Das hab ich anders in erinnerung! Visa und MC haben klipp und klar gesagt das sie nur mit Wavecrest die Zusammenarbeit beenden und das keine Ablehnung gegen kryptos an sich ist!
So wurde es publiziert. Korrekt. Hätten sich ja such ins Knie geschossen, wenn man Krypto die Schuld gegeben hätte. Es gibt aber die Vorgabe seitens der Regierung, dass KYC & AML gemacht werden MUSS. Diese Vorgabe gibt Visa an seine Issuer (hier Wavecrest) weiter. Hat Wavecrest nicht eingehalten, die die Kartenbesitzer anonym blieben und dann auch noch anonym mit Bitcoin die Karte aufladen konnte. Es ist richtig, dass es nicht wegen Krypto geschlossen wurde, sondern weil Amonym und es keine AML & KYC Prüfung gab. Es gibt ja auch seit heute wieder eine Visa Karte von Coinbase. Wer bei Coinbase seine Legitimitätsprüfung (KYC) abgeschlossen hat, kann jetzt eine Visa Debitkarte beantragen. http://www.coinpages.io/coinbase-card.html Da muss ich in einigen punkten leider wiedersprechen. In jedem land gibt es grenzbeträge bei denen eine „registrierung“ der daten ohne ID verfahren ausreicht. Auch wenn anonym aufladbar! Beispiele sind zb die Money2go mastercard in DE: https://www.money2gocard.de/Und die epay mastercard in AT: https://www.kreditkarten-prepaid.at/epay-mastercard/Beide sind bis zu einem maximalbetrag mit anonymen vouchers beladbar, ohne ID prüfung. Epay zb. 200€ monatlich und 1200€ pro jahr. Man muss halt von der definition: Anonym= registrierte personaldaten ohne prüfung auf richtigkeit und ohne ID verfahren ausgehen. Also „anonym ^^“ Wavecrest hat sich meines wissens an die grenzbeträge in Gibraltar gehalten. Die gesetzeslage war vermutlich auch der grund warum die firma dort registriert war. Ein MUSS ist die dokumentenpflicht meines wissens nach nur wenn ein Iban konto auf den namen des besitzers der karte ausgestellt wird. Und registrieren musste man bei allen wavecrest karten seine daten. Iban wurde bei den meisten anbietern ohnehin keiner ausgestellt. |

You said that the „—prune blockchain“ option needs to be includet every time the daemon is started, right!?
My problem:
To be safe i deleted the old blockchain database and started a fully new sync. The daemon was running till 66% and then he stoped and shut down. I don‘t know why..
When i start monerod again with „--prune blockchain“ i get the error „could not start sync- to many dirty blocks“. When i do the same with „-db salve“ instead of „-prune blockchain“ it starts to sync again but also shuts down some hours later.
The last version of the daemon was slower but worked constant. What could be the problem?

The new daemon works perfect. Syncing is much faster! Took about 12h to get 100% and even the cpu load and memory usage of my device does not even reach 15%. Good job!  |

Is it fair to say then that the system where the node runs on is not particularly resourceful? Because if so, that is partly the cause of your relatively poor performance. In addition, note that the current daemon has inefficient sync code and JIT is not enabled. Both have a serious impact on performance, which may also be partly the cause of your issue. I'd advise to give v0.14.1, once it is released, another shot, as it will have drastically better performance. The cubietruck should not be underestimated. The computing power of this tiny computer is very impressive ... But i will wait for the new release of course |

I had some transactions confirmed with them in the past and it worked. I never used to pay the fee they asked for. But i can confirm the free accelerations worked instant!

I still have some problems with my node. Monerod status check shows 100% sync and there are some in/out connections (about 8/6), so all ok.
But when i connect my gui and send a transaction it takes 20-30 min to fully broadcast it and get the block hight. So orders with a time limit time out before its finished to send the transaction.
At the moment the transaction was done the node had to sync another 471 blocks. And this takes to much time.
Would it be more constant if i set a „block sync size“ of 5 or 10 blocks?

I only reach 98-99,7% and still 8000 blocks missing after more then ten days. Now after some days, changing to normal internet connection, and changing swappines of swap, i reach 99,7% sync. Thats a problem i cant solve because there is no error or similar, so no point to start changing something. is there something else that can cause that problem? and my secound question: Are there any benifits from running my own local node behind a vpn or tor connection? Or does running over normal internet and only „within lan“ use protect enough and there is no ip faking nessesary? This applies to your case too: JIT not being enabled in v0.14.0.2 significantly decreases performance. In addition, v0.14.0.2 is based on inefficient sync code present in v0.13. Both these issues will be resolved in v0.14.1 though, which is expected to be released soon (I cannot provide a specific ETA unfortunately). Additionally, could you perhaps type status into monerod and post the output here? Seems not to be needet any more. I checked the monerod status yesterday and with normal internet connection i reached 100% sync now. In case that my home IP address does not get connected to my transactions in the blockchain, when i use the node with normal internet, its not a problem for me to run the node this way. The wallet and GUI would be behind TOR or Openvpn of corse. |

Visa hatte doch die Nutzung der Prepaid-Karten gesperrt. Ist der Einsatz nun wieder möglich?
Ich bin z.B. im Urlaub in Thailand und möchte bei einer Bank oder am ATM, Kryptos gegen thailändische Baht tauschen.
Welche Karte würdest Du mir empfehlen?

I am running my own monero node on a single board computer (cubietruck+ 120 gb ssd) now for some time. Its running behind an openvpn router to mask the ip from public.
Now after some days and different configs the blockchain sync stays at 98,0% all the time. Thats a problem i cant solve because there is no error or similar, so no point to start changing something.
Block sync size is set to 10 but i also tried 5 with same results.
Is this comming from the slower speed of the vpn connection? Or is there something else that can cause that?
I am not even sure if the vpn connection has benefits with running the node. Is the nodes ip even sent and saved in the monero blockchain?

Got scammed just now.I can't believe that after being involved in crypto for so many years, I got scammed. Lost around $800 to these scammers. First they say that the registration is free. After that, in order to apply for the mastercard, you need to deposit a minimum of BTC0.10. Once I made the deposit, immediately the account got locked. And now they are asking for KYC documents. And I am not retarded to send my KYC documents to these scammers. Learnt the lesson in a hard way.  Really sad to hear that!  This scam is really tricky and planned down to the last detail. Don’t misunderstand me, I do not want to talk about it in any positive way, but it is no shame to trap in this scam! So it is very important to warn others about it and let the scammers money flow dry out. Btw. Don’t even think about sending your documents! Your money is gone and the e-mail for correspondence is non existing. |

Seite wirkt professionell. Habe aber keinerlei weitere aussagekräftige Informationen gefunden. Nicht hier im Forum und auch kaum Erfahrungsberichte auf anderen Plattformen. Und zu einer Debitkarte gibt es nur diese Aussage "Black Banx Card (upon request)" Vielleicht spielen die auch in einer anderen Liga, wenn man das Gold-Konto auch erst ab einem Guthaben von $100.000.- bekommt... Selbst hab ich wb21 nie getestet aber ich weiß von einigen die damit erfolgreich ihre auslandsfirmen mit einem konto ergänzt haben. Es gab zu jeder karte von wb21 auch mal ein eigenes iban konto. Wegen zu vieler betrugsanfragen von behörden wurde das dann aber nicht mehr angeboten. Ich hoffe das meine erinnerung mich das jetzt richtig wiedergeben hat lassen  ist doch schon jahre her... |

Ich denke, Revolut sollte bei dieser Liste nicht fehlen. https://www.revolut.com/Hab sie selber nicht getestet; war aber bei früheren Recherchen immer wieder darauf gestoßen. Scheint legitim und auch günstig zu sein. Für mich wäre es auch interessant zu wissen, bei welchem der Anbieter die Cryptos vorher in fiat getauscht werden müssen, und bei welchem sie erst zum Zeitpunkt des Kaufes "umgewandelt" werden. Das ist schon richtig aber soweit ich mich erinnere waren vor kurzem alle möglichen foren voll mit warnungen wegen revolut. Wollt ich nur gesagt haben. Nachdem ich revolut nie ausprobiert hab hab ich die warnposts aber natürlich auch nicht gelesen.
