81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet on: December 29, 2018, 10:03:21 PM
A wallet that gives you control over your private keys. If you don't have can't afford a hardware wallet, use Electrum or bitcoin core.

82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why government do not want bitcoin to be legal? on: December 29, 2018, 08:51:10 PM
It depends what do you mean by making it legal, to be honest. If it means regulations that will make it centralized, then I don't think we need that.

But to answer your question in general, I believe It's simply because of the nature of bitcoin and how it's against everything the banking system stands for and governments don't want something they can't control.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: December 06, 2018, 07:19:42 PM
Why is XTZ keep droping?

Bitcoin is connected to everything else. If it drops, everything else does so you shouldn't take it as if the coin is dying or anything.

Also, If you check coinmarketcap and check the BTC price, you'll see that it only dropped 3% compared to USD where it dropped above 6%.
84  Other / Meta / Digital goods section on: December 05, 2018, 04:47:25 PM
The section is very hard to browse currently even after making the Invites & accounts subsection. I think another subsection should be made "Gift cards & Coupons" (and maybe Keys too). It should include gift card sales, software keys (Microsoft, Adobe etc.) and coupons (like Bitmain) etc. While the current section should be left for Templates, courses, tools, Boosting services, hosting, domain names etc.
85  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / LN's state? on: December 05, 2018, 03:30:39 PM
There are some services already accepting it like Bitrefill and TorGuard even though developers of LND are saying that we shouldn't use it on the main net yet.

So my question, When should we expect to see LN stable release? ? I know that we already have wallets right now but since the user experience is not the main focus, they're not that easy to use.

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about privacy coins? on: December 05, 2018, 02:35:11 PM
The question that you should ask yourself is why are you going to use these? Is it because of the fancy name? "anonymous coin"? or It's actually because you want to be untraceable for real.

If the latter, then I suggest going with Monero as It's the best and a proof of that is that It's the most coin in the darknet after bitcoin. If It's just for investment purposes though, I wouldn't suggest that because regardless of much It will grow, it won't be as much as bitcoin as most of the people believe in bitcoin because the development is more active and more used etc.

So, not everyone is looking for anonymous coins so therefore there won't be much demand as one might expect. Besides that, bitcoin is growing and more proposals are being made to make it more anonymous so that could make the other coins pretty much obsolete.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Walleting.Services] AUTOMATIC Bitcoin Fork Claiming: BTG BCD BCX BTCP BIFI MBC on: December 04, 2018, 08:24:40 PM
Do you have any plans for building an API? I was thinking about something when a user could send an address, and a result will be re-sent to him on whether that address has funds in a forked chain or not.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NULL on: December 04, 2018, 04:23:09 PM
NULL

lol rekt.  exit scam confirmed?  or did this shitcoin make a new thread?

A new thread was made and posted above but that doesn't change the fact that this looks like an exit scam. They didn't manage to deliver half of the things they promised sadly. Tokens are pretty much useless because If the cards are only available in one country, basically the holders won't get as much as expected.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥 List of Bounties & Airdrops 🔥🔥 on: December 04, 2018, 12:09:59 PM
I think you're better off building a website where people could submit their bounties etc. because you won't be able to keep up this way, bounties are being made daily and It could become hard to keep track of everything through that section in bitcointalk.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum 2.0 ETA on: December 04, 2018, 12:30:29 AM
I keep seeing everyone talking about this update and how It's going to push the price to new heights etc. because It's going to have POS, new features etc. But the question is when? did the developers manage to set a date for this fork yet? It seem to be all talk at this point.
91  Other / Archival / Re: ETH NODE! Need help on: December 03, 2018, 01:16:32 PM
It's just a proposal, as far as I know, It has not been implemented yet. I don't think It's possible to tell the numbers before It's up and running because it depends on how many people are doing it from my understanding.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being able to see people's balances and transactions on: December 03, 2018, 07:31:51 AM
CT is something that is currently being built for Bitcoin I believe where only the receiver and the sender could see the amount being transacted.

For now, If you're going to accept Bitcoin from multiple customers then I'm going to assume you'll be using a payment processor. In that case, they'll do all the work for you and generate a new address for each customer like said above.

If you want to add another layer of security, you could use mixers like ChipMixer where you're basically given private keys to import so there is no way to tell who used them.

I wouldn't bother creating a new coin, to be honest, If you're thinking that people would use your coin just because of such a feature, then It's not going to happen. Crypto is about transparency.
93  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: project Arbolet.net on: December 02, 2018, 08:37:53 PM
is this your way of promoting your own site? lol

It sure looks like considering that the website is nowhere to find but at the same time, I don't understand how that would work for him. People will do research and clearly discourage investing there.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Bitclave — The Privacy Is Yours ★ Important Announcement  ★ on: December 02, 2018, 07:16:45 AM
hasn't the BitClave team make a new strategy to improve the price of CAT tokens in exchange? or at least giving an announcement about a promising partnership, I feel disappointed if I remember the price of CAT tokens during ICO. $ 0.1 and now $ 0.00256

Today price is as low as $0,0012. This is in 100x times cheaper than ICO price?  Shocked
Their search engine launched already? I knew, that this cant replace Google, but seems their deal really bad right now with this price. When tokens will be used here?

It's launched but still the beta phase. I'm no longer optimistic about this project, to be honest. The website is very basic and looks like something any decent developer would be able to do. It's simply getting the data from CoinMarketCap when you type the name of the coin and can't even load anything more than one page. Relying on third-party services was not the plan. I don't think this could compete with Bing, let alone Google.
95  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top API providers? on: November 30, 2018, 09:23:04 PM
https://etherscan.io/apis#accounts is a great API for ETH. https://github.com/EverexIO/Ethplorer/wiki/Ethplorer-API more information. The best API for ETH here https://bloxy.info/api_methods
I use all three.

Bloxy seems the best but apparently, you'll have to make a request to have access. Is it that easy to get If let's say I'm building something for myself only? also, are there any fees?
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: November 29, 2018, 10:39:24 AM
Here is a big problem. What is team doing to be listed on some good exchanges? The only one which is worth to mention is Kraken. Shitbtc dont even allow you to withdraw coins. My coins of XTZ there are frozen and for the rest of the owners also.

I am seriously asking XTZ team when are you planing to do some stuff regarding new exchange, advertising? I just pushed 10k of euros, more would be pushed if there would be clear answers.

Don't get me wrong, the coin and the project itself are amazing, but there should be also other things involved not only technical aspect.

I believe that the coins listed at Hitbtc are not the real ones, they're IOU/Futures. Kraken is not the only reputable exchange the coin is listed on though, you have Gatecoin.io, Bitfinex, UEX which by the way hold most of the trading volume.

They're probably having issues when it comes to the marketing, being listed on exchanges and anything that involves money because of the lawsuit they're dealing with.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Electrum on: November 29, 2018, 09:02:44 AM
If you don't have any programming knowledge, you probably shouldn't do it because you would be risking people funds. I couldn't find any guides but there is Electrum dash, ltc, verge, bch I believe so If your coin is foroked from any of these, you should check the source code, that should give you an idea on where to start.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: It's time to sell on: November 28, 2018, 08:26:41 PM
Why would you ever tell anyone to sell? This could be your own personal opinion and not advising the masses on such thing.  How are you able to know which Coin to sell or hold?

You clearly misunderstood me. I'm clearly saying that everyone is free to do whatever he wants in the first line of the post. I'm not claiming that I know which coins are going to the moon, I'm just saying, that coins with no proper roadmap and an unprofessional team will go nowhere, so maybe you should do research about the coins you invested in instead of investing where there is hype etc.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Running MyCrypto locally? on: November 28, 2018, 06:57:33 PM
MyCrypto is basically the new version of Myetherwallet for those who don't know. I have found an article on their blog that says that I should simply download their desktop wallet.

Is that something similar to Electrum? Like, do they have their own servers running. If yes, how could I run my own and connect my wallet to it? something like a full node or ElectrumX.
100  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Beware of PayPal and other reversible transfer services on: November 28, 2018, 01:41:55 PM
Oh so it's true! That's why I never use PayPal because of negative feedback like this and also there seems to be a lot of delay in their processing and is my observation right? The fees are quite oddly high or is it just me?

It's simply how the system is built. The delays before being able to spend your money are meant to be there because of the seller/buyer protection they have. And as for the fees, they're that high because there are multiple parties involved and not just the sender and receiver like in Bitcoin. The traditional payment methods have to either adapt with cryptocurrencies or be left behind.
