Great work Usukan, you have always been positive and now stepping up as a leader, seems natural for you.

About ideas; How about making an app for making payment with UTC directly to a mobile phone number like the swedish "Swish"-system (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.bankgirot.swish&hl=en) where you basicly connect your mobile phone number to your bank account and then you can transfer (SEK) to any other mobile phone (also with the Swish app).
This kind of app would be "smaller" than a wallet and more user friendly, just chose phone number to send UTC and amount and leave a personal message and send.
Instead of connecting to your bank acount it would be connected to your wallet.
What do you think guys?

Yes I have the latest wallet and that is no problem, It's ultrabex that don't seem to be uptodate...

Is ultrabex working, I seem to get different amount there than in my actual wallet, don't seem to be updating on ultrabex

Seems to be about 7 days behind - don't think its been re-synced since the latest fork
did you try the latest version?

I also noticed that orphans are less in stake minting than before.

Same here, wallet is up to date, 1600293 blocks of transaction history. Last received block was generated 12 minute(s) ago. Stake minting enabled, expected time to earn reward is 1 second(s), but not even getting any stakes/orphans. I have 5 active connections to ultra coin network, must be more than 5 right?

Nobody is doing anybody's work, i just said there are miners interested in a stable coin that is also useful.

Do you honestly think a handful of hobbyist miners are going to keep this coin going Huh If you want adoption your going to need new people getting involved

If these professional miners wanted the UTC community to know what they plan why are they sending you in to do their work? . . I'm taking this news with a pinch of salt. I have heard so many promises over the last 18 months I don't believe anything until it is done now.

The mining giants can come once UTC has a a much larger user base.  If one comes in now it would be bad news.

Mining giants do not back coins, they mine what is the most profitable to immediately sell.  Particularly for smaller coins they monopolize the mining discouraging current smaller miners and in almost every case the price of the coin plummets as all they are doing in immediately liquidating to BTC.

Pretty much one page back we are discussing UTC's niche, and that isn't attracting large mining companies mining for the sole purpose of selling as fast as they mine.  SHA, Scrypt and X11 and the multipools that profit hop have that covered.

Also there is a difference between the types of new people one can attract besides mining giants...there are also new users, there are new investors, there are new individual miners.  New people <> mining corporation.  I'd much rather attract a slew of new people interesting in UTC, not just in mining UTC for BTC.

+1 again Smiley

+2

May I suggest for our H.K based friends http://wepaybtc.com/ , they have easy setup for GPU miners and daily payout in BTC which in turn they can use for buying UTC. If they really believe in UTC that would be one possible solution for them to get UTC and for the UTC network not to be monopolized by mining giants...?

Well, who cares...now someone else got them instead  Smiley

Maybe pugman?

is Paul and that other guy still on the team? was the big dump paul? i cant think who else had 2 million UTC.

Another ultracoin?

A view weeks ago Bumface stated here he was aware about the "other Ultracoin" and was in contact with Reggie Middleton of his Ultra Coin.

Bumface stated then that he contacted Reggie and that they made a deal and could co assist next to each other and that they have no problems about two party's use the same name UltraCoin.

Yes, that is correct. After discussing this in the dev team, I talked to BitcoinVox today about it and we all agreed to just leave their article/video as is.

I saw ultracoin guy was being interviewed in Russia Today, Boom Bust program few months back.. Hope this is just a temporary silence. Looking forward to hear something from dev team soon  Smiley

Great work again UTC Team, thanks Kracko for the wallet update, works perfect, no need to redo the hole blockchain, easy installer. Thanks for the security issue!
Keep up the good work everyone!
Cheers

Wallet Update

New wallet is up folks.  The Google Play version will probably be ready sometime tomorrow.

http://ultracoin.net/wallet.html

  • The new layout is more Android friendly, with a vertical menu at the left instead of at the top.
  • The startup time has been reduced significantly, especially on the Android platform
  • A "Staking" transaction type has been added and a new icon.  Stakes previously showed as "Generated".
  • Security fixes.
  • Wallet-side support for OneClick has been implemented.  A separate application will be published that will be kicked off by the wallet, with the necessary parameters passed from the wallet that will be used to configure the miners for anonymous mining.
  • A new status bar icon has been added that gives estimated stake info and status messages that let you know that you have mature coin groups ready to stake (or not). Hopefully this will help take some of the mystery out of staking. (Thanks Fluttercoin)
  • A new alert key has been generated and implemented for main-net.  We'll be able to use the alert feature to tell investors to update their wallet to the latest version should an update be necessary at any point in the future.
  • The minimum required protocol has been raised to the current wallet version (70056).
  • Yellow font changed to black on the status messages showing on the splash screen

OneClick will follow by the end of the month.  We will start with a release that supports NVidia cards and, hopefully not long after, ATI support will be added to.  There are no long conversions or redownloads with this one.  It should start right back up with a new look.

Windows Instructions:

  • Backup wallet.dat using the wallet feature
  • Exit Ultracoin wallet if it is running
  • Wait for tray icon to disappear.  Keep mousing over it until it is gone while the wallet is shutting down.
  • Unzip the download to a folder
  • Run the ultracoin-setup.msi installer within the extracted folder from the zip.  If you get any errors about missing prerequisites try the setup.exe.

Mac Instructions:

  • Backup wallet.dat using the wallet feature
  • Exit Ultracoin wallet if it is running
  • Wait for taskbar icon to disappear.  Quitting from the Ultracoin-Qt menu seems more effective
  • Open up the downloaded DMG file
  • Drag the Ultracoin icon to the Applications folder
  • Start Ultracoin-Qt from the Applications folder within the Finder

Android Instructions:

  • Backup wallet.dat
  • Just update it from Google Play

Great news again Kracko! Keep up the good work devs plus management team! (I think the doll is kind of cute...)

Great to see the good news. I must admit my laugh made a noise on the last scentence ;-)   Grin  that would be awesome

Development Update

I'm pleased to announce that we've been making significant progress with the up and coming update, with much of it coming in the last few weeks.  Our wallet is getting a bit of a face-lift.  Note, that this is just my area of responsibility.  Steven has a lot going on in his lane too.

The Wallet

  • All the new updates are currently in the dev branch of the Git repository.  After I'm satisfied with testing, we'll publish new packages for Windows, OSX, Linux and Android.

OneClick

  • Modified NOMP and the wallet to support Ultracoin's signing of submitted blockhashes.  This was necessary to get anonymous mining to work as it isn't supported with any Peercoin-like PoS coin that also signs submitted blockhashes.  The act of signing the block changes it's blockhash and NOMP tries to use the original blockhash to verify the submission, and as several have noticed, it fails.
  • Currently iterates through all NVidia cards installed using the Cuda library.  It will be trivial to start the cards in batches of the same model type, using autotune, and aim them at the anonymous pool.
  • The same algorithm that is at cfg.ultracoin.net has been implemented.  Now what is needed is the ADL calls to iterate through all installed ATI models, and a lookup table of specs (shaders, memory, etc) or to programmatically come up with them for use with the settings generator.

Miscellaneous infrastructure apps

  • Updated ultracoin-seeder with the newest protocol version to be released (70057) and minimum accepted protocol version to the current wallet (70056).  Only those wallets on the latest fork will be considered working.
  • Published Ultracoin ports of bitcoin-seeder and bitcoin-abe to my repository (https://github.com/Kracko).  You too can run your own seeder and block chain explorer.  And seriously, if you want to set up a seeder on a dedicated server and support the coin, let me know and I'll add yours to the list in the wallet.
  • As mentioned above, anonymous mining with NOMP is now possible.  One, or possibly both, of the pools will be transitioned to anonymous mining.  From an operator standpoint, this is much more desirable as there is no balance of coins to protect from hackers as they are immediately issued after the block matures.

Future development plans in consideration

  • Light wallet implementation.  This one is critical as it will greatly speed up synching time as the wallet will only care about transactions relating to it.  This one is huge, and will be my next priority after the OneClick implementation is done
  • iOS wallet.  We have a new dev on the team who will be working on this one.
  • A port of bitcoinj, fully supporting Proof of Stake and scrypt-jane.
  • Identify stake blocks in the block explorer and represent them more clearly
  • A voodoo doll of Ultradar to be passed around for your needling enjoyment.

Hi Kracko, I just pointed one of my miners towards the test pool, tell me if you need more and for how long. It seem to be working, can see the miner in http://pool.ultracoin.net/.

An anonymous UTC stratum is up for testing.

Webhttp://pool.ultracoin.net
Stratumstratum+tcp://pool.ultracoin.net:4242
Username<Your UTC address>
Passwordx

This will be the pool utilized by the future OneClick wallet addition.

Edit:  port 4242 has a static diff of 1

@ mikeymillie You are right, enough said!

That guy posted this in July of last year:

"Hello im not new on the cryptoworld even not with the ultracoin as i think is one of the best coins out there but i have been watching the community from the outside until today that i decided to make an account and express my ideas .Why we cannot just arange a buying meeting on mintpal or cryptsy and just keep buying until we push the price to 0.00007-0.0001 i can use 2-5 btc ..if we gather all the community to buy this can attract some new buyers also some investors.....on the other side i dont have too much idea about what we can do to promote the coin because i really love it and how fast it is...but i can give 5-10 btc to make some new things for the coin..im waiting some reply from the new investors or bumface for some cooperations...Also we can arrange EVERY WEEK something like ULTRA-CHARITY and everybody on the community can donate as much as bitcoins can on a common wallet for ultracoin managed by the developer and use them to buy ultracoin and invest them on the coin...LETS TAKE THIS COIN TO THE FUTURE!!"

So basically he was betting on a quick buck and that didn't happen, so he tried to come in to the thread and rally the troops with a promise of a pump and must have gotten distracted by some other shiny thing.
If he paid attention there were several opportunities to make "pump" money in UTC but i guess he missed the boat and is now a little bitter about that.

Most trolls are nothing but former "fair weather friends."

UTC is cool, it's one of the elite coins that everyone knows "something" will happen with sooner or later. People just have no patience.

R9 280x 3 GB:
yacminer.exe --scrypt-chacha -o stratum+tcp://stratum2.tumblingblock.com:5555 -u worker.1 -p password -R 2560 -g 1 -w 128 --buffer-size 2590 --lookup-gap 24 --gpu-engine 1200 --gpu-memclock 1500 --temp-cutoff 85 --nfmin 4 --nfmax 30 --starttime 1388361600

this setting gives 1,174kh/s, lookup-gap 8 also works

Hi, What is your setting for the R9 280x?
