81  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Legal system guiding Bitcoin that the govt. would always fail to regulate it. on: April 01, 2024, 06:32:20 AM
It is undoubtedly a difficult problem, with several elements to consider. One point to consider is that bitcoin is based on blockchain technology, which is intended to be distributed and resistant to manipulation. This implies that any attempt by governments to control cryptocurrencies risks undermining the fundamental ideas upon which it was built. Another thing to examine is cryptocurrency's role in fostering financial inclusivity. Many individuals throughout the world do not have access compared to conventional financial services, and bitcoin might enable them to participate in the global economy. Furthermore, it is unclear how regulation will function across countries and authorities.
82  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: What to do when you dey depressed on: March 30, 2024, 12:32:40 PM
E get one of my brother wey just start to dey drink recently so I ask am say why all of a sudden he won turn himself to a drunkard, he say na because say him dey depressed.
The truth that many people do not know is that alcohol does not cure depression but only postpone it. To cure depression through alcohol, you need to be constantly drunk else anytime your eyes clear, the pains and everything that got you depress will return with full force.

In our world today and especially our country where a lot of people are becoming depressed due to present economic realities, it is very important one take care of his mental health above anything else. To achieve this, planning is very important because through proper planning, the limited funds can be allocated to important things first and not frivolities.

What to do when you are depressed or worried about something
1: seek Help: There is a popular saying that goes like this"a closed mouth is a closed destiny" Talk to someone you trust, it could be a family member, friend or even a therapist to help guide you. Talking to someone go help relieve some worries you were having and solution can come from there .
This aspect is being neglected by many people as people are so conservative these days under the inglorious saying "minding their business". I called it inglorious because nothing decides the society than lack of socialisation,  communication and synergy.  A lot of people will never talk to anyone about their ordeals, they prefer dying in silence.

I'm delighted you mentioned getting aid from others, whether it's a family member, friend, or a therapist. Reaching out for help is always a good idea.
You've made some wonderful recommendations, and I'd want to add a couple more, if that's acceptable. In addition to what you said, I believe it is critical for individuals to care for their state of health when they are sad. This might include eating nutritious foods, getting adequate sleep, and exercising frequently. Even taking a walk outside might improve our attitude. It is also critical to limit our exposure to hazardous individuals and situations. Sometimes, the most effective thing we can do for our mental health is separate ourselves from relationships or environments that are causing us stress or making us feel bad about ourselves.
83  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: What did you consider the worst advice you received from your parents as a child on: March 30, 2024, 12:23:26 PM
Na so e be, small pikin dem now na there parents, family members, teachers dey advise dem to go school, study engineering, medicine, law, pharmacy or one of those conventional courses just because them hear say e dey pay well or them dey get work well well. The problem be say most times, say these things wey them dey advice people no dey match the person in question e passion or their interests. So I think say this one na why person suppose try dey take time to know wetin dem like wella, wetin be their passion and make dem think about their future well before them go school. And so if person dey know wetin dem like, them go fit choose the right course wey go fit dem well. I get the idea say parents dem only dey try make sure say their pikin dey ok, but the fact be say, e no go work well if dem no understand say the person must dey happy with wetin dem dey do. For example, if  somebody like to cook but dem force am to study law and person no like law, na so dem go dey do the work half-heartedly, and them no go fit do am well well. Infact, e fit make person dey depressed self. So na why I think say person supposed take time to do some soul searching and self reflection to find out wetin fit dey motivate dem. Also social media dey part of all this things wey we dey talk because I think say social media na both blessings and curse because e fit expose person to choose different career paths and idea and e fit make person dey compare themselves with others and comparison fit dey make person feel say dem no dey good enough, na why I think say person need to dey aware of the power of social media and how e dey affect us either positively or negatively.
84  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Social vices; unhealthy society. on: March 30, 2024, 12:00:10 PM
Societies that occupied chronic drugs addicts, chain smokers, high way robbers, prostitutions, kidnappers, cultism, bloody leaders, and witchcrafts practices is vulnerable to threats and unhealthy society. Some communities has no peace around their environment because they're people who have decided to create tends atmosphere. You can not move freely because you're sore afraid of another persons posting as threats to their lives.

Any society that do not practice harmony and coherent society tends to destroy lives of its members and when lives is negatively affected it becomes a threats to the society. We should leader to maintain healthy society by been clean to yourself and your community. Let's avoid bad habits and drugs to build possible society for the future.

You are correct that drug addiction, criminality, and other bad activities may have far-reaching consequences for the entire community. Another factor that must be taken into account is the role of technology and the press in impacting opinions in society because they are capable of disseminating misinformation and sometimes enhance negative attitudes and feelings, which can lead to a variety of negative outcomes such as increased discrimination, sexism, and even violence, because it is not only a matter of personal well-being, but also of social health. So, I believe it is up to us as people to be conscious of how we use technology and ensure that it does not negatively effect our lives, which is a realistic aim.
85  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Population on: March 30, 2024, 11:39:28 AM
A re distribution of the population from countries with a huge density of people per unit of area would imply a huge demographic change in several countries around the world which many governments and populations would not be able to accept, for political reasons, religious reasons and even race questions.

Imagine how people from Japan, the United States, Brazil or the United Kingdom would react if their governments announced a special plan to offer permanent residence to anyone of India and China who would be willing to move in. Many would not be happy about it, I tell you.

I believe it is critical to be open-minded and investigate other approaches to these difficulties. I admire your notion of increasing the nutritional value of life in highly populated nations. This might include expanding availability of healthcare, education, and various additional resources, as well as lowering poverty and strengthening infrastructure. This might make individuals happier with their life and less inclined to wish to leave. Furthermore, if transportation technology improves, it may become simpler and more economical to travel great distances fast, thus alleviating population pressure in particular locations. Additionally, people may be able to work virtually from any part of the globe.
86  Other / Politics & Society / Re: LIFE on: March 30, 2024, 11:05:06 AM
All life loves life and reproduction.
The future of life is to transform the cosmic matter into more life at all costs.
As the pioneer and pride of life, human beings should wake up.
Life is kind, and the foundation of life is food and comfortable living space.
So stop wars and internal friction, use these energy to make more food, and let the flower of life bloom all over the universe.
This is the calling of life.

I love how you characterize life as something that is alive and developing, with a purpose to spread over space. However, if we see life as a "calling," the most fundamental requirement for survival is food. So it seems reasonable that the first goal for a species seeking to achieve its destiny would be to create more food. In some respects, we can see this occurring now on Earth. For example, humanity have created agricultural methods and technology that have greatly boosted our capacity to generate food. But this has come at a cost, and we are also depleting additional supplies, which may not be durable in the long run.
87  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Importance of education to the society.. on: March 30, 2024, 10:49:46 AM
Education is more than simply memorizing facts and statistics; it is also about cultivating creative thinking abilities, understanding how to interact with people, and being a contributing part of society. I love how you bring up the relationship between knowledge and self-confidence; it's really true! Education may make people feel able and competent of facing new problems. And I believe that education is the cornerstone for future success, regardless of the job route one chooses. Well said! Also, being an active member of society. All of these things are really essential, and I believe they are sometimes forgotten when discussing the value of education.  I'm delighted you purchased it. However, by obtaining an education in a certain profession, individuals might earn and require the necessary skills and information to develop in their jobs and attain their objectives.
88  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you cope with Teenagers experiencing Youthful Exuberance? on: March 30, 2024, 08:39:04 AM
Exercise is also beneficial for mood regulation and stress reduction. It's also critical to offer your child with an atmosphere that is safe and encouraging at home. This entails establishing clear rules and regulations but also expressing love and acceptance. Also, to foster an environment of trust and transparency.
Also, harassment is a genuine problem for many teenagers, and it may have a major influence on their mental health. I wanted to discuss social media and technology. Teenagers are frequently overly attached to their electronics, and it can be difficult to manage time spent watching television with other activities. Setting time spent on social media or the internet, or encouraging them to take part in other activities such as sports,
89  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Few ways we can better our society. on: March 30, 2024, 07:57:51 AM
Society is  the basis upon which human civilization is created. It is our collective ideas that shape our lives, governs our behaviour and provide us with a sense of belongings. As such, it's important we take steps to better our society, let's create a world that is fairer, more equitable for everyone.

One of the key ways in which we can better society is by promoting education. Education is the foundation upon which every great society is built. It empowers individuals, brings up creativity and innovation and cultivates critical thinking skills. For example, it's the innovative and creative idea of Satoshi Nakamoto that we enjoy bitcoin today. Let the government invest in education from the earliest years of life through adulthood by providing opportunities for lifelong learning.

Another way in which we can better society is by promoting diversity and inclusion. Society is stronger when it embraces diversity and recognizes the unique contributions of all individuals. We must work to eliminate discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all. This means creating workplaces, schools, and communities that are welcoming to people of all backgrounds and cultures. By embracing diversity and inclusion, we can create a more vibrant and harmonious society.
Let love lead at all time! Peace!

I like how you phrased it, "let love lead". The concept of love as the cornerstone for an improved community is extremely compelling. It's great to see how knowledge and variety can foster love and compassion. One of the most fascinating aspects of our modern environment is the range of methods in which we may learn new things, even as adults. Online courses, podcasts, and films are all effective instruments for lifelong learning. In fact, it is projected that the typical individual learns more in their first a total of five years of retiring than they did throughout their preceding 30 years of employment! It is equally crucial to have a diverse range of thoughts and views expressed in all parts of society.
90  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Empire of Evil Empire of Lie on: March 30, 2024, 07:18:07 AM
The word "Russia" is simply a term or name of a group of people who live on a piece of land. The fact that there are leaders who promote evil at times does not make all the people to be this way.

The only nation of the whole world that could possibly NOT be a nation of lies and evil, is one that has a vast majority of people who are Bible believing Christians, who DO as much as possible the good expressed in the New Testament of the Bible.

Russia isn't any worse or better than any average nation. In fact, since they have the Russian Orthodox Church, they have Jesus salvation because they promote it through the Bible that they believe in.

It is people who do not believe in the Bible and God and Jesus-salvation who are the evil liars. It is people who constantly defame other people or groups of people for no reason who are the evil liars. It seems that the leadership of Ukraine is trying to eradicate the Bible and religion from Ukraine.

Cool

I believe that one of the most essential things is to provide people's access to knowledge and education. When individuals have access to knowledge and the ability to create their own ideas, they are far less likely to be manipulated by those in authority. Furthermore, giving a place for free speech and dissent is critical; when people believe they have a voice and can speak out against injustice, they are far more empowered to combat oppression. Finally, ensuring that there is an independent justice system that can hold those in power responsible is also crucial; when people perceive that the rule of law is respected, they are more inclined to trust the system and less likely to be deceived.
91  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Legal system guiding Bitcoin that the govt. would always fail to regulate it. on: March 30, 2024, 07:06:27 AM
Formally I was thinking why can't the government successfully gain the influential authoritative power in regulation of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies based on their (governments) interests towards the digital technology currencies since it is attractable to them the government with the usual saying that... "No one is above the government" and "no power of authority is above the government".
But in there I keep questioning and asking... Why can't the same government force in to influence the crypto industries?

How do you fight the unknown enemy, bitcoin is going to remain ra mystery to them because its a decentralized digital currency and they cannot regulate it, but they have the right on regulating other cryptocurrencies and institutions under crypto because those are centralized, they pay tax to the government and the government regulate them all, but with bitcoin, this has become a serious problem for them to be able to achieve.

There appears to be a division between those who regard Bitcoin as a danger to government authority and control and others who see it as an advocate for good that may contribute to the creation of a more equitable and open financial system.

And there's another element to consider here: the influence of technology in all of this. As Bitcoin and other digital currencies become more advanced and blockchain technology evolves, it is attainable that new solutions might arise to solve some of the regulatory issues and prevent fraud or other criminal activities. This might assist to keep the world of Bitcoin healthy and viable, while still protecting its essential ideals of openness and independence.
92  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: March 29, 2024, 10:28:24 AM
It's good to have a source of income at first before you start gambling but I want to talk about this even more, do you know that even with your source of income you might be at one spot and not move forward?

No progression means you are no different from someone who have no source of income, I know someone who work so hard, I mean the hard jobs, that I can't even do, but at the end of the month when he gets paid he always waste everything on gambling, as if something told him that gambling is the way in this world for him.

He can't stop this, he can't help it, he is addicted to this way, I knew this after he start going around asking for things that he should be able to afford as a worker, he confessed that he lost money at first but the same thing kept happening for months and I find out that he is risking all his salary on gambling.

Is there anyway to help this person? I have given some advice to start using small percentage of the whole salary and safe the rest but still couldn't, and I don't want to help him to hold his money for him, he is over 28 years old, not a underage.

He have gotten used to this way because he started gambling all by himself and he won some money but end up even fuelling his addiction. What is next? Any tip?

It may be tough to persuade your buddy to seek therapy, but it is worth a try. If they are receptive to the concept, you may offer to assist them in finding a counsellor or therapist who specializes in gambling addiction. You might also suggest they join a support group such as Gamblers Anonymous. These groups can offer a secure, judgment-free environment for people to share their stories and receive support from others who understand what they're going through.

It's also crucial to remember to look for oneself in this scenario. It may be stressful and tiring to see someone close to you suffer with addiction. Make sure you're looking after your own emotional and physical health, and that you're creating limits around how much you're willing to help your friend.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investment in gambling on: March 29, 2024, 10:09:57 AM
Gambling may be very addictive, leading to bankruptcy for some people. So, while gambling and investing share certain characteristics, they are not the same thing. While both require placing money at risk, the objectives of the two activities are rather different. Gambling is all about generating a fast profit, but investing is about accumulating long-term prosperity. So I don't believe it's fair to compare the two as if they're the same thing. So, I believe it is critical to realize the particular hazards of gambling and to exercise caution when using the term "investment" to characterize it, so people who see gambling as a kind of enjoyment should play responsibly.

Initially before this forum , I was active in trading crypto which sometimes my analysis will enter for me and I will make some money and at a point the phobia of loss enveloped my thought and I stopped trading crypto because of series of losses but when I joined the forum ( bitcointalk) I read a thread that talked about patience and that all the newbies should Hodl coins instead of trading and that they should go through what the high ranked members post before making their own post and after going through series of threads I decided to read as much as I can and to hodl as much as I can and now all my technical analysis are going towards my direction and the chances of loss has reduced however, I thank all the High ranked members for their advice and at same time ,I urge all the newbies to be patient enough to read more post before posting .

I believe it's fantastic that you discovered a forum like Bitcointalk that has helped you expand your knowledge and enhance your investment abilities. And I'd love to share some of the most important lessons I've learnt from the BitcoinTalk community!

First and foremost, I've learnt the importance of conducting your own research rather than mindlessly following the crowd. There are several viewpoints and facts available, and it is up to each individual to make their own educated conclusion. No one knows what the future holds, so base your decisions on your own study and expertise.

Additionally, I've learnt the value of knowing the technology underlying cryptocurrency. It's not enough to just invest in cryptocurrency and hope as the most effective since it is critical to grasp how technology works and what makes it valuable. It's also crucial to stay current, as I've discovered that the Bitcointalk forum is an excellent resource for keeping up with the newest news and developments. So, given all of this, it may be beneficial to you as well.

96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A mistake you would surely regret on: March 29, 2024, 09:19:31 AM
Yes it's another bull run and everyone that invested in a scam project or lost money in the last bull run are already filled with FOMO and shouting to the moon for new projects they have no knowledge about, many Influencers are out again promoting new projects and promising huge returns and you can see a lot of persons in the Comment section following and wants to invest.

Don't let the green you see everywhere confuse you to forget the basis of investment, do your own research and don't follow the crowd that has no knowledge in what they are doing, don't let greed push you into looking for outrageous profits like 100x on new projects and you end up losing your money to scammers.

Avoid rapid investment or aggressive investment by putting money in every project available, take your time to research and make informed decisions, it's better to have only 5 good coins in your portfolio than to have a 100 shit coins there.

Lastly invest what you can afford to lose, or rather stake what you can afford to lose cause I know no matter the advice many read they woudl still invest in shit coins so stake what you can afford to lose.

I like your emphasis on the significance of prioritizing quality over number when deciding which ventures to invest in. Because too many people become obsessed with diversifying their investment holdings by investing in as many initiatives as possible, which may actually raise their risk. It's best to focus on a few tasks and completely hold them rather than attempting to separate yourself too thin.

I also believe it's fantastic that you underlined the need of investing just what you can afford to lose. This is such a crucial aspect, and it's so easy for individuals to get carried away and invest more money than they can afford.
97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Knowledge is the New Gold on: March 29, 2024, 08:20:25 AM
Something interesting happened over the weekend and I think it’s worth sharing. A friend of mine reached out to me that he was having some problems with his Trust wallet. According to him, he received some bitcoins days ago through his trust wallet address and even though the transaction was confirmed on the blockchain, the bitcoins did not reflect on his wallet balance so there was no way he could move the bitcoins. I suggested he download Electrum and import his seed phrase to Electrum. He told me that wouldn’t be a problem since he had his seed phrase saved as a photo in his phone. This took me by surprise because he isn’t a newbie to Bitcoin. He’s been a p2p trader for about three years and still did not know the danger of saving one’s seed phrase online. I explained to him the consequences of storing his seed phrase online and advised him not to use that wallet anymore. His only defense was that Trust wallet allowed him to screenshot his keys so it shouldn’t be that bad.

Anyway, he successfully imported his seed phrase to Electrum and was able to move his bitcoins with less fee. What’s fascinating about the story is this. I got a text from him this morning that someone has a similar problem with his wallet and he needs my guidance once again to help this person. He then told he charged 30% of the bitcoins as his fee. I laughed because I thought he was joking. But he wasn’t. He’s actually thinking of making a business out of this. Turns out that people will pay for things they can do by themselves if they had the right knowledge.

I believe it's fantastic to help individuals and educate them on how to use Bitcoin responsibly. And it's critical to ensure that individuals get the knowledge they need to make sound financial decisions. On another topic, I believe it's fascinating that your friend's experience emphasizes the trade-off between convenience and security when it comes to cryptocurrency, because many individuals prefer to access their cryptocurrency via a mobile app such as Trust wallet. However, as your friend's tale demonstrates, there are hazards involved with such strategy, which individuals should seriously consider before making any decisions.

99  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Life is precious on: March 29, 2024, 06:59:55 AM
The frustrations the economy has for the vulnerable is just being managed by grace. It is not easy for responsible persons with responsibilities to tolerate and just smile over the harden situations.
Although life itself is a treasure while the rest of it are pleasures so, let's have hope that there is possibilities of better changes in a nearest because the bases of the economy would definitely not remain the same.
First we must be grateful for the life we have today's atleast with the insightments that there are people who are financially better than us and yet they died while we still lives.
If only we would live to appreciate the live we have today, there is a hope of glory in breaking through other substances of sustainabilities.

As you stated, life is a treasure, and the rest is just enjoyment. Even when we face difficulties, we may be thankful for the life we have and the chances we have been given. It really puts things into balance and helps us concentrate on what is actually important. Taking the time to reflect on the things we are grateful for, no matter how minor, may make a tremendous impact in our overall attitude and outlook. It's also crucial to take care of ourselves, which includes eating correctly, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. So when we're physically and psychologically healthy, it's simpler to be appreciative and appreciate the good in our life.
