how you guys getting more connections? I only have 8....

open port 7688 on your router and forward it

I'm mining on 4 different PCs on the same LAN. How am I going to forward the port to all PCs? Is it possible to configure YaCoin to use a different port on each PC?
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. START is now. on: May 08, 2013, 04:17:53 PM
maybe a proxy will help with the connections? i cant open ports, the router is closed to user access by my ISP

What ISP can get away with that?

Google the brand and model of router, check it has UPNP. What consumer is going to accept all their videogames not working? It likely does have UPNP. Enable UPNP in your client.

-MarkM-

The windows binaries are compiled with UPNP support disabled Sad

Simple fix for everyone to start mining

1 download cpu miner https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55038.0

2 extract.

Now create the following in note pad and change file type and save as all so it does not save as notepad or txt

create following  files

yacoin.conf
cfg.json
yacoin.bat

Now for yacoin.conf

add the following

addnode=82.211.30.212
rpcuser=what_Ever_You_Want
rpcpassword=1234
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rcpallowip=192.168.1.2
rcpallowip=192.168.1.3
rcpallowip=192.168.1.4
rpcport=8108
port=7688
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0

The allow ports might be different depending on system so goto start type cmd type in ipconfig to get your ip and add default ip should be something live above.

am using a number of computers hence the amount of ips

rpcport= you can set this to what ever port your not using to min with.

cfg.json file follow steps below

add text below to file and save

{
        "_comment1" : "Any long-format command line argument ",
        "_comment2" : "may be used in this JSON configuration file",

        "url" : "1270.0.01:8108/",
        "user" : "username you created",
        "pass" : "pass you created",
        "quiet" : true
}

Now save this.

yacoin.bat

Add the following

minerd --algo=scrypt --url=this is default ip and port example 127.0.0.1:4321 --user=username set --pass= pass you set.

Now save this.

Now take yacoin.conf add this to C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\YaCoin or what ever your user and folder is for your system

Now take file cfg.json add this to your cpuminer folder that minerd.exe is in.

Now take file yacoin.bat and add to cpuminer folder that minerd.exe is in.

Now Start your client up wait for blocks to download and have some connections on. When this is in green and all blocks downloaded Click yacoin.bat this will run minerd.exe and start mining on your cpu for you.

If this helped feel free to donate me some coin Smiley YNTu6qqP1ejq2pdjLhqNEVMA28vbvviEtd

Does this work? What's the improvement over the builtin miner?

You are a hero member and I'm a noob...so I'll transfer first...but can you do a pgp signature or something...or should we just use escrow like member John K?  I was just trying to make a similar deal and they were clearly trying to scam me with some program called autoeSCREW.exe...I said F*%$ that.

For what it's worth, I've had this trade a little while ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=184779.0
I'm fine with using an escrow if you want though, if you can find one willing to help us.

If you prefer a direct transfer, please send the BTC to this address: 1Jm2meHk8GDVtbLuVD5tin75TCJVYHS7nL
And post a Bitbar address here where I should send the Bitbars. Let me know Smiley

Cheers!

88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chain Bloat CNC, FTC, LTC on: May 07, 2013, 04:23:31 PM
CNC will bloat very quickly as a new block is generated every minute.
LTC will not 4 times faster than BTC as a new block is generated every 2.5 minutes, but will follow the same block halving rules as Bitcoin.
FTC has the same 2.5 minute per block generation speed, but has a start of 200 FTC instead of the 50 presented in LTC and BTC.

EDIT: Corrected data

Incorrect. 1 block in 10 minutes (Bitcoin) with 1000 transactions will be roughly the same size as 10 blocks in 10 minutes with 100 transactions each (CNC). The 10 blocks will be _slightly_ larger due to overhead, but that's negligible.

isn't this supposed to be super rare and worth more than 1 BTC?

It's quite rare compared to other coins, and I could see it rising above 1 btc. Then again, I could also see it crashing. These alt-coins are high risk/high reward. Personally, this is everything I mined and I don't want to speculate any further, as I need the BTC right now.

That are some cheap BitBars!
Be fast

I noticed you were looking for BTB earlier. Would you still like to buy some? Smiley

Hey there,

I'm selling 5.783473 BTB for .85 each or for .80 each if you buy them all in one go. I'd like you to send first or we can use an escrow. I'm also willing to do the transaction in smaller batches if you prefer. Let me know here or via PM if you're interested. Thanks!

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. Release in 24 hours. on: May 06, 2013, 11:12:19 PM
So given this is over three hours late, if the OP had any integrity at all they would post something about a new release time.  The release process should be complexly tested and ready to go.  This business of making who knows how many people sit around for hours is ridiculous.  It would also ridiculous to come out with some release at this point, screwing all of those who went to bed, went to work, or some other distraction from bitcoin forum.

Oh, and some kind of statement about the initial difficulty would be nice too.

+1! Couldn't have said it better. My thought exactly!

I will sell you the compiled source for 10 LTC.

PM if interested.

That source isn't the finished coin yet. The new scrypt implementation isn't even included in that source.
