81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: April 08, 2024, 09:01:18 PM
Bitcoin investment is indeed one of the best investment opportunities in this era. Though gold is also a good asset for investment but due to the liquidity of Bitcoin which gives everyone an opportunity to have smaller division and trade it digitally using P2P, that's an advantage of Bitcoin over gold. And the volatility of Bitcoin is the major reason for the dump and pump in price, so it's also an advantage because the over movement of Bitcoin says so. Of cause when dealing with an asset digitally it tends to pose more threat as there is a possibility of hack especially when you become careless in storing your seed phrase but it also helps to stay anonymous and even make very large amount of transaction that might even cause a public awareness if it where to be gold.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: April 08, 2024, 08:36:58 PM
Is this the wrong advice? A friend of mine took over his father's company because he is so old already and he told me about the money thats available doing nothing in the bank.

I told him to think about investing that money if he wants to keep the company growing, I told him about how MicroStrategy is doing so well using Bitcoin as a strong backbone of the company, I believe that even a small company can turn big if they use Bitcoin as their main investment.

Or am I wrong? I need to know if this advice is a good one or a bad one, I gave him this advice because we are very close and also because I will do the same thing if I am in his shoe, this is the best thing i can think of right now.

Op, irrespective of the fact that you told your friend about Bitcoin and gave him the merits of Bitcoin investment, it would have been better if you also talk to him about the demerits of Bitcoin investment so that, he would not put all the blame on if any thing goes wrong. Because most times due to lack of enough knowledge, some beginner make the mistake of having a consciousness of trading rather than investing for long term and after all their experience with the loss encountered they begin to put the blame on you who taught you were doing them good.

I know so many persons would disagree, but before you invest in Bitcoin I advise that you have a concrete knowledge of the basics of Bitcoin investment. Basic term like Bitcoin network, Blockchain, wallet, seed phrase.....  It's better to know what you are getting your self into than to make your moves based on  hope or other people's consent. I believe this is were "knowledge is better than Faith" can be applicable.

84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lately I've been thinking about this a lot. on: April 08, 2024, 05:16:44 AM
Op what you are saying isn't far from what's happening in the real life situations. Most times some of these players who have gained quite a good reputation just intentionally losses a match, this is even common in the football game, but if your are caught, you'll face the fifa ban. But in real sense, I don't get the reason why someone would actually lose a match intentionally just because he wants to get extra gain from betting against himself. I deem that to be wickedness because ones you start such behavior, you can never get satisfied meaning, from time to time they'll still bet against their selves.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: April 07, 2024, 03:06:20 PM
Indeed, it would be better for those who are very tired and have experienced many losses at gambling. It would be better for them to stop gambling, because if we continue gambling, of course this will make us continue to experience losses which will result in us not being able to meet our own needs.

All gamblers are prone to loss, so quitting would not be the best idea, because such person may still return  to gambling with that same mindset of experiencing only wining or more wining. Besides if you gamble with small stakes you wouldn't even feel the impact of losing your money, it is advised that a gambler limits his stakes and spend less time gambling else he might get addicted and even loss some of his property because of gambling. But when you have discipline all you need is to restructure your gambling schedule and stake, if possible keep a specific amount to be used for gambling, and never try to exceed that amount.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: April 07, 2024, 05:24:03 AM
It's better to give gambling a break and restructure your schedule than to let it Interfere with you work. I personally don't let any other thing to distract me when I am working because, my work is the source of my income and if anything happens to it, it means there is no more gambling or even performing other activity that money is required of it. Gambling can be tempting at times, it takes only a discipline person to do the right thing at the right time. So congratulations to the op for using your initiative to restructure your schedule for gambling, else you would have gotten yourself into trouble at your work place.

88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: April 06, 2024, 08:07:02 AM
Assuming the winners in a gamble site is more than the losers then that gamble site or casino won't last for long. The reason we see casino and gamble shops expanding is because they are making enough profit from the gamblers. Anyway who uses the mentality of coming into gambling to loss some fund will never get addicted or gamble irresponsibly because he already knows how gambling functions. If a gambler knows that he'll be experiencing losses more than his wins, then he'll make adjustments to his stake and gamble wisely to catch some fun.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: April 05, 2024, 05:38:23 PM
I don't remember doing anything crazy enough to bet. Because I'm not addicted to it. But once I bet my personal mobile phone. But it was limited to our friend group. I did it just for fun.

The reason you didn't become addicted to what you were doing then is because you only did it for fun and not for making extra money, assuming you had a wrong intention in games you were gambling on, that could have lead to becoming addicted. When you gamble is such instances just for making the game more interesting and serious it will eventually bring the beauty of the game you're playing, and every player would take the game serious. I have also had same experience where we bet on our selves in some games, it might be a street to street match. But we never one day made the mistake of staking what we cannot produce collectively from our spare money from our pockets.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: April 05, 2024, 05:42:15 AM
Luck is not always with us in gambling, so when we gamble, if we lose money by gambling, of course in order to get back the lost money, usually people who are addicted to gambling become restless, how can they recover that money by gambling again and again. And they lose more than twice as much money as they lose gambling. Gambling is never right to make us addicted because in this way if gambling is seen they are wasting their cash and their family is harmed so one must be careful before gambling many families are destroyed due to this gambling so gambling becomes addiction.

I can't say for sure, but most times  the reason for increasing your stakes is because of greed and that has gotten lots of gamblers into  trouble. As a gambler you should know when to quit gambling no matter the wins at that moment. And one of the way to gamble responsibly is when you stay satisfied with whatever the result is, rather than looking for a way to increase your stake or borrow money to chase your losses. When you gamble responsibly, you'll enjoy the fun that comes from gambling.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about cheating in gambling? on: April 05, 2024, 05:14:36 AM
Op I understand your point, most persons cheat when they have the opportunity in a round table in casino hall. But you made a mistake by saying everyone would cheat if they have the opportunity to do so. Not everyone have that kind of mentality. It all depends on what you are good at, some of us are discipline enough to accept defeat without compromising our Integrity. But yes, we have lots of gamblers who would cheat if they get the opportunity and most time the reason some persons cheat is because of the kind of mindset they have towards gambling. Some persons have prioritize gambling as their source of income so they must definitely do whatever it takes for them win a bet.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: April 05, 2024, 04:53:46 AM
When you're on the Lossing side this thought always come to your mind, but it's not true. These casino games are built using random selection of cards but I believe the possibility of you winning is minimal. Most time the reason we thinks we are being cheated is because the casino are the one handling the card you selected and the result, so definitely they'll make your wining possiblity minimal. The only thing left for you to do at this point is to gamble responsibly and stay discipline. lucks aren't always on our side.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: April 05, 2024, 04:18:55 AM
Many gamblers you see today, started from their childhood to gamble, some games we played then, we thought it to be for fun without even knowing we were actually gambling. But when we started growing up to a certain age, then we realized our selves and either made it official or sneak to gamble. And at some point we even made stupid decision all in the name of making extra money for ourselves. But the most important thing is how you handle that behavior. gambling from childhood is either you become irresponsible gambler or you be a professional by knowing when to quit.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: April 05, 2024, 04:06:40 AM
It's still a shock to me how Many U manage to loose the match after holding strong for more than 30 minutes. I enjoyed the game, seeing how the both team did their comeback. Man U did their under 5 minutes while chelsea did their under 1 minutes. The performance of cole Palmer stroke the entire world, he is just an underated beast that lies in premier league, but due to the performance of their coach selection and changes He is not being fed with the right ball by his team mates, but when ever he gets a clear opportunity, you surely delivers.

A friend was completely blaming ten hag for the strategy Man united used in playing during the last 10 minutes but I don't think so, the United did their best but luck wasn't on their side that day. And besides for the past 14 meeting between United and Chelsea, this is their first win.

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you considered staking? on: April 04, 2024, 10:25:32 PM
Well, 3.3% is a little thing for rich people but for common people, it was big enough. You had earned some while holding, it is a good thing indeed.

I don't think, 3.3% is a big profit for even the common persons because if they put in small money into such investment the profit rate is still constant 3.3% hence you'll get just the same small percentage. Be it rich or poor, that percentage is too small.

I don’t really agree. If you are holding your coins on a place that offers flexible staking; meaning you can withdraw them on any moment, without any fee than why not stake them? It can give you some passive income for doing nothing. Whenever I have this option, I always stake my crypto.

It's always advise not to store your coins in an exchange not even when the exchange offer the ability to stake your assets with them. So if you like staking your coin in an exchange it's just because you've not had any experience with third parties or should I say, you are not completely knowledgeable of the risk associated in staking.
97  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: You misuses your opportunity when you are not afraid of your downfall. on: April 04, 2024, 08:43:38 PM
How would it feel of going backwards instead of going forwards just after reaching a prosperous great height.

Such could actually insight suicidal thoughts and low personalities if the situation becomes unbearable.

I know exactly what that guy is experiencing right now, I know how it feels to have great achievements and after a while you just fall drastically as though the world turned its back against you. Trust me advise alone at that moment can't stop that feeling, they just have to give him sometime to blow off some steam, if he is sees that there is more to life than quitting over some challenge, he'll definitely get his shit together and try again. Some time the experience we encounter are the we are what we are today, your entire life is dependent on the choices you make.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies take bitcoin as long term Choice to get the best out of bitcoin on: April 04, 2024, 02:42:01 PM
Impatience is one of the major reason some investors don't go into Bitcoin investment. they are not discipline enough to wait patiently for the price of Bitcoin to increase in a long term. And that is why after buying Bitcoin for a month and they experience small pump in price, they'll just sell off everything. I bet that there are some Investors who sold their Bitcoin when the bull just began Grin, due to the lack of faith or should I say, ignorant about Bitcoin network and it's price movement principles they just assume Bitcoin can't go beyond a particular limit.
99  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your next step if you experience a Great BEAR MARKET ? on: April 04, 2024, 02:28:45 PM
Currently Bitcoin is expected to have a bull run and halving in coming time as we all know it.

Now if you were to make an investment of $100 as a beginner regardless of your country and as it stands Bitcoin is experiencing a bear market (an example) after you made 5% capital.

Initially you want to hold for a very long time but as a result of the bear market you loose your capital and half your investment yet the market is showing no sign for you to recover.
What's your next step as a first timer in Bitcoin /Altcoin trading?

Op I'll like to add that, if you buy $100 worth of Bitcoin which is currently 0.0015BTC, and the price start dumping, in real sense it's only the worth of the Bitcoin in dollar or any currency you compare it to that reduces the value of the Bitcoin you bought remains the same. That is, you still have 0.0015BTC in your wallet but the value has reduced. It might dump as low as -50% which means your $100 worth of Bitcoin would be $50 but  your Bitcoin figure remains the same, it's only the value that changes.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what you guys think? on: April 04, 2024, 01:41:34 PM
I had never heard of the AquaTank project before. In the current market hype many new projects are temporarily showing good performance. However, just because a project is migrating to the Solana chain does not mean that the project will be successful because many projects are now being included in the Solana chain. Sometimes it can be a good way to profit from the investment for a short period of time, but my opinion investing Aqua in Solana chain will be risky. Profits may take a while but I think it's always better to stick to the top coins when it comes to investing.

I like the use of the word " temporary showing good performance". Most investors fall for this trick, the fact that a coin is doing well at first, it doesn't mean its a promising coin for Investment. In fact most project starts well but they end up to become shitcoins, the fact that the project is getting included in solana chain doesn't mean it will be as profitable as Solana itself. We have lots of coins added to the Blockchain but yet most are shitcoins today, so many coin were created but some have left the cryptocurrency network by crashing. Investment decision is on you, if you which to invest based on your research and findings then go ahead. But I can't recommend you going into the project now for short term, as it might result to loss.
