools already offer such subjects to their students however most of the time as a branch under one of their networking or programming subjects. I think if it was a full subject it should be divided into cryptographic programming and crypto economics.

although it's a nice idea, the biggest limitation is the Government since in some countries , crypto is regarded as illegal therefore schools in such regions can either not teach such subjects effectively or can't even teach it at all depending on the crypto tolerance of the governments of the respective countries.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you consider yourself, the family and gambling? on: May 09, 2024, 10:32:31 PM
1. At what age will you allow your child to start gambling? that is if you will even allow for that at all?
2. At what age do you see yourself quit gambling? that is also if some of us are going to ever do so?
3. Ever since you have started gambling, have you ever achieve a satisfying level that makes you think it has good impact on you?
4. Would you have missed out on anything if you were not a gambler?
Firstly I don't think it's a nice move to expose kids to Gambling activities let alone allow kids to gamble. I don't think that's kid who puts in too much interest into Gambling at a very young age will end up a responsible gambler. Also Gambling is something I have noticed that most of the time, younger adults tend to put in more interest into than older people . This is because, most of the time as gamblers grow older some tend to gradually lose interest in Gambling activities probably because they already put in a whole bunch of time into it during their earlier days.
As for the third question, I believe it has a strong relationship with a gamblers Gambling win. Sometimes the most common impact gamblers feel is usually when they hit a nice prize or jackpot and they end up spending the money on something nice and important to them .
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peoples expectations about casinos free spins on: May 09, 2024, 10:25:21 PM
Casinos usually offer free spins to their users especially those who stake and play frequently. Free spins are quite nice and as long as the casino is a fine one and Not a scam you should be able to make wins just like in the regular stake spins. The odds of winning in both cases are quite close however most casinos have rules and terms most of the time in other to get free spins.

Will you also feel wrong about the weekly bonuses and monthly bonuses? They are free money too.
Though you refer to them as free money, free spins are more of an added benefit or form of bonus for especially constant or VIP gamblers especially in the case of an online casino. Free spins can be very exciting especially in cases where you actually hit a nice multiplier which sums up to a decent  amount of cash.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you win? on: May 09, 2024, 10:15:56 PM
On a general observation, we may not be able to quantify how often we are winning while gambling, not because there is no history record to take, but because we may get discouraged after discovering that we often loose in gambling than we win, so i don't see any benefits in it knowing the rate at which we lose to that of the ones we often won, this is gambling and we should know for that reason, we are more liable to lose than winning, but at the end, we gain being entertained.
This is quite true because if you notice closely a majority of Gambling activities have a great percentage of luck involved in other for the Gambling to win a stake. And however, although wins can happen often, losses are also something you really can't avoid a hundred percent of the time. Therefore as gamblers win so also they may lose along the way sometimes. I think one of the most important things to take note of is to make sure that even if losses come sometimes, there should also be a couple of wins too to prevent a gambler from running into a gross loss.
The truth is even if no one likes to lose, we still lose some of the time especially when luck doesn't fall on the side of the gambler. I think this is part of the reasons some gamblers end of switching to a different game or pausing Gambling for a while when they've lost too frequently.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 09, 2024, 10:06:18 PM
Firstly I think that younger ones Gambling is very wrong. The age restriction for Gambling is more like a safe guard to prevent unnecessary and irresponsible Gambling habits of an individual and hence the Gambling restriction of 18+. A lot of teenagers are not able to make proper decisions for themselves hence if they are given the opportunity to gamble they will end up abusing it and even harming themselves. One common issue is that in some countries they are unable to properly enforce the 18+ Gambling rule hence alot of these teenagers in such countries are able to do such things illegally.

As far as I am concerned I think this is one of the best periods to hold. Now it is a little easier to do that since the price of Bitcoin right now is quite stable and low compared to some promising values it attained during earlier periods of this year. Bitcoin has hit some nice prices this year and a majority of Bitcoiners and crypto enthusiast are definitely hoping and believe nicer prices will definitely come sooner.

I have come across a majority of posts like this on this forum however I never mind always going through them as it's always a nice idea to remind people not to forget to keep hodling  Wink +1

Okay now just imagine it happens now and Bitcoin rose to the price range of $250k and you only have a little bitcoin stash in your portfolio. You may endup not yielding something good due to not having much quantities stashed.
As for this it will still yield something very nice if Bitcoin hits $250k( which is near impossible for now), then your current hodling would almost triple. That already is a nice profit.
Don't forget to keep your keys safe

91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: time to re-sync a full node after power-outage on: May 08, 2024, 02:18:37 PM
Hello,

for the case there should be a power outage, will the entire blockchain be downloaded again or only the changes (since the outage)?

Thank you!
Synchronization of a node with the block chain mainly entails downloading the block chain data and storing the necessary files to your computer's drive. And just like DaveF mentioned, there should be no problem as long as none of the data got corrupt during the process of sudden shut down. To avoid this you can make use of a backup power plan like a UPS during the sync period. I also believe that your device processing power also has a nice role to play here.

For a majority of devices you should be able to continue from your point during the sync. I suggest that if the syncronisation hasn't gone far before the outage you could just restart the entire process to avoid a situation where you get an error after the sync is complete.

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A Bitcoin wallet that allows any low fee... on: May 08, 2024, 05:48:53 AM
Op you are actually referring to fee customization most wallets now have that function since most users are aware that it's possible to choose the fees you wish to use. Customizing Bitcoin fees is something that should be done with fine understanding of how the block chain works. Meaning you should be able to check the Mempool with necessary tools to know the level of conjestion at the time you intend on broadcasting your transaction.

As usual, the higher the fees you make use of the faster your transaction is confirmed and added to the next block. However when trying to pick the best fee for your transaction you should take note of the minimal fee at the time of broadcast. This is because if your fees fall below the minimal fee , nodes will simply drop your transaction.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How active can a newbie be daily? on: May 07, 2024, 09:35:49 PM
Being active on the forum is just a matter of choice. Not all newbies are ready to be active forum members. Firstly being active on the forum is just a matter of being online a majority of the time and also engaging in informative and nice discussions.  Sometimes some users are actually active however sometimes they are in boards that don't really have much engagement like some others. Newbies that remain active are usually those that want to either learn or give out info on this forum.

As a newbie you will notice that  you will. Begin to like the forum more and consequently spend more time surfing the more you begin to learn especially if you are a total newbie to the crypto space.
95  Economy / Service Discussion / BPIP search issue on: May 07, 2024, 11:28:17 AM
I noticed some sort of minor issue with the  BPIP search function. I noticed it a long while ago while trying to search my user name but I just ignored it ever since. Now for most search functions , when you attempt making a search it ignores certain characters at the end of the text. However I noticed that the BPIP search function doesn't do that.

Now why am I saying this?
For those making use of mobile phones most of the time, while in the process of making a search the device most times suggests the text being typed especially if it is frequently searched. Now the problem here is most mobile devices have their auto space function on by default so if you eventually click on the suggestion, it adds a space to the text automatically and when you eventually hit the search button BPIP returns a message saying the profile cannot be found just because of the unimportant space character at the end of the search. Although I haven't tried if same issue comes up if I make use of unimportant characters like (. , ? "! *) at the end of the search text.

I think it should be looked into and fixed to allow for a smoother search experience on BPIP. And of course I made this thread here mainly for a better visibility.

97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 05, 2024, 09:18:41 PM
~
Realistically less than 10%, or maybe even less than 5%. I started with around 10% ish back then cause my salary was damn low, but nowadays I only use 5% or so whenever I play since I switched jobs to a better paying one. That's my case, in your case all depends on what you can actually afford. It may even be below 5% if you're struggling so far so it all depends. If you're just starting out I'd recommend somewhere around 3-5%? That's after you calculate every expense btw like bills, savings, investments and whatnot.
I won't really give an estimate since income differs among gamblers. In some cases some persons are able to spare up to 10% of their income for making stakes. Some other users on the other hand may even find it difficult to spare a whole 10% of their income. Aside from the reason of responsibility difference of different gamblers, their level of liking for Gambling activities also contributes a great deal to their staking habits.
However In addition to all I have said , it think logically it's safe to stake between the range of at most 10% of one's income. This is because you can't really say you can afford losing 30% of your income.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Principles Of Bitcoin on: May 05, 2024, 08:26:41 PM
Mia Chloe said it's not very frequent as if successful ones have happened in the past. If it's possible but not frequent, the whole network would have been down. Then incentive system has a way of solving it, if you have such a power to execute attack, you rather use it to earn more BTC to yourself.
My point is quite simple. I'm not saying there has been a successful 51% attack,  since so far from various articles I have read I haven't come across any recorded one. however, my point is there have been attempted ones a couple of times in the past. However since the 51% attack is based mainly on hash rate, those attacks were quickly twhated. Right now with the importance of Bitcoin transactions , the network just can't risk having such an attack. Plus building such amount of huge hash rate isn't an easy thing.

I wanted more room so I used principles instead of protocols
What i mean is all protocols are principles.
I get your point however Bitcoin is quite technical and choice of words have a significant role to play while passing information. for that reason in a context like this I won't fully agree that principles are same as protocols though they are close in meaning, protocols in this case should involve so sort of program or code rather.

100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football/Soccer Winning Strategy on: May 05, 2024, 06:07:48 PM
When it comes to Gambling bets can we say that there definitely is a strategy to making stakes and placing bets? My reason for saying this is quite simple. Now if you observe closely you will notice that sports betting including soccer is more like making a prediction and in such a case predictions are based more on luck than calculations. Although analysis and experience also helps, the percentage of luck required to ace a bet is still very huge compared to the level of experience and analysis required.
Now I am not saying it's impossible to have a strategy in sports betting, rather all I'm saying is that although it is possible the role luck has to play is still a very huge one.
